Oh my gosh, I remember Paul Linde and all those Gidget movies. I remember way too much other stuff too, dates me totally. I remember when Van Cliburne won the Tschaikowski award and going to see him when he returned from Russia, he performed in Grant Park, in Chicago. It was free and it was booked before he won the award and he had to fulfill all those commitments. Needless to say I did not see him when he returned and you had to pay.

Nut house how can you say that. lol I thought it was the Project Runway Chicken Coop where we are dropping our eggs onto the runway. Boy am I tired.

No no no, your mistaken Swiss. Its not us dropping eggs on the runway. Thats how Angela makes her clothes, remember?

brillke

Yup her designs are a little cracked.

wow, i used to live in austin and i absolutely love it there! i think it's such a fun place to be. there's so much you can do anywhere you go. my friends and i used to go down congress and browse through all the thrift stores and go the the lake and stuff. i always rave about austin to all my NY friends and i would love to live there again. (but i'm not, moving back to my first love after school: seattle. another amazing and under-appreciated city)

btw, i thought that allison's dress was very cute and unique. the bow in the hair was not cute, though. i hated vincent's dress and i was so grossed out by how he kept saying he was "turned on" by it and how it "got [him] off". ugh.

My sister lives in Willie Nelson land in Spicewood off Hwy. 71, it is beautiful there, her house is up on a hill overlooking the Perdnales and Lake Travis. I think Austin is a great place to live.
JenniJune
i just posted about how i love austin and i think it's a fun and beautiful city. but i forgot what you said about college station. i've been there to visit friends and there's NOTHING there! it's pretty country, but that's about it. not to mention that many many people are conservative and stuffy and hick-ish. i loved austin's free and open attitude. if you were different, that was praised. i'm glad i went to high school in austin cause i missed out on all the typical high school drama stuff. now i go to school in NY and i appreciate what austin was all about. (plus, i loved how ironic it was that austin was the liberal island and the capital of a conservative state. haha.)

just grabbed on...
Rewatching Alison's aufin', just plain painful...
JenniJune
that's funny. i used to live off Hwy 71, too, but closer to the Y (where it meets hwy 290). i used to take drives with my friends down 71 to see the beautiful and gigantic houses up in the hills.

First let me say that schools are underfunded and no teacher is paid what they are worth.

And another thing....here's what hacks me off about Warren Buffet. Everyone is all 'ooohing and ahhing' over the fact that he's giving so much of his fortune to Bill Gates charities. That's great. Just great. Since a large portion of Gates' charities are for outside the USA!! I'm not saying he shouldn't give anything to Africa for AIDS,etc. But what about helping our schools HERE? Our cancer research HERE? Our AIDS funding HERE? Our homeless people HERE? Our farmers HERE? What happened to helping out the country that helped make you the richest man in the world???

It's true that the Gates Foundation has given a lot of money to fight disease/etc. in countries other than the US. But they do spend a not insignificant amount here in the US as well. So far in 2006, they've funded Global Health (their initial reason for being) to the tune of $6.5 billion, but that includes grants to US institutions including Johns Hopkins, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, UC Berkeley, and Northwestern University (among others). They've also contributed 2.7 billion in 2006 in US for education (K-12 plus scholarships), as well as 231 million in US for libraries. Could they do more? sure. But it's not like they're doing nothing for problems here in the US. (My attorney is a partner in Bill Gates's dad's lawfirm - Preston, Gates, & Ellis.)

My nephew and niece went to high school there, nephew lives in Dripping Springs. My sister's home is not a huge mansion, it is country style with a tin roof and a wide wrap around veranda, not too long ago they added austin stone terraces, it's a smaller home but very comfortable.

Austin is not what it used to be, yes it is still liberal but as I said College Station is better than Austin now Austin has nothing really to offer either. Just my opinion. Actually the roads in Austin are all torn up you can not move freely and going down to the main section of town is an experience of will power, but that is my opinion. I have friends there that just love Austin and would it move it their life depended on it. My friend's daughter went there to school and during the period she went there even she felt the "feeling of the city" was on a downhill flow. Hey it is all a matter of opinion. Some like it some don't. Me I still remember the nut in the tower shooting people like targets in a shooting gallery. Austin has positive and negative. Just a matter of opinion. Whether it is a liberal haven in a conservative state is not really important.
ARCPAC
Our show is on :-)
JennieC
how could alison get voted off???????? shes the best one there and you know it. my friend had to hold me down when that happened or else my tv would be in a million pieces
ARCPAC
I was upset too because she was the least catty girl on the show. However her choices with that dress did not come together. I was sad too :-(

Hey there gina, welcome back.
signgirl
I am still so disapointed that Alison was "auf'd". I am so mad that Angela and Vincent are still on there. Both of them seem, to me,to be stuck in the 80's with horrible taste. If either one of them make it till the end, I am not sure I will continue watching this show. I think if they keep them on it would be for controversy and not because they are good designers.
ARCPAC
I agree, Vincent is horrible!! WOW, Jeff is being an Jerk!!
gina2
about jeff being a jerk. This surprises you? lol
ARCPAC
I know he is mean, but how can he disrespect someone's mom :-( ?
gina2
I guess he felt betrayed that she was telling Tim that she didn't like the blue. I think it looks great with her dark hair, but I will wait to see the total look.
I really feel for angela's mom, it's so sad that he took it all out of context and blew it out of proportion. he totally hurt her feelings. How would he like it is his mom was treated that way?
bravoheart
Anyone notice the auction? The same person bought up all the dresses from the recycle challenge. I wonder who and why. Maybe someone from Waste Management? I could see them displaying all those outfits in some corporate HQ lobby or hallway.
ARCPAC
Yes, it was definitely inappropriate the way he spoke to her and ignored her feelings. To be honest, the dress didn't look good. I think Jeff has some issues. Tonight I feel Uli and Micheal had the best outfits :-)
swiss74
Well this is one where you need to remember, "Be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it." I was not surprised that Robert was sent home. As for the Jeff and Angela's mom skirmish, she should not have betrayed him about the colors to Gunn and he should not have been so defensive and opened his mouth. Was I surprised no, I just think it was a bad time to introduce this kind of a challenge because possibly one of the better designers was sent home. I would have loved to see what Robert would have produced if he made the top 3.
I also noticed that Angela was the only one asked how she felt about her mother's/sister's design. I thought that was unfair to Jeffery. There was a lot of hostility there on Angela's part.
Now for my last comment, I do not feel the women should have been able to determine anything about the outfits. The garments were difficult enough for them in many respects and the added "model" comments made it almost impossible. It probably added more constraints and made the project almost impossible for some. I feel that the ones that had the plus size people were at a disadvantage in some ways and when you add the constraints of the women's likes and dislikes it was really difficult. I don't think Jeff's garment was that ugly. Robert if he could have found a chiffon in red similar to Uli's garment he would not have been sent home.
This was probably the most disturbing episode yet. It was not at all satisfying in any respect.
gina2
as much as I hate to say it, Vincent made a nice dress and I liked it. I think that if Robert had loosened up and did some designing in brighter colors the past 3 challenges he might have been able to stay(yes i know he used orange this week lol). Maybe he should have been designing like he did for barbie, after all her clothes are never dull!! lol

Jeffrey is angry because his neck is bigger than his waist and he looks like he has down's syndrome.

Poor ugly Jeffrey, spent his whole life getting made fun of so now he has to make big, "artsy", cut-up clothing because he is "deep." And he has to get tattoos all over his neck because he is so "punk."

Whatever Jeffrey, if only your mother had gotten that coat hanger a little further in, we could have given your slot to someone else.

that was a terribly [censored] up thing to say.
i think he's a good designer, and although that's arguable, it was incredibly douchebaggy of you to say something like "if only your mother had gotten that coat hanger a little further in." judging from the mom episode, obviously jeffrey had real problems, more than just "getting made fun of".
mwwpeach
I have never done this, but i was so Shocked when allison got kicked off. I believe, as many of you do, that she was one of the best designers. Not only is she talented but is truly a classy lady. I can't believe the judges would not look at the past designs when trying to figure out who they want to be "OUT". I think that if Vincent had 1/2 the class that Allison does than he would have bowed out after this challenge. And just a a few questions...what is inovative about having a piece of paper with scribble all over it? my kindergarden art students know how to do that. Yes, allison made a bad choice with the hair, but i have never seen paper folded in such and amazing way. And why was the model wearing a bathing suit top undernieth the ugly vincient dress???

I am just so disapointed.

Allison...WE STILL LOVE YOU!!!!!

Thanks for the read. It is a really interesting article. I've even considered taking a few sewing classes since the first season, but I terrible at that kind of stuff!
swiss74
Just jumping in.

Now about Vincent's win. He never should have been there to even be able to design in this episode. I think what he did produce was not that bad. Maybe that is his area, "the older woman clothes." As I said in my previous comments, this was a very unsatifying episode.
cflower
ewwww!!! i cannot believe that Allison was eliminated on this challenge... how does Vincent keep slipping through the cracks - he totally should've been illiminated 3x already!!!!!
cflower
I understand your point, but this show is awesome!!! What I dont agree with is she based her opinion on whether she would rather look long and lean or chunky.... what it really comes down to is talent and the gurl couln't even walk in Vincent's dress!!!!!!!!!! Vincent keeps slipping through the cracks and unfortuantely true talent was illiminated on this episode, i dont think she meant her comment in a harmful way to plus size people, she simply made a bad choice... Go Michael & Uli!!!!

did i mention i own an emu farm in new zealand? and i run with the bulls at least twice a year. i have a chateau in nice. and bathe in cristal every winter in my hot tub.

Darling, that's it? Sheeshz. I own my own jetliner so I can flit off to my own home in the swiss alps whenever I want. Then I head to my fabulous apartment in Paris where I shop at only haute couture stores. I also have a lodge in Aspen, a summer home in upstate New York, and I winter at my mansion in Miami which is also where I keep my yacht. I have so many diamonds that I have a Brinks trunk follow me wherever I go. I own more Jimmy Choo shoes than even Jimmy Choo. And I have Vera Wang and D&G on retainer. I certainly don't work for a living and have a full staff that travels with me wherever I go (chef, chauffeur, masseuse, personal assistant, nutritionist, personal trainer, therapist, chamber maid...have I missed anyone?).

You forgot to mention that Tim Gunn is your personal dogwalker.. bet he is being promoted soon..LOL Great positive posts! I love emus. They are tempermental like me! Oh, did I mention the flocks of peacocks that roam my well manicured lawns? And my gold-plated loo?

Here is a link about Kathy Najimy(I forgot how to spell her name). Supposedly she wrote a letter to PR people saying she was upset about the plus sized model talk in this sad episode.

Harry Winstons are cigarettes

Harry Winstons are diamonds.

Correct. Winston is a brand cigarettes. Harry Winston is a famous Fifth Avenue jeweler founded by the man of the same name over a hundred years ago. (For pete's sake, people, just type "www.harrywinston.com" into your web browser.)

That said, I got the impression that that "kooky" nutcase Vincent actually thought he was referring to the cigarettes, mainly because I can't figure out why he'd be telling Laura to shove diamonds up her nose.

Oh, and I LOVE Laura! I think her critiques of the other designers' work are spot on and that she's trying to help them to produce better work, which is pretty remarkable given that this is a competition. She's ascerbic as hell, but I gotta tell ya, folks, a lot of us are like there here in NYC. I think her stuff is beautifully tailored and very architectural in its lines, even though it is occasionally a bit bland.

I'll second every good thing I've seen posted about Michael, every crappy thing I've seen posted about Jeff (what an A$$HOLE that bitter little turtle head is!), and I agree that there is no way Alison should have been booted on this episode.

Whoever said that PR has officially jumped the shark is absolutely right- the producers are clearly making the decisions, and they're not the ones who should be. If it keeps up, I'm betting that Michael Kors won't come back for another season. Nina Garcia doesn't care if her judgement gets overrriden by people who shouldn't be judging the quality of a paper bag, let alone fashion, as long as she gets to make snide remarks.

I didn't watch this show to see stupid "reality show drama". I watched it to see actual design. Now that it's clear that the winners and losers are being designated based on what idiot producers think will crank ratings, I've lost interest. I have better things to do with my time than watch tripe.

And yes, I'm another one who created an account solely to post about this episode and how stupid it is that television producers are obviously making the decisions rather than people who are actually in the fashion industry.

Congratulations, producers; your interference in what used to be a good process is going to tank your show.
redfunk
i agree.
i was sooo mad that alison got kicked off.
shes was defintely one of the best if not the best of the designers. she was my favorite of all of them. her first bad dress and shes gone. it's ridiculous. vincent and robert have had so many bad dresses and yet they are still there. michael's dress was nice but it was very plain. jeffery or uli should of won the challenge. i'm not sure if i'm going to keep watching PR anymore...
isxaxbella
There is /no/ way Alison Kelly should have been kicked off of the show. Look at Angela's dress! Horrible. What was she thinking?! Kayne's? It was a mess. AND VINCENT'S!!! IT WAS TERRIBLE! I WANTED TO CRY! He should definatly have been the one kicked off the show. I honestly don't even want to watch the show anymore. Once Uli's gone, so am I. I hope she makes it.

I read this article in "In Touch" about it being Heidi's fault. I'm not sure because the magazine is a bit sketchy most of the time. I scanned it here: http://usera.imagecave.com/ladyamandaoftor...tall/img030.JPG
gina2
I know what you mean, vincent should have been off the show after this mess so he wouldn't have gone on to win the next one. It's so unfair!!

Seriously. All he did was make a white dress and throw garbage on it- literally.

Michaels first win was great but I didn't see anything special about his next win. That plastic wrap was just stupid looking. Jeffrey got robbed.

Does anyone else find Heidi completely annoying?

Yes.

Frau Farbissina screeching or fingernails on a blackboard. I can't figure out which she channels more.
debbiedoob
Not only was Heidi annoying, she was very rude and cruel about the model that was a little (itty bitty, not even noticeably) "larger" as they called her in one instance. But Heidi called her a "fat minnie mouse." Well, if she looks at Minnie Mouse, this girl was a STICK in comparison. It's idiot women like Heidi that give young girls eating disorders. She even said the model looked like a "plus size model." Well, nobody tell anyone that's plus size modeling at size 12 or higher that its been downsized to size 2! That woman has no right to speak, she's not Twiggy skinny herself!

This show had become my favorite up until those absurd words out of her mouth. Now I'm cutting off Project Runway for good. I'm so sad that Bravo exec's let her say such cruel things and then aired them to boot. I may cut out BRAVO too.
D.guall
I liked Keiths and Lauras but I would have chosen Roberts to win. The back of it was stunning. I thought the top of Staceys dress was ill-fitting.
