Fab Five Fan Forum - Part 3 Options

Well - I have all but given up on this forum... and had not been here in AGES...

I've looked around the net and seen all the fansites shut down - one after another - and was deeply saddened to see even Carson's site drop its message boards... all those great old posts... gone...

And today - I'm flipping past Bravo, only to be completely stunned by seeing an ad for QE's return to the Bravo lineup October 2nd!

They say they have 10 final shows filmed (who knows how long ago...) and they will begin airing them October 2nd on Bravo!

Oh well... even if they're the last, it will be sweet to see the Gentlemen Five again.

Looks like it's gonna be a "QE" day on Tuesday. They will be showing the Joe Uva ep and the one where they were at that fraternity.

The pageant was filmed in June of last year, which is a long time, wow. I don't even remember the last episodes to air. I've seen some of the upcoming ones and they're really good, especially one where they all swap jobs -- HILARIOUS!

*cough*The tszuj-it.com fansite is still running, and still updates regularly. It is sad most shut down.

Can't WAIT to see that one.

Back in the hay-day of these boards, there was a great comraderie... but the constant bullying by trolls, the broken promises and unfair edits by the BravoBoardBoss, the lack of consistency in scheduling, and the network's mishandling of the show, made us feel like there were no words posted here that could ever get to our dear Gentlemen Five, or Network Mavens... so many just gave up and left the boards.

Many (like me) have written requests for continuation - with only silence in return.

Today I needed something that took me to Bed Bath and Beyond. I walked throught the store and caught myself asking, What would Thom do with this? What would Jay do with that? OH! That's like something Kyan used... There's a item Ted might put in the kitchen... There's Carson's wooden hangers...

I drove home crying.

I pray they all do well in their lives... but the BBB, Bravo and NBC simply don't care. Writing here would make no difference.

Yeah, there was SOME camaraderie...but who knows why that disappeared. I think those who left the boards, did it for different reasons. I wonder....is Bravo really TOTALLY to blame....?

According to Lifetime, Variety-USA, Hollywood Reporter and numerous other sources, Carson will host the reality show, "How To Look Good Naked" on Lifetime, in January 2008.

OK, now we have Thom and "Dress my Nest"; Ted and "Uncorked" on PBS; Jai and his new competition show on MTV ("Shower Power") and Carson's upcoming show.

It was cancelled because the Fab Five's contracts were ending, and they decided not to re-sign. Doing Queer Eye was a huge undertaking and was stopping them from pursuing other jobs or spending much time with their families and partners, so I don't blame them for wanting to quit. The ratings hadn't been that great, either. Bravo didn't really have a choice, unless they cast a new Fab Five.

Most of them are working on new shows now, so at least they are still on TV, even if it's not together. Ted's on 'Top Chef' and has a PBS wine show called 'Uncorked' airing next month; Jai's on 'Styleyes Miami' on SiTV and is recording an album; Thom's doing 'Dress My Nest' on the Style Network; and Carson has two reality shows, "Crowned" on CW and "How to Look Good Naked" on Lifetime, both premiering next January.

Yeah, they're really branching out...am anxious to know what Kyan is planning to do next.

Can't get enough of the Fab Five? Share the love here.

Hi everyone, I love the show! Just witnessed watching a beautiful wedding with Laura and Joe. I couldn't find the episode #, but I wanted to tell everyone you guys did an absolutely fantastic job. That was a beautiful wedding... I'm very, very happy for them, and if they see this, I wish them the best in life. I believe in their, true love. Please keep doing a great job... I will try and get my schedule under MY control, so I can stay updated with the show. Take care : )

Anywhoo, wasn't it great to see everyone together last night? And the 'pageant' was just so perfectly QE--fun but with the SG's heartfelt thanks thrown in.
I'm happy for George and he looked 'radiant' in his crown, but my number one SG still is and probably always will be John K. Probably has something to do with age--we COULD date if he were willing to come to Colorado. So, til I find the right thread let this be my comment. And welcome back Fab Five, even if it's only for a short time.
Oh, P.S. Did you see Jai getting his lips done on Dr. 90210? Not necessary in my opinion, but I'm happy he's happy.

It was WONDERFUL to see all the former Make Betters - I just wish the two Marks had made it - Mark Faries and the golfing teacher. I was not at all happy to see Alan C.... but that's just an old lemon from far far back in the original board posts...

John Kilcooley was bar FAR the sharpest dressed in that suit - and ...well... I should just go to the individual Gentlemen's threads and comment when I have time.

I was SO proud of George K's chasing his dream! Congrats on the win, hon! And since Adam Zolta doesn't have a thread - it was LOVELY to see you hon!

I think this is the Board of Total Abandonment as far as the moderators are concerned. They didn't do much of a job during the last season, so I was afraid they'd completely ignore it now. It is a shame we can't start threads ourselves.

Are the other boards this neglected? I don't care for any of the other Bravo shows so don't check in on any of them.

And it was such fun seeing so many of the straight guys again - I kept trying to see families too and caught a glimpse of several wives and girlfriends in the audience, but am going to watch it more closely tonight.

Oh, it's OOOOOLLLLLLLLLDDDDD- I really think it was filmed last summer. I saw a clip on YouTube ages ago - I'm pretty sure it's been at least a year. I recall speculating about this time last year that SURELY they'd start showing the fourth season soon. Then I thought surely it would be after Christmas. It's certainly drug on.

I know - Jai's hair looked like it did after he got that tight cut before going back to do "RENT" on Broadway. Carson's was styled too high in the back... but I remember that cut from ages ago too...

I was happy to personally hear from a couple of fans who watched the show last night. I enjoyed the second show more than the first but it was SO good to see all of the guys again. Wasn't surprised that George K won....but I felt a little bad for John K...especially after the "Grooming competition". (lol) George K has a page on MySpace, btw.
