I work at a gym in another state, and if this is what the trainers are like in California....I am NOT impressed. The trainers at my little gym are MUCH better. Not a professional place at all......but she must be doing well, she has a great car and awesome house. The whole Mimi Jackie thing is pathetic. Actually, the whole show is so contrived....I do not think that any of these people or this gym are interesting enough to warrant a show.....I fell asleep it was so dull.......

Thought this show would be about the world of training, some sort of competition or at least a look at the true work that goes into being a trainer. This show is boring. The people are shallow and except for Jacki don't appear to be very smart; still, if she is smart enough to have gotten to this level, why does she have these people working for her? I could not care less about Mimi. The drama is even more artificial than most reality shows. I gave it 90 minutes of my time, that's it. Come on, Bravo, you can do better. Give me a show where the talent of the people involved (Runway, Top Chef) outweights their personal quirks. Will not waste one more minute of my time on this show.

Preface: I realize that this show is 'designed' to increase the drama in these people's lives but...
From a leadership point of view it doesn't seem that getting drunk with your employees sets a good example. Having a few cocktails, a nice dinner or an activity like a Dodgers baseball game is probably the best way to show appreciation for your employees in a relaxed environment.
Going on a drama-filled, innuendo-fest for the weekend seems like it blurs the line between professional and personal.
As a 'boss' one needs to establish authority and 'acceptable' behavior. Once employees (espcially young people) view each other in terms of personal items (such as fav sex position, turn-ons, best sex experience, bad family history etc.) it's hard for an employer to flip the switch and focus on work (as a professional).
When I go to the supermarket I don't want the bagger to be discussing the detailed exploits of last night's date with the checker. But he may be too immature to realize what he's doing.
I think everyone on the show is painfully good-looking but think Jackie needs to mature a bit (perhaps date someone her own age? mid-life crisis?), Erika needs to get off her high horse (she's hot - but she actually needs to open up MORE) Brian needs to do both.
But basically I watch because I like looking at good looking people....

Am I the only person who was shocked by the trainer Rebecca showing inappropriate sexual photos to both customers and other trainers? In any other office in America that would be considered sexual harrasement and the person would be fired immediately. I think Jackie left herself and her business open to a law suit, when her Erica complained and said she felt uncomfortable, that alone should have sparked a more serious discussion on appropriate behaviors or dismisal of Rebecca immediately.

Who cares what mimi does or where she is from , not meaning to come off rude by what would any woman want such a juvenile and insecure young lady as your partner. I mean one day she will find her way hopefully but other than eye candy for someone why else would you dig any deeper.
Yes I know it's an edited show an perhaps her whole/self is not being shown but what you know for sure is that she didn't make up the parts we have seen and that is enought drama to last anyone in any relationship.
I hope Jackie finds someone who is more her equal emotionally .
Now all that aside it's been really entertaining seeing someone who is so tough at work seem so soft and vulnerable to a young silly girl. Oh what love will do to you!

The show is great….its about time Bravo started to feature Gay Women…especially someone one who is successful and passionate about their career and who seems to care about getting people into shape instead of getting some kind of surgery to alter their appearance. The drama is normal…. Those guys are nothing compared to people I work with …I think Jackie should drop Mimi and hook up with Erika….but I think she like’s the drama, it just seems that way to me

Having worked as a trainer for several years I was very interested in this show. I've watched both episodes and I"ve been reading the posts on the boards and I'm amazed at how many people take this show so seriosly and are dissapointed that it's not about fitness. Frankly, I never thought from the advertisements that it was about fitness. this show is about ENTERTAINMENT and DRAMA and what happens in this type of environment just like Blow Out isn't about Hair. By the way I used to be a hair dresser and I worked for someone that was just like Johnathan, they could have been brothers.
If the show motivates someone to get in shape, great. whatever it takes. Do I think the trainers on the show are all that, NO. In my experience they are average based on what I've seen. I know much better trainers. do I think they are always professional, no. but what goes on at Jackie's gym is the same BS that goes on in any gym accross the country.
Do I think Jackie is good at what she does, yes. I think she is very smart. From what I can see she cares about teaching good form and about building something. would I work for her, probably-but we would have to get a proper squat rack and olympic bench. do I have issues with things I see going on there, sure, but it's not my place to judge.
it's just a show about people who work in a gym-that's it.

I think that's the norm for LA (smile-at least what I've seen on TV).
The real crime is talking about A-list clients; all I've seen is an 80's pop-starlet, a soap-opera guy who's on the last leg of his career in soaps, and the son of an actor most young ones (I am 40 and barely remember him-grin) haven't heard of, and I've certainly not had the son on my radar. C'mon, where's the A-list clients you train????? Where's Kathy G. when you need her??? Now, that would give Sky some press.
All in all, Jackie must be some kind of business savvy;otherwise we wouldn't be dishing about her now:::
I'm not sold, but it's intriguing enough to keep me watching-for now (she says, mildly embarrassed)

I like the show. And I am reading through this thread thinking there are some people out there taking this waaaaaayyy too serious. It is a "reality" show - it is meant to be pure entertainment.
I wanted to watch this because I work out and am interested in the tips and tidbits they share from a gym perspective. I also watch because it is interesting to see a "slice of life" from Jackie and her trainers. Getting a behind the scenes look at a workplace and the group dynamics between the employees is fun.

I just starting watching the show and I think it's a pretty good show. Yeh, they get a little katty but, in any work place it happens. And so what if Rebecca showed a pic of her bf's penis, are we in school where we can't see the human body? It's one of those things where if you don't want to or don't like it leave, turn the channel or shut up! And as for Mimi, maybe Jackie likes the challenage. I think Jackie and all her trainers seem like their cool people and I would love to meet them and have the chance to learn a few things from them all.

I have to be honest the only word I could come up with was contrived. Before I get bombarded here...yes I understand that there is a considerable amount of editing. It has to be done or people like us wouldn't watch. (But lest we forget the "wonderful" Queer Eye for the Straight Girl...The first girl they choose 5'7", about 120lbs, blonde and a slob...yeah that was hard).
Jackie is going to come out looking bad because she is a woman who is successful in her profession. What woman doesn't come out looking bad there? But the whole relationship thing with Mimi? Their so called fights are just lame and stupid. IN MY OPINION nothing interesting going on here. So until I can find a show that shows real women living and not just playing for the camera because of what might or might not look good I am going to pass on this show. Thanks anyway Bravo

I think it's pretty obvious that Jackie is feeling the strain of her relationship with Mimi. Serious trust issues. It's also obvious that she cares deeply for Mimi. Perhaps they can work things out. They need to consider couples therapy.

I've watched the first 2 episodes of the show, and I have to say i'm kinda neutral about it thus far. I love Jackie, she's good looking, got great style, great hair. But Lord knows, she needs help with that Mimi. Ugh, I don't even know where to begin with her. I can't believe how immature, and insecure Mimi is. It's like everytime Jackie and Mimi get together Mimi's always mad about something, and you can tell it by the look on her face.
Yea I know, editting, blah blah blah.. but I tell you, I don't see how Jackie put up with it for 4 years, scratch that probably 3 years, cuz Mimi probably didn't start showing her true colors till after a year. The only thing I can come up with from what i've seen so far is that Jackie likes living like this, like someone else said, she likes to be in control of the work place and all, cuz you really have to be, but in a relationship she's a little on the passive side. But hey, if she likes it that way, more power to her. But from what i've seen I think she can do better, she needs someone who's more stable, being she's getting middle aged and wanting a family.
I'm liking all the trainers so far, except Rebecca. She's unprofessional and too flirty. I take sides with Erika on that one. Brian, is too cocky, among other things. I don't know about Jesse, he seems like a yacker, and Erika, Doug, Zen, and Dre are cool with me.
I'm ready to see what the next episode holds.

I have to admit it, I have never watched a “reality” series before. The first episode was a free ITunes download so I watched it… then I bought the 2nd. I love it! As a dedicated gym individual I have seen every type of person in and out of the gym and each trainer on the show is fun to watch. Jackie is the most interesting of all her staff! She is so on top of her game and it so contradicts her personal relationship. We’ve all dated the wrong people and her long term is just so the opposite of her successful management style… her attempts to communicate with her girlfriend just mirror so many bad relationships. It’s not easy to watch her calmly try to console and attempt to communicate with someone else who is so self absorbed and immune to supporting her it is sad to watch…. I hope she rises above and moves forward… if her partner was working for her, I don’t think she’d make it to the 2nd day. Love it! Keep it up!

I agree with you steve, it's uncomfortable watching Jackie sit back and take that from her gf when we all see that at work she's a different person, but some people are like that. Maybe she'll put her foot down soon. Until then, albeit it's kinda sad, I don't mind the drama too much. Makes for good tv.

so yes i know that i am only 15 years old and I am deaf and maybe not know lot bout this show but i been watch workout for while now and they keep rerun each episode. i like jackie she is cool. my mom is a personal trainer who owns her own gym here in montana and she is same way with her trainers "its my way or highway"
but what i hate bout the show is the stupid trainers none of them seem to know what they are doing. espeically brian and rebecca omg does that slut need to go. she needs to fire rebecca so much.
I love mimi i think she is total hottie and if jackie doesn't want mimi i will take her she is such a hotttie. i love how she bites jackie all the time. way go mimi haha....but i do think it was Jackie fault for them breaking up. because you know Jackie could of invited her to go to the bootcamp with them and then she was on her phone and told mimi she would call her later but never did. and Jackie tried lie to mimi about it. so no i think mimi was right to throw a fit with jackie. I personally think that they need to work out their relationship because think they make such a cute couple.

as an example - she shows up for jackie's dinner party for her mom in jeans and a t-shirt chewing on gum like a cow. and you wonder why jackie's mom doesn't want to accept the fact that you are with her daughter? is jackie's mom anti-gay? yes.. which i totally disagree with.. but something tells me that when/ if jackie meets the "right" woman.. one who treats her with unconditional love and respect.. and that makes jackie truly happy.. then i'm thinking mom might start to "come around". how could any mother be happy with jackie and mimi's relationship? there is so much angst and drama. again.. good tv.. bad relationship.. and i hate to tell jackie this.. but if she does take it up a notch and have mimi move in w/ her.. things will get so much more volatile.. relationships like that are always rocky.. add 24/7 and you have disastrous! I honestly believe that as well...If Jackie finds that awesome lady...Jackie's mom would be happy for her--of course. Mimi is a cutie but such a nut-case!

I think Jackie is grounded and obviously at peace with herself. I am a conservative, and after watching the show with her mom, I could not believe how restrained and patient she was with her. I do not agree with her mom, I am a conservative that believes people are genetically born gay, and do not 'choose' the lifestyle. I think the way Jackie respects her mom, even though she may disagree with her, is commendable. Everyone will always have difference of opinions, but respect and tolerance is the key.

Yeah, I agree with the 3% body fat; let's keep it real though and understand that the 97% drama in 'reality' is 'manufactured' by producers/script writers. Someone in a previous post brought up the fact that while Jackie is away, why wouldn't her gf watch her house? You know why? Because that wouldn't make good TV -- not as good as the 'new guy' (which I don't get why she'd let the newbie take care of her house, except for the fact that he's going to piss her off and the other trainers are going to make a muck of her pad). How exciting would it be to see whacked out Mimi watering her plants and feeding the dogs? BORING.
Although this show is coming across as a bit contrived, I still enjoy it and will watch.
Regarding her trainers: on the 'reality' show they make it appear that the group shown are her only crew, when in fact she's got about half a dozen more. Perhaps the others didn't make the 'cut' when producers scoped out the trainers....or they didn't want cameras up in their 'grills' while they worked.
Oh well...I'm just waiting for the episode where Jackie tells Mimi to go pound sand. Any idea what that little Brazillian nutcase does for a living? Just curious.....

okay is it just me or did anyone else feel that mimi was totally attacking/ instigating jackie's mom? i could tell that jackie's mom was not comfortable but she didn't appear to be very outspoken about it.. but mimi seemed to be "bating" her.. almost "attacking" her.. starting controvertial subjects that she knew would be an issue w/ her mom.. and when jackie's mom was pushed too far she just informed mimi in no uncertain terms that she was not about to "engage" w/ her. (i actually don't really even like jackie's mom but i have to have some respect for her keeping her thoughts to herself, except when pushed by mimi and the fact that although she in no way agrees w/ how her daughter is living her life she clearly loves her daughter regardless.. i just have to respect that about her)

This show is seriously edited because in like the first or second episode they introduce the newbie and then in the third episode the guy you see him training a lady and he said he had been training or for like 2 or 3 months. But I agree there is a script because during the credits I could have sworn I saw something that said "script editors"
Not only are there more trainers but Jackie did not create Sky Sport and she is co-owner. I would love to find the reason behind making it seem like Jackie is the only person and there only a handful of trainers.
I think Mimi is a trainer also but she doesnt seem to be as well off because in the webisodes it shows her aparment which seems to be very um compact haha. You would think being in a cramped apartment with a one eyed cat will teach you to change your ways so you could move into your g/fs nice house but nope I guess not.

Although I find the show entertaining at times, it really comes across too scripted. Jackie and Mimi have very little chemistry together, they don't come across as a real couple. Mimi probably is a big part of the problem in that equation, don't find her personality or looks appealing-hard to believe Jackie would put up with such a sour puss. I like watching Jackie as a business owner best of all, though I find most of the trainers not too believable either-kind of dubious that a top gym in LA would have mostly mediocre trainers such as these-and I swear two of the women are actresses that I've seen somewhere else. So are these real trainers? hmm... Still, the show is kind of fun to watch. JMO

Jackie is my new hero. I identify with her so much, especially with her struggles with her mother. The episode made me cry because even though I'm a strait woman, my mother and i constantly fight over my life choices and I also question her acceptance of me. I look forward to upcoming episodes.

I've heard there are only six episodes of Workout? I absolutely love this show and I'm very picky about TV shows. If you're reading this, could you please let Jackie know how inspirational she is and I hope she agrees to more episodes. She's great. I'm hoping she might write a book about fitness and nutrition as well. She seems on top of her game and is in fantastic shape.

I am shocked by your appearance here on the boards.
I understand your need to go on the boards and defend yourself, but truly, the way you acted on the show and I know it is somewhat for ratings is damn right awful.
The time you walked out on Jackie. If I hada girlfriend as half as confident as Jackie seems, I would support her not comdemn her for hanging out with her employees every now and then.
I mean geez if she is as busy as it seems on the show between clients and getting her spa off the ground, she desreves a little credit and breathing room.
Umm you both have been together for what? 4 years now, honey if you do not trust her by now than you must rethink what you are doing with her.
By the way, I do not speak for everyone her only myslef, but if you decide to put your life and relationship on display for the public, than remember that you may get some hits flown your way.
People have opionions, right or wrong like or not. Quite frankly you said in your statement that you and Jackie are not doing well or that the cameras paint it this way. I wish Jackie could do on the boards and tell us too.
You never truly really know someone until you live or work with them.
I do believe that your behavior if that is truly how you are, you and I would not be friends. You may be the soap opera reality show diva. They may love to hate you, but remember girl, at least they know you bad or good.
When this reality show retires like some of the rest who will remember you? Maybe some of us.
I do enjoy the show,I admit it. I have your girlfriends picture on my screensaver. It reminds me of how I would like to look more like. Jackie is hot, but more importantly it seems like she has a good outlook on life and picture of health.
I know you have strong opinions much like us, but the way you treated her mother was wrong. You can not win with a fool. Their are people Mimi who will like you and hate you for the wrong and right reasons. Her mother is set in her ways she may never chnage but you can. Seeing you disrespect her mother is like disrespecting Jackie as well.
That is her mother! she loves her mom however their relationship maybe. You only get one mother and if you are fortunate to get parenst than kudos for you.
Some people do not have that luxury. It is obvious that Jackie still wants her mom in her life and wants a good relationship. It shows. She wants wants every child wants., for her mom to love her unconditonally and to be proud of her as well.

Mimi, if this is really you just want to say hang in there. I've been reading these boards and see how cruel and ridiculous people can be. Anyone though with half a brain knows how these shows are mostly scripted and edited. You're obviously a talented and strong woman with alot of passion. Don't let these bozos get to you!
