Sam, the hard-on and the spoof blog.

Don't know either, but it's a marvy movie title.

Is it anything like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe?

LOL. That would easily translate as Marcel, Betty and the Bathroom.

If I wasn't so interested in finding out what happend to Mikey (we went to high school together), I would've turned the show off. If Mikey had been eliminated tonight, I don't think I would've finished watching this season.

Owww I can't wait to see the show.

I really think Ilan is part of the syndrome..you know the kidnapped persons syndrome......Stockholm???
He has been brainwashed by Betty and the others I think....Betty played mom to him and took him to her breast..Did you see how he kissed her a when she left???....Betty does have an unhealthy obsession with Marcel methinks.
Disliking Marcel will make Ilan fit in with the rest
and not be an outcast himeslf...Well..that's one theory....lol

I don't know...He seems like a sweet kid mostly.

IF Marcel is being rude...obnoxious and downright
selfish then he does not deserve their respect
or friendship....I say IF as we just don't know for sure.

BUT .....This has been going on since day one...so I am just shaking my head as to why.

Shaking my head a lot..I only know none of us can come to clear conclusions.....We really just don't know.

I think it's just plain envy. If Marcel weren't so talented, no one would give him the time of day. Most great chefs (all great creatives really) provoke a lot of envy until they are established, sometimes not even then. It's almost a necessary by-product of the isolation creativity demands. It's polar opposite is Rachel Ray,....popular as hell and making money over fist....and as she admits, just an everyday cook.
Whether MArcel wil be a great chef remains to be seen, but of all the chefs on the show, he's the one with the most promise, regardless of his non-conformist personality.

Oh, please. People have been posting stuff from the chefs here for awhile now, so why do you feel the need to single me out? ...

I haven't read anybody posting a begging plea to vote in his favor. I mean, come on--he has something financially to gain from this. It doesn't seem right, especially since the other chefs aren't doing it. But then, it IS Sam's behind-the-back style.

I also haven't read anybody posting what is obviously a spoiler from one of the contestants. That in and of itself is just plain wrong, especially without the "spoiler alert" warning.

You know, I've already apologized to those I inadvertently offended, so I'm really not going to discuss it further. Accept my apology or don't, but to continue to browbeat me for something I've already apologized for is excessive.

First off IC, was not offended OR upset in any way by your post. However, to all of you whining that Sam is the only one begging for votes. Could it be that the others have not been contacted? Just because IC happened to hear from Sam and he put in a plug for himself doesn't mean that the other cheftestants wouldn't do it too if they have the chance. You know what I mean jelly bean???

Siz Josie and Ilan already have on the Blogs both Brillkes and Guilty's....Sam did not personally come here Lia talked with him via phone or e-mail and gave us the info she was not trying to sway our thinking just reporting....Hell I'm torn I love Mikey, Otto, Josie and Carlos so what will my voting be? Lia did not give us a spoiler...lol
They all get paid quite well for being on the show even without the prize money!

I knew there was someone else that had been contacted, just couldn't remember who, Ilan and Josie (didn't know about her). My point is, don't blame IC for what Sam asked for. All IC did was copy and paste what was sent to her. If people are upset about it thinking she was putting a plug for Sam, (which never even crossed my mind. Have always said I didn't care for Sam and have been voting for someone else, reguardless of what anyone else requested), then those people need to get over it. Good grief..I pooped out now. Thought I was being nice but must not have worded very well.

Well....Hmmm..Not sure I agree there.
His food hasn't been all that great really.
It looks beautiful....but.....

You know Tom said that when Stephen left last year...peeps were clapping and Tom knew nothing of it.

If Marcel is... as they say..... constantly walking and talking a superior attitude ad nauseum and throw in rude... well then..they would want to smack him.

I agree with them on this count..too much foam.
No soul.

I like Marcel...I have seen adorable things there.
I want to tell him to chill.

When he dissed Sam at the judges table after the team win ,
I think he lost all their respect.

He really didn't need to do that although he did
have the right.
Maybe he's jealous of Sam......Sam has won a lot.
I wish they would be kinder to him ..but these guys aren't the sensitive types...lol

The dynamics here are complicated and truly fascinating!

It really is amazing how we can all watch the same show and see such different things.
No wonder eye witness testimony gets thrown out of court so much.

Many of the other chefs are doing exactly what Sam did, asking fans to vote for them. This includes chefs already off the show and current ones.

I gave a vote to Carlos, a vote to Josie, 9 votes to Sam and 9 votes to Ilan.

brillke

Other than this posting (and Actor said Josie and Ilan had too)I didn't know about anyone else asking for votes. Personally, what ANY of them says makes no difference to me. I voted for Carlos. I liked him the best sooooo, that is who I voted for. Everyone will vote for THEIR fave.
IronChef
To everyone who spoke up for me and on my behalf today, thank you; it was and is truly appreciated. I was starting to feel a little like the R. Nixon of "Samgate."

I really didn't post what I did to be sneaky, snakey, underhanded or collusive. I messaged Sam, I heard back from him, and perhaps I was too delighted by it that I neglected to pick apart every single word (and every word between the lines too) before sharing what I didn't even begin to think could be construed as inappropriate.

I still do not think I posted inappropriately, but if some felt I'd crossed the lines of propriety, then it was necessary to apologise, which I did. Nor do I think Sam's bid for votes was or is any different than what I've seen posted by a number of the other chefs on MySpace.

Now, I just hope we can all put this in the past and have done with it. I don't like being the pariah, ok? I'm just sure as shizz not gonna post the other messages about the rest of what went down.

(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding ...

**** with eyes squinted shut and "cheeks" pressed tight while saying to self - Don't ask! Don't ask! *******

I'm sorry, but I am a glutton for punishment! Have a TC toddy, put it in 15 words or less, nobody will fuss at you for catching me up, and then I will go to the corner and sit in time out until I learn how to follow directions.

Oh, did I mention that I need the dirt on everyone ELSE? I can kinda figure out Marcel all on my own.

LMAO Me too!! Years ago there was a sit-com with Loni Anderson and Jack Elam. Can't remember the name, but he was her crusty old uncle and her rich hubby had just bit the dust. She was serving a fancy dinner with him, his buddy and some snobby folks and oysters in the half shell were served. I checked the Discovery Channel episode guide and it looks like they have it listed as Geoduck Farmer. It will reair on Jan 20 at 4pm eastern. If you can tape it...do. It is the funniest thing ever. Here is a link with a drawing... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoduck

Me? Its the eyes and smile that get me every time. This guy is a doll for sure. Will have to take a look at that episode. It looks like a great one.

I know y'all haven't missed me, but can anyone get me quickly up to date? I need to know what's going on with everyone here - I have been watching TC - nothing else to do but watch BRAVO and do my school paperwork.

Welcome back, 2P! Of course we missed you, but now that you and your cranky beast of a computer are with us again, things can really get rockin'!

Well, as far as me, I'm apparently the new creative force behind "Sam Talbot: The Man, The Myth, The Machiavellian Manifesto (Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Duck Fat & Ranch)"

TC and politics make strange bedfellows, y'know!

Other than that, though, I'm pretty same-old-same-old.

Again, it's great to have you back!

Lia

Thanks! This computer better not be old and cranky - its new. The only problem is the old one had some of my most recent (and much needed) lessons and lesson plans on it and I couldn't recover them. I now have to re-create them - BUMMER!!

I will put my (VERY LATE) 2 cents in about this last episode.

FINALLY someone fixed a dish that had food on it that I would eat. Elia made some chicken without seafood, fungus or other wierd foriegn stuff. Yes, I know, I am a VERY picky eater who is married to a man who eats everything - I swear some of those things he eats are still moving. I can't stand her feeesh, but her chicken looked GOOD!

And to keep certain people from complaining this is too OT....they even have a 'chef' show him how they are cooked.

Does the chef show him how to cook so his goose doesn't get cooked ?

Is Amazon the person who hugs trees? Nothing wrong with hugging trees believe me. Just curious so I thought I would ask.

I think the person who hugged tree was very indignant and obstinant enough to come here with her original name...That's just my opinion tho...*shrug*

***blushing****

Y'all are making me feel "sniff" like family!

Does anyone have any cold - er weather to send my way? We spent Christmas in shorts and flip-flops here at my house and it was 78 degrees yesterday. Only 68 today, but it's still JANUARY and I would love to use my fireplace. It is almost firepit challenge hot here.

You are probably correct. Just similar in technique.

We love our IRON CHEF.

Speaking of Dirty Jobs and a certain person's secret heart throb, it is on now on Discovery Channel on the East coast, though it is not the ducky episode.

I do not believe for one minute that Cliff is colorblind. He knew exactly what color he pulled before comparing it to anything else.

I respectfully disagree with that...big time!

I agree with your disagreement. That would be simply too strange to make up. Cliff said something to the effect that, over the years, he's learned that certain appearances of food indicated the color. My cousin is color blind, and he sees everything in shades of brown: darker, lighter, more rich, etc., but they are basically what we who are not color blind would call "brown."

Yahoo has a preview of next show's QF...to make a snack using Kraft brand condiments (alas, more dumbing down)...Ilan is his usual insecure mean self....one can only imagine what sort of family he came from.

Ilan's ability to be snippy is pretty amazing, isn't it? Have to laugh that, after all of the bitchy comments about Marcel's foam, Ilan actually is making a foam.

(And, yes, I still say [don't hate me, y'all] "Vote For Sammy!")

ROFLMAO! I'm a horticulturist and do plant propagation (and a few other horticulture-related things), but I've never been called a tree-hugger before.

Now just in good fun folks, Ilan does say it's a homage to Marcel, but listening to Mikey describe his dish I was thinking, he is off the Vicodin...get back on the drugs brother!
