Betty never instigated anything "from day 1." ....
nasty and petty to Betty who was being the better person putting her differences aside just trying to help and Marcel was the rude one and they all saw it and were disgusted with his lack of professionalism, again. ....
There is no jealousy over Marcel. While everyone around him was being turned off by his attitude Marcel didnt even win anything for the first half of the season. What was there to be jealous of when he was at the bottom all the time, never a threat of real competition or someone to envy. Rather it was the other way around. Marcel is insecure and constantly overplays his "talent" and brags about nonsense like molecular gastronomy to cover his insecurities and lack of real useful skill. Most people wouldnt pay to eat the food he's been making, and more would still be left hungry or searching for something with better flavor given his tiny portion size and over emphasis on looks above all else. His redundant foams, fecal-like plate smearings, fancy presentations over flavors and his constant boasting followed by consistent failures is making himself the object of ridicule and the joke of the kitchen. He acts like hes going to win and he tells everyone he is going to win and he hasnt won anything until more talented people left more room open for him. What about the "My Space" account of Marcel
ratting Mikey out about all the six-packs that
they've been hiding with the money that's
left over ? This is the real drama part.
Last season's cast partied too, but, obviously
there's some rule bending that the lynch gang
has done since the first show. They bend the
rules, but, hate Marcel because he ratted them
out on some things.
They're behaving in pack mentality. It brings
out the worse in them, for real. It's scary.
I think Frank was serious, when threatening
the guy, and I think Ilan and Sam suck for
their ignorance and prejudice.
I'd love to see that addressed, if that's what
happens next week.
They're so indignant, but, Marcel is playing
by the rules, not letting the bullying make
him quit, and saw Mike taking vicodans
and beer. It's ridiculous. These guys have
been so rotten to Marcel. They're dead
wrong, imo.
IMO if you are a arrogant ass, which Marcel has been all season, you reap what you sew. Its that simple. There are people in life just like Marcel that you can walk away from and not deal with. Thats not an option for people on this show.
Honestly I am dreaming of a sweet reverse Mohawk for weasel boy. He could win the whole contest and still never live that down. Classic.
Dream away! Whatever floats your boat.
Poor Marcel wanted to cut his hair, at
some point, but, he was supposedly asked
not to, for continuity in production.
If that's funny, to shave this sweet guy's
head, after all the other rotten things
those cruel beer guzzlers have done...
Why so much hate towards Marcel? I swear
I don't see it, at all. He's kind of cool, in his
own sweet way. I don't see arrogance, just
defensiveness when he's attacked.
I'm with you. I don't remember Marcel doing one thing to bring on this unmitigated hate. He's more willing to help out than ANY of the others. After watching week after week, it's difficult to not feel protective about him now. If nothing else, he can take solace in the fact that while the rest of them are looking like unbelievable jerks on national television, he has managed to go from being made out to be the early production villain to the late production underdog that you now feel compelled to pull for, unless you're a juvenile, bullying, thug yourself.
Well Woodsbaker can you tell us where you saw all the raw footage from the show so we can all come to the same educated supported by evidence based opinion?
No thought so...
The contestants on last season said flat out Shrek was way worse then what was shown and 90% of what made them hate her was left off the show.
I believe were seeing the same thing here. Given the build up to next weeks "incident" its obvious they have been editing MC Foamy in a very sympathetic way. I am certain that there is overwhelming evidence why everyone hates him.
Seriously whats more likely. Almost everyone spontaniously Hates Marcel for no reason or He has carried him self in a way that causes the majority of people in a unaturally closed situation to become past fed up with him.
The "Last kid in Dodgeball" comment is evidence of this...
Hell even Elia busted MC Foamy on trying to cop credit for Cliffs BBQ sauce.
Exactly what I've been saying. The producers need Marcel to last a few more episodes just for the drama. When his true colors are revealed on TV, there's going to be a lot about his toxic personality revealed.

And away they would all go, and good riddance. Behaving like summer camp middle-schoolers. Who'd hire such immature brats?
If immature Marcel can get hired, anyone can get hired.
Let's see...San is out of a job and begging for monmey, Ilan is a line cook at a Tapas bar and Marcel is a master chef working for perhaps the greatest chef living. Speaks for itself.
Someone has probably responded to this, Marcel is a Master Cook not Master Chef.
He knows that but he just wants to prop up Marcel. He's been called out many times for incorrectly describing Marcel as a Master Chef.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder who he's talking to? You know this might sound silly, but if someone DID shave Marcel's head legally that would be an assault. Unwanted contact.
Gosh, I hate waiting! I wanna see what happens! LOL...I'm so impatient.
I thought the same thing. Shaving Marcel's head would be assult but it would be great TV.
The producers could have been hiding Marcel's toxic personality to lead into the end of the season. Make people feel bad for him then when he get's his head shaved, they really feel bad for him. THen zing, next episode, his toxic personality comes out. Clever editing creates stories and drama leading to ratings.

After reading LeeAnn's blog from last week, I
had more confidence in Marcel's actual character,
apart from all the character assassination from
the goons in the hit squad that I think Betty
instigated from Day 1.
For you and all the Marcel lovers. Do yourself a favor. Bravo is replaying all this seasons episodes frequently, watch them and pay attention this time. Marcel is not innocent.
Betty never instigated anything "from day 1." Know that and get it straight. Ilan had a problem with Marcel since the first minutes of the first episode. Watch it again. Watch it twice if you have to. He clearly admitted wanting to smack him then and there after Marcel wanted to impress him with his knives. Also pay very very close attention to the first elimination challenge. COUNT and SEE who says they didnt like Marcel's dish and try to find anywhere when Betty jumped in to instigate opinions against him in the first episode. These are reasons why I have no respect for a Marcel lover and their pitiful excuses in his defense, it makes them looked warped like they have no idea what they are talking about. Watch the rest of the episodes too. Marcel was being arrogant all along trying to rub in his so called greatness on everyone else (heres a tip: watch what MARCEL SAYS when Betty says he rubs her the wrong way for the very first time and see who started things first. Betty bit her tongue until the TGIF episode).
The ridiculous big bad Betty board hoopla here started with the TGIFriday challenge when Marcel was WHINING like a BABY because MICHAEL turned down the temperature on fryer. Even AFTER Marcel was done he continued to WHINE about it after the fact when it served no purpose and then Betty had the balls to tell him to shut up and get over it and to shut up and let Cliff work instead of distracting him with more whining. It seems clear Marcel was out of line and Betty put him in his place. Then MARCEL was the juvenile one sitting up front trying to intimidate Betty while she was cooking and when she was having problems did Betty wine like Marcel? NO she adapted and moved on, and WON. Did Betty do anything to try and mess up Marcel in that challenge when he was cooking? NO! What did Cliff say about the situation? If he were Betty he would have walked over and punched Marcel in the head, a statement of violence Cliff repeated on the show more then once now. Now saying that is more extreme then anything Betty ever did on the show but Betty is such a meany isnt she Marcel loving hypocrites?
You want to talk instigators? Look at SAM. He was the one egging on Frank to do something about Marcel after the toiletry incident. And if Marcel didnt take so long in the bathroom no one would need to use the kitchen to brush their teeth in the first place. And no, no one should have to get up earlier just because Marcel is a bathroom hog. He needs to learn there are other people in the world, in the kitchen and under living conditions. Just more reasons why none of the others respect Marcel since he disrespected them constantly.
When you watch the episodes again pay close attention to what Marcel actually says and does to the others and in interviews. See how arrogant he is in each challenge, how he rubs it in that hes going to win even tho he fails and see how he treats everyone early on that got everyone to hate him so much. He keeps arguing and wanting to do everything his own way, which if they did they would have served asparagus to children and lost a challenge. It looked like he tried to sabotage Betty's crembrule since he was burning the sugar. Everyone blames her for that desert but who had the torch in their hands when the sugar burned? In the holiday catering party when everyone was praising Sam's leadership Marcel jumped in to say he really didnt need any leadership and just did his own thing to try and steal some of that praise for himself, that wasnt needed, warranted or necessary. That was Marcel being jealous and disrespectful again. That mentality is what instigated the real tension between Marcel and Sam and Marcel and Ilan that carried over to the next episodes. Marcel brought that on himself again by being in a team but trying to suck up the glory for himself when he didnt deserve it and THAT is whats off putting the rest. Ilan was out of line bashing Marcel's dish but he was correct, the judges pointed out the lack of lust overall anyway, and listen to the celebrity host's own words to the effect of the lust plate looking like it was made by someone who needs to [insert profanity here] and that is from someone who just met him and knows nothing of him. The way he snapped at Betty when she was offering to help him is what made all of them decide not to help him at all until he apologized. And they were right. If Colichio must pull his head out of his ass to make comments in his blog about Franks threats and their repercussions on staff then he should also point out Marcel's overall behavior is what lead to his coworkers refusing to work with him, something a TOP CHEF needs to pull off. Marcel was the one being nasty and petty to Betty who was being the better person putting her differences aside just trying to help and Marcel was the rude one and they all saw it and were disgusted with his lack of professionalism, again. And tonight's episode was another perfect example. Trying to take credit for everything when Cliff had to jump in and say he was involved too (with the sauce for the chicken that Marcel undercooked). Its seems like whenever the judges like something and Marcel learns of it he tries to stake claims on it to make himself look good. Thats insecurity folks. And Bad judges who cant see that now repeated more then once.
All you Marcel lovers are sick in the head. Sociopaths maybe. No sense of wrong or right. If all these people have a problem with Marcel after actually living and working with him I will go with all of their opinions rather then a few board posters who see minutes of Marcel a week and somehow miss all the arrogant and nasty things he does and act like he is flawless. Just reading these boards anyone can see how Marcel was ridiculed and made fun of (just how many pet names for his hair were there?) But then Betty spoke her mind honestly (something sociopaths hate/can never do themselves) and she was never two faced like some others are (direct the hate on them if you must) and everyone (sociopaths) hated her, see it fit to pick on Betty and started feeling sorry for Marcel suddenly (hypocritically).
There is no jealousy over Marcel. While everyone around him was being turned off by his attitude Marcel didnt even win anything for the first half of the season. What was there to be jealous of when he was at the bottom all the time, never a threat of real competition or someone to envy. Rather it was the other way around. WOW, didn't see that, but can't wait....since Ilan seems to be trying to impress Sam (or Sam is manipulating Ilan) would be funny if Sam had talked Ilan into doing something that got him sent home...both of them.
I have to say that I feel kind of bad for Mike tonight... again, he did not do or cook incorrectly,,, he just followed his "list" as directed by his leader. It was not his fault Sam and Ilan did not budget for wine nor was he the one working the front of the house and the person to insure that the table for the judges was clean and ready. For the first time this season, I really feel that the judges sent a person home not because he really deserved it but because they needed to keep other contestants even though they did not deserve to stay.
Agreed Fordman. Also, if you read the judges blogs, I think it was Padma that says they had $500 for food, $500 for restaurant supplies and $500 for decor. If Sam and Ilan did not budget for wine, and rules are in place, how was it going to be OK for Mike to use part of his $500 for wine? Isn't that considered food? And if so, why would he even THINK of buying wine with his left over money. That would be breaking the rules and we ALL know how well that goes over! I think Cliff should have been asked to pack his knives and go...he was a real punk tonight! JMO

Hey Folks
Did anyone else notice how Elia's hair seemed to be a bit.... different during the interview portions of the show?? It seemed too fluffed.. Also the headband to hold it back??
I also have been reading about how folks noticed Ilan's hoodie was pulled up, which he's done before but is doing on this show as well..
Sam was wearing a cap too during his interview..
I'm thinking that by the time they did the interview segment for this show's taping, the chefs had already shaved their heads and they needed to do something to keep the secret..
That's just what I'm thinking anyway.. Elia's hair in her interview segments had been bugging me during the show and when I saw how both Sam and Ilan were sporting covered heads, just got me wondering..

I disagree with what you said about Marcel. I have watched all the shows and there is simply no justification for what this group is doing to him. Do you think it's okay for Cliff to say 'send one of them home' to the judges referring to Elia and Marcel? None of them is any better than him and many of them are not as good as him from what I see. If it were up to me I would send home Cliff next, then little Ilan (who seems to think he's hot???) and Sammy third. I hope Elia wins because she has the most class and Marcel second. By the way I remember all the lying about Marcel that Sam has done on various shows. I suppose that is okay with you though. (Not a question, just my take.)

Just finished watching the first broadcast (which doesn't start until 10:00 p.m. PST here), and y'all are already talking about next week!
Before I head off to bed, I want to post my impressions from tonight's episode. I wish I had time to read everybody's posts first because y'all have good insights, but I'll catch up tomorrow...hopefully.
This will probably be a long post so I'll split it up.
I had suspected that others were helping him, especially last week, which would be logical since he was hurting so badly from his tooth extraction. It looks like Sam and Ilan have been carrying Mike, and I wonder if Mike sided with them against Marcel as part of one of Ilan's schemes: "Look, just side with us and we'll make sure you make it to Hawaii." However, when both Sam and Ilan became more insecure about their positions, Ilan complained about always having to tell Mike what to do. If you remember, I said that Mike's dish last week looked more like Ilan's style than Mike's. So I wonder if Mike--to stay in the competition--in effect became the Sam/Ilan butt-boy in their attacks on Marcel? Mike is so laid-back, it didn't make sense for him to be irritated by Marcel.
I also think that Ilan's focus on "getting Marcel" ended up harming himself. His attempt at getting Marcel by making a foamed Italian dressing showed that he didn't know what is necessary to make a foam, which things will foam and which won't. So that ended up making Ilan look childish, petty and inexperienced, to boot.
Already mentioned Ilan's scheming...his approaching Elia to get her in on the intrigue was just too dispicable. Obviously, Ilan doesn't believe that he can make it to Hawaii on his own skills. It's kinda like when Betty used for an excuse for her failed creme brulees, "Well, cutting edge isn't my thing." Thanks for telling us, Betty and Ilan, that you don't really have what it takes to be a top chef.
Hey Amazon! I agree on the "butt-boy" comment. I believe that is pretty close to what was going on. Also agree on Ilan making an ass of himself with the foam. However, Padma got a big laugh out of it on the tape, but in her blog, slammed Ilan for doing it...FLIP FLOP. JMO also.

Is it me or has the Betty hate intesified as the Marcel lovers try to distract attention from his actions?
Oh just wait till Cliffy takes a little off the top next week. It wouldn't surprise me to see them get Sally Struthers to stump for some Rogaine donations.
If Cliff does a little hair cutting, will Marcel cry? Will he have the backbone to pop Cliff like he says in his wannabe rap?
Since the producers want the drama Marcel causes, why not let Marcel and Cliff fight it out on the rooftop. The one that survives gets to stay and the other goes home.

Just jumping here to say two things...Personally, I find it much easier to read JustMe's all caps than some of the posts that take up a whole page with no break anywhere! Second, if you read any of the back posts, you would see that there is a REASON he uses caps...

I can't think of one reason to type in all capital letters, in effect, yelling everything that they post.
Please, enlighten me as to this "reason"?
Well, let's see. JUSTMEAOD has posted here, oh, about 1600 times. You, on the other hand, have 8 posts. Now, don't you think that if there weren't a good reason for JUSTMEAOD to post in caps it would have been dealt with, say, 1599 posts ago?
Think about it.

I thought it was a great dig. And at this point who cares about the quickfires because there isn't immunity at stake anymore.

I would highly doubt that Marcel has fought anything tougher than a cold, let alone popped someone. He's all talk.
Here's hoping that next week's episode ends liek a game of Clue.

I want to apologize on behalf of all Asians in America and around the world. That little dip ish chef is a disgrace and a embarrassment to Asians everywhere. His attitude/behavior/appearance is just sad. What planet is this guy from that he thinks he looks cool with that landing strip on his head. Landing strips usually accompany a vagina, which is exactly what he is. The guy is a big A-hole and Harold has already confirmed his cooking sucks. I don't even understand why they would have this guy as a guest judge.
Anyhow, the episode was a little disappointing. Nobody stepped up to the plate. The tempura looked really good. The burger looked good. Next week looks crazy. My guess is they shave Marcel's head or something. Who knows, can't wait. In many aspects I think the show is pretty cheesy but I can't get enough of it. I watch the reruns over and over and over. Maybe something is wrong with me. Padma is growing on me by the way. Her vocab has improved and she's easy on the eyes.

Good chance he realize too late they were both douches. Love him or hate him, I still think that Marcel has at least kept his cool on screen better than ANY of the others. Mike, I think, just got caught up in the heat of the "Marcel Moment" You sure didn't hear Ilan or Sam stick up for Mike. I still think Cliff should have gone. If rules are such a big issue, then the fact that there was $500 for each part of the restaurant should have been a clue NOT to use left over monies on wine from the monies for equipment. Correct?

Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder who he's talking to? You know this might sound silly, but if someone DID shave Marcel's head legally that would be an assault. Unwanted contact.
Gosh, I hate waiting! I wanna see what happens! LOL...I'm so impatient.
Actually, it would be Battery. Physical contact is Battery. The threat of harm is Assault. Assault and Battery is threating someone (assault) and then actually touching them without consent (battery). Now, it may be construed different in various states but I saw you lived down the road from me. I am with you to. I can't wait until next week.
