hi there
totally agree with the Heidihuh jokes! HILARIOUS HEIDI (she probably thinks she's real witty though! )
Well, I think the way she says "byeee" to the designers at the beginning of every show makes my skin crawl..
She also has very limited use of adjectives like someone else here said, either modern or cheap!
hehe

BTW, also think that Vincent should go!!!!! please!

Laura needs some cover!! Jeff needs to wear a scarf!!
yessy
Yes please I'm tired of reading about people ragging on this person...lets get back to ragging on Heidi, Vincent and the producers that was more fun and and tons of laughs you guys crack me up!!!!!

Well, a couple of days ago, Entertainment weekly complained that the producers of this show exercise their hands too much in order to create drama. If you catch the credits at the end, they run a "disclaimer" saying that the final decision of the judges may be overridden by the producers.

I've seen the disclaimer, but I didn't know Entertainment Weekly said something about it. What was the article? What issue?
diemunkiesdie
I know everyone is saying to bring Alison back, but sadly that is impossible because the episodes have already been filmed.

I seriously question the integrity of the show that kicks out a designer for pattern making books one week and then eliminates one of the best designers on the show.

In case anyone was wondering, Alison has her own website (for her clothes) at http://www.dahlclothes.com/currentcollection.html . If you click on the LOST collection you will note that she is the model for her own designs.

sometimes i think she doesn't really understand english that well and that's why her comments are always so weird.

like how she'll say random things like "it looks like you just found a homeless man to sew you a dress and then he exploded and he was made of jelly beans and it got all over your dress and then a cat came and sat on it and that's your dress." i'm like 'what?'.

that's Heidi! lol

does anyone else notice that Heidi ALWAYS almost wears those four leaved clover shape earrings? I think its her own jewelry line or something...(kinda sick of it)
Wonder who is designing her clothes though? So far, so bad! haha

This was my last time watching this show! How ridiculous! It is SO obvious what they are doing! I used to like Heidi and now I don't. How stupid are they. Vincent and Kayne's dresses were both worse than hers. The only reason she got kicked off rather than them is because she is quieter. They would rather keep a freak and gay guy who goes over the top with his pageant dressing than a quiet, normal, and talented woman. She has made many nice outfits so far this season. Not EVEN ONE of Vincent's has even been close to decent! This show used to be way better. They didn't do this before. It's not entertaining, it's annoying! And they try to brainwash people into thinking their choices are logical. With their voice overs and editing. They tried to use the excuse that hers didn't flatter the body at all. Look at Vincent's! It was a sack with trash all over it! It was not creative. I could wrap someone up in paper or a sac and have my kid glue junk all over it and scribble and it would look better! The first strike was when they voted off Malan over the other freaks, this is the last straw! And the judges being as talented as they are themselves should be ashamed to be part of this show now. I would have no part in it if I were them! Also, Jeffrey should have won. Man, the whole direction they are going in this season sucks! And there was so much potential for a good show! Oh well, I guess I will just have to remember of the good show that the first 2 seasons were.

You'll be there in front of the tube next week for at least one of the multiple showings of the show. Don't even lie and say you won't.

Then, again, why would you want to watch a bunch of gays and freaks make crap, anyhow? Yeah, that's the ticket. Go watch something else instead.

WHY DID YOU TAKE ALLISON OUT!!! WHY IS VINCENT STILL AROUND??? BUT, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP HIM FOR DRAMA, THAT'S FINE. BUT, DO NOT KICK-OUT THE GOOD ONES.

They always keep the ones that they deem make good TV. It's not fair, but I guess they have their 'television reasons'.

I am outraged and confused. Allison was not the one whom should have gone home. It leads me to believe that the judges are either playing a very sick joke on me and the rest of the Project Runway fans or their simply blind. Vincent's dress was appalling, ugly and not to mention looked like a 3 yr old made it. At least Allison tried. And Vincent has consistently sent ugly crap down the runway week after week. How is he still there. Allison makes one questionable dress and off she goes. I am very disapointed, confused, and frankly pissed off. I think that the judges made a huge mistake. I am questioning my faith in the show. WHAT IS GOING ON, HAVE THE JUDGES GONE MAD!!!!! I can't take another week of Vincent crap. Like that hat!!!!!!

FIRST OF ALL THIS IS NOT THE EASIEST WEBSITE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. SECOND AFTER TONIGHTS PROJECT RUNWAY I'M SECOND GUESSING AS TO WETHER THIS SHOW SHOULD BE AN EMMY AWARD WINNING SHOW. NOT ONLY DID THE WRONG PERSON WIN BUT THEY SENT THE WRONG PERSON HOME. THEY MADE A COMMENT ABOUT KAYAN MAKES GOOD CLOTHES A BUT THAT SHOULD OF BEEN USED FOR ALLISON AS WELL. VINCENT SHOULD OF WENT HOME HES BEEN IN THE BOTTOM THREE MORE TIMES THAN ALLISON WHICH WAS HER FIRST TIME ON THE BOTTOM THREE. IF THEY ARE GOING TO USE A "BUT" THEY SHOULD OF FOR ALLISON. VINCENTS OUTFIT WAS THE COSTUME TONIGHT MORE THAN ANYONES. IN MY OPION THIS REFLECS ON WHAT THE JUDGES SEE AS STYLE AND THE FACT THAT THEY WOULD RATHER SEE PEOPLE NOT ABLE TO WALK THEN HAVE A BOW IN THEIR HAIR. LAST SEAON SOMEONE WENT HOME BECAUSE IT WAS STIFF AND THEY COULDNT WALK IN IT WELL WHY IS IT DIFFERENT THIS TIME? I THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE THE FINAL SEASON OR NEW JUDGES ARE TO BE SELECTED. FORGET NINA AND MICHAEL THEIR TIME IS UP. THEY DONT KNOW TASTE ANYMORE AND I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING OF MICHAELS. AFTER WHAT HE DID TO DANNY AND NOW ALLISON. I THINK HE IS IGNORANT, STYLELESS, AND NEEDS TO GO. VINCENT SHOULD OF LEFT PERIOD.

Please stop screaming at me. You're making my eyes deaf.

Boy, at least 50 people tonight have proclaimed that they will never watch this show again.

Face it, you're emotionally invested in this show. And, you'll watch it next week. Secretly, you know it is true. Bravo knows it, too. They've done a good job of setting the hook and are now reeling you in.

I think this season has been masterfully constructed, filmed and edited. The proof of the pudding is that we are all so into it much earlier this season than in past seasons. Bravo to you, Bravo.

you are probably right about being invested in this show, but i really do think if we orchestrate a strike for next weeks episode then maybe they will learn a lesson. how hard is it for us not to watch just one episode? weakness is why tv execs know they can make these kind of decisions. lets not let them get away with it.

Get away with what, exactly? You may not have agreed with their decision regarding Allison's pouf skirted, parrot-shouldered chubby dress, but the judges did have a reasonable basis for it.

I never react to these episodes with "he wuz robbed" or "she wuz robbed." Each time, I can see why the judges auf'ed the person. So long as they had some reasonable basis for their decision, that's fine with me even if I might have disagreed with their conclusion or my fave just got hosed. I don't think the judges are being arbitrary and capricious, [expletive deleted] to ratings, or puppets of the producers. I do see integrity in their decisions. Somebody has to go each week. It is what it is.

All this forehead slapping, bodice-ripping sobbing and emoting is really amazing to me.

I am sooo disappointed by the results of tonights show...I am completely confused on what the judges saw in Vincents dress it was horrible...Alison made one mistake and gets kicked off..I am considering not watching the rest of this season...Alison had talent and I would have wore ever outfit she created...I think the judges need to realize they have made a mistake and make sure they kick Vincent off next week!...

I will miss Allison,

I never thought Allison was that good. Her clothes didn't strike me. But, I liked her personality, her smile and her demeanor. That will be missed. I don't see how she left over Vincent, other than the Producers at times go for entertainment other than design. It is a show afterall. Due to the fact that she never argued, never backstabbed, never complained and was soft spoken, therefore, she had to leave. She offered nothing to the artistic or strategic structure of the show (as far as entertainment). They do this because they know the viewers will complain and that equals viewers and ratings.

Whatever Jeffrey, if only your mother had gotten that coat hanger a little further in, we could have given your slot to someone else.

What was Vincent's model wearing underneath the dress? Did you see the straps? That was not there when he was making the dress. How come he gets away with adding undergarments like that. A couple episodes back, his dress was very short and then his model showed up on the runway was some leggings. How come Zulema couldn't add something like that when she got reamed for the super short dress last season.

cuz the outfit had to be made from the clothes off their backs

I too, am reconsidering my interest in Project Runway. I am tired of all the drama that's been going on. Alison seemed like a very nice person and a very talented designer. I have sifted through the last 20 pages or so of posts and I think Heidi was wrong. It also says something about this show when the people on this show think plus size fashion is taboo. I may not know everything about fashion, but I know that just because one person does not represent high end fashion because of her size does not mean that it should be shunned by the fashion industry. I really think that something wrong has gone on here, with Heidi's comments and with Alison's elimination. One final note: I know Vincent is not the most popular designer here. His designs, I agree, are very off the wall and just something that few would wear unless they are very desperate. Yet if I am wrong for sticking up for him, then tell me. If I have wasted all of your time on this board, tell me. If you want me to go away, tell me, because I sincerely apologize if I have wasted any of your time.

Well said. No prob.

Pacey,
Au contraire, I appreciate your comments on this board. Your thoughtful, quiet, and humble approach is welcome here, especially on a night of inflammatory commentary. Keep posting...

I'm with you. I'm probably not going to watch next week or any further because of what happened. My sister got to her breaking point when they kicked Nick off last season, though she watched the finale anyway. Just seeing anyone eliminated in dramatic fashion has become too hard for me to watch. There should be room for plus size models on the show. You shouldn't feel ashamed because you are plus size. No one should. I admit I am plus size but not by an obscene amount. For me it's come from stress since Hurricane Katrina. It's shameful that some people in fashion believe that plus size is inappropriate. I guess that in general shows how elitist the world of fashion can be sometimes. It is unfortunate, and it is unacceptable, for people to think that plus size equals ugly and unattractive. Who wants to boycott this show because of Heidi and her elitist opinions?

Wrong. We clearly saw one about the size of a large olive. Geez, with all that money she can't get a proper boob job? If she can get all that botox, and what looks to be fat sucked from some other body part and injected into those fakey-looking overly round cheeks, then why the heck isn't she getting those little cupcake hooters fixed, too?

as much as I understand that the judges do not know what is going on behind the scenes, and as much as it's all a matter of taste, i've always been able to find a reason for why they picked a person to be out. HOWEVER, Allison over Vincent? I've seen in the past (and like Kayne tonight) where someone made a horrible outfit, but if you look at their past work, it can be forgiven them. So, they had better not have done it that way this time because there is no way you could consider allison's work in the previous challenges (where she easily could have won a couple) and look at vincent's work from the previous challenges and say Vincent should be in. This is Allison's first time in the bottome three! I was getting to assume that Vincent was to be EXPECTED to be in the bottom three. It was kind of comforting to know that. You know, a nice comfortable routine we can all settle into. Even Tim, on his podcast said that if wasn't for Allison's hairdo on her model, he (and allison) thought she might win this one. He said he could see what the judges were saying, but had a hard time accepting that Vincent wasn't chosen. Oh the reason Laura (who i thought at first was being unnecessarily combative - i mean, does that help?) was ripping into vincent is that Tim said Vincent had been going on about how wonderful his model had looked and how he had told her to go slow down the runway (it took forever, for obvious reasons) and blah, blah, blah. So he was being smug for a guy who should have been kicked off and being that way in front of Allison.

So, I will always watch this show becasue I love it and I still think it has merit - it is made by humans, after all, i don't expect them to get it right all the time - I just find it hard because I kind of saw allison like i saw michael -really good at what they do, just waiting a few episodes to get noticed.

sad day on PR.

Parnell,
Thank you very much for the kind words. I try to remain humble and soft spoken all the time I am here. It's natural for me. I would never try to cause trouble or anything like that or say something inflammatory or bash designers left and right. All I want to do is offer criticism when it is needed, but not outright defamation. I personally know one of the designers online, one who has been talked about constantly here for a while and has been criticized, at times unjustly, for his personality, his mental state, and his approach. He is a nice guy if you get to know him. I talked to him several hours ago and he is getting offers left and right to design dresses. We share some things in common with each other as well. I'm just tired of seeing him constantly being put down by people. Even more, it is painful to see people make fun of him just because he has personal issues, because I was once in a position like he was, and what happened to me was far worse than I would like to admit, and yet, it helped. The problem was corrected, and though life has only gotten more complicated due to recent events, I am feeling far better than I have ever felt before. So please, you can criticize his designs all you want, but please don't make fun of him as a person. That's all I ask. Thank you.
yessy
omg you r absolutely right...you reminded me about the straps cause I was definitely sitting there wondering what the hell was going with that and waiting to see if they mentioned it....yeah zulema did get gipped pissed me off even if she was a witch!

Yeah - I'm done with this show - Vincent has been in the bottom three for the majority of the challenges while Alison has been solid in every one. Total choke job by the judges and producers. Heidi was probably mad that Alison is hotter than she is, and by the looks of Heidi's outfits, has better taste...
tvaddict
I know that Zulema got into trouble because it was the clothes off your back challenge, but I didn't think you could add pieces to your outfit. If Vincent's model didn't add things for this challenge or the one where he added leggings, his outfits would have been "vulgar" as they like to say.

I, too, am a first time poster who was so upset by the blatantly wrong decision that was made tonight that I felt compelled to speak up.
My viewpoint is that the validity and integrity of this show are totally dependent on the fairness of the judging and tonight that judging was so far off that they have lost my allegiance and my future viewership.
Some posters have suggested that the producers may have manipulated the judging to suit their ratings related perceptions of what we viewers want to see. If that's true, then I have to question the personal integrity of "fashion experts" Michael Kors and Nina Garcia to allow their supposed opinions to be dictated by others. After tonight's fiasco, they look a lot like puppets with the strings showing.

I can't help but think that it is because Alison's model looked plus size that brought out such an ugly reaction from Klum and the other judges. The comments were outrageous, and the meanings behind them glaringly obvious-

"To me she looks huge"

"She looks like a plus model, and that's just not flattering at all"

"Would I rather look like a fat mini-mouse, or would I rather look slim and long?"

"We can't believe that a female designer could be so careless with the female form"

This wasn't about Alison's design. This was plus size discrimination plain and simple. Project Runway merely reminded us just how much the plus size woman is hated in this industry.

Alison is very talented and has a bright future ahead of her, but I hope that whatever she does she will remember what happened on this episode tonight and be a designer who is willing to work with women of all shapes and sizes. Not just the waifs.

It is true that these comments reflect ignorance and prejudice on the part of those who make some of the major decisions in the fashion industry. It is not ok to be prejudiced against race or gender…but if you are a larger size it is still open season for people to judge you unfairly and act against you with prejudice. People are hateful, cruel, selfish and ignorant.

I have always found it amazing how fashion designers, marketers, and anyone wanting to make money in this capitalist society can ignore over 70% of the population by designing for such a small limited consumer body type. There is so much potential money to be made for anyone who can break into the market of designing elegant, sophisticated clothes for the “average” and large size women. The sponsors, Macys and Banana Republic, are consumer driven yet they, like other retail clothing stores, (targeting a thinner demographic of teenagers and those in their 20’s…anyone over 30 be damned!) …they completely miss out on the potential of making HUGE amounts of money. STUPID!

Larger size women would buy a hell of a lot more clothes if they could actually find things to wear that were complimentary to their body and to their taste. There are very few large size retail outlets, and most of them only provide a limited amount of hideous, patterned and appliquéd “costumes” as a substitute for real sophisticated, respectable fashion. When I walk into a Calvin Klein store I see muted beautiful tones and colors and a variety of wonderful textures and fabrics (nothing to do with the size of the clothes), when I walk into a large size store, all I see are loud bright colors, garish patterned fabric, hideous floral, animal and glitter, beaded applied designs stuck on the garments to try to make the clothes more interesting (again nothing to do with the actual size). It makes the clothes look like a circus vomited on everything and this is the only choice many “average” American women have to deal with when trying to find respectable clothing.

As a large size woman, when that is all you have to choose from that is often all you can wear and you have to find compromises because you can’t leave the house naked!
So a lot of "average" larger size people wear and make clothing choices that only support these fashion stereotypes because that is all they have as an option. (Unless you sew!).

I know I would spend sooooooooooooooo much more money on clothes if I could find them. There are many times I go shopping and can’t get anything, not because it doesn’t fit, but because I personally would rather wear the same plain black slacks and shirt I always wear than buy any of this ugly costume crap. The selection for sophisticated clothes is limited and impoverished. There are a few exceptions…but VERY FEW.

It is sad that project Runway perpetuates these fashion stereotypes and prejudices while trying to appeal to a consumer audience of average Americans who could never meet that idealized expectation or even purchase or wear anything made in the program or by their sponsors.

IRONY is alive and kicking among HYPOCRITS.

I read through a lot of tonight's boards and just hope I'm not repeating anything someone has already talked about.

On another post someone talked about how Heidi's fashion this season isn't so great. I totally agree!!! Were those black JEANS she had on tonight??? Maybe not, but it definitely looked like it. And one of her old tag lines I've noticed she's gotten rid of (I think) is, "You represent the best...and the worst..." This used to drive me nuts because even last season she used it with the final three! And certainly no one in the final three represents an absolute even-my-grandma-in-her-coffin-wouldn't-wear-your-clothes-kind- of WORST. I'm waiting to see if it resurfaces in the rest of the season. As for those who wonder what Heidi's even doing there, if you read the credits I believe she's an Exec Producer now, so not only isn't she going anywhere, but I guess she'll wear, do, and say whatever she darn well pleases!! lol

As for tonight's episode, I pretty much agree that Alyson should have stayed over Vincent, and I can only conjecture that they did it because she's young and can either come back like Franco, or recover better than poor Vincent who seems to have sold his children, mama, papa, and his own organs just to be a part of this extravaganza. Should he have gone? I don't know. Notice they barely showed Angela at all in this episode, and her dress looked like a pinball machine to me. Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist, but I think Angela won that last challenge because the judges revisited the lavish OVERpraise they had given to Vincent's pageant dress, and realized Angela was right all along. Still, she should have gone before both Vincent and Alyson, this episode was just an editing nightmare. And even though I really like Michael a lot, Jeffery won this HANDS DOWN; his creativity was unmatched! As for the Laura fans, that mama bear has FAR too much to say about everyone and everything; someone said in a post that she defended a fellow designer against Jeff, but that's only because she dislikes Jeff so much. She'd sell one of her kids for a decent pleat, and I can't imagine why the judges haven't pointed out by now that she's just repeating herself and that although she may have a certain "look" (i.e., totally derivative of someone like Ralph Lauren by the way and not an original spark in her brain), she's simply perpetually predictable and boring, and just needs to go.

I've gone on and on so I'm sorry; my first post this season and all. So I might as well say I think Jeffery's gonna win. The first season it was the up-and-comer; then the already established looking for a leg up quiet but talented middle of the roader; now it's the loud rebel's turn. Welcome to TV! lol

As eager as I am to jump on any bandwagon taking Heidi to task, I have to say this one comment is being blown wayyyy out of proportion. Yes there are problems in our culture and within the fashion industry dealing with the images of women, and one would like an emptyheaded supermodel to be slightly more enlightened as to the words she used to express herself. But the fact is Alyson's creation was not at all flattering to her model, which made it non-functional. I think no matter what size you are - whether you're a supermodel or you're a size 14 - you simply will not wear something that makes you look bigger than you ALREADY are! And setting all of our cultural politics and what-have-you aside, wasn't this what Heidi was REALLY saying (though I'm loathe to come to her defense)? Maybe Alyson shouldn't have left, but the fact is she still designed a bad outfit, pure and simple, that strove to do absolutely nothing for the body it was designed for. So even though these are sensitive subjects, try to be somewhat distanced and objective and not read too much into something that really doesn't mean anything at all.
