But guess what Kayne didn't win last week and Jeffery didn't win this week get over it darling. On to the next challenge please. Many say that Michael was robbed the first and second week it's all a matter of taste, fortunately some have better taste than others. Go Michael keep designing beautiful fashion for real women, not draq queens or circus freaks.

Jeffrey's dress was the only one that moved because he was the only one that use material underneath the newspaper whereas the other designers only used what they found at the site. Also, Michael was the only designer to use 3 or more different materials to create his outfit. Jeffrey's dress was nice but i am not so sure it was innovative. He used newspaper and painted it...My daughter could do that...I also agree that Allison should not have went home. Her dress last night was horrible but she has done nice work previously. Vincent although I like his personality for some odd reason, should have went home...

The only thing I could focus on during the episode was the fact that Laura's boobs were hanging out the whole time!! For someone who is supposed to be so sophisticated, she really looked like a skank. And she as children! Shameful.
Vincent should have been off and Uli should have been in the top three instead of Laura.

I'm not sure about this. If Jeffrey used material underneith not only would have Tim spotted it but he would have probably lost the challenge for not paying attention.
Oh yea, I'd like to see your daughter recreate that Jeffreys dress.

First of all reading is fundamental. Why don't you go back to my post and read it thoroughly. I never made the comment that nobody here knows high fashion, I said most of you don't. That's a big difference darling. I make assumptions of taste by what I read from posters on this site. Like I stated before most that come here don't understand high fashion.
Well, as a newbie you certainly are presumptuous. If you had been here a while, you'd see the sophisticated critique of fashion going on here. Just because everybody doesn't buy it doesn't mean they are brainless.

come to think of it, i do remember michael kors saying something about the fabric underlying jeffrey's dress, like as the foundation for the paper. at the time i just assumed it was something he got at the recycle plant, but on second thought, why would there be fabric there? i wonder what he used, and where he got it?

And in Tim's podcast he mentions that Laura really thought about her model when she fully lined her dress so maybe, like the flower challenge there is always muslin available (because they need it to drape) and they can use it whenever however.

I agree 100%. How did Angela's poor excuse for a garment make it with the passable group? That dress was hideous! And Vincent...ah Vincent...how sorry do the producers feel for him. He must have some kind of old 80's business contacts still in the fashion industry that keep him on the show week after week. Does anyone notice how much easier the judges are on him as compared to the other designers? Poor Allison...she should've made it a heck of a lot farther, and to lose to whacked out Vincent, what a slap in the face.

I don't think they are being "easy" on Vincent, there is just somebody who always does a little bit worse, so he lives until another day.
Remember when Top Chef had a guest judge from Queer Eye? This would have been the perfect challenge to do the same kind of cross-marketing and have Harold as a judge. Vincent would have done even better, since his dress looked like food.

OK, Tim did "spot" it and it is in his comments.
and it is not illegal for the designers to use muslin in this type of challenge. (remember Daniel V's flower dress? the bodice was attached to muslin.)
also, it was stated on the graphics when the dress went down the runway that his materials were newspaper and muslin.
so, the poster was correct, courtesi, jeffery did use muslin.

WHAT where the judges thinking kicking Alison off the ONE time she messes up? How is Vincent still there? He always messes up! At least Alison had some creative vision. Texture, color, something different. Vincent's dress had none of that. Seriously .. WHAT? There is no reason for me to even watch the show anymore. I was rooting for Alison.
I'm really starting to wonder about the JUDGES taste in clothes and design. This season has been the craziest so far with who they chose to keep and send home.

This is my first posting on this message board, although I have watched the show for awhile. I, too, thought Allison should not have been voted off, when Vincent's design was just so awful. I have loved the fact that this show is about clothing as art, but there is nothing artistic about his designs, from the basket on the head to the weird Twiggy outfit to last night's getup.
Watching truly creative people is entertaining enough -- please, Project Runway, don't try so hard to manipulate us with this crap. We see through it. It cheapens your show and shows disrespect for your viewers.

I was absolutely stunned when Alison was kicked off. She is one of the strongest designers on the show. I can't believe Kayne, Vincent, & Robert are still on the show. They seriously lack talent. Jeffrey is iffy, but did an outstanding job tonight. Michael, & Laura, as usual, did an outstanding job. I really thought Michael, Alison & Laura were the strongest contenders.
Alison? Come on...are the judges blind & dumb?

I was so baffled after last night's show I joined this board and this is my first post.
Allison has been in the top three in almost every show. Vincent has been in the bottom three in almost every show. They kept Robert (Matel guy) because they saw potential even though his designs bored them. Why wouldn't they give Allison the same exception?
So I do not understand where the producers are on their decision to kick off Allison. Is it because she is too young?

Sweetie, you have to quit candy coating and tell us how you REALLY feel.
Allison got sucked into Angela's bubbleskirt fetish, apparently.
I think what has people so upset about the plus size model comment, is that it somewhat implies that heaver people just can't possibly look good in their clothes. Not to mention she said it in front of the model. That showed no class on Heidi's part.
Obviously they don't realize that 80% of the women in this country are size 14 and UP!! It kinda tickles me that they have all made fun of Angela's ballon skirts but Allison copied it and if you look back on Jeffery's Madonna outfit so did HE!!lol And to think he was so worried about being picked by Angela for the the challenge she and her team won!! I had to agree with Laura - if he is so successful, why is he there and why hasn't he won a challenge yet!! I do feel Vincent should have been cut no Allison!

Hello! I am new to the board, but certainly not new to the show. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.
I feel as though we are missing the point a bit with Vincent and the other designers that have been viewed as perhaps being "unjustifiably" booted off of the show. Are these really the designers that we expect will remain in the final three? Is there conjecture about the order that these folks have been given the boot, yes, but in the end, does it really matter?
The producers do influence decisions, this we already know, but they are not going to toss off top talent for the sake of good television. It should be interesting to watch and let's face it, it is realty television.
My guess regarding who will remain in the end: Michael (calm and cool with an amazing sense of what looks great on the female form), Jeffrey (dramatic but talented) and Uli (the quiet, dark horse). Vincent will ultimately go, hopefully sooner rather than later, as will our militant mom, polished, wearable designs that are predictable and boring. We all should simply absorb the drama for what it is, a roller coaster ride with which we may not all agree, but is fun to watch!

I can see you are being very literal. If my daughter was asked to make something from that recycable site they went to i am sure she would be quick to pick up newspaper and color it rather then take three different materials and create something out of nothing. Also...the material Jeffrey used is the white draping that all of the designers use in their other designs. The white fabric they use underneath the clothing. I do not think they were not allowed to use it but Jeffrey was the only one that did use it therefor creating more movement and less innovation...Thanks!

If you look at the picture of Vincent's dress in Tim's Take, it really isn't that bad to look at. The asymertical black bands, the black straps, and the occasional black doodad amongst the stuff stuck on it makes for a very eye-catching design and shows a superior sense of composition and balance. And, seen full view, the texture is actually well done, too.
The thing may have been like a big cardboard tube when his model was on the runway, but it really is an interesting look. I think people dislike Vincent and are automatically writing off his dress without really looking at it. I also think his previous work was outdated and odd-looking (I hesitate to say crap becasue it was well-executed), but he did something really innovative here.
Can't believe I'm defending his dress. But, when you keep an open mind, it is just really interesting looking. And, it didn't commit the ultimate sin of making his model look fat.
I'm not a Vincent fan. But I do give him props for creating a really interesting look, here. Give that picture a really good look and now imagine that Michael, Laura or Kayne had done it. You'll be dumbfounded at what you see in it. I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor.
I know Tim hated it (and that is SO easy to do so on first look), but I'm stunned to find much to be impressed by in it, even if it isn't really wearable.

with that said and as much of a colosal [expletive deleted] he is; jeffrey should have won. i love michael but it was no where near the visual oomph or even the innovativeness of jeffrey's piece. and on michael; im finding their attitudes toward him to be disgustingly patronizing, like hes some kind of idiot savant! look at him! he can articulate his feelings!it feels alot like reverse discrimination. hes terrific period. stop acting like hes some sort of anomoly because hes a straight black man.
ive never been an alison fan but that auf was rather abrupt when you consider vincent has been in the bottom a few times already.

How to respond to this? Let me count the ways.
1. I'm probably old enough to be your grandmother. Thanks for the compliment that I sound so young. I do think I'm a cool mom and a with-it broad.
2. You've worked at one of the top fashion houses in New York with haute couture? Gosh. Let's parse this little brag. Exactly how long were you there? In what capacity? Any secretary or receptionist at any fashion house in NYC could make the same claim.
4. And what is with this "I've been in and indulged in the fashion industry" crap? How, exactly, were you "in" the industry. You haven't established your bona fides at all. And as for "indulging" in the industry, what, that means you buy some fancy clothes? Or, you finger them lovingly as they go out to the rich clientele and mutter "there, but for the bucks and social status, go I"?
5. As to your dismissive reference to the participants here as "you wholesale bargain basement shoppers," yeah, a lot of us go for well-made, fashionable clothes at the most attractive price we can find, from sample sales in NYC to various creative ways to look good without breaking the bank. You might try the same, and save those dollars for some apparently needed therapy for your patronizing hostility toward others.

First I am not a newbie to project runway ~ just never felt the need to post here before this episode.
I think people are way too upset about the plus size comment and this is from a plus size person. Alison's problem was she did not design an outfit that fit nor was attractive on her model.
The garments are custom made for models that the
designers have been working with for many weeks (unless it is one of those weird mix up challenges). Remember season one in which models were constantly reassigned? Alison knew her model's size and should have considered it in the final product. Like Kayne, Alison was unhappy with her project, scraped it and ran out of time. Its too bad she was the victim of the judges this week.
Vincent is horrible, weird and the producers think he is good theater. If project runway was honest the designs would be pre-judged by the panel without the judges knowing who made the outfit. I challenge the producers to have an anonymous design episode.
I love Laura and Michael. Their designs are timeless.

As Tim has stated in the past, they keep muslin there for them to use as they want. Last year they had a problem with Zulema hogging the muslin and the others never had any or hardly any. They are allowed to use the muslin with out restraints. Remember Chole used it last year to put all those leaves on for the Garden Party challange.. It is common for designers to use muslin for pattern pieces for fit. I do it all the time.

"Check your grammar before advising me on class. In the future I promise to leave the debating with the lower crust of fashion society to the rest of you on this board that seem to have issues with my previous posts."
yawn.
and perhaps you want to check your French dictionary.
Au revoir means you're leaving.

I missed last night's episode, as I'm way on business. My cousin is model Katie Champion. Unfortunately, she was paried up with the losing designer last week, Bradley. Does anyone know if they did a swtich in the beginning this week and if she is still on the show, or was she booted off? Thanks.

Ok, ok. I cannot lie, I did in fact say to my fiancé, as he only half listened while I was intently watching the show, that Vincent was way overdue to get the boot. I was indeed shocked that Allison was booted in his place, BUT, I do think that Allison would have been booted ultimately anyway, perhaps just a hunch and that she is quiet and somewhat predictable (makes for boring television).
I think that all of the designers have talent, certainly varying in degree and in taste; however, in the end the cream of the crop will rise to the top. In my heart of hearts I do not believe that it would have included any of the designers already booted (except for my weird fascination with Malan – another story for another day).
We can just sit back and hope that Angela and Vincent go in the next couple of weeks.
