What did you think of the final table in New Orleans?

What the heck happened to this show???? Please Get PHIL GORDON BACK!! No Pollack, No Helmouth, PHIL GORDON, and please limit Dave's bar tab so he can't get so far under!! He was great with Phil Gordon, a little toasted, but functional & understandable, we like him tipsy, but not obliterated!! It is part of card playing, it belongs!! But now it seems he's drinking to kill the pain of having to sit there with Phil H! Let him grow his moustach back, and sit him back over on the couch, and stop fooling with chemistry!! Phil G & Foley were perfect, they had that old Burt Reynolds, Dom Deluise, so unfunny that it's hilarious thing goin so good, it was the pefect compliment to the card playing... By the way, you even managed to make Jason Alexander unfunny, (maybe it was the editing, is that someone new too?) didn't think it was possible, but ya pulled it off... Bravo!! :-( PLEASE PUT THE SHOW BACK THE WAY IT WAS!! What were you thinking?? ;-) .... gg

Hey all, it's been a LONG time since I've posted. Wow, things have changed... I think Phil H seems more comfortable in front of the camera at the beginning of his hosting gig than Phil G did, but Phil G was my absolute EYE CANDY by the end of his gig, along with improving and relaxing his onscreen presence (I'm just rambling here). Ok, my point in posting: I have it on good authority that one of the reasons Phil G left the show was because of Dave's foul mouth. My friend, who works at the Palms, said Dave was one of the most vulgar people she'd heard in a while. I didn't witness this personally, so I'm not saying with 100% certainty, but I wouldn't be surprised. But if that wasn't the reason, perhaps Phil G just got tired of the celebrities not listening to his instruction. Oh well... I miss him on the show. By the way, I heard Phil G finally has a girlfriend! Yay for him! ;-)

My husband and I (who never even understood poker until he met me) used to LOVE the show. Foley is quirky, but hilarious and Phil Gordon is one of the nicest guys in poker. Hellmuth is an egotistical fruitcake. A good poker player, of course, but his personality leaves much to be desired.

Now that Hellmuth has replaced Phil Gordon, we've sworn off the show. We won't be watching again until Phil Gordon returns. The last thing this vast universe needs is ONE MORE forum for Phil Hellmuth to stroke his own ego and I refuse to support it.

Jason Alexander won the tournament final, aired July 5, 2006. He came back from having been down to $11,000 in chips, with Michael Ian Black having had nearly 80% of the chips on the table. Alexander's comeback is the best in the history of the show. Robin Tunney, who also had a dramatic shift in chip totals during the game, finished a strong second to Alexander after Black's collapse. Tunney's won $200,000 for her charity, while Alexander's received $500,000.

I don't know what this site is all about, but it is too cluttered, too distracting, and there are too many links to click on! I JUST WANTED TO POST A COMMENT AFTER WATCHING THE SHOW - Not have to search through jungles of blogs and miscellaneous other visuals that are slow-loading and irrelevant!! Argh!

Okay, hopefully a board manager reads that.. on to the comment. I just finished watching the (8th?) poker championship with Seth (SNL) and Dave Navarro as the finalists. The game must be rigged! The last two deals before the end of the game: The first deal showed a set of 8's and an Ace on the turn, among other cards. Seth won that hand. The deal immediately after that came up with paired 8's at the flop, and an Ace on the turn! The Ace which gave him a pair, which made him the champion! The 8's did not contribute to the winning hand, but it clearly showed me that there was poor shuffling involved, which leads me to believe there may be foul play on the producer's part.

Come ON!!! That is completely ridiculous!! There was an Ace that turned up on the first hand (of the two last deals), and an Ace also showed up the last hand. Fair play?? I think not. Tell someone to pay better attention, and shuffle the damn cards next time. B.S!!!
