What did I say about that word? I think LF is an aquired taste...I jumped on her at first but then one day we had a huge love-in and have accepted her for what she is..However, if she insults you, it's your right to respond in any fashion you wish. She opens that door, she knows what happens. No judgement from me.
Look what she has done to my name. I haven't posted since the first time she did that last week. It happens that I was autistic as a child. The autism developed into more serious neurological problems which continue to this day. Let's all be friends. Sorry.
Well, that insult you deserve an apology for...and that is why to this day my arguement with anyone isn't what you post it's how you post it...tone come thru. Things can get very personal, very quick as I have learned the hard way, by accidentally insulting someone, but when you have done someone wrong in such a fashion, you should apologize. Unfortunatly, we can't make her.
I do think we all keep coming back because we genuinly enjoy most poster's company.
I think that this has been a very personal week for everyone....like we're all on edge...Maybe Hiedi initiated something alot BIGGER (no pun intended) than she was prepared to deal with. It seemed important enoguh for Kathy N to speak up...

just my opinion but I think cowboy hats on anybody but cowboys is just plain silly!! lol
I don't like traditional stetson type hats on men (unless they work on a ranch). But I do like the casual cowboy inspired hats that have come out this year. They are fun for the beach and such.
My picture on my wallpaper is my son (at 6 months) wearing mine...it's one of my favorite pics of him
Sounds so cute damselfly. My favorite picture of Chase is him at age 3 in his red cowboy boots my dad bought him and a cowboy hat. The cowboy boots were worn until nothing was left. He even wanted to wear them with shorts, eek!. TG he outgrew them but hes asking for a pair in black now.

My moms fav story about me was when I was 5 my grdma gave me a pari of winter boots that looked like cowboy boots but they were furry on the inside. We lived on a farm in MA at the time and wore them all summer...she says she's never known smaller smellier feet. LOL!

Sometimes we are just tired, or in a bad mood, or whatever, and take something personally that was not meant that way. Nice explanation, though.

Somehow, I think it's just me, though....I love food too much! But the odd thing is, no matter what I do (even when I do really watch what I eat and am excercising), it seems I can only gain weight. If I'm moderately careful with food but stop exercising, I gain. Without changing my eating habits, when I do exercise, I don't lose. My body is a one way street! LOL
By the way, my mom is petite and wears a size 6. How frustrating is that!! Of course, she has little in the boob area and I had a reduction when I was 22. So we're definitely different body types...still, if I keep going at this rate, I'm just going to get bigger and bigger and bigger (like that girl in Willy Wonka who ate the blueberry gum)!!
I struggle with my weight also. It seems to me that I diet and diet and watch what I eat, and then 2 weeks into it, I get sick of not losing any weight at all. So then I eat what I want and next day I have lost five pounds. My body really likes to play games with me.

I really don't like Jeffery. As a person and a designer. The only design I like from him was the dog design and only because I have a corgi and he really captured his ears as the top and the ruff of white hair on the neck as the skirt...very literal in comparison to everyone elses design.

there's a huge gap between jeans and tshirts and moo moos and slippers.. lol
I wear jeans almost everyday and switch to sweaters in the winter. I don't care if that's wrong. It's appropriate for my lifestyle.
When you reach a certain stage of life it's more about comfort than fashion. I settled years ago on trousers or jeans in nice colors -- with elastic waists for comfort -- and polo and T-shirts in summer and turtlenecks and pullovers in winter. For dress up I may wear a self-made vest instead of the pullover. My 'fashion statement' is more in colors and color combination than in clothing syles. I wear colors and color combinations that I like.
Fashion? One day it's in and the next it's out -- but I don't really care!

I live in PA and I worked in a bridal salon. We would do fashion shows at local bridal shows and every time we would get in a couple fantasy gowns for the finale. One time we got the gowns delivered and I opened them to steam them out and they were blue jean gowns...Not my taste but man were they beautifully made and BIG. I reserve the word tacky for the time we got the american flag dress...I asked the owner if people actually wore them and she said not often but sometimes in the south outlandish gowns were popular...not trying to offend any of you southern ladies

LOL....because I eat too much for my frame!! Ok, plus, I remodeled my house last year -- MAJOR remodel -- so I didn't have a kitchen for EIGHT MONTHS!!! So I ate out EVERY DAY...do you know how big portions are when you eat out?!?! And, no, my eating out wasn't fast food -yuck!! I haven't eaten fast food (other than a subway wrap) in years! No Mc D's, Taco Bell, etc. I went to steakhouses, seafood places, and sushi primarily. My stomach has been stretched and I need to shrink it but haven't figured out how yet (and no surgery, thank you very much).
Plus, I love to play golf...which may burn calories (only a few) but doesn't burn fat b/c your heart rate isn't going up. So I end up choosing golf after work more than the gym...anyway, just because I don't have the time, doesn't mean I'm burning fat while at work or golfing or shopping for the house!!!

And I would have a nutritionist, and trainer, and home gym....if I had all of those resources at my fingertips, then I probably would drop a size or two (I would like to hope!!).

Huh? Do you mean me? Have I said something to offend??

Darling I would wear heels with gasoline soles in 110 degree weather in the Sahara Desert. Fashion over pain always, thats what helped me snag my husband.

When I first moved to Texas I was surprised at how many men wore cowboy boots, iron creased jeans and such. But I went somewhere can not remember and there were men in jean pants tuxedos. i could not imagine that and had someone told me about them I would have looked at them as if they had taken leave of their senses.
Some brides in Texas wear white cowboy boots with their wedding dresses. No groans, please! They don't look bad and perfectly in keeping with the culture.
I saw that in Missouri and it looked great. Yes the tux with jeans is a culture thing. I have moved around a lot and found that different parts of the country dress differently than other parts of the country. We all are so different but yet so much the same.
I think that is the reason people in different parts of the country are so upset because the big department stores are buying up the independents all over the states. I do not particularly want to be a cloned New Yorker or Los Angeles type person. We all need to be individuals and not a carbon of someone or someplace else.

Thanks for the link! I had completely forgotten what he looked like! I remember when Clinton replaced him and I was bummed. Now, after seeing him again, I think Clinton was a wise move in the right direction. Wayne reminds me of that two-man group from the 80's - Nelson?? Though as a brunette Nelson, not blond

Reminds me of a lovely book by Ruth Reynolds, 'if Ya Wanna Look Good Honey, Your Feet Gotta Hurt'.

At least you're in a huge metropolitan area with lots of stores to choose from!! Welcome to KC....home of the new MACY's that just replaced May company which just replaced, etc.!! When I had a much better figure, I would spend the $ to fly to Chicago or New York or Dallas for clothes! Fashion forward is NOT how I would describe clothing in KC!

No not you, it was just a general statement about people on the boards and people in their everyday life. I know a person who worked with me at one time that continually pushed buttons with phrases and she could never understand why people would be standoffish. No one ever really knew how to take her. She was a great person but her choice of words was poor and no one knew if she was serious of just kidding.
Did not mean it directed at anyone. I have just noticed that on the boards and in chat rooms you have to choose your words carefully so as not to offend because people can not see your body language and know if you are kidding or not. Since we have been having skirmishes lately here, almost every Friday they start, because of words.
No offense should be taken by anyone.

I don't want to get personal so I'm not posting this as a question but I would love to know how old everyone is. As I posted before I'm 29 and am glad to have so much in common with what seems to be a varying range of ages.
