I agree IC, too much fighting. I for one am done!! AND, if you want to say GOOOOOOO ILAN or GOOOOOOO SAM, or GOOOOOOO ELIA, I won't rake you over anything!! Too be quite honest, I am not positive just WHO I want to win any more. Yes, I think what happened in the loft that night was horrible by ANY standards. Yes, I think sending Cliff home was right, he did put his hands on Marcel. Yes, I think the others should have been disaplined. How much or in what way, I don't know, but they should have been held accounable for their part. Do I think Marcel should win just because he was the "leper" of the group? Maybe. I say that because of all the people, he was the one that kept on track. He didn't let it all change how he was in the kitchen. Is he a better cook? Will never know that because I am not there to taste it. We will all have to hope that Tom, Gail, Padma and the guest judge pick the TOP CHEF on their cooking skills and ability and not on how much drama or controversy they dealt with. I have, in the past rooted for Marcel just because he WAS being picked on so much. That does not make a fair contest. However, wil defend anyones right to root for their fave, no matter who it is.

I've never really gotten the Marcel-hair thing, either. It carried over onto the boards, too.

Yup grew up in theatre worked at the Alley when I was a teenager in Houston had a chance to join equity never did...I do get paid here in NOLA for theatre but union wise I'm Sag/Aftra...We only have one equity house here in NOLA and since Katrina we lost alot of our theatres slowly coming back that is why I switched to Indie Films!

But you would travel to work in theatre? Do you usually get the going Equity rate or do you carry over your SAG/Aftra rate or do you go by whether you really want to d a show or not?

Ofcourse I would travel to do theatre if I felt the show was worth it...see the thing here in NOLA is it is a right to work state so even if I work equity it is min. scale Sag and Aftra have nothing to do with Theatre...even when I do theatre here I usually make more than the equity min..lol With Indie Films you usually work for less than SAG scale but you get points on the film in the back end and by points I mean a percentage of the film..so if a film is sold for say 4 mill and you have 2 points or 2% of the film you can easily make atleast 100 k. I think the average small scale Equity contract is what $350 a week for 9 performances a week? That breaks down to about 5-6 an hour not much money. If your an actor you do not do theatre for money lol you do it for the love of it! That is why you have so many poor actors lol...I'm just getting to the point after 40 years in this business that I might start makeing some money in INDIE FILMS...the thing that cracks me up is if my face does become familiar it took 40 years too get there..lol

Sounds like you are a night owl! Used to be until I got married. He goes to work so darn early, if I stayed up late would NEVER get any sleep. lol Yes, changing schedules does throw off our little babies. I thought the laser was totally pointless. The hollow slush balls were kinda neat but WAY more trouble than they were probably worth. I did like the corkscrew spoons with the fresh herbs wound in them. That was cool.
