It was Angela (and her rosettes), who was flown all the way to Paris only to be sent back home the next day.

I just wanted to pop in to say that I am so impressed with Michael and his designs. I could watch a show completely devoted to him designing. Completely refreshing. I hope he keeps it up! And now I'm gone! Enjoy the show.
I believe Michael is very talented also. He seems to have covered all of the different designs without too much trouble. The only thing I question is he did not design for a plus size woman on that one episode. That might have been interesting to see what he did.
I would have LOVED to see him do something in plus size. He says he has a close relationship to his mother and I wouldn't be surprised if he could pull something fantastic off just to make her look devine. I really try to maintain an unbiased perspective when watching these shows, but I am so impressed by that man an admit that I have honestly embraced a full-on bias in favor of Michael. I will probably laugh at his bad jokes and makes excuses for him if he ever does anything bratty. During close contests between him and another contestant, I will probably think he should have won - but I promise to get over it quickly. *sigh* I promise not to have rose color glasses on if he ever creates something horrible, but I will pray that the judges give him a second chance and consider his body of work and let him stay to sew again. Hi, my name is Ms. Vee and I am a fan. *sigh* I will get help after the season ends.
So... with your rose colored glasses off... Did Michael really win the Recycle Challenge or should it have gone to Jeffrey ? I am definately a Michael fan not only of his fashion designs but he's got a great personality. He's insightful, confident and has a great wit.

Just grabbing on but Welcome newbies! I joined this board in season 3 PR but I just watched TC rerun and NOW I understand some of the references made during discussions.
I've got to say Harold was a good choice but I just loved Dave and would have loved to see him win!
As to Michael and Jeffrey debate, both are good designers. And at the finale, I would hope that the designer's personalities are not part of the judgement process. I would hope they will be judged on their creativity.

I think I see the point your trying to make but ones health vs ego is way different. I wasnt moved by Darlenes face. I was moved by the words Jeffrey spoke. I do believe she wasnt innocent but I in no way feel she threatened him. Upon learning Jeffrey did the ugliest dress possdile and gloated in front of Angela I felt Jeffreys true colors were shown. When Angela, who I didnt care for at all, took the bait Jeffrey dangled, he was cruel to her. He insulted her like a child and when she said she didnt hear it and could he repeat it he didnt have the brass to do it.
I do agree that we dont know if he was a jerk before using. I think Jeffrey has a massive chip on his shoulder and who knows, once its gone he might be a nice guy.
brillke
I'd like to add to your point that Jeffrey never gave direct eye contact to the person he was targeting at any particular moment. That is the behavior of a coward.
His punk-rocker outfit was so phony, it was laughable. Fake tough. Jeffrey designed his character and then wore it for all the world to see.

Discussion of personalities aside, IMO all the designers did a good job designing for themselves and their POV for this last challenge. I think it was a toss up between Michael, Jeffrey and Laura for their well executed designs and good choices of color and fabric. Angela was aufed for her choice of fabric. Her design was true to herself. It just arrived wrinkled and wasn't supposed to.

Depends on your criteria, is my view. Michael deserved to win not because his outfit was better than Jeffrey's, but because he had a 3-piece outfit out of 3 different materials that he chose based on their resemblance to fabrics he might have chosen for each piece. Michael's outfit was more complex, and his model did look very elegant.
I have to interject here that I was surprised with the judges' responses to Laura's dress. I thought it looked EXACTLY like what Laura herself was wearing, so what was so innovative about that? I think the judges should have called her on that.

Yeah, like Kermit says, "It ain't easy being green".
My dream is an earth-sheltered house. My brother and I will probably build one on our family land someday. Our father built a cabin on this land in the 70s that he and I designed. It was built completely with recycled materials, I think my dad bought some nails, but that was it.

I lived for many years in a solar powered earth shelter. It was my all time favorite home. The front wall was 25 feet of glass, all other walls were bermed. My total utility bills were under $100 a month (well, OK, I live in the South). They are unbelieveably efficient, though. And very quiet and peaceful.

Lucky you, Carole. The Texas State Capital Annex is completely underground. It's located just north of the old building and has a wonderful domed skylight in the main hallway that connects the two buildings. It creates a rotunda-like feeling, and mimics the rotunda in the original building. I love the efficiency and noise-reduction of earth sheltered buildings. When Top Chef was on I found a great number of the posts to be incredibly rude and presumptuous. I finally quit posting about four weeks before the end of the show because I just couldn't tolerate it any more. I had had enough. I didn't stop watching and I certainly didn't threaten to stop watching because I had no intention of doing that but I did give up on the board because, well, what was the point?
By the way, my favorite was Miguel and I can't even begin to list the abuse he got on these boards. I can take a discussion but what was written about him was beyond the pale.
I guess what I'm saying is I'm at that point now and, while I will watch the rest of the show because I love it, I will not be a regular poster on this board. I'm just tired and bored with it all. Have fun, youse guys. Rip each other and the contestants apart but I'm just not feeling that I'm driven to the point where many of youse are.
Have fun. I'm expecting people over and we're grilling real cheesburgers and watching DVD's. It'll certainly be more fun than I've had here for the last week.
Really sorry to see you go dcjewbear. I hope your cookout didn't get rained on like ours. I appreciated your frank posts even though I live a very quiet life and avoid sports whenever possible. I bring food and watch my portable dvd of Moulin Rouge and his friends accept that.

Just outside of Atlanta in a little suburb called Lithia Springs. It is on 3 acres, but surrounded by people who own many more acres so it was totally private. It was designed by an artist. I had to sell it when I decided to marry, my husband was completely unsympathetic to the design. I sold it to a photographer, the light in it is amazing. I have always wanted to visit Austin, now when I go there I will be sure to look at that building.

Sounds like a very nice space. Most visitors have no idea about the Capital annex, it's been years since I took an "official" tour of the building, so I don't know if they mention it. I've been there (the annex) to deliver flowers to workers in the state offices, I also have a friend that worked there several years ago, pre-9/11. All you see of this building from the outside is the domed skylight sticking up out of the ground in the middle of a plaza made of granite blocks. I'm not sure if you can take a tour of the annex, I miss the old days when you could go hang out in the Capital building pretty much whenever you wanted. When my first husband and I started dating, we would meet at the Capital for dates. We got to know one of the security officers and would listen to him tell tall tales into the night. It sure was a different time back then. You ought to visit Austin if you get the chance, there's alot going on here. Weather-wise, the best times to visit are March and October, IMO. We don't have as cold of a winter as Atlanta, it only froze here a couple of times last year.

I just feel that you are seeing Jeffrey through the haze of your own pain.
Yes, people who have dealt with drug addicted family members do have insights. But just like the mugging victim can be the least reliable witness of a group, sometimes being too damaged by a situation can make you extrapolate to an unfair degree.
You have every right to unburden yourself; I have done the same thing on other boards about religion. But I know deep inside that I am only venting.
I can see myself acting much like Jeffrey to Darlene under those circumstances, and I have never been addicted to any drug.
notevayas
I think that is a fair assessment of Jeffrey. I'm baffled how anyone could condone his behavior. I don't mean any disrespect, but would you really react to her like he did. He is a designer. That is his job. She was a client. I mean, if I went to him for an outfit or suit and he acted like that to me. He'd never get my business again and I'd do everything I could to stop anyone I know from going to him.
I just don't see anyone liking him (at least from the show and that's all I have to go on). I can see people who might identify with him in some respects, but I don't know many people who identify with rudeness.
I don't condone his behaviour. I don't identify with rudeness. I just see the situation a bit differently. You see it as a client/designer situation. I see it as a contest rival and her mother attempting to interfere with his chances to progress to the next challenge. I think that Jeffrey got the clue early on when Darlene told him, "I think I might cry." That was a threat, and Jeffrey refused to be dragged into her drama.
My post was not about the design challenge. I stated my opinion that it is possible to be too close to a situation emotionally to see it clearly.
For example:
I don't believe Jeff's history with addiction has anything to do with how he treated Darlene. He saw a threat to his chances to win, and put out the signal to mother and daughter and everyone that he wasn't buying their act. It doesn't seem like the other designers were buying it either.
notevayas
We won't see eye to eye on this one. It's cool. I've been with people who said they thought they might cry and I didn't see it as a ploy or strategy. I might have more empathy that you. I don't know. I don't like the man and I find him rude in any circumstance and I totally agree with Madrigal re: Jeffrey. The sooner he's off the better it will be.

Just for conversation, as an example...
You take your elderly mother-in-law out to lunch at the nicest restaurant in your town square. She is diabetic, on insulin, yet sneaks many packs of sugar into her tea. You catch her and move the teacup out of reach. She raises her voice and says that she is not a child. Her voice catches, and she tells you that she is going to cry.
Do you slide the teacup back over or do you hold your ground knowing that if her health fails it will be you that pays the Dr. and takes the blame?
Wait, could you be clouding the situation also. This sounds like experience. I'm not trying to slam you. I just happen to read this. Hey, we all disagree and I guess that's the beauty of society. Even if you're wrong. LOL Ha Ha.

She threatened Jeffrey? I so dont see that at all. Are you talking about when they were discussing with the designers what they would like? When she asked for the jacket? If so, she told him she felt bad. She said she felt she was limiting him in the challenge. How was that a threat?
If Ive misunderstood, my bad.
brillke
She threatened his standing in the competition, yes. Woman asks for a plus size jacket ensemble in 10 hours. Jeffery knows he can't deliver and tells her so. She threatens to cry.
Mother crying on national teevee..
You are lucky if women have never used tears, or threatened tears, to get you to go against your better judgement. They make jokes about it on teevee such as with the mother on "Everyone Loves Raymond", but the reality of it is far less pleasant. Imagine being halfway through a major competition and having a rival's mother pull that garbage. And if you believe the names were pulled randomly, you don't know the history of that little bag.. Even the model eliminations were rigged in my opinion, with Jeffrey's model one of the two eliminated.
It is a setback having to adjust to another model's measurements; all this loyalty to one model isn't from sentimentality. The constant mixing of models is geared to add to the stress,
Do you honestly think that Bravo chose competitors relatives and gave them 10 hours to get the best designs out of them, on this, the first challenge where some designers had plus size models. Bravo disrespected the mothers by putting them "on the spot" to model. Bravo disrespected all plus size women by not encouraging good design, but cheap drama. No wonder they put the focus on Jeffrey. Robert Best listened to Vincent's sister and caved in to her refusal to bend, and he was auffed for his trouble. I think Jeffrey played this situation right for the competition.
No, I don't like everything that comes out of Jeffrey's mouth and he is not one of my favorites. But to state again, my post was about people who have been negatively affected by drug addiction blaming Jeffrey's actions on his past addiction. I think it is misguided, though understandably so.
I went through Season 2 being accused of supporting everything that Santino said because he was my favorite designer. Santino said (to Nick) "You can't polish a turd." He was joking and yet trying to faze his competition at the same time. Nick fell for it hook, line and sinker and look what happened to him. As the competition heats up, look for more barbs from Jeffrey. Just don't blame me, OK?
notevayas
The whole show is RIGGED. But, it's still fun to watch. I Never believed Jeffrey got Darlene by coincidence and I never beleive that anything that comes out of that bag is random. It's kind of like the Hat that Cat Pulls from in So You Think YOu Can Dance.

No, they didn't, not in the way I meant. They should have told her that they wanted to see something different, like they told Uli in the jet=setter outfit competition. They told Uli that they have seen her in that dress already, several times, and that they wanted something different from/for her. They were in total, unanimous approval of Laura's [expletive deleted]-hum recycled=material dress, and MK even went so far as to gush over her flower trim. Not one judge mentioned that the model's dress was exactly like what Laura was wearing.

Alas... we knew you well
Thank you Angela for introducing the flourchamps/rosettes to us.
Thank you for using them to death on every challenge (except Recycle Challenge). If you could have thought of a flower like Laura did for her dress, I know you would have done it.
I am so looking forward to the rest of P/R without seeing a garment without rosettes.
Good Lord Angela... how did you get a whole Bravo P/R nation to be so turned off by this flower/mushroomy looking fungi. Geezzz it was everywhere.
I can only hope that another designer will not do homage to Angela and stick some rosettes on a garment.
R.I.P. Flourchamps/rosettes we are glad to see you go.

Wonder of all wonders, Angela has been asked by Catherine Malandrino to help her with fashion week!
There's an interview with Angela on Blogging Project Runway:
http://bloggingprojectrunway.blogspot.com/
"BPR: What is your favorite item in your wardrobe and why?
AK: My Balenciaga black leather motorcycle jacket from the fall 2005 collection. I cried every time I looked at it for the first week. It is the most amazing jacket ever made."
What???? She is a freak.

[. You ought to visit Austin if you get the chance, there's alot going on here. Weather-wise, the best times to visit are March and October, IMO. We don't have as cold of a winter as Atlanta, it only froze here a couple of times last year.

I have always heard that Austin is the prettiest of Texas cities. So far my favorite has always been San Antonio. Since I grew up on the eastern border of New Mexico, the only part of Texas I really saw a lot of is west Texas (my sister lives in Lubbock), so have not really thought Texas is as pretty as Georgia (love green, green, green). My all time favorite state for being pretty is a tie between Virginia and Tennessee. I would love for the other posters to defend their states!

I still think some people are confusing what Laura wears herself all the time with what she sends down the runway. Her runway looks have all been varied.

Hear Tim Gunn's podcast and pay attention to an answer to an interview question from one of Angela's exit interviews on bloggingprojectrunway for the real reason we see designers in a state of undress sometimes in the workroom. Angela says the NYC Parsons workroom temp was sometimes close to or over 100 degrees because running the a/c noise would prevent the designers being heard by the filming crew. Tim says Parsons Paris workroom was about 110-120(possibly for the same reason).
We don't know who will be off in the next episode. One of the previews on BPR hints that Michael is having big problems, but his dress looked okay to me. The guys are making fun of Laura's big collar, but it might work. Jeffrey's dress is all about the big yellow plaid, but he has immunity so he shouldn't worry. Everyone worries about Kayne, but not enough of the dress is done to tell us anything. Vincent, from the screencaps on BPR seems to have done something blueish and Laura plunging neckline with a variation of the collar he did for the Everyday Woman, but scaled way smaller. Uli is doing something in black, so maybe she is channeling Chanel's "little black dress"(FYI: Chanel's "little black dress" was actually an evolution of the all-best and mourning good dress most French women had as best+Mass gown, the plain black dresses worn by many convent-schooled charity girls, and the required black dress worn by most Parisian shop-girls).
Is Michael in trouble on this challenge, or are most of the designers?(Heidi's "no, no, no" on the runway and Jeffrey's "buy" comment point to an al-fresco fashion show where Parisian viewers vote on whether they would buy a dress or not.). Jeffrey is the only one who is safe with immunity which might explain that risky yellow plaid.
At this point in the competition, everyone is naturally critiquing, mostly negatively, everyone else's designs since it is getting down to the wire. Figure in that everyone is short on sleep and in a strange venue and it is a wonder that anyone is remotely sane

My 2 cents do not mean a thing except to me--so here goes.
I have watched and liked this show from day one but now I have to wonder why this show as well as other reality shows feel the need to be mean.
Is this about fashion? I dont think so--not any longer. The producers who edit for effect are going for the nasty and cruel.
Fly someone to France to kick them off? Jeff gets a pass after the worst dress in PR history and then this weeks "rock' N' Roll" outfit IMO was the worst.
But making Jeff the "most hated" is what the show wants and I for one am done.
As for Past addiction--well he was drinking on the plane --so i dont place much stock in "past".
Regardless--it is the whole thing of the show going for a tone of meaness.
The judges are no better--"jet setters" is subjective--i have seen so called jet setters in warm ups and kains may have looked like Elvis but last I heard he was a jet setter too.
Bottom line--the show allowing jeffs disrespect for what amounted to his client was over the top.
This is all so predictable--Jeff will remain until the end so they can continue the whole nasty scenario and its to bad cause my granddaughters love this show but can no longer watch it.
My question, if I could ask TPTB, why take a good show and turn it into trash TV?
Bye PR

Not sure what you are comparing Austin to but it is the trash dump of the state. Nothing pretty about it, horrible roads and traffic, and it is dirty.
There are so many attractivie cities in Texas, but Austin never has been or ever will be pretty lol.

I can see myself acting much like Jeffrey to Darlene under those circumstances, and I have never been addicted to any drug.
notevayas
Much as many of us don't like Jeffrey's attitude, especially during the last two episodes, by this point in the game, all the designers are overworked, short of sleep and are reacting in different ways.
Anyone who wants to be a designer or aspires to make their living in the creative/artistic world has to have huge confidence and ego to be sucessful. Most "designers"design only for a certain physical type of clientele and their clients come to them, so Darlene was 180 degrees opposite of what Jeffrey designs for.
Jeffrey will probably be in the final three as there is always someone controversial in the mix, just as there is in real life.
Michael, regardless of what happens, will have job offers aplenty, and may end up more successful than any winner of PR. I can even see him as Tim Gunn's eventual sucessor at Parsons. He has the personal and people skills, as well as the ability to learn and change in his chosen field to be a success.
Laura will also be a success. If fashion doesn't work out, being an architect may well. And don't criticize her for having many children and having the money for child-care help too. We live in a society that has quickly changed where each child isn't just another future wage-earner after age 10 or 12, if each survives to that age. A child is even more of an enormous responsibility on all levels. To view people as more or less selfish as to the number of children they have or don't have is a totally different and more complicated issue than it was even just 50 years ago. We presently tend to judge both people that have no children and those that have "too many" to support according to the social norm of an industrialized society as equally selfish. Have none when you have the economic means to do so and society views you as wanting it all for yourself and not producing future taxpayers to support you in your old age. Have "too many" and you get criticized for needing taxpayer help to raise these children"properly."

Really? I never thought of my decision not to have kids as a tax issue. I think it is a responsible choice that I have made. And it isn't just having too many children that can be a tax burden. One of my employees had her child at age 17 and since she couldn't fully support herself and her child, she was on state assistance for several years - now that's a tax burden.
However, I do not think the decision to have (or not have) children should be based on taxes...A friend of mine, Bill, is 49 years old. Three years ago his stepson got his girlfriend pregnant. Now Bill & his wife are raising this grandchild b/c the stepson & his girlfriend could not. Last year, his stepson got his girlfriend pregnant again ; this time, however, they tried to raise the baby themselves -- the child is now in the care of Bill and his wife b/c the baby was shaken so hard that she is partially blind and may be fully blind as time goes on and the damage is assessed.
Being a parent is an enormous responsibility -- I truly feel that the only people who should have children (whether 1 or 5 or 12 of them) are people that truly desire children and have the means to care for them and nuture them to becoming responsible adults. If you don't want children, don't have them! If you can't take care of them, don't have them! Having a child just to add another tax payer into the world is a ridiculous thought!!

I agree! She's made an entire variety of clothes:
fur trimmed coat, elegant long evening gown, short skirt w/ jacket, pants and blouse, long skirt and blouse, short dress, wrap-around jersey dress...
Has anyone else made such a variety of clothes??? Vincent had to use his own pants to make a pattern for goodness sake! We haven't seen Laura pull the clothes off of her back to make a pattern!! Not to mention Uli -- dress after dress after dress which is something she already knew how to make before PR and is her signature look!! I think Michael is the only one who comes close as far as the variety of garments he has made.

I don't think she was saying that she believed that. I think she was saying that it doesn't matter what you choose people are going to jump on you for reasons of their own making...because it's in human nature to critisize...

Well, I'm not saying it is she in particular but society if that's what people really feel. I don't think babies should be looked at like future tax payers. And my point was that it doesn't matter if you have only one or ten -- either way could be a tax burden. It's not that people have too many and then become a tax burden -- that's possible, of course...but it's just as possible for someone to have just one and become a tax burden. It's not how many you have, it's whether you can take care of them or not!
And those of us not having babies could be taking the more responsible route - sure, we're not birthing another tax payer, but what if those of us who don't want children have them just to add to the taxable population?? I am not motherly; children annoy me (sorry - I love my 7 year old twin niece & nephew but am glad at the end of the day when they go home to their parents!). I think it would be highly irresponsible of me if I were to have a child at this point.

I live in Arlington which is right between Dallas and Ft Worth.
Of all the places in Tx that I have been I would say Ft Worth is the best place to live. Tourist city would be San Anotinio since they are really geared to that.
If you ever want to go to a really beautiful, historic city I do think Charleston, SC is the best. I have gone there many times and always find something new to discover. Tons of plantations to take tours of, the market downtown, Rainbow row, horse carriage rides through the historic part of the city, wonderful places to eat, and of course there are beaches.
