How did TomC find out about this?

That's what I was wondering. Did Marcel call him? Or one of the other cheftestants? Or maybe one of the camera people?

It seems TomC found out from Production!! Marcel and the rest didn't have a chance to explain themselves!! I knew Cliff was going when TomC dropped in like that!! Good riddance!! What an idiot!! I'd sue!! I can't believe people can think this assault was only a joke and Marcel should 'suck' it up!! I'd love to see what they'd do if in a similar position!! Cliff wouldn't be running around now if it had been me!! lol!!

I think they should have asked Marcel if he felt like it was an "aggressive attack" or if he thought it was just a silly prank--and they shouldn't tell him what the consequences would be for either answer. Who knows? By morning, maybe Marcel had cooled off and decided that it was just a prank and no one got seriously hurt, so no big whoop. I just think that Marcel should have had some input.

Chef C explained that according to the rules he had no choice but to tell Cliff to pack and go home. This was serious enough to warrant his being sent home. Marcel could have had his say, but it wouldn't influence the outcome. Cliff however did redeem himself somewhat by apologizing and admitting the mistake.

Bravo Padma!!

"It wasn’t in fun; they weren’t all chummy with Marcel. I bet he was very scared being woken up like that from a sound sleep and dragged onto the carpet. In a previous blog, I said that Marcel was their Piggy in some "Lord of the Flies" scenario, and unfortunately it turns out that I was right. How dare Cliff lay his hands on Marcel? And nevermind human decency -- how stupid can you be? Leaving aside the fact that you’re on national television, or that potential investors, employers, and millions of the general viewing public are watching, why would you jeopardize your chance at $100, 000 dollars after you’ve spent weeks and weeks slaving your heart out with little sleep, away from all your family and friends?

Elia, Ilan, and Sam were not innocent in it either. None of them said to stop. In fact, Ilan eggs Cliff on so boisterously off camera and Sam sits there laughing on the couch. I guess Elia was holding the camera? I felt awful when I heard and even worse when I saw the footage. I always thought that our show was better than many reality shows because it was about people trying to be the best at their craft, and that that dedication was compelling to watch, I saw no one trying to be better that night. What a shame."

Uh I have had bad bad hospital emergency room quality miscooked chicken before and I can tell you first hand its a rather large deal.

As have I. But Tom makes clear it was cooked enough to eat. Otherwise, they would not have let them serve it to anyone.
Still stretching.

How is "Most Likey" making it clear. How is that a stretch. With all the spin in your posts you should just title them the Marcel Factor.

lol

With all the "made-up" nonsense in your posts, you should just title them Max Factor.

And again, I'm not the one trying to psycho analyise the contestants. So much for "made up" nonsense.

keep going.....

Am I "making this up" too or did you not spend multipule paragraphs trying to analyise someone you have only seen on TV?

Please feel free to respond...

As a Executive Chef with 15 years experience, I can assure you that Marcel is NOT good at all. His Food is not thought out to the point that it would be well executed in a restaurant. He never thinks of the flavor of the food and then how he would make it better. His Salmon dish tonight was sooooo boring. And what is his thing with Salmon and beets, it is not that great of a combination. If he wins it will be out of luck and not skill. He has lost the real concept of good cooking , which is take a great ingredient and make its great flavors shine and is only interested in making stupid foams.

Shhhhhhh!!!!! The Marcel Fan-Club will come out with their pitchforks and torches if they hear you say ANYTHING disturbing against their Prince (of Darkness)!!!

To me, the word "aggressive" implies anger. If that is Tom's interpretation of it, then asking Marcel was a must. I guess it would all depend on their definition of the word.

Sam is a d*ck. He instigates alot off camera, but lately the camera has caught him. He was egging others on to go bully Marcel more. He was laughing his but off when Cliff was holding Marcel down.
Give me a break. someone said it is Marcel's fault because of the way he acts. So all parents with tempermental children that are driving us nuts should just go hold them down, heck go drown them because hey they make us react they like. You all are full of sh*t.
There is never any reason to treat someone badly or with cruelity. As Cliff, Ilian, Frank, Betty, Sam have done to Marcel. He is unthinkingly arrogrant and obnoxious but they have all been downright maliciously cruel and mean.

Cliff would have gone home either way, his was the worst meal and the judges mentioned that on tape. Cliff was set to leave no matter what.

Elia - did no one see this coming!! Remember when she 'lost it' and smeared chocolate over her face and caused that little episode a while back. Elia can't handle stress or inperfection. She likes to have control and when she can't control things she loses it and does crazy things (things she can control) - she also left the kitchen - I totally lost it for her. She lost my respect as a chef. You don't just quit when things don't go your way. Talk about childish!
Then go and do something stupid like shave your hair because you feel out of control and need to control something so you smear chocolate on your face or shave your hair. Dude, get real!
although i hate to say it but Sam has won the most challenges overall. He may very well win this thing. Aside from the junk he has said he does bring a bit more maturity (might be decieving though) than Marcel in kitchens, but I think Marcel could be potentially a great chef with more to offer than Sam in the long term. Ilain and Elia, nothing there.

It wasn't Sam's responsibility to control it. Cliff is an adult (or at least is of age to be one... lol) and should be (and WAS) held accountable for his actions.

While Sam couldn't have controlled what was happening, he did contribute when he told them to go get Marcel after Marcel had broken free of Cliff and left the room. In this instance, Sam shares in the guilt of the offence.

Anytime you saw a piece of video with the red button and word 'record' in the top left it is the camera they borrowed. But yes, there was other recordings from the camera crew in house.

You could be McDoonald's fry flipper as far as we know. I thought Marcel's potato cannoli was exceptional..as did the guest judge. I'd take his word for it. While the salmon was average, at least it was not something one would not serve in a restaurant, like chocolate/liver truffle.

I doubt he'd be working for Robuchon if he was as bad as you make out.

Sam shined best, foodwise. No doubt about it. Wish he weren't such a wishy-washy leader.

He has a point, remember Marcel was going to try to do some asparagus wrapped in bacon for the kids at camp glucose, before Betty and Frank saved him from himself, not to mention the bacon and avacado icecream.

Very true.

Bacon & Avocado Ice Cream?!What planet is Marcel from anyway?!

UGH!

Those kids at the camp don't realize how lucky they are that the "reasonable minds" of the troop stepped in and thwacked Marcel's idea into the trash.

Hmmm I would tend to think that maybe since Gail has actually met Cliff, there is an off chance he is a good person who made a poor choice. But feel free to analyise away Dr. Phil.

From Gail's blog:
"We, of course, realize that what happened was meant to be a joke and I am certain the chefs wish, just as much as we do, that they could take it all back."

I so stoked for Marcel!! He cud be a Top Chef! He's been the bud of jokes and see him crawl into a hole, but he perseveres as a chef! Although everyone kinda dislikes him.. he is intriging.. and just a little getting to know.. eventually we all begin to like him. I am rooting for Marcel. Yeah! he's short on some things.. but who's perfect! hopefully he will be more humble if he wins... he cud be a great chef and person.. you gotta understand.. some people are different, but when you get to know them they cud be nice to get acquianted with! What has happened to him, put him in a place where he's exposing his vulnerability. I feel sorry for Cliff.. for pulling that prank, but brought out the decent side of Marcel.

Sam should have said STOP!!!
Elia should have said STOP!!
Ilan should have said STOP!!!

JMHO!

Good night ohmy.gif))))

Agreed...it does seem somwhat moot because based on judges statements regarding the dinner I do not think there is any question that Cliff would have been sent home anyways. I also agree that Clif handled his exit gracefully including his goodby to Marcell... he did a much better job of that than Betty.
