What did you think of this wannabe model?

I missed Thom so much at the beginning of the episode that it was difficult for me to get into it. We had already been forewarned in the episode synopsis before it was snatched away, but it was still traumatic for me. Even the rest of the FF seemed slightly lost and bored without Thom. The reveal in the loft was hysterical though. (Sorry, Jesan.) And, Kyan, you were spot on about the inappropriate remarks made by Dena at the table with Mom. Jesan should lose your number if he cut his hair?!?! I hope that's not a true reflection of the depth of your relationship. The photographs of Jesan were excellent and with all the connections the Fab 5 were able to arrange, Jesan just might be a success.....if he can just get those gosh darned sunglasses out of his hair!

Jesan is going to need a whole lot more than great photos and a haircut to make it as a waiter, much less a model. First, how about a personality transplant? And then, maybe, just a bit of intelligence? He couldn't even remember the name of the photographer. The Queer Eye guys gave him more than the chance of a lifetime ... with GQ, Levi's, and People Espaņol ... and he's listless in his response. He'll make it modeling only if there's a new fashion of "comatose ennui" for models. Thank God Thom told it like it was during the loft segement.

Yeah, this one was kind of a yawner without Thom for so much of the first part. I wasn't crazy about that one ages ago where Carson was missing during the beginning either. But the loft part made up for the rest. Yay for Snarky Thom!
I got the impression they were all bored with Jesan too. And even in the loft, they were getting sidetracked and joking around with each other instead of paying much attention to the reveal. Which made the whole thing even funnier to me.

I think "comatose ennui" IS the fashion for models - he's probably perfect for it! I kept telling myself that you don't really HAVE to have much personality to be a model - personality is probably a drawback, actually. Carson did say Jesan was shy, but he'll at least need to develop some manners. And he DID really perk up when he was with his family and girlfriend.
I found it kind of funny that getting him a restaurant job was such a big deal. A runner job. Wow, that sounds like lots of fun! Working in a restaurant staffed with model-wanta-be's! You'd think he would have figured out he needed a night job on his own.
I have to admit I find most models REALLY boring. The guy who took Thom's place was okay, but still. I can't even remember his name, which is probably kind of sad.

raindog, the "stand in" model was Tyson Beckford.......and although I agree with you, in his defense, he was a bit more lively when he was interviewed on Oprah. Of course, as I stated in my first post, I spent a good deal of this episode moaning Thom's name so I may have missed anything exciting that happened. The loft was definitely the highlight.......most of us already knew that the humor and chemistry of the FF is more than just QE which is why I've always hoped they would find other projects to do together in addition to QE. (Anyone interested in seeing them do a t.v. movie? I just happen to know of a screenplay..........)

It appears Thom is the one that keeps the show moving....not that the others can't. Guess its his wild personality and laughter, again the others have their own unique talents and personality. Thom knows where its at...(most of the time???)

Can anyone tell me what the brand of water was that Kyan gave Jesan? I would love to try some! Thank you!

My two favorites moments in the ep were the slap fight and Kyan snarking on Ted and then tacklehugging him. Both of which took place in the loft. Other than that, this one was kind of a yawner. Poor Ted didn't seem to have much to do apart from getting Jesan a restaurant job fit for a 16 year-old, and I also missed Thom in the beginning.

Welcome, spgirl66......it's exciting to see peeps are still discovering this message board!
I watched this episode again last night and I'm feeling a little nicer about it now that I'm over the shock of missing Thom for the first half. When they're in the loft and the guys mentioned that they missed Tyson, Thom said, "I think he's a much better version of me."
..............um.........how can I put this delicately and not lose my usual aplomb............(Tomasulo throws her head back and opens her mouth wide)......NOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!
As a side note, how beautiful was Jesan's younger brother!!!! I see another model in the family!!!!

I KNOW - Tyson (thanks for the memory prod!) was perfectly nice - but was NO Thom. Not even in the same stratosphere.

I thought it was a yawner, as well. This guy kinda reminds me of Dave Navarro because to me, it almost appeared like he was wearing eyeliner, even though he wasn't. Probably just thick lower lashes. Those were some impressive shots of him, and I couldn't believe that he got to go to GQ right off the bat like that. I don't think his GF needed a boob job at all. The flavored water that Ky was mentioning can also be found in some Sephora shops. I think sometimes they give tiny samples of it in the stores, so I may have tasted it once, not bad.

When they'd straighened his hair and he was shaving, I thought, "Who is that woman, and why is she shaving her FACE???"

And with all the help the guys gave him, he almost left his bag behind!
I liked that Tyson was a part of this ep but I was glad to see Thom's return....

As for the quantities, I have no idea. I think you got all the ingrediants. I had that as well the 2nd time I watched the episode.
It would be GREAT if Bravo included a spot to showcase what Tom has helped the Straight Guys make. I don't care if it's difficult or easy. Most everything he suggests sounds droolingly good. Tom's underrated and he deserves a place to showcase his recipes!

Oh my goodness, do I love this show. I watch every episode! I don't care that I am female, straight and a conservative - I learn something new and wonderful each and every time I watch the shows.
Your tips and things that you do for the people are wonderful, but what is even better is the way that you treat each and every person that you cross paths with. LOVE IT.
You sure are the FAB 5! I will be a loyal fan forever.

Greetings and welcome to the forum, hon! Very few of us come here anymore since the show was cancelled and the other primary fan websites have closed.
One that is still running is Carson's site - and there may be folks there that remember this information for you.
http://www.carsonkressley.comSign up to be able to post to the message boards there - and they can probably help you.
Peace hon! --De
