Steve proved that even a bonafide hero has his own heroes. What did you think of this one?

I absolutely love this episode. I can only imagine how tramatic things where for Steve and his family. I love happy endings like Steve's!!! WAY TO GO FAB FIVE!!! You guys sure did a great job!!!!

I am humbled by Steve's courage and that of his family. This is the kind of episode that puts my own problems into perspective. The Fab 5 gave this "make better" the kind of energy and enthusiasm that was a flashback to earlier episodes. Our guys are excellent representatives of the way we should all treat each other, as were Steve's friends and caregivers.

Now to the most important issue.......how hot was Thom doing flips on that trampoline?!?!?

I agree, this was my kind of episode. Not only for the wonderful heroic story and the love of all Steve's friends and family and his gratitude, but for the FUN the guys had riding on the fire engine. That is, I would guess, every boys (and many girls--me) dream! At some point most of us say well I'm too old to do that or to get excited by that. But the guys evinced real pleasure and fun out of doing it!
I was taken aback when Mike was taken into the marine store and told to spend $5,000. That's a bit daunting even if you have the $ in your pocket (I would guess, should I ever be so blessed). But to have it dropped on you cold--well how do you spend $5,000 in a somewhat meaningful way?
Loved the pampering for the sis, did I get to see her again? I can't remember.
The friend and family comments were especially poignant in this episode--all directed at the bravery of the wife and support of friends and family.
The gifts for the girls and for the wife in the makeovers of the living area and yard, the tramp and the dressmaker's model were well thought out and personal.
Yes, as always the guys were so sensitive and tuned into all that was being said and the needs to be met. I thought over all the gifting wasn't as over the top as sometimes, but was extremely appropriate and personal in each case.
Loved the firemen in the kitchen. And yes, I gasped when Thom was doing flips on the tramp!!!

This gentlemen, as well as men and women like him deserve our applause and thanks. It was generous of him to want to say thanks on Queer Eye and not want a thing for himself. Kyan being very thoughtful and generous to his sister,Jai giving them a weekend to themselves,Carson thinking of his daughters,Thom with his usual magic,---Thom certainly had fun on the trampoline,do I see gymnastics ( on the trampoline) in the Olympics as an alternative career....Ted having fun with the firemen and hearing the guys wise comments....this was a tissue episode.

Now that I've actually SEEN this thread, after whining about it not BEING UP YET, I've got to say that I thought it was great. I don't usually care so much for the "tear jerker" ones, but this was very different. Steve was such a great guy, to have gone through all that and still be more upbeat and cheerful than most of us who have never gone through anything at all are - if that makes sense. And I was so impressed that he was the one who called and wanted it to be a way to thank his friends and family. Awwwwwww!!!

It was also hysterical, and they all seemed to be having fun. And not be verging on boredom. Like in the Model Boy one.

That "special time" thing annoyed me though. What's so special about showing a Project Runway rerun (Project Rerunway?) at the usual time and shoving it up till 11??? Don't do that again, Bravo!

That was a nice episode. And Steve is just a wonderful, kind man.

I am enormously proud of the fab five. After losing my partner of 13 yrs and almost all my friends to AIDS in the 80's and 90's I have to admit I had to deal with some bitterness. This show has softened my heart and made me proud. The care in which each individual is treated by the fab five and the reaction has brought tears to my eyes on many occasions. Yes, I am proud of you guys for showing the world what dear a contribution can and is made by the gay community. Love you all!! Ricky

Exactly...! Steve is a great human being....and each of the guys did their fair share in seeing that he was able to properly thank the people in his life who meant so much to him. From the kindness Kyan bestowed on his sister to the way Ted showed he and his firemen buddies that recipe; this show had HEART through and through...

Then you better have your Kleenex ready for the one they have after the medieval episode! lol
I kind of like the tear jerker ones...because you get to see individually how each of them are affected by whatever situation the straight guy or couple is facing. I think I've seen all of them shed at least ONE tear...

Ever since I caught sight of Kyan wiping his eyes at the Creative Emmys a while back, I'm just waitin' on a real outpouring of emotion! I know he's got in 'im! lol

Hi, Ricky...

I just noticed that you've visited that webpage I posted the link to...

And these guys ARE a definite inspiration, each one of them...and you can be JUST as proud of yourself!

Thanks!

Oh, was it your "special time", Raindog? Just kidding. No wonder I missed this one. I had thought that they didn't air an episode last week. "Project Rerunway" - LOL! Where is the thread for tonight's show, anyway?
my_guy_ky
Never mind the last question. I found the new thread.

Oh, don't worry - I did the same thing with this thread. Except screechier - "Where's the Steve thread?? WHERE'S THE STEVE THREAD!! It aired two days ago - WHY ISN'T IT UP???!???" Then I actually looked around and saw it. I think the little flurry of posts we have lately threw me!

Always great to hear from a fan of the Five....

I've been away from this board for so long that I can't remember whether the threads used to get bumped up from new postings like they do now. IIRC, the newest threads stayed on top, but I could be wrong...

They're showing this episode RIGHT now as i'm typing this! lol

Did anyone see the part where Thom was pulling down the steps to the attic?
Made me think of South Park..."Oh my God...they killed Kyan!"
