Some of us (like me!) got a bit impatient and started posting about this episode on another thread which makes some of what I'm about to say repetitive. My bad.

I lost my husband, Tom, in a motorcycle accident and seeing Jim trying to come out from under that cloud of grief touched my heart. Out of kindness and love, your friends and family want you to move on but for me, it felt like I didn't want time to go by because I didn't want to get too far away from the last moment I heard Tom's voice or the the last time I saw his face. It didn't feel like time was healing, it felt like time was separating me from the days when Tom was alive and lying next to me when I'd wake up in the morning. No one can dictate or judge someone else's time frame for mourning. It looks to me like Jim is bravely taking the steps he needs to in order to set an example for his children and return to "walking in the sunshine". Bless your heart, Jim. And if you ever find yourself in southern California, there's a Margarita with your name on it. (This is my awkward attempt at flirting....some of the old timers on this board may be familiar with my notorious past of hitting on the SG's........and Thom, of course! )

Better late than never with the thread, I guess!

I don't know how you get over losing someone you love. Saying it felt like time was just separating you even more makes perfect sense, too. It did look like Jim was taking steps in the right direction, but I was really glad nobody was insinuating that it was time to get over it and move on. It wasn't at all like they were trying to actively get him to start dating again. Just get out and be around other people.

I have to say, though, those were the cutest kids ever!

I agree with you, raindog. The guys were very gentle with Jim and seemed to understand that there's no agenda for moving on. The bad news is that you never get over losing someone you love, the good news is that you never get over losing someone you love.....but eventually you become thankful for every day you had together.

Hi Tomosulo and Raindog...it's been a while, hope you are all doing well.
Jim's episode was very touching and I'm glad to see he has a great support group.
Tomasula you have a great way of expressing your feelings, maybe I feel that way because some of them hit home with me, I still miss my wife and I know I always will. I have made a lot of new friends since the show and still think about all of you wonderful people I have met on this forum.

Jim, I wish you and your family a great life.

God Bless You
John K.

John K.: Wow!!! I was SO excited to see your post! Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot coming from you. I'm going to have to dig through my old tapes and watch your episode again. It has always been one of my favorites.

John, do you have any idea when Bravo will be airing the reunion episode? I haven't seen any promos for it yet. It's a real dry spell for QE reruns and I can't wait to see all my favorite SG's again. Thank you for posting. It's the boost so many of us old timers needed.

(I just stopped to kill a Black Widow in the corner near my computer desk. I usually relocate spiders by giving them a quick trip outside, but the Black Widows scare me in spite of the fact that we have them in abundance out here in the sticks. It's especially scary because my dogs will snuffle around anything they find interesting and I don't want them to get bitten.....stung(?).......whatever.)

I hope to see another post from you soon. Hope you are in good health. You "sound" wonderful!

Hi Tomosula....great to hear from you too.
QE has been on Hiatus for at least a few weeks now but as soon as they return, I'll try to find out when they will air the reunion episode.
Talk to you soon...take care.

I really appreciate that, John. And if you happen to be in touch with Thom or Ted, please say "Hi" for me.

Why, hi John!! It's so nice to hear from you again! I thought about you while watching this episode. You sound like you're doing well - I'm really looking forward to the reunion also.

EEEEKKKKK!!! My niece was bitten by a black widow, and it made her really sick - and took a long time to get over. And it was in their livingroom. I am spider-phobic to a ridiculous degree, so if there's nobody around to dispose of spiders for me I just end up evacuating. It's very sad. I'm not a bit bothered by any other creature - including snakes - but spiders just give me severe creeps.
