Kristl, I love ya like a sister, but I can give you one incontrovertible reason why I'm a better judge of Marcel than you are. I'm a gay man, and I know an a*****e when I see one. I wanna see it! I've been looking for audition tapes from current and past cheftestants and have come up short so far. All I've seen are other hopefuls that never got picked, and I sadly discovered who wins this season (they opened their restraunt last week! Which is crap! Why would they be allowed to open before we, the people, see who wins?!) Hon you don't know he won!! His restaurant was probably in the works before he went on the show. The $100,000 prize money isn't necessarily earmarked for a restaurant. -------------------- "Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all pretty small stuff" -My Dad

Kristl, if you are asking me that question honestly, despite having watched what I watched, then I do not believe that 16 hours of footage of Marcel being contemptuous and disdainful will convince you... From my point of view, Marcel was disgusting. That shouldn't be taken to exonerate anyone else for bad behavior. That was the Season of Bad Behavior. But Marcel? No....... he was Puck. Season 2 may have been the overall "Season of Bad Behavior," if you are looking at the large number of cheftestants who exhibited pathetically bad behavior at least once. But Season 4 is certainly giving S2 a run for the money in this regards. There may not be as many rude, obnoxious, arrogant characters as there were in S2. However, the S4 bad-behavior chefs that are still there (or who have, thankfully, already been eliminated) are just as bad as anyone in S2 or any other season. Frankly, Lisa, on her own, is more contemptuous and irritating than all the jerks in S2 combined. (Whoever at Bravo cast Ms. Bacon Cooker for the show should get a huge bonus in recognition of the reliably intense drama that she produces week after week.) -------------------- KSboy

Hon you don't know he won!! His restaurant was probably in the works before he went on the show. The $100,000 prize money isn't necessarily earmarked for a restaurant. What else would they use the money for? In the opening, Padme says "And $100,000 to make their culinary dreams a reality". I would make my restraunt "Travisio's!" It's myrestraunt idea... 3 sections to it: 1) a nice looking section with white pickets and vines growing that serves seafood, steaks, and italian food. 2) an area that's blocked off with wooden wall sthat will be the bar area and the only place smoking is allowed. All bar food (burgers, quesedillas, fried foods). 3) a section in a bit plexiglass room for kids! All kid foods (mac & cheese, grilled cheese, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, etc), with over-sized tables and giant bean bag chairs. |

That couldn't possibly be because, in the very first challenge, he claimed he was put in the bottom four because the other chefs felt threatened by him, could it? If I were in a competition and someone said that, I'd think, "OK, you need to get over yourself, because I just did!" Oh Jim really he's just so misunderstood. LMAO Marcel said he was coming on the show to not make friends, alienated everyone around him and got preferential treatment from production. Just look at the Marcel Frank incident. One second he was bragging about how he threw everyones stuff on the floor. The next second he's tell Frank a slightly different tune. -------------------- |

Hee hee hee--is it that obvious? Richard, if you're reading this, don't worry--you're safe from my advances, given that you're (1) straight, (2) married, and (3) living in Atlanta (long distance is such a pain). And 4) the fact that he wants a bunch o lil Blaizes runnin round the place?! -------------------- I know I could never begin to repay my dad the interest, let alone the principal on what the man invested in me. Okay. This is Mother's only weigh-in on the Marcel debate. I believe I'm a disinterested (but not uninterested) party in this. I see Marcel as immature but not worthy of the contempt he drew (and draws). He is a prime example of Alexander Pope's warning that "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring." In other words, he'd gotten an idea about molecular gastronomy, but he never really made the connection between the gimmickry and old-fashioned idea of making food people want to eat.
I think he failed to see molecular gastronomy technique as a means to an end; rather, MG was, for him, an end in itself. I think Marcel is an amazing talent, and once he outgrows the "Gosh gee-whiz" aspect and the embarrassing attempts to display coolth by rapping, he will develop into a chef to be reckoned with. He probably just needs to get laid. Hung—and even more so, Richard—understands the concept behind the experimental technique, and both, as a result, produce food to be eaten. I think Marcel will get there eventually—but not for a few years yet. -------------------- Mother Hubbard

The error either creates the opposite of the intended meaning or produces an unintended joke and just plain makes me giggle ![]() ACCEPT, FORGET, PROCEED Dr. George Petropoulos |

We remember all of Marcel's infractions because there were so many to choose from. As for Otto--Otto was a thief and a liar. Plain and simple. If that's the best Marcel can come up with for support, that's real telling. Otto got hosed. They refused to let them address the lychee issue at the store. They told them that they had to go back and talk to a more senior production person. LOL. Completely manufactured drama by Bravo. -------------------- |

The only chef I do not like this season is Lisa. I was a little dissapointed in Antonia with the sausagegate thing too. I think Antonia is a good chef and liked her a lot until that epi.
Grew up with a bunch of hotheads so Dale hasn't bothered me yet. In fact, you can ask the mascots. He was my pick from the beginning. See Dale, Richard and Steph in the end. Unless something goes terribly wrong. Like the wedding wars. Rolls eyes again on that pitiful excuse of a challenge. Feel very sorry for the wedding party and bride and groom. In fact, I am quite surprise that no one with the exception of Lisa has really made a vein in my temple pop yet. Perhaps I'm just getting used to the program. I must say that I was surprised by all the chefs that they actually thought they were getting a night out on the Improv challenge. I would have been suspicious from the moment those words left Padma's lips. -------------------- "Like Kurosawa I make mad films. 'K I don't make films. But if I did they'd have a samurai." BNL

HMMM use the money---first season Tiff said if she had won she would pay off debt and travel. Harold has opened his restaurant, but Ilan hasn't done squat! Still don't know about Hung but I'll bet he does open his own restaurant and he'll be highly successful. I love your idea---it's like a giant playground for everyone!!! Can I work for you???
