I wasn't wowed by Jeffrey's collection nor did the audience seem to be. They really seemed to like Laura's and Uli's collection better. I'm beginning to think Kors and Nina are idiots. Uli should have won it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's because the audience goes by who they like more as a person, and not who the best designer is.......look at the rate the runway results...Michael has higher scores than Jeffrey and his collection was very dissapointing. Jeffrey was the more innovative, and you don't become a big designer by doing what others have done already. Uli was also amazing and it was a very close call. I think the judges made their choice based on innovation more than marketability and you can disagree with that, but no doubt Jeffrey is a very talented and creative designer, even if his personality leaves much to be desired.
*********************

Oh, I disagree about the audience going with a favorite person. The rate the runway results yes, that was definitely based on voting for the fan favorite. But the audience was applauding individual designs that really excited them. It had nothing to do with a favorite person. None of Jeffrey's "innovated" designs got anyone excited enough to get applause.

I just don't see anything different from his so-called "cool, hip, trendy designs" from any other "cool, hip, trendy designs" for the "cool, hip, trendy crowd". How innovated is that?

My favorite was Laura but she did the same thing over and over again. What's a matter with these designers? How many times must they be told to do something different with their designs and then keep with the same? It was a beautiful collection, though. Uli still should have won based on her collection.

I'm sorry to burst all you Jeffrey fan's bubbles, but the only reason he remained on the show is becuase of the producer's power. The final decisions of judging all had to go through them, and Jeffrey being the person he is, cuases lots of drama, which makes good TV, thus leading to more money for them. I'm not saying he cheated, which i don't think he did, but his designs were not his best. Yes he is messed up, but boo-hoo millions of others have been through what he has, the only difference is that they aren't on Project Runway. Plus he's not the only one who's been through a lot, look at Uli, and look at where she grew up, she's living the American Dream.....So basically Jeff should not have won.

Tell 'em Brooklyn! You are exactly right, I just didn't want to go that deep. You hit it right on the head!

So, buddy, if they were really worried about ratings, wouldnt they have picked Uli, the safe choice?

Oh wait, your argument doesn't make sense,my bad.

This is SUCKFEST 2006!!!!!!!! THE most ridiculous decison ever!!!! Oooooo Jeffrey is so dark, so edgy and I would not WEAR, let alone BUY ONE of his outfits!
Uli is amazing and has a long career in front of her. I will definitely buy her clothes!
The Judges need to get their acts together and stop following such a CLICHE version of what fashoin is...ie, it has to be ugly to be diffferent or innovative...
jillibeens
To criticize the fashions from all the designers is fine and expected. To make remarks about the physical appearance of a designer is childish and tacky. This show is about the look of the clothing, not the designer. Just shows the mentality of the viewing public. The anger and out of control remarks made here tells me that too many people here seriously need to get a life, and a grip. Relax, it's only fashion. Not a life altering event!

Quote: It's too bad that timless style and good taste is never rewarded anymore. And he didn't even PAY ATTENTION TO THE BUDGET. If he did, he would have known he was over.Quote End

Laura's design collection was exactly "timeless style" if you noticed, Heidi and the other models told Laura her designs could be in a woman's closet for years. I've watched this competition from the beginning. The judges told the designers time after time they wanted to see "edgy" - "new risks" in the designs.

Jeffery ENDED up $400 UNDER BUDGET...He orginally was $200 over, per TIM...so Jeffery left the wigs out of the show & that put him $400 UNDER BUGET. I don't care if you like the guy or not, but he was wrongly accused of something & he is the only designer whose budget and/or work was investigated because he was wrongly accused OF NOT SEWING HIS COLLECTION BY HIMSELF & HE WAS ACCUSED OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEW AS WELL AS HIS COLLECTION turned out to be...the other three did not believe he sewed that good. They said it all to the TV cameras and for some reason no one seems to give him credit for handling that so well.

I was a hairdresser for many years. I attended the big shows year after year, I once won a gold medal in a big competition...we never did what everyone would wear. We were to show the use of new products, make up, clothes, and hair in competion or on the runway looked bizarre...that was the point - to not get old but to be trendy. To show the impossible to think outside the box. In hair/clothing design there is a new trend every Spirng & every Fall. I studied under Vidal Sasson in Chicago more than a year before Dorothy Hamill appeared on TV skating in the Olympicss with the "wedge" haircut...no one wanted it before the night they saw her hair cut as she would spin on the ice & that hair cut was an instant hit! Phones were ringing off the hook - the haircut became known as the "Dorothy Hamill" and that brought all the young women & girls back to the beauty salons. We had to teach our clients how to blow dry their hair. I don't think you understand how quickly design changes. It doesn't matter in fashion if we like it or not it is going to change...and people of all ages will be inspired to do things they never believed they could do because someone will believe in them and push them to limits they that will thrill many people ~ not everyone, but that's OK. Simply being opened to seeing new trends will keep you forever young...look at Rod Stewart speaking of "Forever Young" What is old is new again..but there is always a new twist.
LaGabberGirl
OMg, I honestly LOVE THEM ALL, but ULI rocked it the most! This is the FIRST Project Runway where ALL the finalist had great cohesive, flowing, collections that showed who they are and what they are about...and I would wear a piece from ALL the finalist! BRAVO to whoever wins right now, but I think they are ALL winners!

I'm so glad Jeffery won! He completely deserved it. He may have been a jerk sometimes but this wasn't a popularity contest. I loved his collection, he was definitley the best designer on this season. Uli's collection was wonderful too, Laura's was awful... it looked like a nursing home exploded on the runway. Micheal's was a little disappointing, I really like his personality, but he needs some experience under his belt. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the judge's decisions. What a great end to the season! Jeffery rocks!
LadyEowyn
WERE THE JUDGES DRUGGED?!?!?! WERE THEY DRUNK?!!?!?

Please tell me there was a reason for their "lapse in judgement"! How in the world could they let Jeffrey win?!?!
It's unbelievable! I almost cried. I wanted to throw something! He did NOT deserve to win.

He didn't even deserve to present at Olympus Fashion Week. He has some talent, but he's definitely not worthy of winning PR3!

I doubt this will happen, but...............
I wish that all of the judges will wake up tomorrow with some really bad hangover, realize they were drugged by Jeffrey and announce that there was a huge mistake and he didn't win afterall!

I love Michael, but as Chloe Dao said...based solely on final collections...Uli or Laura should have won. They have so much talent.
Uli, was able to put her stamp on her collection with prints, but didn't go overboard.
Laura, did do gowns and yes we've seen some of that kind of stuff from her throughout the competition but these were different. You could tell she took into consideration all of the comments the judges had given her throughout the competition.
Michael, again I love him! I liked his idea/theme for his collection, but I'm not so sure about the way he pulled it off.

Although Michael, Uli and Laura didn't win, I know we'll be seeing AMAZING, INCREDIBLE things from them. I can't wait to walk into a store and see their designs.
Jeffrey will probably go off and give PR3 a bad name by not doing anything innovative, creative etc. from here on out. His entire crappy collection is all "one note" as the judges would say. So is his style.

At least the other contestants took chances and risks and took into consideration comments made to them throughout the competition. Jeffrey just threw together his same old designs. There were no surprises, nothing exciting. Zilch.

Hopefully we can all sleep well tonight in a world where the unspeakable happened.......Jeffrey won PR3. It's a sad, sad night...............

Not to make too fine a point about it,but most designers are photographed a lot,so really, appearance is important.Beside, someone sporting a neck tatoo and a mullet is not a shrinking violet. He put together his own appearance. And in the fashion world, all designers have a gimmick(Valentino always has the fan,McQueen chain smokes,Yves St Laurent was always described as nervous, etc)It is really part of the game,y'know. But maybe we all need to lighten up a bit....

Agreed. Jeffrey's models looked lifeless as they walked down the runway. Maybe it was wearing the circus get-up that sucked the life out of them. I don't know anyone who would wear that stuff. I was disappointed in Michael's -- his was not what I expected from him at all, but at least it was wearable and not hideous (read: JEFFREY). Laura's was predictable but beautiful and I noticed she left off the green coat, which might have been a big mistake (Tim, did you shoot her in the foot on purpose?) Uli was my winner of the night, she had range, she had color, she had youthful flair, elegance, marketability. Jeffrey has a point of view alright -- TACKY. I'm so disappointed. Wasted a whole lot of energy on this show.

Are models not allowed to smile? they all looked like they hated being there!

Well said!!!! What a horrible thing to show people that HIS kind of mean spirited, arrogant attitude can win him the whole show! No Class at all!

[Okay Group Hug!]I agree with you on the fact that all of the designers will be successful in the niche that they have, Laura with the celebs, Michael with his hiphop groove, Jeffrey with his punksters and Uli with the Miami set. They will all be successful and they will all make it.

On another note, I'm seeing some real "hate" from one poster to another. C'mon guys, group hug.

I think the best designer won. At fashion week:

Michael's designs were most flattering to streetwalkers.
Laura's designs were great for the arm candy set.
Uli's designs fit the Sear's and JC Penny shoppers.
Jeffrey's designs looked progressive and very LA.

This competition is really about forward thinking. Jeffrey's designs are NOT run of the mill and his potential is limitless. His were the only consistently unique designs and the fact that he doesn't appeal to the 'average' woman, makes me like him even more. There are many of us women who don't want to look like we just stepped out of the pages of a catalog. Uli's designs do appeal to the masses, and you're more likely to run into many women wearing the same outfit!

I think many of Heidi's outfits look inappropriate. Too short, and not much different week to week.

I'd like to offer a suggestion for PR season 4. Please let all designers go to the second challenge. No one really gets a handle on what a designer is capable of in the first episode. After that, eliminate one each week as usual. A winner could still be picked in the first episode, but let them all get to show at least a second design.

Everyone keeps talking about how "fashion forward" Jeffrey's designs are. What exactly does that mean? Do you really think 20 years in the future Jeffrey's fashions are going to be in style? Really, only Uli and Laura are "fashion forward" in that sense - 20 years from now their designs can still be worn.

Ray, I guess the designers appearance is important to some, but to make derogatory remarks about the designers physical appearance is tacky and childish. Like I said, the mentality here is scary!
CraigsMalibu
Uli deserved to win. Her fashions were the best, hands down. Every one of her pieces was great! Jeffrey, although talented, had some bad pieces and did not deserve to win. Going into the finals I liked all of them, however Uli really stood apart from the rest. Shame on the judges for not being impartial. They clearly chose their favorite.

Carol, fashion forward means that the designer thinks outside the box. Laura's designs may be timeless, many of her dresses were beautiful, but she's limited. I wouldn't wear a dress that's 20 years old. Fabric degrades after awhile!

Project Runway proved once again that we live in an age where arrogance and sleaze are rewarded and taste and class are a thing of the past.
I guess since so many in America are tatooed and slouch around in clothes ready for the dumpster it was obvious Jeffrey would win.
I DONT LIKE HIM, but will admit that some of his looks were good. But some were horrific. And to make matters worse he is a total JERK.
But based on the criteria that is so prevalent on the show, ULI should have won. Her collection was very strong.
MIchael did show some immaturity and one of his outfits was the WORST I have seen on all three PR finals.
Of course Laura didn't win because Class, refinement and taste NEVER win anymore.
Her collection was the definition of beauty and skill.
It was in my oppinion the BEST collection of all 3 seasons.
Again I will repeat, if it's edgy and aimed at the tatoo generation it is considered good. Anything else is boring and dull.
My how far we have fallen.

Good points. Alas, times have changed. "Fashion" means showing as much skin as possible in as vulgar a way as possible. Just look at what goes down the red carpet these days. Beautiful clothes that are wearable and will appeal to the most people are not acceptable to PR. So what's the point of the show? Can't believe that Nina actually wants a Jeffrey spread in her magazine!
dcben1
Anger management, get a clue, I typed out a response.

The people who get anger management are ones who don't have control of their anger.

It seems to me that if you're trying to express your "professional" opinion on a board that a bunch of plus-sized woman with their cats read, then you are an amateur.

And how many lemons did YOU eat before you posted. No need to get so nasty. Not surprising that the trolls are out again.

Where can I find the bonus videos the show advertised at the end? (where Jeffrey was talking about Michael)
jillibeens
Ray, no offense taken. I just absolutely hate it when people get into slamming someone based on their physical appearance, in other words, a person's body type, color, weight, etc. I just made a general statement about the people here slamming the designers on how they look rather than on the fashions they created. This show is about the clothes after all, not Jeffrey's neck. It's a sign of immaturity and low class.
CavalliBoi
I totally agree with you Jeffery is the most horrible person ever to be on the show personality wise. I can not believe he said God was drunk and I want to know did he sell his soul to the devil to win this competition. He should have been eliminated a long time ago with the mom challenge. I do not know if i will even watch this show next season. I mean do they judge by only the challenge at hand or is there some kind of combined score. I personally do also belive Jeffery did not sew his own cloths because on t.v. I could see flaws and his past creations and these were flawless. Now the wigs could not have cost 600 dollars what is there some place in L.A. where there are little Swedish girls doing not but growing hair for wigs. I think they know he was winning from the beginning I mean what was up with the collar of his blazer for the jet sitter challenge.

LOL as well you should. What a crock.

Disgusting! the whole thing is rigged and crooked. Uli should have won--by far. Who would wear the trashy and unflattering mallrat wear that Jeffrey produced? That's not fashion; it's jailbait skankwear.
And Project Runway is not about fashion, it's about immature, irritating, ruthless neurotics yapping at each other in a sharkpool with a few nice and talented real designers thrown to them as bait.
What a disappointment!
misterfluffy
I just started watching PR this season. I fell in love with it.
I was so excited for tonight's episode!
NOW???
I will never watch it again.
How they could choose jeffrey's ill conceived, poorly made (no matter how much help he got), distasteful clothing over the other designers is a travesty.

Michael, who has been such an inspiration all season dropped the ball when he went too '70s. I think his win with the hot pants look got stuck in his mind. His opening designs were lovely though.

Uli was wonderful. Her collection was cohesive, expressive, well made and lovely. just like her.

Laura, even though people love to hate her, has a true talent and showed us a line of clothing that was COUTURE. Each piece was a classic and breathtaking.

Uli or Laura should have won.

I believe that Nina didn't want Laura to win and Michael didn't want Uli to win. Tim Gunn wanted Jeffrey to win with his sad sack story. I am sure his input was considered.

Maybe they are trying to appeal to a new audience... one that doesn't appreciate quality, taste, manners and basic human decency.

Jeffrey SHOULD HAVE BEEN AUFED MONTHS AGO.

For him to win??

Bye bye PR for me!
vgskye
out of all the designers, why in the world did they choose jeffery!!! his designs were boring, and i really dont think that his collection was flattering for women. Ulis and Lauras designs were absolutely wonderful and even though i was rallying for Micheal, i think his designs were not up to par...overall I think Uli or Laura should have won it

Beautiful clothes that are wearable and will appeal to the most people are not acceptable to PR. So what's the point of the show? Can't believe that Nina actually wants a Jeffrey spread in her magazine!

Hey,hey, his Pam Grier outfit was hot!I used to go to a theatre that alternated Kung Fu movies with blaxploitation films, and Michael captured her look very well! But I agree that times have changed. As a kid I read the large size Vogue faithfully.Marisa Berenson,Lauren Hutton,Iman,Betsy Johnson all seemed so larger than life. When did fashion become a weekly TV fix?

Ohhh...I LOVED his Pam Grier outfit...
I was so sad at his collection...

I think he was great at taking directions...but maybe not so experienced at coming up with a whole collection with no input

Iz kewl.Tho sometimes itseems the whole world is fueled by bad taste and funky attitude.I need a tictac....

I'm sorry to burst all you Jeffrey fan's bubbles, but the only reason he remained on the show is becuase of the producer's power. The final decisions of judging all had to go through them

That is NOT correct.

WRYYYYYYYYYYY

Judges. The hell.

Heidi, you say you would wear EVERYTHING in Uli's line, and you give her so much credit, then pick Jeffrey? Seriously, THE HELL were you thinking.

I guarntee one thing: Uli will get bigger than Jeffrey. Wider range, better clothes, bigger market. BIG mastake, Judges. Big. HUGE.

I got into this show after my spouse forced me to watch it week after week. Now, I am posting out of desperation because it is the only reasonable (though hopelessly slim) chance I have to impart a message that Laura What's-her-name might actually see. My only other option would be to stake out Mid-town, but stalking ain't my style. Now, between Laura and Jeffrey Sebelia, I could really not care less who won. I wish them well, but it's a TV show. Anyway, the crux of my comment is this: Laura is almost certainly personality disordered, and appears to have very deep conflicts about her own competitive impulses. Her denial of her intent to attack Jeffery Sebelia via her accusation about his outsourcing work is stunning and very nearly delusional. As an example, the woman actually said "I never questioned [Jeffrey's] integrity." Is she certain that she understands the phrase she used? In most parts of the Western world, accusing someone of cheating is tantamount to questioning their integrity. As another example, after the announcement that Jeffrey did not cheat, her identification with him ("I was saying 'Jeffrey, don't cry, don't cry' under my breath...") was childishly transparent-- this is a popular tactic used in girl's primary schools. Jesus, if she has good friends, someone among them has to tell her to get a shrink. This "doing/undoing", this ambivalence with hostility, this passive-aggressive tendency fits neatly with her meticulous, aka anally-retentive nature. Definite traits of OCD. So it comes to this: Laura honey, they make meds, they make meds. Try a maximum level dose of Lexapro for 2-4 weeks and see what it does. Might loosen up the jaws... maybe even let you unclench for a while.

I watch the show because I love the creation process. I don't get caught up in the scripted drama. So many here take it personally. How strange.
This show is produced by Hollyweird. Need I say more? LOL Times change, styles change, taste changes. It's a sign of old age if we try to hold on too tightly to the past. There have been elegant classy styles in every generation. It just depends on who's doing the marketing. Style is in the eye of the beholder.

[I guess since so many in America are tatooed and slouch around in clothes ready for the dumpster it was obvious Jeffrey would win.
But based on the criteria that is so prevalent on the show, ULI should have won. Her collection was very strong.
.

Carol, fashion forward means that the designer thinks outside the box. Laura's designs may be timeless, many of her dresses were beautiful, but she's limited. I wouldn't wear a dress that's 20 years old. Fabric degrades after awhile!

True in some cases, but I've got dresses my mother wore when when was first married(54 years ago!). She had a beautiful blue wool serge suit and the style is timeless. I always wanted to wear her wedding dress, but right now couldn't fit it. If you take good care of clothes that are well made, they will last a long time. Look at how many vintage clothing shops there are.

Great TV show, it honors creativity and craftsmanship, and should be inspiring to many people to pursue their own.

It seems that no one has said what seems obvious to me: There is no way for the producers to confirm whether or not Jeffrey--or any of the other three--cheated. The whole "we checked the receipts VERY carefully" thing is a sham.

The receipts will be for materials, and for any work that has been admittedly outsourced, such as pleating and whatever else they're allowed to outsource. For the sewing, there will be no receipts, whether they did their own work or not.

All Jeffrey had to do was buy the materials, and then have other people, whether paid or unpaid, help him. Nothing in the receipts would indicate whether he did or didn't do this. The only way to confirm that these 4 did their own work would be to do what they do in the other weeks of the show--lock them in a room and film them.

Once you send them home for two months, you're on the honor system, and there's no way around that.

Did he cheat or didn't he? No one will ever know, but neither will we ever know whether Laura, Uli, or Michael did. Or the Fashion Week contestants of any of the other seasons.

But it's all in good fun, and I will DEFINITELY watch subsequent seasons.

I'm sorry but there was absolutely no way that Jeffery deserved to win!!! PR should be embarrased with there choice!!! I'm really in shock because it wasn't even close. Uli or Laura were the clear winners! They knocked Michael's collection for being too sexy well Jeffery's collection was too weird. It will never sell. The only positive thing that's actually rather sad is that Michael, Laura, and Uli will all have much more success in the fashion world then Jeffery will!!! I have nothing against him he simply DID NOT DESERVE to win!!! I think everyone's right in saying the sob story won. It's very sad and PR should be truly embarrassed with their decision!!!!!!
