...aaaaand, we're back. After a short break for re-runs, welcome back to Top Chef season 2. Tonight we have episode 207, "The Raw And The Cooked". Our chefs take on the challenge of cooking a good breakfast for an unknown type of athlete at an unknown location with -- cue ominous music -- an unknown kitchen set-up. How do you cook a meal when you don't know what you'll be able to cook with?

(Faithful readers of Bravo SVP Andy Cohen's daily blog will also know that this is the episode where Padma shows up in a bikini top.)

Enjoy!

There was no new show last week and this week's show will air in about an hour and a half so we'll know then!

I happened to tune into Bravo tonight not knowing this show was on. This is a such a great idea!!! Much better than Swapping wifes, Fear Factor, Survivor and others. I just couldn't stop watching passionate contenders argue about who put the two extra table spoons of sugar into that cookie mix. And then there was this scene where the judges (a bald guy and three emaciated chicks) were doing Donald Trump's " you are fired"... Oh my God!!! I was sitting on the edge of my couch...

So I figured Bravo would have a message board dedicated to this great show where I can share my disgust with the current state of cable television. It is unbelievable that there can be a whole hour of crap like this show, yet you can hardly ever see anything that truly matters. This show is the pinnacle of moral degradation! You are simple laughable.

Facts and Figures on Health

Poor nutrition and calorie deficiencies cause nearly one in three people to die prematurely or have disabilities, according to the World Health Organization. 5

Pregnant women, new mothers who breastfeed infants, and children are among the most at risk of undernourishment. 5

Every year, nearly 11 million children die before they reach their fifth birthday. Almost all of these deaths occur in developing countries, 3/4 of them in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, the two regions that also suffer from the highest rates of hunger and malnutrition. 3

Most of these deaths are attributed, not to outright starvation, but to diseases that move in on vulnerable children whose bodies have been weakened by hunger. 6
Every year, more than 20 million low-birth weight babies are born in developing countries. These babies risk dying in infancy, while those who survive often suffer lifelong physical and cognitive disabilities. 3

The four most common childhood illnesses are diarrhea, acute respiratory illness, malaria and measles. Each of these illnesses is both preventable and treatable. Yet, again, poverty interferes in parents’ ability to access immunizations and medicines. Chronic undernourishment on top of insufficient treatment greatly increases a child’s risk of death. 6

In the developing world, 27 percent of children under 5 are moderately to severely underweight. 10 percent are severely underweight. 10 percent of children under 5 are moderately to severely wasted, or seriously below weight for one’s height, and an overwhelming 31 percent are moderately to severely stunted, or seriously below normal height for one’s age.

Are you kidding and hour and a half? I'm on the west coast and I have about four and a half hours! I can't even guess as to who they will eliminate. I don't want them to eliminate Betty or Marcel-their drama makes for great TV!!! It's hilarious to watch a 44 year old woman pick fights with a 26 year old boy.

WTF?

The "utterly bad taste department" comment: Now we know where Tiffani has been doing her cooking for children.

Hi everyone!

Coming out of lurk mode for over the last year. I really miss last year's chef's too, even some of the one's that drove me crazy.

I'm really enjoying being lectured. It's a cooking challenge so please don't be so self righteous. And, please take your show on the road and away from my computer.
