I know that many ordinary people will probably love this challenge but I have a strong feeling this challege will be a big bore. What is fascinating or fashionable about the everyday woman? I guess it will show their range as designers but still I smell a snooze fest.

Don't feel bad...I have most her magazines. I don't think she's necessarily a nice or accessible woman but she's smart. And I think she's done wonders for uplifting the job of the "stay at home woman" She shows that it is hard work and a lot to do...As a stay at home mom, I am not even close to cleaning out closets and planting the mums at tht right time but I do think she shows others our value...
As far as Doris Day, she's at home with her many pets as far as I know and has no interest in coming back into the public eye (I just saw a thing on her on AMC). No, this everyday woman thing is goind to be interesting...I'm still not sure that it's one woman. Besides all this speculation isn't taking one hint into consideration: when the shadow appeared on the screen the person was shorter and pearshaped and I actually think I remember what looked like laced cuffs coming out of the bottom of the jacket sleeve...a look I don't think any of the suggested women would wear...just MO.

Yum.....burgers are ready!!!! *smile*
On the MS side of this discussion.....I've never been much into her stuff....what I want to know about this kind of thing I learned early from my mom, and between family, part-time job, and starting a business am more like Erma Bombeck that Martha LOL!
Though I will admit that one of my kid sisters adores Martha and is a Martha wannabe. Course...she has no kids, but does have a pretty responsible job, a very cool hubby, along with (at last count) a cat, bunches of birds, and one very pampered yorkie whom we all love!!!
Back on topic (sort of) is the consensus still running towards something involving Martha Stewart, as in designing directly for, or with her as a judge????
PS: Speaking of my Mom, boy would she berate me for forgetting my manners....Brillke, thank you for the "ongerful" burger, the "extradeluscious burger" and it's great to see you here....have some punch and salsa and chips!!!

If you are addressing those comments to the Executive Producer of Project Runway, that would be Heidi Klum.
HYSTERICAL!
But I will mention that I saw what I assume was a rerun of "Who Wants to be a Millionare" with Heidi as a celeb contestant. The question was about a designer who won a gazillion awards for costume design. Now I don't consider myself any kind of fashion expert or showbiz expert, but I knew the answer was Edith Head, and Heidi didn't even RECOGNIZE the name.
Made me question how much fashion background she has. Aside from wearing it, what does she know about history, construction, design yada yada. Prior to that I gave her more credit. Now I wonder.

I think there are enough "personalities" among the contestants to make an interesting show even if the challenge is about making more "working woman" or "professional woman" clothing. That's such a huge market, and there are very successful designers in this market as well.
The challenge is to make the garments look really good, but using materials that will be durable and using a design that is uncomplicated enough that it can be mass-produced cost-effectively. Even garments that aren't "top glam" or exclusive pieces can still take a lot of talent to design.
And if Martha Stewart is involved, it will be anything BUT a snoozefest.

I believe Heidi of Project Runway, was one of the originators of the entire idea is one of the producers, and owns a piece of the action.

There is also a reason why she was once a poor girl in Germany and now an extremely rich woman in the US of A. Hello, are we trashing "dumb blondes"? I don't think she qualifies.

Edith Head in real life had big round glasses and as I remember a bob like hair style.
They have a Pet Parade Show here too and everyone dresses them up for Halloween. It is cute, but the dogs are so funny trying to get the clothes off. Cats usually just lay down and refuse to move. I just laugh.
It all started out to keep the kids safe on Halloween. Organized activities that the kids would like so they were not walking all over possibly getting into trouble or kidnapped.

You know, I just do not think Heidi is all that beautiful. Now maybe she is in real life, but on TV she does not appear to be all that attractive. Yes she has the physique to be a model but not a real beauty in my book. I thought Gia was attractive, Christy Brinkley too. Guess it is all an individual choice. Some of the models are really stunning while others are just average in looks. I think Tyra Banks is not only beautiful but intelligent but Niomi Campbell is just average to me. Most of the European models are outstanding, that is why I think Heidi came here instead of staying over in Europe.
Boy am I getting out there with Haley's.

Is Americas Top Model a big hit? Ive never watched it and cant believe it would be bigger then PR. I seriously doubt Heidi stole anything from Tyra. Heidi has appeared on Tyas talk show and they discussed PR. If Heidi had stolen the idea from her I dont think they would have been so friendly with each other.

I do not think Heidi is dumb by any means but from what I hear she is being sued by two people because they submitted the idea to her corporation and were turned down and then she pops up on Bravo with the same idea. We will have to see what happens in the courts.
