I really likes some of his creations others were a little out there for me. I do think that his final design was better served at the Oscars as opposed to the other award show. It seems that each award show has its own personality and you must dress that part. How do I feel about that. Stupid, wear what you want. Don't let the others influence you, be true to yourself.
Actually as of late I have stopped watching all the awards programs because they can be so boring. Whatever happened to the streaker that put Johnny Carson in a state of shock. Now not that I advocate that, but the shows have become so boring, I usually wash windows and it is just background noise.

Agree the actual awards shows are boring but I do like to watch the red carpet shows before to see what the fashions are and of course dish on the hairstyles and make up lol.
The old style Hollywood glamour has been gone for many years so I guess mostly I watch to see just how much of a disaster one of the stars will show up in
gina2
thanks swiss lol even with the typo? rofl!!
FashionPookie
Oh, come on people. If they didn't keep some people for their entertaining personalities everyone would be complaining about how boring the show is!

Not True. Seaon 1 and 2 were very different then this season and the ratings were still high. This season is full of drama and hardly any fashion. The viewers of this show are not couch potato junkies with no brain. We watch the show for thr creativity of it. I DO NOT watch any reality TV EVER! I HATE reality TV then I discovered this show and realized it was different and I became a fan instantly. Even actors/ celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker (she mentions it often) watch this show and we all know how actors feel about reality TV. That just shows you how different this show really is or should I say was. Watching art and creativity taking place is entertaining in itself for anyone with half a brain. No drama needed.

I wish I knew when she is going to do that little thing. I am starving too.

Yes it is really really hot down here. I am wondering if San Jancito was worth the effort. It is 14 days in the double digits this time. We had a two day repreve had not been for that we would be about a month gone with this heat. Thank goodness for freezers, ice cubes and light weight clothes.

What the bleep is Heidi's job on the show???? ..... To say go to Tim to find out your task and then to say "Aventisen" at the end of the show?????

Heidi is the co-owner of the show. Her job is host and judge, as she has extensive modeling experience, business acumen, design and fashion licensing experience, etc. Her job also is to shamelessly flash those spectacular gams. She's no dope, and knows full well that the show has to have some sex appeal to help grab those ratings.

And, not liking the harsh sound of the planned "You're cut," or whatever the original statement was going to be, she came up with the "Auf wiedersehen."

Auf wiedersehen is not the catch phrase of the show. Its "YOURE EITHER IN OR YOURE OUT" Auf wiedersehen just caught on with the fans but it simply means "Goodbye" in German.
lazylady
Doris Day is still alive but not out in public much.

You know this everyday woman challange. I think it would be cool if they did a soccer mom. They lead very active lives and it would should whether or not they could design something that is truly wearable.

So many of the stars of that time are gone it is amazing. I still am reeling about the guys in Grumpy Old Men dying one year apart. Dinah Shore...too. Just seems so many have gone it is difficult to remember.

The woman standing behind the screen in the preview has short hair & appears to be wearing a two-piece suit. A Doris Day staple. You're absolutely right about her look - very distinctive.

It could be Martha Stewart but I just can't see her doing someone else's show. I would love to see her judge though lol

"I think the designers are of a higher caliber than the first two seasons...except for Stacey who didn't know how to use a sewing machine!! Good grief!

You know, I didn't watch the first two seasons until there was season 2 marathon one day and I sat glued to the boob tube! Then watched a season 1 marathon. I have to say --- don't blast me for it --- that I don't think Wendy Pepper was as bad as everyone said she was. If you were to watch without any preconceived notions (and no influential message boards), she was actually pretty talented; I think the boards tend to influence people to think one way or another about a designer and then it snowballs.... "

That might be true in some cases but I didnt know about the boards until season 3 and I couldnt stand Wendy Pepper.
swiss74
Glad to hear Doris Day is still alive, I just was not sure. I know she slipped into a private life, after her husband Marty Mechler died and left her in debt and her son's home was the scene of the Tate murder, she just seemed to fade away.

It's not only offensive but uncalled for. I imagine the person who made the comment is ignorant, uneducated, inarticulate and immature in age and/or mentality. There are better ways to express yourself.

I cannot believe Allison went home! I'm just so upset about it. She had more passion and TALENT than any one on the show this season. Regardless, she is already a star and will go very far as a fashion designer. Why is Vincent still on the show?! Have the judges forgotton what this competition is about? Yeah, talent. The guy is a whack job and I think he lost his marbles in the 80s.

Allison, you have a great sense of style, grace and passion for what you do. I cannot wait to see what amazing, beautiful designs you give to the world. Best of luck.

"I think someone said it earlier. They think Vincent may have a breakdown very soon and they want to catch it on tv."

this is the funniest thing i have read all night. i like vincent. people need to realize that he is older and feels his time is up in the business. this is probably his last shot, plus he cashed in his 401k, thats a big deal. its not like he's younger and have time if you will to build his 401k up again. vincent designs are too over the top f0r me, much like dolce & gabana (sp). i can't stand most of their designs.

He's a grown man and it was HIS choice to cash in his 401K. This show should be based on talent. Vincent should not be kept on for dramatic or even sympathic purposes.

Am I the only person here who doesn't care for Martha Stewart? lol
gina2
Hi lego, of course as a top actress in her day Doris Day would always be impeccably turned out. these days actresses and actors go out in public in the the same clothes we do, alot more expensive though of course lol. In her day they would never dream of going out without getting totally made up, etc.
I still think as an earlier boarder posted that they might be doing a line for an "everyday woman" as in the commercials they seem to all be doing different pieces. the mystery is who the "everyday woman" is behind the screen!! lol Only 2 more days and we find out!! =o)
By the way, how do you get the font a different color in these posts?
Jazzie53
You know, the only thing bothering me about the possibility of it being Martha Stewart is the tie-in. With Macy's as one of the major sponsor's and MS linked to the K-Mart stuff, would they consider bringing her in as a judge???? Although, considering that MS is known for the "crafty stuff"....that could account for the enraptured look on Angela's face! Hmmmm......rosettes and fleurshons R Us????
*smile*
And while we're waiting on the grill....here's some chips and salsa (with jalapeno's right out of our patio garden) to go with the PR punch.

I did not think Wendy Pepper was as bad as everyone made her out to be. She was playing the game as they all were.
Even Jay now says he played the production.

In season one I know Jay wasn a lot of people's favorite but he never was mine. When he did his runway show for Fashion Week, I personally thought it was awful. All patchwork, country fashion and those headphones were just stupid. They added nothing.

Wendy did an okay runway but it was nothing to get excited about and I didn't think that Kara Sungs was great either but I think the shoe thing was part ofit. Ifelt if she cheated on the shoes what else had she cheated on while she was creating it.

I would have loved to have seen Austin's runway show just to see what he had done. I like couture fashion and he was really into it.

Here's a link to an article on Wendy -- the photograph of her doesn't even remotely look like the Wendy Pepper we saw...she's all glammed up! Strange...

I have never been a fan of her shows or all of the home stuff. I am not Harriet Homemaker and don't pretend to like anything about taking care of a home.

I have studied her some though because of her work and success. The woman knows how to run a business and make money. She is fairly ruthless and that is what it takes.

hiya gandm!! About Wendy Pepper, i liked her designs but her attitude and back-stabbing(two-facedness) is what turned me off of her on the show.(I read the article and "thought good for her", doesn't make me like her but I am glad she is doing well because of the show, which I don't think she gave enough credit to.

Well, despite my dissatisfaction with this epi, I have to say that Uli continues to be one of my favs.

I hope that this epi stops the talk about her being a one stitch wonder. Her dress was gorgeous. That silver and white braiding was beautiful.

One more thing, Vincent still sucks big monkey butt.

Actually, the irony behind that statement after last nights posting is so funny...because Vincent potentailly has a monkey butt....

I just went back and reviewed Jay's, Kara's, and Wendy's collection. There is nothing in either Jay's or Kara's collections that I thought looked really wearable - as is. Maybe you could piece it apart and find a couple of things but Jay's is just whacky and Kara's is --- blech! Fly girl gone bad! But I actually thought several of Wendy's designs could have been worn right off the runway...perhaps that's why she didn't win (aside from her attitude - but at least she didn't cheat like Kara did) ... I mean, most runway shows are for drama and you don't actually wear what they show on stage (unless you're Bjork!).

I never really liked her either, but felt they overkilled her crime, making her an example. I just never could understand her making money doing many of the things my mother taught me as I was growing up. Some of the stuff is just so common sense to me I crack up. I know many have determined her the guru of the home but as I said I knew much of that stuff before she hit the scene. From the movies I saw about her, she was ruthless and very driven. I don't know if I could do that. Possibly her jail stint made her become more humble and appreciate what she has instead of just out to make the almighty buck. Now making the buck is not bad, it is how you do it.

What if they picked someone from every walk of life with average weight and size..like a soccor mom, a secretary, a teacher etc...that might be interesting. Can't you see Angela "fluretting" up a poor 60 something secretary whose been doing her job for 40 years and doesn't like flowers.

Love her or hate her, she's a moneymaker!! I think she has savvy business sense and the jail-thing was ridiculous. Anyway, I don't have time to be Martha Stewart!! Between work and golf, there's not much free time to make a homemade apple pie with the apples grown from my self-planted apple tree in a tin pie pan that I've decorated with a tin punch after shaping it in my metalsmithing shop....

Can I trade my burger for a filet??? Pretty please

Your breast get bigger after kids, not smaller. At least thats all the women I know with kids and all the baby/ pregnancy books and my OB/GYN have told me each time I became pregnant. BTW, it's my understanding from a previous post that she is not the natural mother to five children -- 3 are from a previos marriage of her husband's. So she has 3 step kids, 2 of her own, and 1 more on the way. UGH. I can't even imagine having ONE to take care of, let alone SIX!
