OK I change my guess for next week everyday woman has to be MARTHA STEWART not sure if anyone has made this guess lots to read on here and I am so confused

Polobear I think it would be a hoot and a half for Martha Stewart to take on Vincent. He is explaining how he "gets off" on what ever he makes and she just lays into him.

I would actually pay good money to see that one.

Martha doesn't take prisoners.

Not a good idea to mention "Martha" and "prisoners" in the same sentence

Just latching on for a spot FF1

I haven't said anything about this episode because I was so upset, so I watched it again.

I think Allison really needed to say something..anything! Kayne explained his mis-step, Vincent defended his mess to the death and Allison just stood there. I think that is really what ended up with her auf.
She had designed for the model before and even mentioned that she designed for a cinch waist and her model didn't have a waist........What! The bow at the top was crazy and sure didn't help at all.

BTW....re: the runway. Tim's podcast said the sped up Vincent's model because she took so long going down the runway, at Vincent's request so "they could enjoy looking at the art" OK, whatever!

I've said "make it work" to my classes before their papers are due. Yikes! I've got it, too. And bad. Where's that PRA meeting being held?

If Michael Kors can state that Kayne can make clothes (god, did they drop the ball w. that god-awful pagent dress, which made her look horrible if anyone did watch Miss Universe)

***first time post...this comment really bugged me you saying in your opinion kaynes dress was god awful...for being that way, it not only won the challenge but also got tara conner to the top five...and it was what she has asked for.
broos
Vincent and Kayne's dresses were both worse than hers. The only reason she got kicked off rather than them is because she is quieter. They would rather keep a freak and gay guy who goes over the top with his pageant dressing than a quiet, normal, and talented woman.

***I believe that comment labeling kayne "the gay guy" is a little unnecessary, he may be gay but that isnt all that there is to him unlike "freak" is all there is to vincent. Kayne happens to know how to dress a womens figure incredibly well and in the pageant world an over the top gown is considered a good thing when done with class which to me seems that kayne has
Parnell
I know, I know. I jumped the gun. Posted before looking. Call me a drive by, call me a hag. I know, I know. Sorry to all who went through those last pages with her, and of course, sorry to Legendary herself. Serves me right to try to be cattty when it isn't really in my nature.

Peace out.
broos
As for KANE... he is willing to win at any cost. He is petty and he symbolizes what most straight people see gay people as... DRAMA. I think perhaps Michael K. has a bit of a crush here? Just a thought!

Since when has turning someone in for doing wrong been a bad thing? when the situation is something like this where you can have a once in a life time chance to win something, would you want someone who is dishonest to win over you or possibly take your spot at the end bc he/she cheated i know i wouldnt. as far as tonight goes to me the lil comments between laura and kayne seemed joking...as someone earlier had but in their post
broos
I agree!
broos
I could not agree more with your opinion on kayne laura and robert

I did think it was too soon to drag the riding outfit out again. And what was w/ the "For Nuts Only"? Did she want everyone to think her model was into, you know, butt sex? Now THAT is what every girl wants displayed on her ass.

Uli, Uli, Uli...loved the braided bottom, and at least no halter this week...but what did bras ever do to you to make you hate them so much? Are they against your religion? Did one kill your dog? Break into your house? Put sugar in your gas tank?

When Angela's design was going down the runway, I kept telling myself, "I hate it...no, I like it...I hate it...no wait, I think I like it..." I still can't decide, mainly because the PR editors only showed a flash of the dress.

Robert: You done good, sweetie, you done Mommy proud. You didn’t suck and that’s all I wanted. Whew…

Loved Tim Gunn in a hard hat. Can I get a Tim Gunn Barbie to dress up? This was Bob the Builder Tim. Usually we get "fantastically fashionable and never over-the-top Tim."

Fantastic post. Long, but worth it.

LOL about Uli and the Bra ( that sounds like a bedtime story, doesn't it?).

And ROTHFLMAO about the Nut Girl. Geez-o Pete. Now THAT'S rich. I wonder if Vincent thought of telling to shove those (pea)Nuts up her nose!

And, finally, I think you've (your friend) got a really good point about the Jeffrey's and Chloe's loses: muslin-based innovation does not seem to win.

Finally, I love Bob the Builder Tim Gunn. What's next?
broos
seriously i highly doubt kayne wants m kors...and honestly he hasnt even been here the past what 3 episodes so seriously i doubt its that he has a crush and is more bc he cn see that kayne is a good designer

Talented Alison got the boot, while that walking joke Vincent stayed??? There's no way that this could have been "just" a lapse in judgement -- it stinks like dead fish, and I'd be willing to bet the producers applied pressure to keep the "comic relief" around. I'm firmly convinced that Vincent could have sent a girl down the runway wearing nothing but chewing gum, silly string, and spit, and he would have stayed for exactly this reason -- that a designer as promising as Alison had to be the sacrificial lamb makes it that much more disgusting.

I wish I could also say that I wont watch the show anymore, after this week's travesty. Unfortunately I'm hooked, so I know I'll keep watching. But my respect for the judges and my belief in the show's integrity have now dropped to nearly ZERO!

Alison my dear, you got burned. Period. But they say that living well is the best revenge, so best of luck to you in proving PR wrong!

Sorry but I had to snag your post.. I didn't want to go all the way back to the beginning LOL I just want to say... If having Wendy Pepper in the final 3 of season one didn't make me quit watching the show, or giving the win last year to someone who makes very pretty 1980's prom dresses from couch material.... NOTHING will LOL (yeah I know everyone on the planet.. except me.. loved her designs). My point is I rarely agree 100% with the judges .. but frankly if I was the one judging.. there would be someone out there that didn't agree either.

BTW.. anyone else try to read Tim's blog? There have been a bzillion responses to it.. which slows it down to almost nil, or just shuts down completely. The few that I scanned are upset about the show. <sigh>
broos
thats amazing! lol

Possible Spoiler Alert!

Okay, I don't think that that the everyday woman is going to to be an Oprah or Martha. In fact, I don't think it is going to be a single person. I just watched the preview video on-line and each designer is doing something really different.

Here's what I caught so far (Serious Spoiler Alert):

Angela: Pair of Linen Pants, Baby Alpaca Sweater, and a wrap. Casual, but elegant. Going for an Audry Hepburn look (again!).

Kayne: Making three pieces, including a poncho and jewlery.

Uli: Something patterned (of course!), but it looks like a long-sleeve blouse.

Michael: A black jacket with white lining.

That's about all I could catch. But, it made me think that they each have a distinct client to design for. I can't see Oprah or Martha asking for an Audry-look and having Kayne come up with a poncho, Uli a paisely blouse, Michael a tailored jacket, and Angela a baby alpaca sweater with linen pants.

Has to be something other than one celebrity client, no?

I have the comfort knowing that people like you will never have the joy of experiencing my life. Now please reframe from having LegeadaryFace in any future posts.

I know who you are, LegendaryFace. You're Janice Dickinson, America's First Top Model. Aren't you? Aren't you! Don't deny it, you've got one hell of a Legendary Face, but you can't really comment on other people's grammar when you don't correct your own.

Yes, REFRAME from having LegendaryFace in your comments.... It's REFRAIN, dumbass. Yeah, you're high class allright.

boo to the judges and producers! i am shocked vincent stayed and jeffrey was in top 3. dubious dubious decision to let alison go. she has so much talent. reminds me of the santino lingerie challenge. think talent is not a factor, being a wierdo on tv is.
katylyn
I would have to say that I am extremely upset and disappointed at Wednesday's show. I didn't have a chance to watch until today and I was disgusted that Alison was thrown off the show, but Vincent stayed. How is this justifiable from a fashion stance? I understand that from a TV production view point, it makes one heck of a water cooler chat. I just thought that Project Runway was better than say America's Top Model where it's all about the TV angle. Alison deserved to stay and we all know it.

Okay, here's an idea...what if it is designing, not for a woman, but for her clothing line. Say, Martha Stewart's Everyday K-Mart line?

Okay, this is it! I'm a copyeditor by trade, and I can state categorically that I have seen almost NO perfect posts (including some of my own where I failed to catch some embarrassing typos when previewing). I have exercised great personal restraint to avoid correcting/editing/berating others' posts on issues of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.

I ask only two things before I "shut up": (1) please at least make sure there are periods at the ends of your sentences; and (2) at least endeavor to spell all the players' names right (as in Michael [not Micheal], Tim Gunn [not Gun], Alison [not Allison], Kayne [not Kain or Kane], Jeffrey [not Jeffery], Malan [not Milan or Malin], Michael Kors [not Kohrs], etc.).

With that, I will shut my grammar and style manuals and try my best to parse the posts no matter how difficult they may be to decipher.

damselfly
Actually you missread me. I was joking that's why I made sure to correct the blush to a smile...trying to clarify the meaning
joanne77
I think Alison is off because of the producers. They want a good show, not the best designers. Allison was clearly a top designer, but she was so nice and uncontroversial. She's not going to get into any big drama with anyone, whereas Vincent might. Note Laura's attack on him at the end of the episode.

If it were just a contest to pick the best designer, Allison would be there and Vincent would be out.

Frustrating as a viewer, because I like the clothes more than the drama.

Just a thought...but some shallow females react strongly when they perceive another female can give them a run for their money. Maybe Heidi felt that Allison being attractive (similar to herself) and then also extremely talented was too much to bear so she had to rid herself of her. I read

Is it just me or is Heidi becoming more annoying each episode!? Talk about shallow...her highest compliment is that a garment "looks expensive". Next is "I would wear it". Biggest complaint? "Looks cheap". What insight!!

Jeffrey's dress was the only one that moved because he was the only one that use material underneath the newspaper whereas the other designers only used what they found at the site. Also, Michael was the only designer to use 3 or more different materials to create his outfit. Jeffrey's dress was nice but i am not so sure it was innovative. He used newspaper and painted it...My daughter could do that...I also agree that Allison should not have went home. Her dress last night was horrible but she has done nice work previously. Vincent although I like his personality for some odd reason, should have went home...

I'm not sure about this. If Jeffrey used material underneith not only would have Tim spotted it but he would have probably lost the challenge for not paying attention.

Oh yea, I'd like to see your daughter recreate that Jeffreys dress.

In a previous season, Tim Gunn told us that the designers almost always have muslin to use as foundation for the more different challenges. Cloe used it in her plant dress as did Daniel V. He did use the muslin, but it was for foundation purposes. The newspaper would never have held up if it didn't have some sort of lining.

This is my first posting on this message board, although I have watched the show for awhile. I, too, thought Allison should not have been voted off, when Vincent's design was just so awful. I have loved the fact that this show is about clothing as art, but there is nothing artistic about his designs, from the basket on the head to the weird Twiggy outfit to last night's getup.

Watching truly creative people is entertaining enough -- please, Project Runway, don't try so hard to manipulate us with this crap. We see through it. It cheapens your show and shows disrespect for your viewers.

Great post! As much as I enjoyed Santino last year, there were a couple of times that I thought he was a goner. But he would pull it out when given another week. But Vincent is just wrong! I don't think Alison's dress was all that bad...maybe the hairdo sent it over the edge for them.

But I don't like the idea that the producers may have the 'final' say over who goes. It would be too easy for them to use it as a ratings ploy.
gina2
LOL I loved the way Santino would say that!! and yes i drove my husband crazy with that one too!! oh and "chiffon, who stole my chiffon" is another of my faves!! lol

hear hear! i abhor the so called experts in any given field, especially those based in asthetics, who claim the general public have no right to an opinion. Hello!!!! we are the ones buying the clothing, eating the food, attending the plays, watching the movies, etc... its like saying that cause youre not an actor you cant review a movie!!! youre not an artist so dont judge a painting!! get over yourselves!!!!!

with that said and as much of a colosal [expletive deleted] he is; jeffrey should have won. i love michael but it was no where near the visual oomph or even the innovativeness of jeffrey's piece. and on michael; im finding their attitudes toward him to be disgustingly patronizing, like hes some kind of idiot savant! look at him! he can articulate his feelings!it feels alot like reverse discrimination. hes terrific period. stop acting like hes some sort of anomoly because hes a straight black man.

ive never been an alison fan but that auf was rather abrupt when you consider vincent has been in the bottom a few times already.

and for the laura bashers: shes the only one with the cajones to say whats on her mind with no pretense and without cattiness. i so wish her and michael had been around for santino's season to set his catty ass straight!

Oh, I think Santino & Laura would have gotten along great. Some of the things Santino would say are right up Laura's alley!

Yes I actually liked the painted bottom too. It became terrible when he put all that silver crap and bow in the back on it. Now that was tacky.

damsel, I love hells Kitchen too and yup top Chef is a kindler gentler version that has 4 judges instead of just one, the chef Gordon Ramsey. BTW you should check out some of the boards for hell's omg incredible!! lol

Very good points regarding Michael versus Jeffrey. I , like many, love Michael but thought Jeffrey's outfit more creative. However, you are right. We do not see the outfits up close. Michael's outfit WAS an ensemble and less of a statement piece. For the same reason, I thought Laura's dress was simply classic. It would look like crap on me, but looked like a million bucks on her model.
