OMG! I have been sick with the cold and away, and I just got here so...
A belated Happy Birthday to Rjaye! Hope you had fun!!
~BFOJ
BFOJ--
Thanks, kiddo. I did have a cold a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't that nasty chest cold everyone else got. Instead, it stayed in my head (I know, it's all in my head), and I was able to function pretty well.
While I'm posting to you, are you on Carson's site? Are you or anyone else having problems with his site trying to get messages and posting? I de-fragged my pc, my niece did something to it regarding MSN Messenger, but I don't think it's anything she did, and Carson's is the only site that's been affected. The Web-master changed the lay-out, and now I can't get a full screen, and I can't adjust that screen at all, but every other board I go to is normal. I'm just having problems at Carson's.
It figures Carson's would be the "not normal" site.
Peace and love, Rjaye
I'm registered on there, so let's see....
Nope. No problems with mine. Carson's is working fine...
With the cold I have, I can barely talk. I completely lost my voice this morning, and it's not getting much better. I have a cough too, and I have school tomorrow, Oh Joy!
Hope you can figure what wrong with your computer!

Carson's Myer commericials are on Australian TV now. They began on the ARIAs (Australian music awards) yesterday. (To the Aussies: Wasn't that the best ARIAs ever?!?!)
Here is the description of the ad that I posted at Carson's:
A woman is sitting on a couch wearing an orange sweater, grey tracksuit pants and glasses with her hair tied up loosely. Carson enters carrying shopping bags and his whip/wand. He is wearing the outfit we have already seen with knee-high riding boots.
Carson: (Something I missed...)
Woman: No way!
Both bend in for a hug and cheek kiss. Boxes and bags have suddenly appeared all bearing the word "Myer."
Carson: Take a look at you! We need to get you ready for spring racing. Gestures at boxes and bags My oh my! Myer fabulous!
Carson does one of those flipping clothes everywhere "magic of television" things on the girl, like they do on the SGs in the QE commercials on the official website. He has his back to the camera, so we see the Union Jack on the back of that jacket. Very nice.
The dress is black with white polka dots and is the kind of style that would be A-line, but is soft enough that it just falls into a flouncy little skirt. The kind of thing that would be good to dance in. She is also wearing a hat, which is kind of like a top hat in shape but the brim is on a slant and it has a white flower and 3 black feathers on it.
Carson: Look at this winning form! Now that's a frock.
Uses whip as a wand (with fairy dust and all!!) to change the woman into a different dress. (Think fairy godmother in Disney's Cinderalla) This one is lime green. It has a three tiered skirt and a strapless top, held up by a pearl necklace. (You have a dirty mind! ) She also has some gorgeous pink heels on and some not so gorgeous fluffy pink and yellow things in her hair. Sorry, Carson, not a fan of the hair.
Carson: Sparkalicious. Tracksuit to trackside! Holding up a dress to himself Ooh, black! Very slimming.
Throws the dress to the woman.
Carson: Holding the whip like a microphoneI think we have a winner! Now repeat after me: I'd like to thank my stylist... gestures to himself Carson!
Carson jumps towards the camera and points at it with his whip.
Carson: Are you ready for spring racing?
He brings the whip to his mouth and bites on the end, smiling coyly. Very cute. In fact, I would be so bold as to say the whip biting is the cutest thing I have ever seen Carson do.
A horse whinnies and the Myer logo comes onto screen. Myer jingle is sung: My store, Myer.
Carson skips past the camera making horse noises using coconuts.
All in all, a great ad. I wish you guys could see it.
BTW, are the American women here taking part in the "buy-cott?"

Thanks so much for telling us! I wish I could see it. At least I saw the Arnotts(?) one.

Too bad. You missed the best of parts of what I think is the best ARIAs, nay, the best awards show, I have ever seen. Rove was really in top form last night, and I thought it was great how they had continuous conversations throughout the show, eg. Jet trying not to swear in their speeches and John Butler getting Rove pregnant. Guy Sebastian kinda sucked though...
Did anyone else actually see the whole thing or am I talking to myself here?
Anyway, I think there is a high liklihood that the Myer ad will be on QE tonight. It wouldn't be out of character, like it would have been for Snack Right. Myer is in cahoots with Channel 10 for the Melbourne Cup coverage, as well.

I stand corrected. There was an article in the Herald Sun a while back that said "Telecast heads at channel 7 which has the Cup broadcast rights, saw red when told that Myer's international face was to be a channel 10 personality. Apparently it was even floated around that Carson not appear on the Cup day coverage (Mer: which makes me wonder: what was the point) but wiser heads prevailed." That's why I got confused.
Looking back though, it seems that we won't get the commercials tonight because "DJ bought all the advertising spots on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
Heres the source article: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/mer...carsonraces.jpg
The "little old guy" was Rove's version of a "trophy girl." You know those pretty model-type girls who usually give out trophys? Well, you know Rove. He has to have his own little spin on everything.

OK, so I am totally in love with Carson...absolutely, he makes me laugh so much! And though it was wonderful to meet Kyan, when I found out Carson was coming to the cities....well you can be sure I planned my weekend around it! We got there early just because I had heard horror stories of past posters about their adventures at home and garden shows. It was first come, first serve....for 1200 people. We sat in the 5th row and waited. Marshall Fields had a whole set for him complete w/ couches, tables, chairs, lamps. It was really great. He came out and everyone screamed. He is so beautiful. He was wearing Louis Vuitton logoed slippers, jeans, a belt w/ lots of bling on it, a purple RL shirt w/ the logo all over it and a tan leather jacket. He is so funny. I was wondering if he acted the way he did because of the cameras...nope he really is that quick and sooo funny. He's kinda full of himself but it works. He answered everyones questions and let it known that everyone but he and Jai have partners and that they plan on coming to the cities to do makeovers soon within the next few seasons. He knew alot about the local area...he visits often. It was the greatest hour ever and he kept everyone laughing. Afterwards he said he was going to autograph everything and everyone could come touch him. I wasn't really sure what he was going to autograph because I have the Fab 5 book, CD, calendar, etc. And I didn't want to buy his new book because frankly I'm not a guy and I already know how to dress. So I was pleased to hear this. The line went around the room it was so long and he took the time to get to know everyone's name and take pictures and sign ANYTHING and he talked to peoples friends on their cell phones. He was really sweet about everything. It was very nice of him, I thought he might be a bit of a diva. Before we got up there he stood up and said he was sorry because he had a plane to catch, we all dropped our mouths, but then he said just kidding. I got up there and had him sign my calendar because Kyan did...he is Mr. October after all! And he signed 2 pictures of his headshot. He told me loved my name and then we took a picture together and then we hugged. He is soo tiny and lithe. He is so skinny and just adorable. I think I could die happy after this. I was on air. Then we left the convention center and he and his entourage walked out right after us to get to the parking garage. Surreal, completly surreal. He decided not to take the elevator so I said good bye and some girl figured out who it was and freaked and ran after him. It was funny!
So the next day he was at the MOA and I had some friends meeting us there so they could meet him. It was so strict because it was put on by Barnes and Noble...so he was ONLY signing his book, you needed a wristband to get in line, no pictures would be taken, and you had to put everything away before you got on stage. So we kinda just watched from the 2nd level while he danced to the CD and he read a part of his book which he had done the day before as well. He would do voices and he was soo cute. He made a comment about someone getting him egg rolls so me and my friends decided that would be our job. So we went shopping and kinda took our time because we didn't want to wait in a long line w/ food. Well, someone else brought him egg rolls so then we felt lost. So, we decided we would get him Godiva chocolates...only the best for Carson so as we were getting them my mom called me and said they were taking down the barriers so I better hurry but they had to put the chocolates in a box and then gift wrap it. We ran back and they wouldn't let us in line. WE told them all we wanted to do was give him something and not get anything signed. He was actually being very nice and still asked everyone their names and signed stuff and was taking pictures with everyone despite the rules handed out. So this guy told us to talk to the security guard and they told us to talk to another security guard...and they were actually upset that they wouldn't let us in and give it to him.So we were kinda behind the scenes...it was held in a rotunda but a stage set up w/ a backdrop and we were looking at him from the side and the back. They told us to write a note and they'd give it to him but my friend was like, just give it to him and point to us....so as she made her way up the stage he turned jumped up and came over and was like "STOP!" No you didn't and gave us each a hug. I could tell he recognized me and was searching for my name. We told him they wouldn't let us in but we wanted to give him something, so he held up the line to do this and took another pic w/ us. Then sat down and dug into his present and opened it up and showed everyone. He then started giving it away and we yelled, "Uh, Carson, it's for you". He's like I'm sharing, do you want some? We said, "no, it's for you." He's like, "no, come here" and opened the curtain and came out the back and held out the chocolates for us to have and thanked us again for them.
He is so nice and really went out of his way to please everyone and make sure everyone got time w/ him and I just love him more for it. He was charming, funny, and sweet. I am so thankful to have met him. I truly am lucky...seeing as he is my favorite. And he had the best shoes ever! I told him I loved them. So, I had a wonderful weekend and I hope all of you get to meet at least one of them because it is worth it. I am now ending this truly long post! I hope you don't think I am a stalker!

Thanks for the kittens! ...Wonder what my doggies will think??? LOL!
Hmmmmm... How do you "make BETTER" someone who lives with a wife that has that kind of money? What event would he prep for? A charity event? (Is Cali a community property state? He could argue the pre-assets were partly his since he was an earnings participant as her back up dancer!) Would Jai be teaching him how to "work the RED Carpet?" Would Thom be designing for the pool house? Would Carson be taking him on Brittney's private jet to Milan to chose couture direct from the runway? Would Ted be helping him learn to be snotty to caterers that charge hundreds of thousand's of dollars? They guy's a dancer, right? So Kyan wouldn't be handling exercise... perhaps eye care to help him prevent damage from the stalkeratzi's flashes. He could also help him chose the snootiest spa in the area...
I just have a feeling that we'll be "remembering" this guy like we remember one of Madonna's ex's. (Carlos, who??? Oh! Lourdes's father....)
Oh well... it oughta be interesting to say the very least!! Peace! --De

I wouldn't worry too much about snow. In December, it's usually not enough to block off the pass. The worst I've seen it was in this past January where we got six inches (where I live) I can't wait 'til December!

...so every day is filled with lots of different prayers and chanting for peace ...
really. how often do you stop to eat?
Whiskers, you seriously crack me up too. I literally laughed out loud that day. Sorry this reply is so late, first I couldn't find enough time, then I lost the post until tomasulo replied.
I know you were kidding, but since you asked: (No one asked? Oh well.)
There're different estimates on how many thoughts people have per minute. A very conservative number would be 12. That's 11,520 thoughts in a 16 hour day. So even if I say only 40 prayers for approx. 30 seconds a day, that still leaves me 14.67 hours to eat.
And that includes half an hour in the morn & eve, chanting Nam-myoho-renge-Kyo & studying Nichiren Buddhist teachings.
Blessed be,
Isa

I must have missed that conversation. Do you happen to remember anything that could point me to a starting place to search? I thought I'd read most of his thread, but it's like a big book now. I'm intrigued...I'll read the book if I have to.
