I come to the internet and to the boards to also have fun. Project Runway is a fun program to watch and comment on. But when it comes down to it, this is not the real world, I mean the internet, and when it comes down to it, Project Runway really does not affect our lives directly. I mean by that none of us is going to die because of PR. unless we get too crazy about Vincent's designs and have a heart attack. This should be fun and not a verbal boxing match.

There are a lot of very talented people out here and they get to playing with each other. It is fun to read all the different comments when we are all watching the same show.

Better a verbal boxing match than a physical one,no?Really, some of us write with great verve and a sense of urgency also.We get to joke, cajole, admonish, call up points about each show, get to know each other, crack wise, ignore the very tacky, sorta like real life if we had more cajones,n'es pas? My point is everyone here can be great fun or the occasional pain in the posterior, but we all wanna read each others post.Daily,I enjoy FF1,Iron Chef,LazyLady,CaLady,Pacey,Legolass, and yes,you too DCJewBear, and the lovely KSBoy....and if I missed ya(Damselfly,ILoveBest, etc)please forgive, and I like to read their witty banter. It is fun and sometimes competitive(see:Poetry Night) and wouldnt wanna miss it....

I just wanted to say to those who decided to play nice with a certain troll, how nice of you. Your better then me. I myself have not agreed to anything. I said what I wanted to say and moved on. If I were to get annoyed again I may feel the need to speak up.

Isn't that what it's all about...debate and conversation. If someone comes on strong, we're all human, they should know that they're going to get responded to. If something is misunderstood, clarify...I've had to do that...then move on. LF came on like gangbusters but has calmed down...voila....moving on...I would love a cheeseburger, minus the burger part....

Pacey,

Look Boo I love Vincent as well he reminds me of some of the artist here in New Orleans, I get his vibe. We have been through lot since the storm hit ,and I think I understand as you alot more what crazy is in our minds. Vincent is not crazy....eclectic... but extremley normal in N.O. standors...LOL.... That is why I love him....I also Love Laura since she is from her originally and will "cat fight " with the best. Boo it is a T.V. show , period. Yes we get into it and it is our escape from some of the everday c-r-a-p we face here in N.O. with the re-building. We attach ourselves to the designers and live through them in this competition. Just smile ,and realize not everyone can embrace a person as Vincent. But I will guess IMO that Vincent will make it to the Final 3 and blow the viewing public out of the water with his Runway show. But I'm very fond of the eccentric so what do I know. Just take care and don't let this board get you down,

Okay, this is it! I'm a copyeditor by trade, and I can state categorically that I have seen almost NO perfect posts (including some of my own where I failed to catch some embarrassing typos when previewing). I have exercised great personal restraint to avoid correcting/editing/berating others' posts on issues of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.

I ask only two things before I "shut up": (1) please at least make sure there are periods at the ends of your sentences; and (2) at least endeavor to spell all the players' names right (as in Michael [not Micheal], Tim Gunn [not Gun], Alison [not Allison], Kayne [not Kain or Kane], Jeffrey [not Jeffery], Malan [not Milan or Malin], Michael Kors [not Kohrs], etc.).

With that, I will shut my grammar and style manuals and try my best to parse the posts no matter how difficult they may be to decipher.

LOL! There must be something going around. My major quilt list has just had a discussion on much this same subject, much to the dismay of many.

Your complaints are valid and you didn't even touch on the misuse of words that seems to be rampant across most reader input. 'Wahla' for 'Voila', 'complement' bor 'compliment' and vice versa -- lots of thing!

This speaks very badly for the teaching of spelling and English composition...

Admittedly English is not the easiest languange to learn -- even for native speakers -- and there are many 'flavors' in use around the globe, but there are at least minimal standards that aren't very demanding.

Dupont Circle? Gay ghetto? Fruit loop? ROTF Sorry, I'm tired and wacky. Dupont Cicle is the gayest place in the world aside from The Castro in San Francisco. We just take it for granted that all people know that and, as you prove, that's just not true. So....now ya know.

Sorry if I offended. I was in DC about 15 or 16 years ago and stayed at a cool little hotel right off DuPont circle. I remember going to a great GLBT bookstore and it was the first time I'd seen G/L couples walking around holding hands and I thought that was so cool. It made me happy that there was a place where people could be out and not get hassled.

But anyway, when I read your line about "fruit loop" I was just curious. Have a good day and again I am sorry if I offended you.

Obviously, brillke and Raymondo, I'm also one of the ones who hasn't agreed to "play nice" yet.

Don't get me wrong, I like being nice and appreciate it when others are being nice too. I don't think that's the issue here. What I've noticed with each of the recent pesky posters*, is that some folks here tend to respond immediately and with fury, while others of us sit back patiently and see if a problem cures itself. I try to be one of the latter group. I waited for about 1 1/2 days to see if legendaryfarce stopped being so pretentious and condescending. I finally decide I've had enough, put in one brief (and perhaps moderately humorous) put down, and next thing I know we're being told that we should all just keep our mouths (fingers?) shut because the initially vocal posters have apparently tired of the discussion and moved on.

I'm sorry, FF1, but your advice that scrolling down 2 pages should be enough just doesn't apply in this case. I scrolled through probably 30 pages of condescension before I put in my one and only comment to LF. And, despite your assumption early this morning, I hadn't read your episode 2 post, I indeed had. I went back and found it. Yes, in that post you made things sound voluntary. But yesterday, when you start chiding people for not following your advice way back then, it ceased sounding like advice and sounded more like scolding.

*Footnote: Unlike others, I won't call the pesky posters "trolls." Why? Well, because I'm "nice."

Hey everyone. First time poster, long time viewer. Since the very, very beginning in fact.

I never found it appealing or necessary to view these boards because I find they are usually a place of debate and since the beginning of Project Runway, I have nothing to debate about. Though there are times I don't agree with the judges decisions, I can usually see both sides on who they elect to win and lose. However, in the latest episode, Alison... a designer who in nearly every previous episode showed class, talent and promise and Vincent... a designer who had been only ridiculed for his zany and poorly developed vision went head to head. It disgusts me that Vincent is most likely kept on the show because they want viewers in an attempt to get people back by having them say "What's that crazy Vincent going to try to put a hat on next week?" Especially when the producers oh-so-recently kicked off Kieth Michael for using design books and Tim Gunn exclaimed that if Project Runway is anything- it's serious. Laughable, considering the most recent choices.

So, I decided how Project Runway can make up Alison's premature demise to me and fellow viewers with a conscience.
1. They remove Michael Kors.
2. They replace him with Vera Wang.
3. They remove Nina Garcia.
4. They replace her with Heidi Klum.
5. They remove Heidi as host.
6. They replace her with Danny V.

Hi and welcome to the board. I agree with you that Alison got robbed. Not that any of your ideas will happen LOL but you got #6 all wrong. It should be my secret TV boyfriend Nick Verreos not Danny V!

What if they put Santino in Heidi's place. Frightening thought. Although he was good during this year's interviewing process much to Tim's surprise.

I have read most of the thoughts on how to improve the program. Let us all get together and develop our own program and sell it to Bravo and make oodles and oodles of money. After last week's auf I feel we could not do worse than they are. We could call it, "Down the Fashion Ramp." and other name suggestions?

I think it is interesting that one of things people criticize the judges the most for is doing their actual job. They are NOT supposed to be giving you points from the week before, or gee they love your cute personality or oh gosh that outfit from 3 challenges ago was great so we will cut you some slack now, etc. If they did ANY of these things it would be totally unfair and you would all be out for blood.

I also notice people here do not really LISTEN to the judges. I have been able to tell every time what was going or staying from their comments. For example they did comment on Vincents model not being able to walk properly. BUT if you paid attention they also commented on the fact that if the dress had actually been shorter it would have worked for them. And shorter would have shown a well cut sort of Jackson Pollack moving art kind of sheath. The dress was interesting they thought, they did get the moving art canvas thing and I saw what they were saying.

The criticisms of Alisons? It did not FLATTER her model-who she picked, had worked with and KNEW what size she was. It was unflattering, cut badly, added pounds to her look WHICH any designer will tell you that no MATTER what a dress looks like or what size you are if it adds pounds NO woman will buy or wear it. When is the last time you said well I picked that outfit because it made me look bigger. It was a completely legitimate comment from Heidi that she took a curvy size 8 kind of girl and made her look lumpy and bigger then she was and did not flatter her body in any way. And the hair, come on. It did NOTHING to help. It is a proper comment to say you took a helathy model size girl and made her look plus size. She did not say plus size is bad or gee when I am 9 months pregnant I can not look good. She was saying it you take skinny and somehow end up making it look bigger you have made a mistake.

If you are a 200 lb girl you should hope whoever designs clothes for you is giving as much thought as to making you look good as the one designing for 102 lb girl.

The Miss USA challenge. Everyone is yelling about hating Vincent. But if you listen to the judges they thought the back perfect, the cut etc. If they find elements that work it gives THAT particular outfit an edge over an outfit that they find nothing good in. The comment abut Kaynes. Yes, design did not work in terms of creativity. But he "knows" how to make a dress. The cut, tailoring was great.
There was not one thing in Alisons outfit that worked for the model or the judges. Victor's had a walking problems but other than that they got the creative part, the top etc. Using that criteria and no points for liking Alison personally she was gone.

Well true enough I guess but remember that the judging is also subjective. Tim Gunn said in his blog that he though Alison should WIN and was pretty shocked by the outcome. But such is war.
swiss74
I can agree with most of your points but judging is subjective and it will always be that way. Sometimes you agree with the judges sometimes you don't. I personally thought Jeffery should have won the episode. I did not like that plastic thing around Michael's models neck. Yes I understood his explanation but the plastic neck thing should have been left on the cutting room floor in my opinion. Just my take.

Possibly had Alison explained her garment design more fully they would have agreed with what she tried to do, maybe not. I have always felt Alison felt intimidated by the judging process and judges. Had she jumped in like Vincent and took them on we all would have fallen out of our chairs but she might still be on the program and Vincent could possibly be gone. His explanation that is was moving art cracked me up. To me it looked like a stiff moving pile of junk.

I get aggravated at times with the show when it doesn't go the way I, in my infinate wisdom, think it should go. The truth is I love this show and it is a blast to watch and I don't want to change anything. Sure I'd like to see more of Tim and I like the idea of the guest judge being a past season designer but other than that I don't want to see a lot of changes.

The thing that I worry about is the way Vincent defended his garment. Like Santino, stubbornly and not giving an inch. He also always seems to believe that his stuff has superior construction and looks very currently fashionable. Another poster said that Kors and Gunn know him from when he was in New York. Is he perhaps thinking that they will remember his good stuff and pass him right through? He seems so deadly confident that he'll make the final 3 that I worry about him if he doesn't.

I can just see him now, arguing with the judges, and then belatedly realizing that they are serious and that he is a goner. The show has twice delibertely shown us comments speculating that Vincent might crack up soon; is this foreshadowing of a really messy scene?

For my part, if Vincent gets auf'd, I hope he takes it with grace. He seems like a very nice guy. Crazy as a loon (see hilarious video with nude butt shot), but a nice guy. Even Robert and Kayne, in their recent interview, said he was a extremely nice, much nicer than the show portrayed. So, I'm gathering that he's a cool guy one-on-one but a stubborn tiger when it comes to defending his garments. I cringe thinking of the day he gets the boot. I'm going to cover my eyes with my hands and cautiously peek through my fingers during his auf'ing.

I agree and second your comments. I have thought about it too what would happen when he gets the boot. Just really do not know. I know he knows people on the show from his prior experiences with the fashion industry. I wonder, as speculated, that might be the reason he still is on the show. Althought Tim was pretty harsh in his criticism of his waste not creation and Tim really liked Alison.
Vincent in my opinion still is in the period of when he left the fashion industry. He needs a crash course in "up to date." Also it could be that he thinks his designs are classic and are stylish in any time period or frame.
I still chuckle at the expressions on Kor's and Garcia's face when he finally shut them up. They gave me the opinion that they just realized he does not want to hear their opinions because he is right on all fronts.

Vincent and Santino, to me, are not alike.
Santino never made anything I thought anyone could wear, even the Hilton outfit. I also think he did it on purpose. He wanted to be good TV and I guess he was if you like being insulted every week.

Vincent is hard headed, with out nearly as much talent as Santino. I think Santino can make wearable fashion, I am not so sure about Vincent.

It makes me wonder if one of the reasons he is out of the industry is because he would not listen to anyone. To stay alive in any business you have to produce what the buying public wants and let's face it, I can't think of anyone that would want anything we have seen him do. Not even the idea of what he has done.

I think that Santino purposely was over the top most of the time, both in his designs and in his behaviour. I think he was great drama tv, but it came back to bite him in the rear. If I remember his final thirteen designs for Fashion Week were not true to what he had been producing. The judges even commented on that. There might have been a different outcome had they been true Santino. I say this because I have been to some fashion shows where the clothes were out there past Pluto and wondered why they thought they would possibly sell some of them. I would not wear them to take the garbage out and I venture to say no one would.

I agree that Vincent is hard headed and from the garments he has designed for the episodes did not seem to me to be that well constructed on a whole. Yes he had moments of sewing brillance but they were not on a whole that well constructed. The best constructed thing I saw he did was the hat for the fashion accessory.

I do feel there was nothing I would buy from him. Maybe he will surprise us starting now, who knows.

I don't think he is going to surprise us lol Scare us, possibly.

I know that Uli has a great many fans on this board but she has also not impressed me. True, she is great using patterns but she uses those patterns in almost the same design every week. I have yet to see her do anything that is tailored and wonder if she can produce an entire outfit that is.

I agree her garments have basically been all the same or at least appeared to me to be the same in many respects. With Uli everything is basically a variation of the halter dress. (Disregard the waste not outfit) I just factor in that she lived in Florida and that is very popular there. She is confortable doing that style because she has done it on a whole everyday.

I have wondered many times as a person was auf'd what they would have done had they made it to Fashion Week. Would they be able to expand and produce different style garments. I have often thought they should use the top 5 designers at Fashion Week, only because I would like to see what they would do. Only the top three would be eligible for the prize money but the exposure for the others would be worth their while. Maybe they could subsidize their expenditures. Who knows.

Since wednesday i've been reading every post on this board. It seems that this board is like that song from lamchops play along "this is the board that doesn't end, yes it goes on and on my friend, some pr fans started writing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue arguing forever just because" . It's over. Believe me if complaining could change things i'd start a war of words. But seing that this show was taped already, nothing can be done to change this season. Officially, pr has entered the realm of the soap opera cause i can bet that 90% of the people who said that they would not watch next weeks episode will, just to see what happens. Its like when your favorite character on a soap opera gets killed off, you watch next weeks episode to see what happens. Like one poster said a dozen pages ago, its like crack and we are all addicted. The first step to solving a problem is to admit you have a problem. I admit i have one but i'm gonna stick with it. Even with all the grimy stuff that happened this week, i still want to tune in for more, more, MOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEEEEEEE. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAH(in a maniacal tone)

Another thing, project runway must be making millions from this show and the prize money is only 100000. C'mon. Even when you factor in the other stuff, total monetary value is 250,000 at most. Highway robbery.

I was extremely disappointed that they let go Alison. Its not her fault that she has a FAT model, I think her dress is creative according to the material she collected.

I think that old guy should go, the model can't even walk on it and the back open up just like hospital clothes that stick your bare ass out.

As a designer, they should design thing that people can wear and move around not as tin man in wizzard of the ozz.

Alison, I love your design, I think you have amazing talent and I love all the pieces you done before. They all sleek, classy and cute. I thnk you should continue with the show but too bad that I am not the judge.

I think they all have PMS and they just too harsh on you about bitching you don't know female figure, You and Tim had that conversation but I am sorry you have a FAT model that ruin everything.

I agree that their expenditures are very little compared to what they are bringing in. I bet Heidi is laughing all the way to the bank. But from what I hear she has run into a city [expletive deleted] because of possibly stealing someone elses idea for the show.

Ditto, Raymundo, ditto!

Look at it this way, it's in human nature to whine or complain. It's what we, as humans, are best at. Sure, the moaning and complaining won't change a thing, but it gives people temporary relieve of their problems if they complain to someone.

This is how I look at it: Don't like, don't read it. Which is what I do 90% of the time I come on this board.

Please don't post the same message under multiple topics. It's more or less a breach of posting etiquette.

I was going to post the same comment... there should be some basic criteria for the design... butts should be covered, models should be able to walk and sit down.
