Hello! I am so excited for this show!! I live in RI and started weight training @ 2 years ago (a reformed cardio addict). I love to learn about new, cutting edge (and challenging!) programs. I also attempt to focus my time on those exercises that are proven to be the most effective. Where can someone like me turn to in order to research these sorts of questions? Are there any great websites -- or books -- that you would recommend? Thanks so much!

I can't wait for the show to begin. I'm starting a weight loss journey and it's going to be a long trip with 122 pounds to lose, lost 12 so far after 6 weeks. I need all the help and inspiration I can get. Excited for your show Jackie!

I am looking forward to this show. Jackie, judging from the commericals, seems to be a motivating leader--she should make a good jumping off point for the show. I have been going to the gym for years and its always great to have another motivating factor to help get your butt into the gym. The trainer I am most interested in seeing is Doug. He's only a year younger than me--I like his philosophy and his story. Hopefully, they will give him enough face time on the show. I hope this show lives up to most of my expectations.

I'm excited, too. When I first saw the billboards, I stopped in my tracks. Jackie looks both demanding and fun -- and super hot! Since their tag line is 97% drama, I hope there's a lot of it. From the looks of the group of fit, sexy trainers, there's gotta be. I'm totally Tivoing it... seems like summer fun!
And I think Doug is the hottest guy -- and he's the oldest! Right on.

As a professional in the fitness field I have to say that the trailers for the show have intrigued me, Jackie appears to be an engaging business personality and looks like a good athlete too.
But I'm not too impressed by the crew of trainers, except for Zed (sp?) *34yo lady; except for her and Jackie rest of them don't even look like they hit the gym hard.
But I'll be watching. Bravo's show's are wonderful.

so far the show has really made me want to work out which is good since i've gained about 80 lbs. in the past 3 or 4 years. can't wait to see what else happens.
this may be a stupid thing to ask, but did anyone notice Jackie's necklace (silver chain with knot and then extra chain hanging down)? I LOVE that necklace and want one for myself. does anyone know where to get it or one like it???

I know the drama will be there, but being a former trainer I really want to see what the trainers can do with their clients. Are they "flash" or the goods? I like Jackie a lot! No [censored] is the only way to go in this industry.

Great first show. I am on day 3 of of The Ultimate NY Body Plan. I am a long-time weightlifter & cardio fan (off and on). Currently 15 pounds out of shape...just need some strength and some toning. Starting over...again. Re: the trainers. I can't remember the name, but the flirty one? Totally unprofessional. I don't care if she is in an environment that is blowing sex like pixie dust all over, if she wants to be taken seriously she needs to zip it and do her job. Keep the flirting reserved for her friends OUT OF THE WORKPLACE. Jackie is a gem. Fun, but serious about her business. She doesn't need that crap bringing it down. Brian? He is not all that like he think he is. It's disgusting, his attitude! He needs to look at his second chance as a supreme warning (he's lucky) to get his mind/method reorganized. If he is worried about losing his clients...he SHOULD be. When he's owner/boss, he can do things...as Jackie says, "my place, my rules."

i totally agree with everything mountainmover said. but of course Bravo did warn us "3% body fat, 97% drama" so whatever....
the show looks interesting and i enjoyed tonights episode, so it should be fun.
i think they should start a thread on here about "win a date with Erika". i mean, she's beautiful, has an amazing boss behind her that trusts and respects her, so she had issues in her past, we all have. so yeah Bravo should do a quick "win a date with Erika". fun for the whole family. she did say she was single and looking....or maybe i read that whole looking part into it....it's just an idea.

Jackie has a dynamic workout facility & is a brillant trainer & business woman. She has a solid group of trainers who are an asset to her business. However Brian and Rebecca are not the type of trainers I would want training my clients. I am a personal trainer, and if I was to own my own business they would never have the opportunity to even get past the front door. Their lack of professionalism and flirtaciousness is enough to make you have their certifications shredded. Erika is Jackie's right hand and confidant, and Andre, Zen, Jesse & Doug are an asset to Sky Sport & Spa. I will be a weekly watcher to see how this series evolves.

I like the show. Bravo did a great job. Jackie seems to be great trainer. It is very interesting to see how she deals with ego and big personality amony employees. Oh I agree Doug is hot. Sorry for being superficial. I would love to be trained by him even though I am not close to 40. Brain adds drama to the show so of course he will not be fired. I am looking forward to seeing more of Doug and Brain..

disappointing!! this show was horrible to say the least. me and my girlfreinds got togther to watch it bc we were so psyched about it. ew. it was terrible!!! the "characters" are lame. doug- gross, and that accent, ew. rebecca- cute but annoying. erika- she looks like a man. poofy collagened lips are just nasty. she calls herself a "trainer" it doesnt look like she or any of the other ones work out. i mean the camera adds 10 lbs, but cmon ppl how are we supposed to take this show seriously. jackie just wants to be the female lesbian version of jonathan from blowout and she just aint cuttin it. WORST show ever. That's an hour of my life i'm not gonna get back, def not gonna watch this lame excuse for a show.

hmm first time posting.
as a trainer I can relate to this show that's why I registered.
I can not say I'm not a high level trainer b/c i don't work with famous clients or athletes. And I have been training only part time for 2 years and I can say is that i have been successful to a degree. But what I can say is that I was not all that impressed but what I saw in the trainers. Sure, they all have personalities to be good with people but I did not see a fierce hardcore trainer. The girl I saw that I know is good is the brunette that is conservative about things, she is classy and confident. Some people you can just read you know. anyway, I'm going dvr the episodes and pick up some tips from this show b/c the owner is ballsy. I like her straight up in your face approach that;s the way gyms should be run. I would of loved to be in that bald head guys (brian I think) shoes when she was drilling him and making feel insecure I thrive on that stuff, I would of put on an amazing show..and proving to people that im the best. i just love training.
like i said I'm going to keep watching and keep learning.

okay i just saw the training tip by erkia that was weak.
talk about form on the lunges. her knees kept going past her toes & her knee behind was going all the way down. not unless you want some cracking noises coming out of your knees woul i recommed people to do it in that form.

It's my understanding that Jillian Michael was/is a co-owner of Sky Sport and Spa
http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser/about...t/jillian.shtml (of The Biggest Loser show). To have her and Jackie as trainers and co-owners makes a lot of sense to me as far as committment, energy, education and passion. Too bad she seems to have left the busines.
It's really too soon (only one episode) to judge the level of expertise of the rest of Jackie's trainers - give it another show or two. And readers be reminded, Jackie is not the producer of this first five shows and has been quoted as saying she fought the producers to keep all the irrelevant drama off the show but didn't win all the battles thus we see her relationship issues all over our tv's. That's a reflection of Bravo, not Jackie who DOES NOT do the filming or editing.
As a woman and a lesbian, and a person interested in a more fit world, I will watch this show and take away what has value for me - giving lesbian successful business women visibility. Hey, it was just in the 1950's that women were being discouraged from engaging in sports and being encouraged to stay in the kitchen, cook and have kids.
Bravo Jackie!

Erika's body did not impress me the most. If I were going to work out and needed help it would be hard for me to go to her and expect results. The best and hottest female bod besides Jackie is Rebecca's. Regardless of the flirting. Some people need that (Rebecca's personality) to keep them going. Everyone has different personalities. I would totally go see Rebecca or Zen before I would see Erika because of Erika's attitude. Being that serious all of the time ages people. She totally should loosen up on Rebecca. She called herself old or said she was getting older. That really made me ill. I am 29 and I don't think I am "getting old"--- not a good emotional way to think of herself. Obviously she has some personal issues upstairs. Rebecca pretty much knows when and where to flirt-- except ---Rebecca on top of the country bumpkin trainer... that was a little over the line. The way she works out with people, how she interacts---brilliant. It looked as if she were getting the job done to me. If Jackie thought it was that horrible and that it would not benefit her gym-- she would have been out. Jackie is smart and KNOWS that her clients have different personalities. There are SEVERAL clients for Rebecca's personality. Some would call her a slut/annoying--- I liked her and I am a person that does not warm up to others quite well at all. She didn't strike me as a slu*. She does not seem like an attention w h o r e either. Some people are just like that. Rebecca's clients obviously don't mind or they would not keep coming back to her. Rebecca is an asset to Jackie.
I think that a website needs to be started like fans did for Spears... the dump K-Fed site. www.dumpmimi.com --

Couldn' t have said it better IowaPoet. The most important thing is to final a qualified trainer that you have chemistry with. Frankly if I had to work out with Erika after sitting in an office all day I would hardly be motivated. She's way too stuffy for me. I think someone like Rebecca would make it fun and challenging. Plus she obviously puts her own hard work into her body so I imagine she brings that to her clients as well.

The others seem more dedicated to helping people and not hooking up with people. I'll keep watching for sure.

i agree, whole heartedly. i live in la and go to a gym where all the trainers look like they have been working out forever and they look hot. erika looks like she doesnt work out at all. she has pink's (the singer) belly, very manish. and i heard shes in her 30's, not 27 like she claims! she needs to remove the pole from her ass and lighten up working out should be fun and motivating like rebecca's personlaity and not stuffy like erika. she's trying to be teacher's pet. get a life, its just woking out!

Yeah Jackie!
The first episode opens up so many threads...
It is the first episode and it would be foolish to judge the show, the trainers, their lives and abilities on one episode.
But....I've read here that some people think Mimi is being portrayed by the editors as mean. I don't want to judge, but if Jackie has to say "Don't leave a scar this time" then Mimi has done this before. She is abusive and without knowing Jackie, we don't know why she doesn't see the abuse, or why she is willing to tolerate the insecurity, the anger, and the lack of respect Mimi has shown in this episode.
We don't know why Brian comes across as an egomanic or why Rebecca acts as if her only selling point is being a flirt and a tease. Hopefully she realizes soon she is more than a tease, she is a personal trainer hired by one of the top trainers in the country. Brian--has he never worked for anyone before? Would it have been better for the client to learn incorrect training methods or is it more important that Brian's feelings aren't hurt? Until shown otherwise, Brian needs to get over himself.
As a successful businesswoman, who happens to also be a lesbian, I find it reaffirming to see another successful businesswoman on a television show; that she happens to also be a lesbian just makes her example even more appealing. I am interested in how Jackie responds to her homophobic mom. It sucks when a parent cannot accept their child's orientation based on out-of-context bibical scriptures, and as a result they leave a sense of self-doubt.
I'm so ready for the next episode

As a personal trainer in Los Angeles that has worked both privately and in corporately owned gyms for years, I am puzzled as to why anyone would work for this woman. She is bossy, controlling, and an overall [expletive deleted]. At least that is how they portray her (I assume that a large part of the show is staged).
She claims to hire only the "best of the best". My question is that why would any trainer that good, not be working on their own? Most of my friends (myself included) who train privately earn between $75-$200 per hour and do it on their own terms.
I will say that the show got me fired up, as I wanted to slap Jackie across the face for treating her trainers like that, but they choose to work for her... and it is a TV show
Let's get more of "Zen". She seems to be the most entertaining and normal of the batch.

Jackie does seem very comfortable with herself and that confidence is very attractive..especially to people wanting a real change. Comments seem harsh towards Brian and Rebecca..they have the most personality and I find myself looking forward to seeing more of them. As far as the show itself, well I was very much disappointed. ALL of the trainers look and act like complete amateurs or just regular actors who were hired to put up with Jackie's non-sense.
As far as this:

Ok, whatever you say LOL Personally I have clients who look twice as good after a year of working with me, BUT he still looks like the only one who knows what he's doing.

I was disappointed in the quality and unprofessionalism of your new fitness show and most of your so-called "Best of the Best" Trainer's unprofessional behavior and conduct (invitations to strip clubs to win the boss over?).
I was expecting quality exercise demonstrations and explanations of latest exercise research, cutting edge exercises and fitness tips based on current industry standards. Instead I saw the Owner's lesbian-lip-locking escapades in bed, another flirty unprofessional female trainer straddling her male client, unprofessional comments and attitudes and a HUGE MISREPRESENTATION of what the personal training industry truly represents. This new BRAVO show is just another reality show based on theatrics, sensationalism, sex and more sex.
For quality television, check out FIT-TV instead (Cathe Friedrich) and or view exercise videos/books by highly respected and qualified personal trainers such as Douglas Brooks, Carlos Juan Santana, Sherry & Alex McMillan, Tom Seabourne, Lawrence Biscontini, Mike Morris (Resist-A-Ball), Keli Roberts, Derek Noble and Dr. Len Kravitz.
If anyone is looking for a qualified and certified personal trainer, please check out the ACSM, NSCA, ACE or NASM organizations and their websites. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American Council on Exercise (ACE) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) have the highest standards and testing for Certified Personal Trainers, and provide exercise instruction & research according to current exercise standards.
I'd like to see the BRAVO writers and producers of the new fitness show edit and drastically improve the content, REPLACE some of the unprofessional and inexperienced personal trainers with those who can truly help the television viewing audience in addressing the tremendous problems with America's epidemic of obesity, lack of exercise, and the serious health issues that result from improper nutrition, poor diet. The show & staff should promote healthier lifestyles and fitness to improve everyone's quality of everyday life. Set a good example, especially for today's youth. Consult a physician before beginning an exercise program - and STOP smoking!
Good luck with the new show.
