I am just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a copy of the guys when they were on Oprah. My best friend taped a movie over it. I tried for her web for a copy, but they just have the transcript..who wants to read when one can watch the guys. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I caught the midnight showing - I've never seen Carson laugh so much as when he was on this show! Both he and Graham were funny as heck - Carson especially had me crackin' up at the chocolate incident, lol

That show was hysterical! I loved the chocolate story! And yeah, I don't think I've seen Carson laugh so much either. Looks like he had a lot of fun!

I did the same with the Regis and Kelly tape before I got a chance to transcribe it for the folks here - OH! Was I distraught! I don't have the Oprah on tape either... I could guide you to pictures but the BBB won't let me. If you would settle for pics, click on my name and hit my e-mail. I could at least guide you as to where to find them sometime over this non-posting weekend.
Hmmm... also... Carson on Graham... should I transcribe? I JUST KNOW we'll have Newbies in the future that will say, "I know someone who had Carson's boyfriend crash their party and molest a peice of statuary!"
Carson was staggeringly beautiful! Whew! What a gorgeous man! (And the twins weren't bad either!) I just ROLLED!!!

And I got the impression Graham was a little smitten with Carson--but maybe I'm reading too much into it. It was nice to see Carson just outright laugh. He seems so controlled and focussed on QE.

Omg, I think I've seen this episode! I'm from the UK and it aired a few months ago! Is the actor Gabriel Bryne on it? If so, it's the episode I'm thinking of! Does Carson come on stage escorted by two gorgeous hunks? Graham Norton used to be on Channel 4 here and now he's moved to the BBC which should be interesting!! envelopes to "Bubba."
The very same night, mere blocks away, an alternate universe will be flourishing (fabulously, no doubt) at Neiman Marcus downtown, where Ken Downing and company will be feting all five stars of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. As many of you already know, Carson, Kyan, Thom, Ted and Jai have been in town to work their magic on style-impaired Texans, of which there are many. (The episodes will air early next year on Bravo.)

Syracuse native Thom Filicia, the resident interior design expert on Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," is one of the celebrities who explains what "traditional" means to them in the October issue of Traditional Home magazine.
Others quoted include the less-than-traditional reality-TV star Sharon Osborne, movie director John Waters and Dusty Hill, of the band ZZ Top. Says Filicia: "I think you can be very modern with traditional elements. I sort of merge traditional and classic together. I think classic is design that is sort of timeless, and it doesn't fit into a trend. You can achieve that with modern furniture, and you can also achieve modern interior with classic or traditional furniture. It's just the way you use it."
Filicia is a 1988 graduate of Nottingham High School and attended Syracuse University. He grew up in Syracuse's Sedgwick neighborhood. He's also the spokesperson for Pier I Imports.

Guess what? I just got three QE related magazines in the mail. I won them on ebay and i wouldnt have been able to without my dad. THanks daddy for giving me your credit card. Lol. ok the first one was
A&U magazine kyan douglas on cover it is about the AIDS walk and Kyan's views on sex and marriage. He says he wants to have the rights to get married because he has found that "special someone"
the second was
ADVOCATE Magazine all FAB 5 on cover about Gay's and what the show has done for them and america.
the third was
NEXT Magazine Jai on cover about him on Broadway.

I found an Oprah after the show video on oprahs website. If you go to her site and click on Oprah after the show. Go down to 9/22/03 and it will give you a ten minute clip of the after the show episode.

Gabriel B. wasn't on it, I'm sorry to say - a woman from the Sopranos was - naturally I can't remember her name, but she plays Carmella? I think? I'm one of the few people in the universe who has never seen the Sopranos. No HBO.

Wandering around Oprah's website, I came across a description of an article in September's O magazine by Thom. I grabbed my purse, and twenty minutes later I was enjoying four gorgeous pages of how-to accessorize tabletops, and also with pillows and luxurious throws. The way he combines colors amazes me.
The next issue arrives in stores around now. So if you want this mag, get up off your chair! Up, up, move!

I ordered the 2005 calendar from Amazon last week, and it just got here. It's so hot, I sorta feel guilty like I just got porn or something. My favorites are the TWO cowboy scenes. My fellow Thom-wives & husbands, before opening your calender, sit down and avoid a T.R.I. --Thom-related-injury.

Be on the lookout for the ultra-fashionable stars of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The "Fab Five" -- Carson, Jai, Kyan, Ted and Thom -- are currently filming three episodes of their popular cable makeover show in the Metroplex.
Thom Filicia, the series' interior-design expert and a spokesman for Pier 1 Imports, stopped by the chain's downtown Fort Worth store Monday morning. He says the gang will be in town for several weeks -- which might be the reason attempts to get them to stop by the headquarters of dorky straight guys (aka the Star-Telegram) so far have not come to pass. It would take months to make us presentable.

"Talked today about a possible (..gulp) Queer Eye For The Straight Guy appearance," said Simmons on his website www.genesimmons.com. "They called and asked me if I would do it. I'm a fan of the show. We may shoot on the 28th of September and, while the PR people at most places prefer not to 'leak' any info until they're ready, I don't play like that. As soon as I make up my mind about something, I will let you all know."

He was hilarious, as usual - and seemed to be enjoying it very much. Graham had a copy of Carson's book which is coming out in September, and C seemed quite surprised and said he hadn't even gotten to see the actual book yet himself. There was a lot going on, as usual - from what I've seen, it appears to be a very similar format to the British version so they had the audience interaction stuff and sent a guy out to Times Square to molest a statue who turned out to be a mime - this guy ended up going to a rooftop party that was visible from the studio camera, which oddly featured a statue. They wouldn't let him in until Carson got on the phone and told the bouncer that this guy was his boyfriend and needed to give a message to the (apparently) lone woman at the party. The bouncer was rendered speechless, but let the guy in.
Anyhow, it was fun. I want to see the British one with Carson - I hope they'll show it on BBC.

'Queer Eye' guys ride into town
The land of cowboys and pickup trucks is about to get a queer makeover.
For its first foray outside New York, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has turned its gaze on North Texas, where the show's "Fab Five" stylists will remake a Plano cowboy, a Fort Worth nursing-home worker – and an entire fraternity.
But why Dallas and not Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami?
"Let's start with the cowboys," interior designer Thom Filicia said Tuesday as he scouted locations around town.
Producers for the Bravo cable show say they were looking for a city that would look and feel different from New York. In Dallas, they found wide-open spaces and a place with its own sensibility.
But what really struck executive producer David Metzler is how polite everyone acts.
"That Southern charm kind of thing – everybody's so warm," he said from his Los Angeles office. "Once we started sending scouts down there, whether it was store owners or straight guys or people who worked for the Dallas Film Commission, everybody was so inviting of the idea it felt like it was the perfect place."
The three episodes will be shot over the next three weeks and air early next year. The production kicks off with a private reception tonight at the downtown Neiman Marcus.
Some lucky Greeks – the names of the fraternity and campus are under wraps – are among the straight guys who will benefit. They will have their main room redone by Mr. Filicia, along with a new look for their rush chairman.
Though the Fab Five just arrived this week, they have already been spotted out on the town. Monday night they ate at Sambuca in Uptown, followed by drinks at JR's Bar and Grill in Oak Lawn.
And they've been making the rounds at various shops – including clothing maven Carson Kressley's trips to the NorthPark Neiman Marcus and the Polo Ralph Lauren boutique in Highland Park Village. Pier 1 spokesman Filicia, meanwhile, was signing books Tuesday night at the chain's Dallas Parkway store.

Ok here is the thing. In a few days I am going to post some pics of my dad and put them on my website. I will tell you guys when they are up. But for now I was wondering if you people could tell me if you think my dad could use a makeover. Im not sure if it would be from the Fab 5 but a makeover none the less. Here are his problem areas (lol)...
*hair on his back
*yellow toenails (ewwww)
*calused feet (ewwww)
*washes his face with his shampoo
*has blackheads like you wouldnt believe
*wears suit pants with a plain ugly shirt with his work logo on it
*wears ugly shorts with dirt on them and shirts with holes in them
*has ugly ties
*is not romantic at all (last time y mom wanted diamonds she had to beg my dad for them)
*can cook pretty well but the barbeque is never clean
*the house is pretty good except for the fact that one room is dedicated soley for my moms dolls (we live in a one level house)
*my dad uses the deodorant in aerosole cans
*he gets $2-$3 haircuts
*he uses rite aid after shave
*he is overweight
*he buys cheap clothes
*the bed is overpowering for the room
*his undershirts has strange fluids and colors on them
*the buttons on his shirts look like he is about to burst
and more

*gasp* -- there's a long-time rumor that Gene Simmons lives in Asheville, NC, which is where I'm from originally. I have no idea if that's true, and I wouldn't know him if I ran smack into him (unless of course he was in KISS-Wear, which would make it pretty obvious). Could they possibly come to MY HOMETOWN??? Well, probably not, but I can still dream! Andie McDowell really does live there, and is often sighted around town.

Sounds more like a "Rooto-Rooter" candidate to me. The Fab Five would have to wear radiation gear to approach this job!

Had to chime in on this one - yes they really ARE that nice down there! Years ago when my daughter was a baby, we went through the northern part of Texas. 1 - it was HUGE!! Everything in Texas is BIG! They weren't kidding about that! 2 - my mother said the people might not be that friendly toward us. She was wrong, they were ultra nice! I remember in Amarillo, in this HUGE mall, a womam of good healthy size began talking to us. I was caught off guard in a good way - just like in NYC. So the boys will be having a blast down there!

AH! He washes his face with shampoo? Sounds like he does need a makeover from somebody...but the Fab 5 would be best!
