How many times do you work out at your local gym?? I try and do 3 days a week.(I have a cross-traininglike machine at home) I look at my Thommy wall calendar photo(w/ his spiky hair cute-so cute smiley boy) and listen to my cds. I like Sade's "Kiss of Life" Kylie M.'s "Body Language" album...Mariah C.'s "Honey, Underneath the Stars, Always Be My Baby, Dreamlover..."(songs 4 Thommy)

On average, 7 days a week - but my gym is pretty big. I'm on the Moms Dayum-I-Still-Ain't-Got-No-Time exercise plan. (snipped very funny stuff)

OK, now you owe me a new keyboard because I spat out my Diet Coke while reading about your exercise program. Funny as heck!

Thommy's spiky hair photos from the calendar are sooo cute. Have you bought a copy of 2005 boxed-set calendar. If not, strongly consider it. Cute Thommy photos. I found my copy, surprisingly at my local Barnes-N-Nobles bookstore.
BTW-he is in a photo from People "espanol" Nov. '04 issue page 113

Is it just me...am I the only Thom fan who wishes Thommy would appear in a magazine. Big time coverage-lots more than Entrepreneur magazine. I wish the photos for this mag. were NOT small.
It is like a track race, with Carson and Ky. Their books....1 in a magazine(short time after)...
I hope Thommy writes a design book, rather than show his superior qlty. design creations in various mags.

If Thommy came to redecorate my bedrooom, I wonder if he'd make me get rid of all my Hello Kitty stuff??

BTW-did any Thom fan see the previous magazine article & photo(s)I can't recall the exact title of the mag.) It was a design magazine. I think it was called Traditional Homes...or some title like that???

As much as I would like to see Hillary run and yes, I think she would be a very good president, she doesn't have a chance. Republicans really villify her and portray her as an evil liberal. There are many people, men and women, who feel some how threatened by her {{shrug}}.

I think the next shining star for the Democratic party will be Barack Obama, newly elected senator from Illinois. I love listening to him talk. He is so articulate and thoughtful when he speaks. He seems sincerly interested in finding a common ground between Democrats and Republicans that will work for the good of the country. But it will be some time before he can really give the run for the White House. I think probably in 2012 or 2016 will be seeing "Obama for President" signs.

Anyone know where BFOJ is? I need my other Devil Angel!! <pout> Maybe this'll get her here...

JG: You know, Jai, I think we should go on an island getaway. Maybe take a trip to the Australian islands or maybe the Florida Keys. *she starts to get a dreamy look in her eyes* We could rent a house on the beach, take Nemo and Dory with us, and take swims in the ocean with the dolphins. The house would be beautiful, surrounded by palm trees and hibiscus flowers. The interior impeccably designed with some pieces by Thom himself, complete with a waterbed and incredibly comfortable chairs and loveseat facing the window. The view would be divine, a sandy beach and a secluded bay of ocean reserved just for us. What do you think?
Jai: I think that would be great! When should we go? After I get back from London?
JG: That would be nice. We could go and you could take a break from work and your fans (like BFOJ, wherever she is). *she turned around and gave Jai a hug* I'll get Christian working on it and we'll go in January so we can get away from the winter cold.

It starts at 6 in the morning with running...running to iron clothes, running to wake child, running to watch weather, running after demon kitty who has plastic in her mouth...again, running out the door to take child to bus, running back home, running to catch bus or if I have no bus fare I walk to work, running at work (sometimes literally) running to pay bills, running to grocery store. This week we'll add running to Cleveland and running to child's Parent/Teacher conference. Average running per day - over 3 miles.

Bending exercises - bend to pick up socks, bend to pick up papers, bend to put things away, bend to bring things out, bend to pick up laundry, bend to pick up cat, bend to pick up items satan cat has knocked off of mantle, desk, computer desk.

Then there's the finger exercises - computer at work, computer at home, and braids (2-? days to take out, 2-3 days to put in).

Pretty heavy cardio, you'd think I'd be in prime shape. You know Vanessa Williams? Well I look nothing like her

Thom: Probably half- or part-Italian, because he wore an 'everyone loves an Italian' T shirt on his birthday and I can't see someone not of Italian heritage wearing that, but his brother looks nothing like him (blond and blue-eyed) and doesn't look Italian at all, so there's probably something else, maybe Northern European, there too.

Although my late husband had dark wavy hair (like Thom) he had an aunt and several cousins that had blond hair and blue eyes. His family is northern Italian and fair coloring is quite common in that region. There really isn't any such thing as "looking Italian". That's an ethnic stereotype that depends on geography. Filicia is an Italian name and I know there are Italians in Syracuse, New York (Thom's home town) because I have many relatives there (Hi, Tomasulo's and LaTessa's!)

Thank you, Note - that was very sweet! Gives me another perspective to see myself in

The subject heading is "guilty pleasure" - I can't count my husband Thom as being a guilty pleasure because he harms no one in any way and you can't get too much of him. Thom is just pure pleasure.

However...IT'S SNOWING!!!!

It's snowing it's snowing it's snowing it's snowing!! Yup, my guilty pleasure is snow - I love it! It's so beautiful! When we get our first flakes, the people at the office tell me and I go running to the windows - it makes me feel so young! Lake effect they called for - well lake effect usually brings in alot of heavy flakes but we're just getting a light fall of heavy flakes. I've been outside catching them in my hand and on my tongue. They're falling so slowly - through the sunshine - from blue skies...I love snow

I can't take credit for this question that I'm about to ask you. That would have to go to Merlaezn, she's the one who thought it up.

She suggested imagining the Fab 5 had just invaded your house. What would they approve of? Disapprove of? Take us on a tour throughout your house and tell us what you think would be going through Carson's mind when he looks at your wardrobe, Thom's when he walks into your house, Kyan's when he walks into your bathroom, Ted's when he goes through your fridge, and Jai's when he goes throughout your house, finding out what you like.

I liked it so much I thought I should share it with you guys. I'll start:

The guys have just busted through my door, Thom looks around in bewilderment, Carson runs to my closet and screams, Kyan walks down the hall to the bathroom and shakes his head, Ted looks at my fridge and cries, Jai looks around and says "We have a lot of work to do."
I will admit that I need more color in my room, its very blah. There are neutral colors all over the place. I think he would like the palm trees I have, while he would think my picture frames and snowglobe collection are immature for my age. Most of the frames are hand-made so he may approve of that (or either throw them away) and I only brought 7 globes with me (I have 30+). He would probably also say that my collage of birthday cards is childish and he may question my age when he sees my soccer ball/pig bank that I hold my laundry money in and the shadow lamp I bought for Halloween.
Carson I think would like my wardrobe, just be afraid of it because its so disorganized. I have to say that I think he would approve of a shirt I just bought (in celebration of the Phone Call), its bright red with a picture of the Statue of Liberty in bright blue glitter and says "I (statue of liberty) New York" I have a lot of different things so I think he would approve of that. My shoes though could be worked on... *gasp!* I know.
My bathroom is shared with about 30 other girls so its never really clean. Sure, we have someone who comes and cleans it everyday, but its still not clean. I don't like it. I could also use some help in the skin care department, I have the stuff from the supermarkets that costs like four bucks.
Now for Ted. This is where I run and hide...since I usually eat in the cafeteria, I have mainly carbs in my room. I love rice and pasta! I think he would wonder about the cranberry and lime juice in my fridge, but would approve of the 50 recipes for non-alcoholic high quality drinks.
Jai's turn! Yay! Since I'm a college student he would probably give me some pointers to succeed in college and show me some places around here where I can go to have some fun. Then he might take me to a Mariners Game where we can go and cheer for the team while sharing a bucket of popcorn and a soda.

Okay, time to share your thoughts!

I'm calling on the well read, intellegent people of this board and if any happen to be from Europe, even better.

I've been hearing the term "Old Europe" a lot lately. Can you educate me on this term? I've Googled the term but can't come up with a definition. Did the term come out of the dissent over the EU? Has the phrase been around a long time but I've just had my head in the sand?

OK, I'll play.

While I don't think Thom would scream, "It's harrible!", he would probably gasp a few times. You see, I live in an apartment with "insane asylum white" walls and "apartment dweller brown" carpet. And, I CANNOT change it because I'm renting! So, color has been creeping in from the furnishings, but it really does need work and definitely needs cleaning! Also, I like subtle color, so he might want me to be bolder. And, if you note my 'location' you'll see that I'm a horrible pack-rat, so neither Thom or Kyan would be pleased with that.

Kyan, I think, wouldn't give me too hard of a time. My bathroom could be cleaner, but I'm a product-princess and go to salons for my hair care, so he'd love that. Also, I've done yoga for many years, so my collection of tapes & equipment would please him. (Probably why I can relate to him better than the others.) But, as mentioned, he wouldn't like the clutter.

Carson would love the fact that I haven't used wire hangers in many, many years, and, due to his influence, I have increased the amount of good wood hangers on the better clothes. HOWEVER, speaking again of clutter, I have bins of clothes that don't fit and I really should get rid of them because I'll likely never be a size 4 again but, dang it, I can dream, can't I?

Ted would probably shreek at my kitchen. Frankly, my dears, I don't like to cook so there's not much in the fridge. However, since the show began I have replaced all my college-years Teflon flaking pots & pans.

Jai would look at my record/CD collection and think that at least 4 people live in the house. Many different types, so I guess that's good, but not much from recent years. He'd look at my bookshelf and probably be scared because most of it is Stephen King or Dean Koontz (scary stuff!), but there's other stuff too. However, besides the clutter, I've also let any sense of organization slip so he'd probably take me to that organization store that he got stuff from in the last episode.

Looking around right now, the place really needs a good cleaning & I need to toss or donate some stuff.

carson was just in Melbourne(but sadly a looong way from where i live) last week for the Melbourne cup,a major annual horsceracing event, and was featured on an aussie talk show(rove live) last tue-it was great!
he was also at a major departmental store in Sydney, giving out valuable fashion advice to the people of Australia...
too bad that's waaay out of my area too.=(
carson has also recently been in a new ad on tv here for Arnott's snack right biscuit ("it's fruit, with a makeover!")...i'm not sure if they show that elsewhere...anyone?
it's hilarious!
be back soon,take care ppl!

Welcome to the boards!! I'm so glad you could join us! We are a crazy bunch of people, but that's the way we love it! Feel free to join in wherever and whenever you want!
I take it your a Carson fan? We would call you a CIT (Carson in Training). I'm one of Jai's Angels. Kyan's fans are called Kyanites, Ted's are Teddy Grahams, and Thom has an exclusive group here called the Thom Wives.
Forgive me if this is too personal, but where in Australia do you live? I have family in Perth so I'm just wondering.

I'm calling on the well read, intellegent people of this board and if any happen to be from Europe, even better.

I've been hearing the term "Old Europe" a lot lately. Can you educate me on this term?

i'd say the pre-Yalta euro-landscape, but -- maybe it's just countries that are older than rumsfeld. bullsh*t, either way.

Whiskers, funny you should mention Rumsy (or maybe not). I've deduced so far that the recent use is in part due to a reference to U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's dig at Germany for its Iraq war opposition. But why is it a "dig"?

one man's dig is another man's ... i dunno, BMW Z4 -- stupid words for stupid war. rumsfeld prob. has leftover issues (and, referencing the celestials: like dubya, he's a cancer: we always have leftover issues, just not on such a grand, murderous scale) from nixon NATO ambassador days.
cheery article with an even cheerier picture (metrosexuals, circa 1973):

So, that's where they got their training. but not Maybe Rumsy refers to bushy as the "Old Nixon" or would that be the "New Nixon"? Can you see the "dig" there?
