Hi, and welcome to the Bravo message boards thread for Top Chef's Episode 208, "Holiday Spirit". In this episode, the chefs are split into two teams, each of which will cater a table at the holiday party on the Warner Brothers lot. (This episode was actually filmed in the summer in southern California, so that snow decorating the lot is definitely fake.) What's the better strategy: making lots of food, but only a few food choices, or making only a little food, but lots of food choices? We'll find out...
Oh, and the Judges Table at the end of this episode is a doozy. One of the chefs has a major case of sour grapes. Just warning you.
Believe it or not, this episode wraps up Top Chef for 2006! The next new episode will air Wednesday January 3, 2007, and it will be fifteen minutes longer than usual -- so those of you who might be recording it with TiVo's or VCR's, please take note! It's also really good, probably the best Top Chef episode of the season, in this Bravo peon's personal opinion.
Also, FYI, we're running a Top Chef Season 2 marathon on Christmas Day (all 8 episodes that have aired so far) and a Top Chef Season 1 marathon on December 27th (all episodes except the reunion). Again, make with the TiVos, if you want.

Pressure brings out the best and worse. I didn't like Elia at all until recently. She's still not my favorite but she has grown on me a bit. I'm pulling for Sam.

Unfortunately, it looks like they're going to send Mike home. Mia really has issues. It's admirable that she overcame so much, but, she's really neurotically egotistical, and insecure at the same time. She reduces things to black this, and black that... even with CLIFF! She has issues, and she should go.
She'll probably stay, though.
I like Mike. I will be sad if he goes. It seems like he's the most underestimated soul.
Mia really exceeded Betty's minor hissy fits with that major F-this and F-that! It's so unprofessional to talk like that. It's so... forgive me... but, it's so ghetto. It's a shame, because, she has probably overcame a lot, and should be a role model for success. Instead, she's angry, hostile, bitter and miserable.
