Just to play the devil's advocate here, but Cliff may have immunity but that doesn't stop him from messing up the works to try and get one of the most talented out. I like Cliff; I think he has what it takes to make it all the way. but he may be remembering that this is a game and will do what it takes to win.

I watched the second showing tonight. Noticed that Elia & Cliff didn't think Mike's lobster dish was fancy enough. But, it was actually a good catering dish. You need good, simple dishes for that type of event. Sam was smart and listened to Betty. She's a solid caterer and knew what dishes would work. Elia should have listened to Mia's suggestions.
I wonder if Cliff was playing game strategy tonight. He really didn't make all that many suggestions. It was like he was giving Elia plenty of rope to hang herself. Cliff's a professional and he wouldn't sabotage his cooking. But, he certainly was helping either. Letting the group fail would have been good gamemanship.

Then he made some snarky ass comment about Marcel's personality being "because he's only 5'2." What a snake! God!
Plus I bet he didn't share the knives... lol... I hope he either straightens his act up or goes home. He's NO Top Chef.

"sour grapes"....The nerve of you if you are referring to Mia. It is obvious that Cliff has issues, especially with Mia. Just as Tom? (the judge) said, Mia was not directing her anger at Ellia, but towards Cliff. If anything, Cliff threw Mia under the proverbial bus. I had a lot of respect for him until this episode. I feel he sold himself and Mia out---how low can you go Cliff? How typical Cliff.

Nope Puppet your Right Zip already had that conclusion....Cliff was out to Fu8k people tonight....I know alot of people don't like Marcel but last week even though he had emunity he still tried to win the next round. This time around Cliff tried to take over..Not a big fan of Mia ...but Cliff did not listen to her at all kept saying ugh yeah right uh no....I think Elia was intimidated by Cliff.. Mike basically said FU to Cliff and Mia agreed hense the surf and turff canopie....I give Mike credit as well as Mia. Cliff could of slid this round but he really did try to screw some of the contestants and it back fired...Elia was going....Thank God Cliff obviously has a detachable pen*s or Mia would have castrated him!

I am new to the board, but I have to agree that Mike has remained in the game too long for it to be simply luck. After all his cooking "didn't suck" which apparently beats out some of his peer's disasters. While he did forget the eggs for the breakfast he was on good terms with the others so he was able to get eggs from his fellow chefs. He was smart enough to use pre-cooked chicken to get the job done. During the Thanksgiving episode he made 5 different dishes, two of which were praised. He hasn't shown the same level of sophistication or artistry as some of the others which means he probably won't win, but I think his presence in the game so far is no fluke, either. He has remained on good terms with most everyone, and works at whatever needs to be done.
Great post! I totally agree with you. Mike is talented. It's no fluke.

His cavalier attitude has definitely made for interesting conversations and many of his dishes have been very appealing. He has definitely stepped it up. Is he a TC? No. But talented in his own right I do believe.
Didn't someone say... or maybe I read it on MySpace... he's selling real estate right now? That's curious to me after being on a cooking show. Hope his "bad" attitude on TV didn't ruin his career... that would suck!

I may have missed it. But, I didn't see a shot of Ted Allen and Ilan standing side by side. I think most people expected some kind of scene or at least a comment. There is a resemblence between the two men. But, Ilan seems to have copied the glasses perfectly.
