Little my_guy_ky, rjaye, and notevayas, having put their dolls to rest, ceased hostilities, and now are quietly sitting in rapt attention on the couch watching Uncle SA bounce on his trampoline. And bounce he does, in some very thin cotton pinstripe pajamas..
my_guy_ky giggles
Why is Uncle SA bouncing?
Rjaye whispers
Because Notey hid his jockstrap..
notevayas amended
Uncle SA is Practising for the Gay Olympics..
my_guy_ky giggled softly
I hear the same noise at night at your door Notey. Are you Practising?
Rjaye pouts
"No Fair! I want to practise too!
my_guy_ky insists
Me too!
notevayas and Rjaye yell
No Way!
my_guy_ky insists
Me too! Me too! Uncle SA.. Notey and Rjaye won't let me play Gay Olympics with them!! WAAAAAAAA!
CRASH!! MOAN.. WHA...?
Rjaye tattled
my_guy_ky yelled and made you fall on your bottom!
my_guy_ky tattled
Rjaye said Bottom! Rjaye said Bottom!

I see everyone by the water, especially De, in a chiffony dress on a picnic blanket. I see TTB at an outdoor cafe by the river with a book. I see my_guy_ky walking with Kyan on an ocean beach at night. I see SA with Jai on the ocean in his dinghy! Oh no.. I see.. SHARK ATTACK! (or was that SNARK?) Finish the story SA!

Dear Diary:
‘All Hail’ the miracle of cloning! Without the help of the good doctors in Mexico I’d be in a real bind. While the ‘real’ me recuperates here in the shadow of the pyramids, SA Alpha has already qualified for the finals to retain my Olympic Crown in one-legged hammock bobbing in Athens, SA Beta is beguiling my_guy_ky, notey, and rjaye, who have all regressed into childhood fantasy, with tall tales, and SA Gamma is rumored to be on the Carolina coast trying to save De, who has foolishly been wandering the beaches in the path of a major hurricane, talking to the wind, a la Barbara Cartwright!
******************
But enough of all that meandering! Now where was I when last I wrote. Ah, yes! Jai and I finally got to sleep that first night out on the Atlantic, with the water gently lapping against the sides of our dinghy. At the first rosy fingers of dawn, I waked, and scanned the horizon.
SA: (excitedly) Jai-Ro, quick…get up! Holy Moley, Captain Midnight, you’re not going believe what’s happened.
Jai: (rubbing the sleepy seeds from his eyes) Why, what’s up, 'Super'. You don’t mind if I call you by your first name, do you? I mean…after last night and all…(trailing off)
SA: Shush! The BBB might hear you and then we’d be edited right into his Porndrawer! Now, look straight ahead and tell me what you see.
Jai: Oh, M’Gawd! Why, it’s our old ship, dead ahead, just half a mile away! However did that happen?
SA: (scratching his head) I reckon that when we hoisted my Cloak of Invisibility to protect our anonymity it must have acted like a sail and the prevailing wind has just carried our dinghy along with it.
(A sudden gust of wind lurches the craft forward, as our heroes hear an Ethereal Woman’s Voice {EWV}).
EWV: Sssss….Aaaaaa! Sssss….Aaaaaa! Come back to the States….Ssssss….Aaaaa!
Jai: Cheez, Super! What, or rather who, was that!
SA: Beats me, kid. I can’t place the voice. Must be just ‘written on the wind.’
Jai: (pointing dead ahead a few yards) Hey, what’s that. That ripple out there. It looks like a stick moving through the water.
SA: You’ve got the eye of an eagle there, Tonto! But hush…they might hear us. Looks to me as if there’s a submarine shadowing our old ship…
Jai: (in an excited whisper) Wow! Lookee there. I can see the sub just below the surface…and…and…and it’s… it’s YELLOW!
*********************
(Sorry, Diary! My fingers are beginning to cramp up again. That will have to suffice for now. I’ll try to continue again, tomorrow.)

Can someone recommend books, Wesites, organizations, or other resources that I can turn to for serious, independent, unbiased, scientific research that has been done on homosexuality? Most (okay, all) of what I "know" about it has come from the standard homophobic fare we are fed from childhood, what I have observed of homosexuals, and my own speculations (and an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show). I'd like to know the truth about homosexuals and homosexuality, if possible.

Back in thu day, weddings between African-American slaves were considered as valid as same-sex weddings are today. In some places, the slaves were not even allowed to have the same kinds of "Christian" wedding ceremonies as White people had. So, they devised their own wedding ceremony. They put a broomstick on the ground and the bride and groom jumped over it. Perhaps the Gay community should consider devising their own wedding ceremony. One that carries greater significance to them given their current situation.
I hope my posts aren't too heavy. I'm justr trying to figure out ways to help my Gay sisters and brothers enjoy life to its fullest in spite of the homophobes and lesiphobes (of which I, regrettably, am one but I'm getting over it).

Oh well - it was inevitable! We have required
more space for quite some time now. It makes me the tinest
bit sad to know all that previous info and fun is now going to
be pushed by the wayside... so I thought I'd leave a note
for all the new folks that will stop by here in the future.
Greetings and Welcome to the Forum.
This is part Two of an amazing thread.
Allow me to encourage you - that should you become as
addicted to this forum as we did - that you take the time
to peek and read the original thread of this title.
You won't be able to respond to any of the posts there - as
it is locked. But it has many worthwhile posts to read.
New Members 101
Many folks come seeking similar information - so here's a
few things we have found.
Birthdays
Kyan(Eddie)Douglas - May 5, 1970
Thom Filicia - May 17, 1969 (or '70, depending on reporter.)
Ted Allen - May 20, 1965
(David) Jai Rodriguez - June 22, 1979
Carson (L.) Kressley - November 11, 1969
Boyfriends?
As of the date of this post - we've heard:
Kyan is involved with a handsom young man named Greg Durham.
Thom is involved with a striking gentleman named Greg
Calejo.
Ted has been involved with his dear partner, Barry Rice for
(it would be 11 years NOW wouldn't it?) In a recent
article for US Weekly, Ted spoke of the fact that they had
always worn Claddagh wedding rings on their right hands, but
now have beautiful matching platinum bands they each wear on
their left hands. As of the date of that recent article,
they were planning an official marriage ceremony - but had
not had time yet - with the QE shooting schedule.
(Many congratulations now and to come, dear
Ted and Barry.)
Jai has given several interviews (as late as July'04)
stating he is still not involved with anyone, but is
looking.
Carson has been seen with many different people in recent
days. Articles quoting Jai say both: that Carson dates a lot
AND that Carson is not currently single. We'll have
to wait to hear from the man himself what his status is.
Fans
We've played around with names for ourselves here - and
settled on "C.I.T.'s" for Carson fans - after SG
Jeff Toale's daughter. "Kyanites" for Kyan fans.
Thom-wives or Thom-husbands for
Thom fans (depending on your gender.) Jai's fans have two
names. "Screaming Mimis" (like the wild girls who
would scream and faint in the 60's after the Beatles) or
"Angels" named after the character he plays in "RENT"
on Broadway. "Teddy Grahams" are the Ted fans. (A
tongue-in-cheek nod to his role in the show, and the
Christmas '03 Ted 'Hip Tip'.

(4) - To make color, italics, bold print or smilies:
programming instructions often fall between brackets [].
To cause it to function - you must use all lower case letters,
there should be no spaces within the brackets (or in some
cases, colons) and for all but smilies, you must have an
opening command AND a closing command to make it work
properly. (I have to give examples WITH spaces.)
For ITALICS: [ i ] TEXT [ /i ]
For Bold Print: [ b ] TEXT [ /b ]
For COLOR:
We have a variety. [ color:"nameofcolor" ] TEXT [ /color ]
For items like poetry you can use: [ list ] at the
beginning and [ /list ] at the end and the words will
offset.
Smilies require a space before the code and a space after.
Note one uses a capitol letter while the rest do not.
(Again, to demonstrate, I have to use spaces - to create
them - remember, no spaces within the 'code'. I'll separate
the smily code with dashes.)
is : o -- is : cool : -- is : crazy : --
is : ( -- is : D -- is [ mad ] --
is : shocked : -- is : ) -- is : p --
is ; ) -- is : confused : --

with you. Our guys are performing all over the country and

Quote:
NIGHT ON THE ISLAND -Pablo Neruda
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All night I have slept with you
next to the sea, on the island.
Wild and sweet you were between pleasure and sleep,
between fire and the water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps very late
our dreams joined
at the top or at the bottom,
up above like branches moved by a common wind,
down below like red roots that touch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps your dream
drifted from mine
and through the dark sea
was seeking me
as before,
when you did not exist,
when without sighting you
I sailed by your side,
and your eyes sought what now -
bread, wine, love and anger -
I heap upon you
because you are the cup
that was waiting for the gifts of my life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have slept with you
all night long while
the dark earth spins
with the living and the dead,
and on waking suddenly
in the midst of the shadow
my arm encircled your waist.
Neither night nor sleep
could separate us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have slept with you
and on waking, your mouth,
come from your dream,
gave me taste of earth,
of sea water, of seaweed,
of the depths of your life,
and I received your kiss
moistened by the dawn
as if it came to me
from the sea that surrounds us.
Peace to you all today darlin's! --De
He cited an appearance by the five gay stars of the hit TV show, (you guessed it) "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" in a film shown to American athletes by the U.S. Olympic Committee to help them prepare for Athens.
Greetings and welcome to the forum hon!
I'm so glad you came by and posted!
I wrote a long "Newbies 101" Catalog of things here - and
on the opening of the Fab 5 Forum - and put Scout's address
on the front of Hip Tips... but the DVD conversation is the
one thing I forgot. Silly me. ...Here's what we know as of
the date of this post.
Dear ones - Amazon.com has a place where you input the
material you are requesting. You select "DVD"'s and input:
"Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" - and at that point it
tells you that none are available, but they will let Scout
Productions know you are interested. If enough people
submit requests, Scout is surely going to meet demand.
If one DOES come available - it will surely be advertized
here on the Bravo site. (They know we're waiting for it!)
You may also write Scout Directly and tell them you are
interested in owning a DVD set. WE would ALL surely
adore seeing the outtakes. The crew says most of the
terribly funny stuff has to be edited out because of time
constraints in order to further the "story line" of the
show.
The address is:
Queer Eye For The Straight Guy
c/o Scout Productions
100 Avenue of the Americas 12th Floor
Welcome to the forum, hon - I hope you visit often!
have beset her, and the Gamma-bot may not trace her to her
Her fitfull dreams are full of worries...
What will the neighbor's say about that trampoline?
Will the Olympic Committee find the genetic defects
Will Rjaye, MGK and Notey ever get their bedtime story? Or
Will all the poor Newbies wander away from the forum deeply
I apologize for giving anyone cause to be concerned about my question. It is not a troll. I've googled and yahoo'd "gay," "homosexuality," and "homosexual" only to get gay porn sites and right-wing trash. Nothing that will answer my questions about homosexuality. Following are responses that I got from Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and Congressman Chris Van Hollen concerning their positions on The Federal Marriage Amendment.
Senator Mikulski:
Thank you very much for taking the time
to get in touch with me. It's good to hear
from you.
I oppose Senate Joint Resolution 40 (S.
J. Res. 40), a Constitutional amendment that
would define marriage as a union solely
between a man and a woman. Our U.S.
Constitution provides fundamental rights for
all citizens, so I take amending the
Constitution very seriously. In fact, we
have amended the Constitution only 17 times
in our nation's history.
This amendment is divisive and it is a
distraction from what the United States
Senate should be doing: making our families
safer and stronger. The proposed amendment
does not create one job, pay for one bottle
of prescription drugs or send one child to
college. It is an election year ploy to
divide and conquer. With our country at war
against terrorism, we do not need a cultural
war here at home.
Again, thanks for getting in touch with
me. If there's anything I can do for you in
the future, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Barbara A. Mikulski
United States Senator
P.S. If I can be of any further assistance
in the future, please visit my website at
http://mikulski.senate.gov or call my
Washington office at 202-224-4654.
Congressman Van Hollen:
Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to a proposed amendment to the Constitution that would prohibit civil unions or marriage between gay couples. I appreciate your taking the time to share your concerns with me.
The Federal Marriage Amendment, which was first introduced in 2002, was re-introduced in 2003 by Colorado Representative Marilyn Musgrave as H.J. Res. 56. Like you, I am opposed to this constitutional amendment. I do not believe the constitution should be amended to limit states' expansion of civil rights.
You will be pleased to know that the Senate failed to bring the amendment up for a final vote. However, the effort to defeat this amendment is not over as Congress continues to consider this issue.
Again, thank you for contacting me about this most important matter. Please let me know whenever I may be of service to you.
Can someone recommend books, Wesites, organizations, or other resources that I can turn to for serious, independent, unbiased, scientific research that has been done on homosexuality? Most (okay, all) of what I "know" about it has come from the standard homophobic fare we are fed from childhood, what I have observed of homosexuals, and my own speculations (and an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show). I'd like to know the truth about homosexuals and homosexuality, if possible.
I am not responding to this troll and I suggest that no one provides it with any site locations.
notevayas... spraying my cyber troll repellant and holding my nose!
Note, this person has quite a few posts and has never seemed like a trouble-maker, unless I missed something while I was gone. It seems a legitimate question for someone who, admittedly, does not know anything homosexuality. They are breaking away from what they have learned from those who are homophobic and reaching out to ask so they can learn.
So be positive before negative - I don't think they mean any harm. If they do, we can jump on it if it appears.
I mentioned Thom's wrist in reference to the John Sica episode in which Thom was kind enough to wear the ID bracelet I had sent him in December. tha-thump, tha-thump, tha-thump.....that's my heart beating in time with the pulse in Thom's right wrist. Thank you for reminding me, dahlin'!!!
freshstart: Gays are not officially barred from the Olympics but the article said it is common for gay athletes to wait until retirment to come out. Of course, we all should realize that there doesn't have to be an official policy on an issue to make a situation difficult or even unbearable for some people. The athletes quoted in the article did say that a lot depended on the particular sport, the coaches, the location, etc.
I just read an article courtesy of MSNBC stating that while Mark Tewksbury (former gold medal winner for Canada) believes full acceptance of gay Olympians may take many years, Robert Dover (six Olympic appearances as U.S. equestrian) is heartened by ongoing changes. He cited an appearance by the five gay stars of the hit TV show, (you guessed it) "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" in a film shown to American athletes by the U.S. Olympic Committee to help them prepare for Athens.
Fab 5, continuing to make the whole world a better place for everyone! I'm so proud of you guys! Now THAT'S a gold medal performance!!!
If I understand you correctly, are you saying that homosexuals are barred from competing in the Olympics?
gay olympians are NOT banned from the olympics. It just makes people uncomfortable.
I apologize for giving anyone cause to be concerned about my question. It is not a troll. I've googled and yahoo'd "gay," "homosexuality," and "homosexual" only to get gay porn sites and right-wing trash. Nothing that will answer my questions about homosexuality. I am genuinely interested in gaining an understanding of homosexuality that is as thorough and accurate as possible.
I'm going to drop my two cents in - for the benefit of lurkers and kids with questions, as much as for you.
To find the enlightenment you seek... you're going to have to invest in a little lost shoe leather. Cyberspace is too convoluted on a subject that society - and even dear homosexual people - are still trying to define for themselves.
If you choose the option of attaining a dispationate psychological perspective, you can go to your library and read information from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and learn how the American Psychological Association currently views homosexuality... but be sure you are dealing with the DSM 5, and not earlier versions. The APA removed homosexuality from the catagory of "mental disease/disorder or defect" by the printing of the DSM 3 in 1973... and I mention that by way of showing how relatively recent views began to change. Avoid American psychological rhetoric that is pre-1973.
You can visit your library's magazine section and search editions of the APA Journal, Psychology Today, and leading gay and lesbian magazines such as The Advocate. (Should your library be so progressive.) But I wouldn't go to the condensed versions online.
However, this will still only give you opinions of persons struggling to become "expert" in a field that is relatively new to "open" modern American society. (Although common when you look back though world history.)
The fact remains - there are as many different types of homosexual persons with as many different views of "the Community" as there are people on earth.
It's like any group of people. There are young kids, and senior citizens... currently in "straight" marriages, divorcees and those who have never been married... persons with and without kids... religious and non religious... well to do and very poor... employed and unemployed... Republican and Democrat... Vegan and meat eater... healthy and sick... those comfortable with themselves and those still hiding their true selves... militant and uninvolved... Xenophobes and gregarious... responsible and irresponsible... intelligent and deeply dense... all nationalities and both genders.
You have to begin - most of all - with yourself.
You can no more explain what makes you instinctively desire to be heterosexual than they can explain why they are gay. Are you a human with need for food, water, lodging, security, health care, sex, love, friendships, etc.? So are they.
If you are struggling with - as I think you either stated or elluded to - "your own" version of homophobia... I would have to wonder what draws you first to the show, and then to regularly visit this site? Granted, it is heavily populated with straight women... but it is a gay friendly site, nonetheless. What would ever be the attraction?
...But for the benefit of others - as much as you - I would encourage you to not be afraid to meet new people. Go to as many different types of social gatherings as much as possible. Should you meet a gay person - treat them with respect, just as you yourself would care to be treated. By making new friends, you expand your own understanding of the world... and that is something cyberspace will never truly help you understand. ...And the "accuracy" you seek? Is only as accurate as the person that stands in front of you.
Good luck. Peace - in this our world - today. --De
I defer to you TTB. I forget sometimes that the majority of posters here are straight. (my version of a compliment..)
I'll just listen while 'freshstart' searches for the 'truth' about those 'homosexuals'. I won't say a word..
why??? does everyone who watches the show, and/or , wants to post a comment, "have to be" homosexual?? Why aren't we "Breeders" (;yes name-calling goes BOTH ways,obviously) allowed to vent as well?? WE love the show too!! They are all adorable. And NO - I DON"T hate homosexuals; as matter of fact, I am surrounded by them in my "real life",and I couldn't care less their sexual preferences as long as they are decent people. I dislike fake,two-faced people and if someone who is GAY is also two=faced then Yes, I dislike them.BUt it's NOT bec/of their orientation. One of my offspring is gay (I TOTALLY BELIEVE< although it's NOT been announced-yet;callit Mother's intuition) and I couldnt' care LESS if it IS true - I just want happy well-adjusted productive kids as they grow and if he's gay then who cares and Yes, I WILL welcome him forever into my home and my arms, as well as any lover he brings with him, AS LONG AS they are treating him right!! That's it.
Dear Diary:
Now, where did I leave off, yesterday. Ah yes, Jai-Ro had just discovered an anomaly in our vicinity of the Atlantic. Almost directly below our dinghy, a YELLOW SUBMARINE was lurking at periscope depth, shadowing the luxury liner from which we had been forcibly ejected several days ago.
********************
Jai: What’re we gonna do now, Supe?
SA: Hmmm..let me think. Well, for starters, make a lasso out of that rope that used to connect us to the liner. (pause) Good job, bro Jai-Ro! You must have been one hellava Boy Scout.
Jai: Never made the grade, Supe. I was always too busy perfecting my tap routine. But just surviving in the Big Apple, I picked up a few bits of trivia along the way…
SA: Now, hush up and do as I say, Mr. Urban Cowboy. If you can snag that periscope with your lasso, we can hitch a free trip to ……wherever. (splash!) Dead ringer on the first try. Now, let’s go for a ride on the wild side!
Jai: I’ve done my part. What’s next?
SA: (sound of metal against metal) Nowwww, as I remember, in our survival gear there’s a…ah, yes…there it is. I hope the batteries are still strong. Now if I just reverse the polarity…and adjust this dingus…align the scope to the north pole…tighten the doo-hickey to the whats-it on the other side, and… VOILA! Success!
Jai: O.K.! So, I’m impressed, already. But what kinda mechanical thing-ah-ma-[censored] have you created, ‘ol evil one’!
SA: Elementary, my dear Watson. We now have a Sonar Super Spyscope, or Tri-S, as we call it in the trade. It will let us know just what’s going on with our friends under the waves. Let’s just hope I adjusted the language transliterator setting right so it will decipher whatever their native tongue is into standard American stage speech! And cross your fingers whilst I dangle the dingus into the ocean.
(sound of a splash, followed by bubbles)
*******************
Sorry, dear Diary. I gotta go for now. Nursey Nunsense just came in to give me my 4 o’clock meds and they’ll put me in La-La Land for at least eight hours…..Sweet Dreams of Jai and his four sidekicks, in glorious Technicolor!
SA, a little stronger today (sighs), and thank you for asking.
P.S. I forgot to tell you about our “mock shark/snark attack,” in all the excitement. Turns out it was just a kid’s blow-up, souvenir, life size shark from Sea World in Orlando, that the Trade Winds blew clear across the Atlantic into our path. Kinda funny though, “inflatable shark attacks inflatable dinghy.” (Nice try, Notey! Y’ forgot you’re dealing with a mighty powerful warlock)
Following are responses that I got from Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and Congressman Chris Van Hollen concerning their positions on The Federal Marriage Amendment.
Senator Mikulski:
Thank you very much for taking the time
to get in touch with me. It's good to hear
from you.
I oppose Senate Joint Resolution 40 (S.
J. Res. 40), a Constitutional amendment that
would define marriage as a union solely
between a man and a woman. Our U.S.
Constitution provides fundamental rights for
all citizens, so I take amending the
Constitution very seriously. In fact, we
have amended the Constitution only 17 times
in our nation's history.
This amendment is divisive and it is a
distraction from what the United States
Senate should be doing: making our families
safer and stronger. The proposed amendment
does not create one job, pay for one bottle
of prescription drugs or send one child to
college. It is an election year ploy to
divide and conquer. With our country at war
against terrorism, we do not need a cultural
war here at home.
Again, thanks for getting in touch with
me. If there's anything I can do for you in
the future, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Barbara A. Mikulski
United States Senator
P.S. If I can be of any further assistance
in the future, please visit my website at
Washington office at 202-224-4654.
