The 'rejects' give a real insight into how bizarre some people are in this world and how some people confuse bizarre or odd with "creative".
Looks like an interesting group but maybe too safe, speaking from an entertainment point of view. The second season was great and you could like most of the people, yes, even Santino was likeable and funny. The rerun of the first season reminded me how much I did not like any of the finalists and thought all three had been jerks, Jay being less so that the other two in the end.
I have to say that the second was best of the first two and my only concern is that the current people seem - SEEM - to be more set in a style and I do not know if I will like that better, but I will watch.
The best part with the "Road to" show was seeing former cast members again and seeing how they were doing and Nick with his "You get an 'A' for drama" almost made me choke on my dinner. Show more of what happened to them all.

Loved Jays comment about not playing the contestants, to play the production. How funny was that?

i kind of wished that they would have shown more about people that didn't make it rather than people who did. i mean, we're going to find out about the people who got on the show, i expect tryout shows to be more about the people who tried and failed. i really did like the extra clips about previous contestants though.

Loved the Road... would like to see more of these types of shows .. it is very interesting to see all these outakes. I am also glad to see the non-winners who helped along the way. Would like to see more of the "where are they now" shows on winners and non-winners.

Ah, Tim answered this in his blog...Joann Pailey from Elle. She certainly thought she was somebody! Elle is the only fashion mag I DON'T read.
Where are Tim's podcasts?

What amazed me is how some of these people (who I assume have watched the show) came to the audition and didn't know how to sew?!! Or didn't have a portfolio? Sure, I want to design, but I'll admit that I am nowhere near being a strong sewer. I'm glad that you included this part of the process this season.

I have to disagree with the posts about Joann Pailey. SOMEBODY had to be a hard-ass about the Auditions. Or they'd still be sitting there looking at bad portfolios and piss-poor couture. And wading through excuses for sub-standard presentations.

I don't know why but watching Project Runway to me is what I imagine smoking crack must be like. I feel like a snaggle-toothed smelly addict with bad skin. I'm addicted, OK. I just am. I don't know why this is. God knows I've watched my share of REALITY TV. Blow Out anyone? But, this is different. I'm euphoric. I do not need a 12 step program. I want, I need more Project Runway. I sat through America's Got Talent, Rock Star Supernova and the unbearable Lucky Louie killing time Just so I could stay up and watch the first episode of Project Runway. I love it. Thank you. Good night.

Project Runway is such a great stepping stone for those who are trying to get further in their dreams and careers. So why do the judges keep letting people try again who have either tried for it before and got kicked off, or were actually picked in last seasons show and didn't do the show. What happened to you get one shot at it, and then its someone else's turn. Please don't keep bringing people back that have had an opportunity, give someone else a chance......

I agree--they had lines of people to see! Also, I think she was right about Keith only bringing menswear. Yes, the skills translate, but jeez, would it kill him to make a dress or two to bring on an audition!
I mean, Bonnie made 3 dresses in a week because she hadn't sewn lately. To me, that showed some initiative anyway and a real desire to do what it takes to get on the show.

He scares me too and then to find out he had made it before and turned it down. His laugh and his look are too synister like he should be petting a cat that matches his outfits or something. Wasn't that anorexic Elle editor just awful? I'm fine with critiquing designers for being unprepared or out of synch with the show, but she just did it in the most obtuse, snippy and belligerent way. She was just grating.

Yes, I've been plagued by that teaser for weeks now. C'mon already, give it up! As for speculations, I now have waaaaaay too many, but will post them all the same
1) The guy who boasted, "Sabatage happens". He screwed up the machine that Stacey was using and then blamed her for not knowing how to sew. I know what it's like to use an industrial sewing machine. They are a bit undaunting at first, but you DO get the hang of it. I seriously thought something was awry with that whole situation. Still do.
2) Vincent for his histrionic breakdown. It's not just possible, it's imminent.
3) Keith for using materials and fabric not a part of Mood or the Macy's wall.
4) Any person who is "auf'ed". Tim will tell them they have to clean out their workspace and that he "will have to ask them to leave".
I'm sure it's #4. I can already predict that it will be something completely benign.

I agree! I'm still mourning last season. Give us a show that tracks their whereabouts Bravo! I do have an open mind for the new designers. I'm sure they'll be every bit as interesting once we get to know them. (But what is with that creepy Malan guy?)

I want to think it will be totally benign also because I know they do extensive background checks and psychological evaluations on people. Not that something couldn't slip through...but it sure is juicy to imagine what it could be...

I noticed and someone else posted and confirmed the word, "Detroit." It's very scripty and hard to read. At first, I thought, "oh, how cool." But, now...I dunno. It's too early to be all judgy, but after seeing the first epi, I wonder if he's all-style and no substance?
(Maybe it's a list of his rock 'n roll celebrity clients that he said he's dressed and designed for over the years.

I found the dress pictures under "rate the runway" and the auctions. Are there any other pictures available that are larger and show different views?
I like seeing how the designers meet the challenges and it is so difficult to really see the dresses on the tiny runway clips - especially for the "middle" group. I want to see the backs, see the tops under the jackets, etc.
Thanks.

3 Seasons, and I think this is the best cast. The one and only person I can't stand is Milan? He needs to ace the over exaggerated accent. The rest of the group is great! Michael Kors humor is dry as ever and I think Nina needs to be replaced with Anna Wintour. Hope everyone enjoys the season PEACE!

I love Malan for some reason. He is practically a walking caricature of himself. I wonder if that's why he told Michael that he was from "all over" because he didn't want to say, "Hi, I'm M'LAHN Br'TAHN from T'WAHN... "
Seriously though, I love the guy. Hope he makes the top 3!

My challenge idea:
Get rid of the models for one episode. Take the designers to the "street" (a flea market, shopping mall, downtown, etc.) and give them 1 hour to find a woman and convince her to be their muse/model. They would then have to design an outfit to fit the needs (office, evening, clubbing, etc.) of this woman.
I would love to see these designer not just design for an "every woman", which is easy when your model is 6 feet tall and a size 0, but to create something that actually looks great on them.

this show is tired and boring.
stop kicking off the good designers and keeping on the characters good for reality tv storylines.
season 1 - obviously done with wendy
season 2 - not as bad
season 3 - THE WORST
vincent and angela should have BOTH been kicked off on the first challenge- their designs are messy, tacky, and have no vision, and yet the producers have kept them on.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........
i love this show b/c i love watching the interesting designs being made, not the cady bitchy idiocy. i could watch that on any of the millions of reality tv shows. project runway was unique to me in that it displayed a creative process from start to finish, and that is even becoming very redundant.

Good Day All,
Just introducing myself to the boards. Couldn't figure out how to start a new thread, LOL. Anywhoo, I'm a Fashionista and I'm a huge Project Runway fan....my two favs are Michael & Kayne! I'm really lovin' this season too, very interesting.
I do have a quick question for anyone who may know.... Does anyone know if Micheal has a MySpace page? I would imagine that he does. I'd really love for him to style me in the near future...I want to get a jump on things now because if he wins, the world will jump on the bandwagon and I need him to style me for my various projects!!
Thanks in advance for any responses and Keep Stylin' & Profiling! Ciao

It's a big love fest from here on in - with Jeffery the only one who offers attitude, and Kayne, soon to leave, offering glitztac.
In what way do Santino and Jeffery differ? Or Chloe and Uli/Laura? Or Daniel and Micheal?
I couldn't wait for each episode of season 2 and although I don't miss any episodes of 3, I don't carea as much.
Of course, I've also seen Design Star, HGTV's reality/game show program, Hell's Kitchen (only 2 episodes, it's too frenetic for my taste), while watching PR3 - overkill??
I am looking forward to Top Chef, which drew me into this whole world.
