Welcome to the Bravo message boards thread for Project Runway episode 307, "Everyday Woman". In this challenge, we get to learn *a lot* more about the designers' lives and influences.
(And on a personal note, this is your BravoBoardBoss' favorite episode of Project Runway, from any season, ever! You're all in for a treat.)
Also, be sure to check out the BravoTV.com video player later tonight, because the Bonus Videos for this episode are particularly great.
Enjoy!

I am very excited about tonight's episode...how ironic that the "plus size" and "fat" comments were so controversial LAST week and THIS week is directed to us "nonmodel" types. Coincidence?...ha! Anyhow, it is supposed to be a great episode and I can't wait!
This is my first post on the boards....(finally convinced my husband that it is only fitting that a fashion nut like myself be able to communicate with fellow Project Runwayers, as he believes anything that is on TV that is not sports related is pretty much pointless : ). Look forward to meeting you all....any advice on how to post a message without having to reply to one?

**SPOILER**
I saw in the preview that Heidi had the silk bag in her hand. This means that the designers may be choosing different models. I really, really, really hope that someone else chooses Jia. I am just sick over the thought that Vincent may be the designer working with Jia in the top three. I you don't know, Jia was hit by a bus in July. The news reports revealed that she was one of the models in the top three.

Intriguing lead-off for the thread. BBB, I have never seen you so verbose. I'm really looking forward to the show now, since you've given us such deliciously teasing hints.
Your favorite episode? That says ALOT. More about the designers' lives and influences? Sure speaks to the models being the designers' moms. I can't wait!
Thanks for the tease!

isnt it funny how the highlight of your day involves watching reruns of PR youve seen a million times, only to be followed by counting down the minutes to the next episode? hehehe pass the punch!

I would like to request that the snacks accompanying tonight's show be in keeping with the spirit of the episode. No to the diet soda and low fat sour cream! Bring on the real thing!
MOO
P.S. I presume this is still a no smoking environment.
P.P.S. Merry Wednesday!

I like that! Although the salsa's made with fresh jalapenos from our patio garden! Oh...and for those enjoying Sangria, I have a bowl of fresh lemons from a friend's tree...big juicy luscious type ones to slice up and float in the sangria punch!
Counting down....and I'm counting on you all to keep this West Coast lady on top of the situation! (And yes, remember, I'm the one who opens gifts as early as I can get away with!)
4 minutes!

I did notice that!
How cute was 'Fat Kayne'? I'm proud that he was able to shed so much weight.
And Jeff's mom, crying...so sweet, she seems to proud of him.

I could be wrong, but I think this is going to be one of the best PR episodes ever! What I really like is that I think it will give us a great chance to get a glimps of who the designers are as real people.

Not to mention whether they are really truely good designers....I'm sorry but if someone can't design for anyone over a size 8 then they shouldn't be the next great designer...

Yeah, I saw that and what I said in my previous post I'd like to retract. He's such an arrogant [censored] at times and it's really not flattering.
Oh and Vincent saying that Uli's mother was very European...
Yeah, that's because she's from Europe, smart one.
Laura's making yet another outfit for herself and it doesn't seem to be very exciting.
Angela just better stay away from the granny circles. Just because she's designing for an older woman does not give her cause to bring out those damned things again.

So far it seems that way, huh? Especially considering the previews...Angela does end up upset...
Anyway, I love the idea of this challenge. I'm super excited about it. And, the twist by making the designers choose a different model than their own relatives!

I have to say that I would laugh my ass off if Jeffrey was scolded by his own mother for his behavior. Now THAT would be great reality tv!! LOL

Oh how dare Heidi say that Allison's garment made her model look fat, then announce that they will be making garments for everyday women. I am outraged, that Allison was booted because she could not make a boxed shaped woman look other than a box. Not only did Heidi make a comment about someone being fat once, but twice. Bring Allison back and let her show them how to make clothing for plus sized women. The next project runway should have all plus sized models since Heidi thinks she can't turn into a can a grands biscuts.
I am heated. :-{

Arrogant isn't even the word for him....it is too good of a word to use for him. He is mean and ugly to an innocent participant. She was doing what she is supposed to do- be a client. If I was a client, I would be voicing my opinion and so did she.
He is a piece of <poop>.

I agree, Heidi came off as very sizist in the last episode. And what is with the jeans and black tops. That seems to be all she is wearing lately - is that "fashion forward"?

August 23, 2006 - 06:28 PM
but you know, i did like his point that maybe angela's mom was too insecure to try a new color that would make her look beautiful. he said, "maybe some people just don't see the beauty in them that other people see because of insecurities." (or something like that.) he was upset cause she didn't trust him, i think. and he was already frustrated with the challenge.
i'm not excusing how harsh he acted towards her, but it wasn't necessarily mean-spirited. (now that i think about it)

I can't believe this -- I've been willing to give Jeffrey the benefit of the doubt, despite his obvious contempt for everyone else, but this is absolutely a new low. I have absolutely NO respect for him at this point. The sooner he's booted off, the better. He could have explained why he went with the colors he selected, but no, he had to antagonize and insult Angela's mom. I realize he's under a lot of stress, but that's no excuse for treating a *client* that way. sheesh!

I really like this epi. We are really getting to know these designers and their backgrounds. Wow. I'm feeling for Jeff; I'm feeling for Angela. I never would have got that without the insight their moms provide.

But it is about her - she's the client. If a designer can't work with a client they aren't much of a designer. That is part of the challenge.

This was a set up from the beginning to create angst. Bring them in and then let them choose? Although I don't think Jeffrey is in the right, I think Angela's Mom starts out critising color choices, I don't hear the other Moms complaining.
