I forgot some of you are too young to remember Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Every single Saturday morning a couple of our friends & their little daughter would come over, we'd have breakfast, sing the "I love toast" song, (they were folksy musicians) and sat around the tv and watched Playhouse. Even when their daughter wasn't with us, we still acted like a bunch of kids, screaming when someone said the word of the day. Got to be a habit even when the show was over.

You're going to be here Wednesday? Cause I don't want to be baking a caked today if so. I don't get the lyrics, but I hardly ever do, so I make up my own, more fun that way. John Zimmerman shaved his legs for skating, it was so obvious, right? I loved that Carson asked. Although I'm still not sure why, they wear pants.

If the conflict turns out favorably I'll be able to tell you why. I'm thinking that all the good wishes in the world won't make it turn out favorably but I can hope can't I?

I know that Tuesday is the new QE and its going to be hard to keep my family in your thoughts, but I can only hope.

Sure I can do that. Normally when the request has to be vague, I start now, that way if the situation changes, it'll apply. Also because I don't know the time of the event and for others, NY for instance is 3 hrs ahead, Australia 18.

Tuesday is actually good for those who remember because our energy is already higher now & will continue to grow, so the excess can be applied. Some clean ahead of time. Someone single like me once said they make dinner right before it starts. I hope they're reading this because I forgot to thank them for the great idea.

I know Ted said his cookbook was coming out this year (Yea, I get to say this year), but I can't find the articles. Here's a bio of apparently a woman who is assisting him. Yea, it looks like another Clarkson Potter, I love the quality of their books.

Hi everyone! I have been away for a while (job had me out of the country for a some time) and wanted to say "Hi." I haven't seen QE for a while and was wondering what are the 'must sees' for the past season. I would like to catch up. I see a lot of new names around and a few old favorites. Thanks for any 'must see' favorites.

Hi! I remember seeing you! Long time, no read! Glad you're back!

As for must sees...that's a hard one! I see that the last time you were here was Sept. 29. Hmm, I think after then was Steve P on Nov 2 and then QE Holiday in December. (We had a QE drought, obviously) Were you here for Winston? I can't remember when his ep showed...was that in October?

Just in case, Winston I didn't really like, it seemed to much to be an ad for his restaurant and not much focusing on him.
Steve was a good ep. Wonderful break from the drought. His wasn't a complete transformation like Mark or Jeff, but it was still good. His dog didn't even recognize the place!
I loved the Holiday ep! There was something new each time it was shown. It was wonderful!

Anything else that I missed that wouldn't be giving away anything?

I cancelled my cable a few months ago in order to get some work done that I needed to do. I thought I could do without cable since I found myself viewing, and therefore paying for reruns. I thought I'd lost my interest in the Fab 5 since I was getting tired of the reruns. I thought QE had run its course and now it was time to move on. I thought I could be like a friend of mine, who doesn't even have a TV, and simply stop watching television since I had long since stopped watching network TV (except for the court shows, of course).

Instead, like a nicotine addict digging in a trashcan for a cigarette butt, I started watching network television! I found myself thinking about the Fab 5 and my Queer As Folk guys all the time! I taped a couple of episode of Queer Eye and Queer As Folk (are they coming back? showtime ain't sayin'!) before I cancelled my cable to help ease the transition. I've played it to death and it was still not enough! I couldn't stand it anymore! I had to get my cable back!

I'm happy to announce that I got connected just in time to see one of my favorite episodes, John B., the urban cowboy (he can ride me anytime) who wanted to propose to his girlfriend. The F5 put the ring in a molded chocolate box! I'm still crying! Fab 5, yes kazirem kaziz!

I'm also happy to announce that I got connected just in time to watch the first episode of the new season! Yea!!!

From now on, I'm going to just say yes!

I don't know what is happening to people.....Peoples Choice..Ok so maybe I wanted some nepotism when it came to Queer Eye,when I saw Tye I knew deep down they did not win.Guess people wanted tear jerkers...Emmys are better than Peoples Choice thou it would of been terrific had they won, it would have reaffrimed the great job they do..those of us that are loyal to the show already know this....

Hi TTB! I was hoping to see your moniker and that you are still on the boards. Your insight on human nature was always appreciated and thought provoking.

Hope you are doing well, last time I was on the boards you were continuing your education and someone in Michigan (me) was rooting for you and following your progress with interest and respect. I know the challege, drive, and sacrifice it takes to do that. Personnaly, several months ago I made the scary jump from working for the automotive General to a very satisfying, challenging (and lucrative) consulant job.

Is it just me... I see a lot of new posters are young. Honestly, the only way I would be 16 again (I turned 41 in December) is if I could take all my knowledge and experience with me!

Is still Dee still around?

TTB's life got very busy & just pops in a few times on the weekends I think, I can't keep up with that girl. We miss her A LOT.

Nope it's not just you, more of Jai's Angels keep floating down from the clouds and they brought as much fun energy as he has. Can I hear a Hallelujah?

I agree with going back to a wiser 16 again. If you invent the machine to make it possible call me.

God struck De's computer with a bolt of lightning due to her unruly conduct on this board. Not. Apparently it was fried due to weather conditons and she'll be back as soon as she can, but occasionally peeks in from the library & has friends who keep in touch. From what I've heard. For all I know she's in Hawaii sipping on Mai Tai's.

I'm Isa, the new resident loudmouth, I mean loqacious member, trying to break the record for most posts. I don't remember if we've met, but I recognize your name and I'm happy to see an old friend return to the Boards.

OK STANDING UP JUMPING UP AND DOWN! LOOK AT ME! Screamining why is this place so big. 1. im back on line hehehe and two i need some queer eye friends who love the show just as much as i do three im going to be very loyal to these boards and four why is there never anyone chatting in the carson kressley fan shat room, do people go else where to chat about the fab five, oh one last thing all you aussies out there are you not the least bit concerned that this new Australian queer eye for the straight guy is taking over the original version, which will not be nearly half as good then ratings will drop and in two years they will finally put back the original american fab five, but due to bad ratings aussie fab five will give them it will no longer be on primetimr, taking the perceived success shows in primetime are viewed as out, and no more due to some idiots at channel 10 who couldnt just leave it be for once, trust me in three years we will just end up watching repeats of the simpsons monday night 7.30pm instead of a great show that once was in australia. DOES THIS NOT CONCERN YOU MY AUSSIE PEEPS?

I feel as if we lost a member of the family....There is no longer ANY images of Thom on Pier 1....its as if they erased him,like he was never their spokesman. They wanted to get rid of Thom pronto!!! His contract isn't even up until Mrach. The problem appears to have started before Aug 04,we rarely saw commericals...Again they NEVER gave Thom time to find his place....yea I know time and money..But to cut the guy out...was it because he was gay??,and with the political wave against gays they did say it wasn't a issue...I don't believe them!!! Thom, where ever you are please know that you are loved and wanted by your fans. Other than QE,it was for the most of us(your ads) a chance to see the SMILES,LAUGHTER and TALENT...Hope we willl see you in other ads/tv projects soon... Sorry,had to let off steam....

Hey girl - life is life, ya know? I applaud you for breaking away and working in a field you love. I'm trying like HADES to do that. My digital art has improved though and my average rankings on Renderosity are now 3-4!

Had to leave school...same reason as 18, 28, and 31 - financial hardship. But hey, I pulled off a 4.0 and 3.5 respectively...and I was sick the semester I pulled the 3.5. I owe them tuition now so I can't go back - and yes I tried the scholarship and grants route. New plan, my daughter is now in high school, she wants to go to the same college. When she graduates, we'll go together (God and finances willing).

Yes there are alot of young faces here now and Lord knows I do not have the energy to keep up like in days past, lol! Alot of them are around my daughter's age so I have kids from offline-life to the boards - have to stock up on pizza! Most times I just sit here and read or hobnob from board to board. If you can keep up with these youngun's, more power to ya! lol

I don't think that's the reason. Thom's no more openly gay now than he was a year go when he signed on, so it's not as if Pier 1 didn't know. Also, I doubt that regular shoppers would stop buying just because the new spokesperson was gay. (At least I hope not.) Personal opinion is that stores like Pier 1 cater to a single specific decorating style & one can definitely have too much wicker & rattan. And the candles & such can be bought cheaper somewhere else. (*shrugs*) I've read that their sales have been going down for years, and I'm guessing that they were hoping to jump on the Queer Eye bandwagon to spark a resurrgence. I do agree that whoever put him in those earlier commercials had NO idea how to use his talents. Those commercials looked like Kirstie Alley leftovers and were rather silly.

And let me tell you, I wrote them a scathing letter saying the same thing. I basically told them they should be ashamed of themselves....and I would never, never ever step a foot into another Pier 1 store.....but I'm sure it doesn't amount to a hill of beans to them.. but it certainly made me feel better! (And you will never convince me that it was not because he is openly gay, when every five minutes you saw a Kirstey Alley commercial!!!!)

Exactly. Your first statements have also been also written about in Finance articles. And those items used to be more unique to their store, now you can buy them cheaper at Walmart, etc. I've been following Motley Fool's analysis of Pier 1 from when they first announced he was their new spokesperson. Their level headed articles have been consistently been more accurate & unbiased than a lot of the other media covering the story. Pier 1 fired the ad agency who produced Kirstie & Thom's tv ads when they finally realized they were incompetent. I hate to say it, but the new agency is better and probably correct that their store would be better served without a spokesperson at all. I can't think of another home store that has one. Pier 1 handled the whole year poorly, and for months should've been treating Thom's press with more respect with regard to his public image. I hope it hasn't affected his business and him personally.

I saw that Ebay had 2 Thommie items:
a keychain(Andrew L. eppy shirt and pants), standing to the side and thumbs in his pockets. The other side says "Thom Filicia it doesn't get any better than this"

The other item is a Pier One advert. (a circle close up smiley face) and wearing a green sweater...
