Okay, this is the attitude I don't understand. What the hay has she said or done that makes you feel that way? All she's done is stand up to that crummy Vincent and nutso Jeffrey. I guess some people don't like strong women who stand up for themselves. That's your prerogative, I suppose. If you didn't have to look at her? Holy crap. She's a very attractive woman, but even if you don't like her, what a cheap and nasty thing to say. But I guess that's your prerogative too.
People are still remembering Angela of the poor attitude towards Vincent (however he treated her, she still should have been a good player on his team) and also it is hard to forgive the bubble skirt/rosettes. But she seems to be a fast learner and hopefully will drop the cargo pants also. I think she has excellent skills and is getting into the groove as Robert is moving out of it. I am sad for Robert, he is my favorite because he truly is the only one I find witty.

Once again, Robert escapes, he really does need to do a better job, that dress he did for Jackie O. does not look like something she would wear, especially with that collar around the waist.
What happend to the tourquoise (horrible word to try to spell without spellcheck) fabric. That would have looked pretty.
Yeah, I really didn't get Robert this week. Jackie O is meant for him. Truly cut out for him. Where/How'd he go wrong?
What was with that rope belt? And the model's bird nest hair? Was he going for the Jackie-O-just-stepped-off-the-yacht look? Or Jackie-O-the-morning-after look???
His model for the doggie challenge looked waaaaay more Jackie O. than this week's model.
I thought the same thing. He should have just done a variation on that. That rope belt was the absolute opposite of Jackie O.

Her designs are getting better, I'll give her that. If I didn't have to look at her or listen to her I'd like her a little bit more. But I don't know how long her stretch of creating actual wearable clothes for people who don't dress like her will last.
Okay, this is the attitude I don't understand. What the hay has she said or done that makes you feel that way? All she's done is stand up to that crummy Vincent and nutso Jeffrey. I definitely don't have a problem with strong women, I am a strong woman. She just reminds me of someone I don't like that was in my life for way too long. And when I say I don't want to look at her, I mean her clothes, not her face (| think she has beautiful features) but someone who designs clothes shouldn't dress like someone who steals clothes from the salvation army.
Okay, I see how it's going to be. She's not there to be judged on how she dresses or where she shops (I think she looks great, by the way). If you can't think of anything to say, attacking Angela's own way of dressing -- or words she uses that these others don't know how to spell -- is just hot air and blather (and if she made up a word, good for her. But the judges seemed to know it just fine). Everyone here is so funny. Angela is not the Antichrist. But if she were, I would probably like her even more.

Can someone clear up something? Jeffrey referred to the sewing machine as HIS. Does each designer have an assigned machine? And if so, why would Angela be using someone else's without their permission? Was hers not working? Or was she deliberately messing with Jeffrey [not that I would blame her]
The judges decision was dead-on correct. Michael was beyond everyone else and Bradley was a designer without a clue.

I LOVE this show!.....But what would be a message board without us all putting in our 2 cents. My 2 cents is this - people with shapes like models make up maybe 10% of the population....I'd LOVE to see the designers given a challange to design clothes for plus size men or women...or kids (boys clothes are SO boring).....sleepwear....infants.....gramma and grampa! (LOL)....there are more of us 'regular people' than there are women who are a size 4..THAT would show how versatile the designers REALLy are!
Now it's time to put in your 2 cents
You're singing to the choir, MsMusik. We would all be rich if all of the 2 cents we have already put in for that suggestion would be collected! Welcome!

I loved Michael's reaction: Pam Motherf*ckin' Grier.
I may not have gotten it exactly but that was the gist. I also like Michael because he seems to respect women more than Cardasian-tattoo boy. I think he is just intimidated by Laura hence his nasty comments. Plus he called Angela a feminazi a few episodes ago. She may have her faults but I didn't see any evidence of that.
Yep, he's afraid of women.

First of all, I think Michael's entry was lovely and he certainly deserved the win. What bothered me this episode was the number of models who ended up looking "portly". Alison's Farrah dress made her model look positively chunky. I thought it was very unattractive, and, I can guarantee, Farrah would never have worn anything like that. Jeffrey's made his model's legs look chunky. And Vincent's Twiggy made his model look very broad--even her arms. Think what these dresses would do on real size women...Not a pretty picture.

Angela is too quirky for me, both in personality and in her work. Jeffrey's dress was awful, and I was shocked he wasn't called out for it. It didn't look like Madonna in the slightest bit, so it failed on that level, it was ill-fitted and and looked like it was going to slide right off that girl, so it failed on that level. I haven't read all the posts so I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but as for Uli she makes pretty dresses sure, but she makes the SAME dress every time. And it's the SAME dress that was shown in the first episode as an example of the work she does. I wonder if she even knows how to make a sleeve. She just isn't showing range, and in the end it will hurt her. So my pick is Michael. He has the imagination, he has the skills, he shows identity yet range, and he has a passionate yet disciplined and professional personality. He's the only one who has every one of those things.

I don't think she had immunity. They would have mentioned it on the runway when they said she was safe.
As someone wrote under Epi 304, I don't think they get immunity when they get a killer prize...outfit produced and sold by Macy's and an add in Elle.
Was it my imagination or was NINAGARSEEYA completely screwtinizing her outfit. I swear the look on her face said "You can design two decent enough outfits in a row and this is what you CHOOSE to wear?"

It didn't say Audrey Hepburn to me, either. It was very pretty, though, IMHO. Her model needs to be careful to always stand up straight, even if she's not on the runway at the moment. That picture of her on Tim's Take makes her look like she has a pot gut which we all know she does NOT have.

Because I know him and he has actually done some things for me and that is always the bone on contention, that he comes up with everything in these colors, black, brown, beige, white, or blush. I keep telling him to bring in some color. I have 4 fantastic things that he has done for me and he is wonderful.

Any more than dear Bradley, who barely finishes his pieces (what's with the hems of his tops? - he can't seem to find the model's waist). Especially when pittted against the competition. The winner will have to have the total package - creativity and vision, good construction/execution, and the ability to communicate effectively with potential clients and team members. I hated the rope belt, and hated the club-girl black top underneath. But I got what he was trying to do. Conservative cuts can be teasingly sexy when paired with something surprisingly revealing. I had an early Isaac Mizrahi dress in the earlyish-90's that was like that, a baggy shift that fully covered me from neck to above-knees in the front, then I'd turn to the side and the armholes were cut so low you could see flashes of skin all the way to my waist. Men loved that dress, they were nuts for it.

OMG great episode, as always! here are my thought about each garment. remember, please, my fashion vocabulary is limited ^^
Michael: i so wanted him to win! he's been consistently showing us his ability and talent and now he has finally been rewarded! his model was hot/stunning!
Angela: her garment was beautiful. Sleek, sophisticated, and classy! her rossettes were hot in this lil number. There is only one problem that i can see - the bodice is very similar to many of her other tops in other challenges. i hope she can show diversity when it comes to construction.
Kayne: i liked his black "gothic" gown-it was stunning. however, it might be a lil too dark/serious for my taste. His model's butt was also kinda nasty to see
Bradley: OMG im so sad to see him go. he was hilarious in a weird kinda way! i thought he would be the underdog :/ but this outfit was hideous and tacky. i do agree with the judges.
Robert: he does have talent but he is really a bit boring. period.
Vincent: he is so crazy! i thought his outfit was fitting to his cooky aesthetic/personality
Jeffrey: Did NOT like this costumey, corset, skirt thing. it was hideous. jeffrey needs to tone it down and make his work more appealing to the masses
Laura: laura was laura. i don't love her but i don't hate her. her outfit was nice....yeah....i guess her taste is a lil more sophisticated and "old lady-ish" for me
Uli: i always love uli. her personality and accent are appealing. her use of pattern is amazing BUt, on the flip side, i don't see versatility in her work
Alison: she never ceases to amaze me with her brilliant work, apparent point of view, and versatility. Alison is really the only person i feel will definately go to fashion week
*if u have seen the new preview, heidi mentions that the designers this season have had it easier than the designers last season. i kinda have to agree cuz all of the designer's challenges this season have been two-day challenges, whereas the designers last season had one day challenges. they had to work faster and make it work.
What does everyone else think?? (if anyone reads this)

Am I the only person who thinks Angela's costume was nothing like Audrey Hepburn. That neckline reminded me of the [expletive deleted] vest.
It didn't say Audrey Hepburn to me, either. It was very pretty, though, IMHO. Her model needs to be careful to always stand up straight, even if she's not on the runway at the moment. That picture of her on Tim's Take makes her look like she has a pot gut which we all know she does NOT have.
I know. That belt wasn't at all flattering, for one. The skirt with the trim was fine but the top to me was all wrong. That didn't say alluring in an understated way. Audrey had such a classic flair; even as an older woman, she was sleek and tasteful. That dress didn't say sleek and tasteful like the photo at all.

you're dead on my friend. how do you design and not sketch? i mean, props for having that great of an imagination, but how would you get anything done in a team or collaboration without drawing someting for people to go off of?
Chloe did not sketch. Even when she was a finalist and Tim visited her in Houston, she had no sketches. Of course she could sketch if she had to, as when presented with the 13th dress and she had to show Miss Diana what she had in her head. And Angela apparently sketched well enough to convey to Michael and Laura what she wanted.

Wasn't going to post until it showed on the west coast, but I do enjoy reading before hand (think of me as the kid who has to open her presents early LOL!)
But I did a search on the fleurshans thing also, and got the same thing....not even a prompt for an alternate. Anybody else know something on this? Won't comment on the show till I see the Runway.
Pass me some punch please?
Jazzie
Ok, lets see if the board won't kick me off this time.
Angela may have meant florishes (however it is spelled)

I agree with the model's bad posture. Angela's model (clarissa) really needs to stand up straight. her posture is horibble, especially when walking down the runway (watch clarissa in the first challenge)

I think Angela is okay, I really like her current work. I actually really liked Kayne until this episode. When he said that Amanda should just look pretty and keep her mouth shut he angered me. Yes, she was semi annoying but that statement was 15th century.
