Actually if you think back, Pat Robertson was condemned as a nut ball by all news media - liberal or conservative. And, yes, they did run it over and over. Have you forgotten the man ran for President while doing this? LOL And, please, I'm not joining in on a war. Just making a slight correction. You are both very entitled to your opinions.

I guess you remember things differently than I do. I don't remember nearly the frequency of clips, the number of talking heads debating the effect of his comments on the American psyche, the postulating that he was anti-American for saying these things, etc.

And the fact that he was running for president himself should have made the scruity even more important. Of course, the fact that he was a marginal candidate factored into that.

I guess it's just my own perspective about how it's being spun, but I don't think I'm alone.

BTW, I respect McCain for taking the high road, but of course he can do that since all of the side groups are virtually uncontrollable and will Swift Boat Obama in the fal. I just hope it backfires (but I have my doubts).

Well, more likely, it was a case of the editing fairies pushing the "I don't want to use Polish sausage" angle. For all we know, this was a conversation about not liking Polish sausage and the SSes deciding to add a more flavorful sausage to make it more flavorful but the actual purchase and use of the Polish wasn't included because it detracted from the drama aspect of the chorizo.

I'm guessing that Ted knows two sausages when he sees and tastes it on his plate, especially when they're as different as chorizo and Polish sausage are. He even referred to some blog photograph that shows the Polish sausage being prepared by the SSes.

The alternative is that Ted would be willing to lie to protect the producers and I'm just not willing to go there, especially since he seems a little disgruntled with them right now. I think that's he's pretty independent.

Also, everyone who's hung up on rules should read the first part of the current blog. He pretty much says what I've said is the case with the judging and what seems to me to be the correct way to judge a show like this one.

BJ implied (well... more like said straight out) that since I don't keep my station squeeky clean I must be a hack. That doesn't sit too well with me, as I know I'm NOT a hack. My editing bay is messy as all hell too... that doesn't mean I'm not a good filmmaker though!

BUT paper and such is not food.
Being neat and clean in a restaurant is VERY important for so many reasons....I didn't get that till I ws a bit older either.But even
in offices.....We had safety training a couple of days ago and even paper and such can be dangerous.....They take safety and trips and falls very seriously at big companies.

Not just safety alone.
Of course it gets messy when slammed.
But as soon as that is over..get busy cleaning. It's a nightmare for a manager who cares to see messy stations...bJ owned a restaurant and so did I with my hubby....OSHA laws and just all around you godda keep it clean.
If a customer sees a mess....you gonna' go back??? Seriously....it's a statistic.
They won't.

If he called you a hack then I'm gonna' pinch him for you....I really really want to pinch him

Second, you asked what people would do for the QC and EC. I had a thought. I think Mark got at least one foot headed in the right direction on his Quickfire, and just took a wrong turn.

He could have taken that turkey breast cutlet, cut in half, pounded them thin into medallions, and made a quick version of Turkey Marsala within his 15 minutes. In Pan #1 get his turkey sauteeing, in Pan #2 get his mushrooms cooking, add some garlic and shallots and basil when the shrooms are cooked and caramelizing, get the cooked turkey medallions out of Pan #1, deglaze it with the Marsala and dump that into Pan #2, mix some cornstarch with some turkey broth or chicken broth or even mushroom stock, add that to Pan #2. Meanwhile, in Pan #3 already be "melting" some finely minced shallots, just before time runs out add to that pan some watercress and arugula, and some baby spinach too if you want less peppery greens. Those cook in a hot pan in 1.5 minutes, boom.

So, he'd have the rice, some tender moist turkey marsala with abundant sauce and mushrooms, and some instant-cooking greens on the plate as well.
