Hey Tank!, How U doin?!?!, Great show huh, I love all the design, talk about really showing their individuality! Bravo to all of them!
OT** Have you seen Jeff's website?, love his men's Apparel for Fall! Love those Tees!
I have seen his website and he's got some really great clothes for the younger crowd. I loved some of the clothes in his show - that blazer with the leather pants was great! It reminded me of Crissy Hynde from the Pretenders!
I found out this afternoon that my mother (in her 60's) and my older sister have been watching PR when I said the kids and I were up late last night watching a show and explained. She said "OMG! Who won?!" and when I told her she was thrilled, as was my sister. They love Jeffrey and I have to admit that shocked even me! LOL!
Well to be honest I thought Uli got the cat in the bag but It seems like the cat clawed its way out...and found Jeff...lol
IMO I think they deserve to be neck to neck although ALL the collections showed were great those 2 showed versatility and creative concepts/garments .
**Yes, everytime I visit my sister in L.A. usually go to The Metro Park Stores to see what the up and coming urban styles, I guess they have a tough competition now, I would definitely buy some of Jeff's stuff for those TGIF nights!

So much uglyness and hate going on here. No one on these boards should be bringing in God or any other belief. Such hypocricy is mind blowing. You do not know the true person of who you bash so much. Only a sliver of what TV producers have betrayed them as. Artists come in all kinds of packages. Some may not be as pretty as you like but, when you open them up beautiful things can come out. and vice versa.
And as for Jeffery cheating: Any addict will tell you, if he did cheat his sobriety is over. The pain and guilt of it would be to much and using again is the only thing to make it better. He had more to lose in his life, than some silly TV show compatition. Not worth it in a million years. Like him or not there is no way he did it. And yes I am talking from experience.
Sooooo if he didn't cheat why did his mother say he had outside help??
To Jeffrey's mom, outside help could be the pleating. How do you know that is not what she meant ?
Outside help could mean many things - some legal and some not. Unless you have pictures to prove that the outside help was not legal, the case is closed.

I have to admit, I was astounded at the choice. I turned off the boob toob as soon as the decision was announced and then thought about it. Jeffrey was my least of all - in fact, not at all, favorite - I just couldn't come up with ANYONE else I was really excited about (Unlike last season, where I only saw the last half and really loved Daniel's work). And the whole thing with Jeffrey's vindication, Laura suddenly sounding like she was all hearts and flowers and Jeffrey trying to look like a really participating member of the human race, just finally got to me. But the kicker was the judges total ambivalence. It seemed, IMHO and to my admittedly biased eyes, that the decision was half-heated at best. Not a one of them seemed even remotely excited by the choice they were making. I haven't read any blogs or Tim's take yet & will definitely not view Jeffrey's exit interview as I have no wish to subject myself to any more of his self-serving venom, but I remember last year when Michael Kors told Daniel (as Daniel was Auffed) that he, Daniel, should call Michael if he wanted a job - and stressed that he really meant it. There was none of that involvement, that desire to promote a new designer in his fledgling efforts, in this group. I am very afraid that Bravo has lowered itself to the level of many 'reality' shows that seek only to tittilate. When Top Chef finished last season, someone posted that it was all orchestrated & in my gullible way, I didn't want to believe it - but Project Runway has proven it true. Sadly, sadly true. I do plan to watch Top Chef this time around - (after all, to paraphrase Lady MacBeth - cooked is cooked and can not be uncooked) but if I come to believe the same, I will say adios there too and have to revert (HORRORS!!!!) to basic network TV for my silly creature amusements. Maybe I can start taping soaps again - Hmmmm - how DOES that VCR work? Anyhow, I sure wish Alison & Kayne had been around for the finale - now THAT would have been something!!
As the real (I am only a poor 'from away' transplant) Mainers say, 'See Ya'

One thing that has not been mentioned here, is how all the "styles" of the designers are merely a reflection on the cultural environment from where they came from. Laura comes from Vogue magazine New York. MIchael from the hip hop streets of Atlanta. Uli from the tropical climes of Miami. And Jeff from the crack streets of LA.
All of the designers need to expand their cultural environments which will broaden the range of their designs. Don't stay in your safe niche. Of all the designers of the runway clothes, only Jeff tried to expand his range by including the long blueish dress using prints similiar to Uli's work. While everyone hated it, I could see it as a pool wrapper over a bathing suit at a pool party.
My view on current definition of "fashion" is where one or more garment on the runway makes you think, I just have to have that THIS year - because next year is new designs that they want you to run out and buy a new garment again. Fashion does not want you to continue wearing the same garment for many years in the future as they want you always wanting to buy something new. How else can they make money? It's like they only want fashion to be IN today and OUT tomorrow.
Not being a Jeffrey fan, I must admit that there were parts of his designs which were current, trendy, smart and sassy, even if only a technique on a particular garment was edgy enough to reproduce well into other clothes. So in essence, it does not have to be the entire garment that is a winner - just the elements.
So Jeff, use your money to broaden your cultural background maybe by taking a trip around the world and looking at other clothes. Michael, skip walking the streets of Atlanta (and I bet your mom did not teach you some of those hip hop dis-respectable words you use) and go to the Hamptons and see what clothes they wear. And yes Uli - perhaps you should move to New York for a change in perspective. And Laura, while I love the glamour of your clothes, Vogue magazine styles need to change so perhaps you need a vacation to Miami.

Gotta say that I thought Uli did great showing her diversity after seeing so many of the same twisted, braided, things on the regular show. I did love her lavendar dress tho it was gorgeous! I think it was a toss-up for the 2 honestly and I don't know how they decided but I thought it was because of the colorful materials (the stripes) in Jeffrey's collection that made his stand out.

Wow, it took me forever to read through all the posts. This is my first time posting, but I did want to comment on one thing. I can understand why Laura questioned Jeffrey. His work was mediocre at best as far as exection during the show. I know things are rushed, but I do not blame her. I may not like Laura's attitude, but I really thought her clothing line was the most cohesive and very well made. I do not think she got enough credit. I thought Uli's was nice, but a little boring. I would never have worn any of Jeffreys stuff. What I have noticed by looking at other runway designs is that what makes it to the main stream off the rack is a toned down version. I can't wait to see how that might get interpreted in Jeffrey's line.
Just a thought.

My point is that the high waist dresses/shirts are definitely in style and that Heidi wore them A LOT and so did Laura. So if someone doesn't like that cut they basically are saying Laura and Heidi had poor taste..... Not really a competition just a validation of style trends.

Seriously, I am terribly sorry to all who feel cheated, deceived and mislead by this so-called reality program. As we have all come to realize (well, not even close to all but…), the actual winner(s) of this production were the producers.
Might I be patronizing enough to suggest that a few (Read: very, very, very many of you) who have watched the program and written on these boards would do well to take a little time away from your fashions, and back away from your television sets long enough to pick up a copy of a book – any book - on the art of persuasive communication?
There was this old dude, older than me even, with one of those cool one-word names, who talked about effective communication. His rhetorical theories are still the standard and have not been improved upon - at all - to this day.
The dude’s name was Aristotle, and he invented the ‘proofs’ for persuasive communication, which demand an appeal to ethos, pathos and logos without ad homen attack.
If you follow the dude’s theory you will be much, much more credible and effective in making your points and convincing others that they are valid.
Please make your appeals (arguments) based upon ethics, emotion and logic. And never, ever resort to personal attack.
You can be darn sure PR executives heard of this dude and use his techniques even though he died thousands of years ago. Thank you for allowing me to add these words.

Just jumping in here. Found a quote today from Stanley Tucci(great actor). "If you find that thing you love, it doesn't necessarily matter whether you do it well or not - you just need to do it." Thought it was interesting in regards to the contestants on PR. Some were very talented, and some only marginally so. But they are all doing what they love to do. I would add to the quote that you should try to do the best you can.

Hmm I recall Heidi stating that one of his dresses would have been appropriate if the model was milking a cow, and he had a similar one in his final collection. The Judges stated they did not like some of his collection and that it did not all fit, then at the end they gave him the win, with no emotion in their eyes or voices. I think the producers had the final vote, not the judges. Too bad. His style will last a season or two and that's it, with minimal sales - he is not a MAJOR designer in any shape or form. Then it's back to the rockers and afraid to be real goth clients. His "style" has been done so many times, and for many, many years, and done better by others imo. In the public eye, he did not win. His sales will show that. Looking forward to seeing the other 3 designer's collections for years to come in better stores across the country.

I really don't understand the judges. Jeffrey's stuff made even rail thin models look fat! What normal woman would want to wear that stuff? They also said they didn't like his two blue dresses so they didn't even like his entire collection. Heidi says all of Laura's is stunning and looks like a $30,000 collection. She also says she would wear everything Uli made and Nina says Uli's stuff is great and will sell for sure. So why vote for the really strange looking stuff almost no one will wear? Do they only consider it fashion if it looks weird? Or do the editors cut out so much stuff that we get every comment out of context?

How dare you! If you want to make a comment about my feelings about Jeffrey's work than by all means do so but don't make a judgement of me when you know nothing of who I am! I happen to adore tattoos for one and hold nothing against anyone who has them. I'm not even going to bother with the rest of your attempt to judge me. Stick to people's comments and what they really say and stop judging me just because I disagree with you! I NEVER said ANYTHING about his looks so don't YOU judge people and be prejudice. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! I don't give a rat's a** about their families....we're here talking about clothing! We're talking about fashion! I don't care how much any of those people's families love them or don't love them.....we're judging them on their clothing designs. And I personally along with many others apparently do not like Jeffrey's designs....period!!!

My My, a little touchy are we. If you had read my reply to your own statements you will see that I did say "you people" meaning you and OTHERS on the board. If you read your original post, you did mention how much you liked cookie cutter, available every where fashions. I was also replying to qotes from others that say Jeffery did not deserve to win because of his personality and looks. I also did not judge you and your feelings. I simply was stating my own feelings about Jeffery's look. You just happened to be the post I attached my reply to.

(original post)
I'm shocked.... I've tried very hard to understand what the judges were thinking, read opinions here and elsewhere and I just don't get it. Ultimately, after all the shows, after all the designs I do not recall ONE of these esteemed judges saying that they would either wear one of Jeffrey's garments or in Michael Kors case that he would put it on a gf or wife. How many times did Heidi say she would wear things the other three designed. Ditto with Nina and many of the guest judges.
Is there something wrong with solid design style that people know is yours? I love Lauren, JonesNY, Anne Taylor because they are classic and appeal to me. I don't look for trendy, growing, changing, blah blah blah..... I look for quality. If I want trendy I'll go to the H&M or any regular department store brand! There is a huge market for the elegance Laura shows, the subtle free-spiritedness of Uli, even Michael's across the board stuff (he actually showed more "full line" stuff than anyone!).
For those who like Jeffrey and are happy for him, congrats. Ultimately though, save yourself some money. Wait a few months after his line comes out and then check the clearance racks. That is where you'll find his stuff. His designs are not mainstream or high level niche enough to sell and I can foresee a huge sale coming. end of quote

Jeffery won because of his talent. You people did not want him to win because of his foul mouth and scary looks. I think his tattoos are wonderful and expressive. He did'nt have a worse mouth than any of the others. They all swore constantly. You just notice Jeffery more because he looks different. As for his collection, it was great! This is not a contest for cookie cutter outfits. The crap you see in the mall, just has a designers name attatched to it. It is not their work. They have teams working on stuff for the masses. Every designer on the show has talent and different tastes. I thought Uli's was beautiful also, but not for me. Laura has had some lovely dresses, but I have no where to wear them. Michales line was way to hoochie momma for me, but yes he is a nice guy. That doesn't mean he should have won. The judges saw something in their choice. And I think it was Jeffery's versatility. He can do mens, he can do womens, he can do funky and he can do pretty. Hell, he could do kids even. My son would love to have something done by him. Don't hate because of his looks. Thats being prejudice. He has a family for a reason. There is something there you dont see, but his wife does and his son doesn't seem to mind because its love that matters.
Jeffery congrats on your win!

LAURA......LOUD AND WRONG.........YOU ARE SO JEALOUS ABOUT LOSING EARLIER ON TO jEFFERY, IN CHALLENGES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR STRONG SUITE. SHE IS SUCH A LIER SAYING THAT SHE DIDN'T WANT JEFF TO BE KICK OFF. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT SHE DID. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO FRUEDIAN PYSCOLOGY.
See? I told you all of my dad's fans are crackheads!
The same people bitchin and moanin about Laura bringing up concerns are the same people who would do the same thing if they suspected someone of cheating. I can't believe these vocal people would just sit by and let someone cheat, whether it's Jeffrey or not.
I still am so confused as to why people dislike Laura. Ithink they are the jealous people. Or young people who represents an older generation. Or, people who haven't grown up yet to discern maturity from Peter Pans who talk badly about everyone who won a competition.

I HAVE TO KNOW!!!! What song played during Jeffreys show @ Fashion Week! Great song - anyone know?
the song is called swing by Lifter.
More importantly, though, what was Uli's song?

They said - they didn't think the 2 blue dress were cohesive with the collection.
They did not say they did not like the dresses.
Actually they said they were horrible dresses. At least Fern Mallis did, and she has ten times more credence in the fashion industry than Heidi or Nina.

I will watch the rerun. I do know that no one liked his long dress - open in the front.

They didn't like one of his dresses but they liked his whole collection, good argument there, real bad decision on their parts. Oh wait, Nina is an editor for a multi-million dollar fashion magazine and michael kors has won multiple design awards. And the CREATOR of fashion week liked it too.
You're right, bad decision. Creating trash, good one too, who do you know puts zippers on their seams outside their dress? Have you ever seen a dress like the red polka-dotted one? The Blazer was divine, definitely worked with the pants.
Have I ever seen a dress like the polka dotted red one?Yeah!2 yrs ago Betsy Johnson collection. Also stop hatin' so.Your boy won.For now.Til he hits a snag then everyone else will be his 'downfall'.And Thierry Mugler did zipper dresses many years ago. He's not innovative!
So the experts are wrong and you're right.
Get a clue.
I have a clue...that you have need of therapy.
Ha!

sorry I think you are right, that is the only one that I can recall all 3 saying that they did not like. I think Fern mallis never said that, only as you say, that two of the dresses did not seem to belong in the collection. Frankly I thought they were both fine. I was not especially crazy about the floor length dress that they did hate but I didnt think it was awful. I have it recorded on DVD so I will watch it.

Anger management, get a clue, I typed out a response.
The people who get anger management are ones who don't have control of their anger.
It seems to me that if you're trying to express your "professional" opinion on a board that a bunch of plus-sized woman with their cats read, then you are an amateur.
LOL don't you just love it when someone you think is a d-bag opens their mouth and removes all doubt? Amazing.
I think I love you.ROFL
I second that love! ;p

I have a clue...that you have need of therapy. And many of the people on here,plus-size and other, have very valid opinions, but aren't hateful or rude about them.Still, courtesy is something that u and Jeffrey both lack in,so I think I'll just say g'night and you can play with yourself....which,come to think of it,sounds like your life.....
Woo Hoo..I'd high five you...but my fingers are chicken greasyyyyy...
You ask me not to generalize you yet you're making yourself a sterotype..don't talk about chicken grease, it just solidifies my argument.
What that anyone who eats chicken is a loser?
Get a grip.
