I have not recorded any of the shows, so I am not able to go back and check this detail out. I am quite observant and I am sure I have spotted it correctly, but I need to check it out, just to make sure.
Someone who has recorded the shows may be able to confirm it for me.
In the reunion show, Carson has a "something" in his ear. No, not ear-jewellery - something acually in his ear.
Is this a cue-ing device 'twixt him and the floor-manager or.......is it a tiny hearing-aid?
what part of the show do you see the thing in Carson's ear? i have it on tape and can try and look for it

Sorry.....I can't be exactly specific with the "where" in the screening.
Carson is on the left of the screen with his right ear to the camera. It is a closeup and a "sofa" shot.
The mysterious "it" looks like a tiny, flesh-coloured, inner-ear device....or he has a very strange ear structure.........or my 20/20 was a little woozeley-boozely on Christmas cheer and I am seeing things that aren't there.
If you are prepared to have a look at the tape.........thanks, wooohoo!

Last night I saw the Holiday Reunion show and I re-watched the Adam Zalta segment, aghast, where Carson rushes into the house and positively screeches "Mover over bacon , here's something leaner!......"
Yes, well that is something you yell at a Jew.
Adam Zalta kept a kosher kitchen and the reference to "bacon" was kinda.....like fingernails down a blackboard.
Gauche? I wonder if he paused to reflect on what he had said at a later date and went.........omigod! D'uuuuuh!!!
I have heard no backwash from this remark.

I'm not sure why Kyan thinks he's butch. He's hot and dresses extremely well...maybe it's becuase he puts in some good hours at the gym to keep up that muscular body of his. Perhaps he considers that to be a little butch. Who knows.

I'm kinda suprised Butch showed up with out a date as well. I can't tell you how shocked I was when they made him over! He was totally cute. I would've avoided this man on the street before and NOW....I'm speechless. His hair cut was fantastic!!! I don't much like the whole chin hair only look now though (I suck at spelling this late at night, so we'll just call it "chin hair"). Bring back the "upper lip hair" Butch. 3 am Iowa time, so it's like 1995 (we appear to be behind in almost everything) at 3 am and I'm tired. Someone needs to further convince me to move out to New York!!! Come on people...give up the goods and tell me about it!!!!!

I'm gonna make a couple predictions about what may have happened to the other guys that didn't make it kay....1) their apartments are messes from HELL, 2) their girlfriends dumped em'(now that would be a shame, but it may have happened to one or two of the straight guys),3)they are now covered, much like an ape, in body hair, 4) the missions that were given to them lasted all about one evening, 5)that really cheap guy sold everything to make a buck (DAMN YOU!!! just kidding...or am I?), 6)maybe they lost their places to live or just plain moved (Thom didn't work his magic for you guys to just up and bail!!!!),7)they weren't really looking to change, but just wanted 15 minutes of fame and a new wardrobe (it pains me too much to comment on this one, scuse me while I cry......ok I'm good), 8)if #7 is true, then you guys need to get off your dead #@$es (I'm too damn lady-like to swear), 9)maybe the confidence faded (now that's a really sad thought), 10)Just for you Ted... maybe their cooking was so bad and the contents of their fridges were so expired that the gave themselves food poisoning or something along those lines (should've listened to Ted fellas!!!) Maybe, just maybe one of these things happened to the other boys. You never know.

Perhaps he isn't as much of a queen of mean as I am, in noticing his gaffe and mentioning it - but evenso, I am sure it was noticed, somewhere by someone observant.

Very good predictions Deb and entirely possible! I want to talk about prediction number 6, lost or moved from the apartment. I've heard that rent in NYC is outrageously high even for a tiny cubicle of a space. Thom comes in and makes these little holes-in-the-walls look Fabtastic! I'm wondering if, after Thom is done, the friggin' landlords come in with a new lease or eviction notice to now rent the apartment for more money. I hope there is some kind of contract that Bravo signs between tenant and landlord that forbids the landlord from raising the rent for a certain amount of time (and then for only so much) after Thom works his magic.

See, I would be in serious trouble and you'd know it because you would see my police mug shot on the cover of Time with the caption "Terrible TTB Traumatizes Tots, Takes Thom Toys"
"In Buffalo, NY, 38 year old ThomsTeddyBear - who insists that is her real name - was arrested today for grand theft. She entered her local Toys R Us store and immediately emptied the shelves of all the Thom Filicia action figures. Cashiers became concerned when Ms. TeddyBear snatched one of the figures out of the hand of a nearby 2 year old. They then chased Ms. TeddyBear around the store to try to make her give up the supply of Filicia dolls she had confiscated. Ms. TeddyBear was heard by several witnesses crying "DEATH FIRST" as she bolted out the exit still carrying the Filicia dolls. She was deftly tackled by the changing shift security guard and placed in the back of a police car."

Wasn't "move over bacon, there's something leaner" a slogan from some commercial? SizzleLean, I think it was, that bacon-sausage-like breakfast meat product? I always took it like that, like it just popped into Carson's head from the depths of his pop culture trivia knowledge. I've heard the other guys all do stuff like that often, too, pulling seemingly-random references out that are really more like inside jokes. It's sort of along the lines of when they say "I LOVE it," a la the joyologist character from SNL, that kind of thing.
Speaking of which, if anyone can tell me where Thom got "murry cri'muss, ev'rybudy," the way he said it in the holiday episode at the end, I'll love you forever. I know he got that from somewhere, something that's familiar to me, but I can't quite place it and it's driving me nuts.

This sounds fun in theory, but have you ever noticed how figurines always look "not quite right"? When you look at at them, their faces are creepy and inaccurate?
I recently saw a Buffy the Vampire Slayer doll that looked absolutely hideous. Sarah Michelle Gellars nose does not translate well to rubber. And nothing can ever erase the indelible memory of the "Donna" doll from the Beverly Hills 90210 collection.
I would be mortified to see Thoms beautiful face immortalized into dollhood with his likeness on some rubber head with a huge lecherous permagrin.

I'm gonna make a couple predictions about what may have happened to the other guys that didn't make it kay....
I have still to see two or three of the episodes of Series One, but I will have go with a prediction.
Tomorrow night the episode with George K airs, so I can kinda say that now I have seen all the guests who appeared for the reunion show. I have an outline from the promo's what George is about.
And this is where I go giggly ga-ga over a straight guy - Aaiiiy!, is that blond Greek look a totally HOT one....a little too much muscle for me......but he looked fab with his new hairdo. He has the sweetest, sweetest, sweetest smile. Hmmm, I would volunteer to have George bench-press me up and down. Up and down. Up and down.......
Blond Greeks...........Wow! Throw a bucket of ouzo over me and wrap me in vine leaves!
So, there were four guests. A single; an almost-dating-again; a nearly-hitched and a married guy. None of them were weird little trolls anymore and they had scrubbed up really well.
The show isn't terribly long and with Jai doing the MC'ing, they had one made-over guy each to showcase. Sometimes on reality shows there is a little "before/after" snapshot of a participant that gives an explanation, to let you know what has happened in the intervening period, "So and so declined to appear; reverted to a unibrow troglodyte and put on 40lbs; gone, left no forwarding address, etc).
I wonder how many episodes were in the can before they unearthed first make-better guy whose principal interest was in the freebies...."okay, and whatever - so, where's my stuff....."
I am sure that this is what motivates some people to audition....am I thinking Alan C here?

Definitely - QE dolls would be soooo fanglamorous and fabtastic, but only if they were like dead-on accurate, which such dolls hardly ever are. Anyone remember the Spice Girls dolls? And the most recent Cher doll?

Yup, Southerfan is right...it's an Elvis Presley original. Johnny Bravo uses an Elvis-like voice in the cartoon - maybe you've heard it in the xmas special.

My guess is, well, Butch is clearly looking good and should have no problem getting female companionship...I think he may have a few women he is seeing, and to just bring one would be like picking favorites. I read somewhere that his art/photography website was posted somewhere and he is getting so many emails from women...I am sure he his keeping busy!

I just saw a rerun of Adam's makeover and actually forgot just how bad this guy really was. My god!!! He was HORRIBLE!!! So now I have to change what I previously said about what the biggest shocker was for me during this holiday episode. Adam came a LONG way and maintained everything but that one bathroom in his house pretty much. I am very happy he was able to improve so much and hope he continues to do an amazing job at it.

This reminds me of the Cabbage Patch doll craze back in the 1980s, I can just picture TTB and the rest of the Freak Fans going wild over the Thom dolls! The Jai dolls would be hot sellers too!!!
I can picture Carson doll(in equestrian outfit, since he is an avid equestrian!) with his poseable horse!
Ted would have a mini-kitchen that makes all different 'cooking' sounds! (batteries not included)
Regarding the holiday special I watched it a few times during the marathon. I have to admit I am so impressed with the four straight guys, especially Adam on how they kept up the regimen that the Fab Five gave them. Adam looked terrific! Butch, John and George were adorable! I really got a big kick out of Butch's "Product Parade"!

lol - you didn't really miss anything, it wasn't meant in a sexual way. Carson was demonstating how quick a kiss it was between I-forget-who and their girlfriend/wife on one of the episodes. It was the way someone would kiss their grandmother on the cheek.

Hi everybody! I'm new to the boards, but I've become accustomed to staying up every Tuesday night to watch the new Queer Eye episode. (My dad got my mom and I tickets to see "The Minds Behind the Queer Eye" Times Talk presentation last month, and we were even able to get Carson's autograph!)
I loved the "Holiday Reunion" episode, it was great to see how the first guys kept up their regime, and I almost cried when John asked the Fab Five to be his best men. George's hair looked awesome, and he seems really happy with his new g/f. Butch took his experience to heart, and he even bought face and hair-care products! I was a little worried about Adam, but it turns out he was the best of all of them! I burst out laughing when Thom opened the shower door and all that crap fell out!
"It's just birthday presents for people... nothing that we use..."
"And this would be the obvious location for it?!?!"
That was priceless.
