This is apparently about me and aparently WhatAJoke's claims that I "lied." I never read those claims because I quit reading his/its posts before that. Far before his accusations of "lies" he had done nothing but attack me. It got old; I quit reading its posts.

Since I'm not posting to it anymore (because I don't believe it will get anywhere but feed it's odd obsession), that's all it has left. Only the very gullible would believe that, based on its past history, that he is concerned about "lies."

As far as his claims--anybody who reads his posts knows how he twists and "mischaracterizes." You want to believe I "lied"? Fine. Go for it. If you want to take the word of an obsessed stalker like WhatAJoke, then I don't believe there is any use trying to reason with you.

I'm not about to start reading its posts now, period. I believe it is unstable and its obsession with me is not something I want to encourage.

I used to compare WhatAJoke's obsession with me to having a piece of wet toiletpaper stuck to my shoe. But I'm comparing it to Ilan's obsession with Marcel now. It's in a different environment, but the obsession is still the same.

I am also not reading brillke's posts and the good lord only knows what she is spewing. I quit reading her posts because of her pages after pages after pages of unopposed attacks on me. I think she is at WhatAJoke's level now, and I think only the very gullible would believe what she posts. Her "mischaracterizations" are so extreme that they bear little resemblance to the truth.

When I put them on IGNORE I knew there would be several possible consequences.

One of them (which is what I hoped) is that they would become obsessed with another poster and shift their attentions elsewhere, the theory being that if you don't feed the troll it eventually goes elsewhere to hunt.

Another possibility is that they would be able to spew their bulls*it unopposed and that--as we've all learned from the Bush family's campaigns and our current administration in the White House--Hitler's Big Lie technique does work: If you repeat something often enough, even if it is a lie, it will be believed by the people.

It will be interesting to see how many believe what is being spewed by two obsessed posters.

IC, if you believe what these two obsessed posters are saying, then there is really nothing I can say to you.

I am really wishing at this point that KaniGirrrl would return because I would really like to know more about this little clique on this board. It seems that much of what she accused in her short--but memorable!!--time here was, indeed, true. I'd really like to compare notes with her.

Amazon this is my last post directed towards you and I sincerely hope you read it.

A similar incident such as this happened last season. Someone accused me of calling someone a Crackwhore. They had confussed me with someone esle. The exchane that resulted was indeed VERY heated. They went back checked knew they made a mistake and offered a sincere apology.

This was my responce.

I know its very difficult to admit when your wrong, especially when it comes after having a heated exchange with someone, so I especially value that you went back to check. For that I thank you, and consider this issue dead, and won't be spoken of by me. A mistake is a mistake and since were not looking for WMD's or a pomagranite its cool. Please do not let this stop you from posting here or ripping me as I try to walk a fine line between caustic, abrasive and wacky.
Again my thanks and there is no sarcasm in my responce either."

I left out that persons name because its not relevant.

If you had just admitted you were wrong it would have been over, done and not mentioned by me again.
I'm disapointed that you chose to act in the way you have.

There seems to be a need there to forever "pick at the scab" when it was just starting to heal, and I'm not sure why that is.

I only wish there was a "middle ground" or some space where those involved could meet and discuss the things that had become hurtful with respect, and maybe even find a way to overcome them.

I guess I'm starting to sound way too sappy for my own damn good, so I'll quit. Lord knows I'm not perfect, and I've been on the other end of this damnable "lecture" before, but I just don't want to see folks who have plausible but differing opinions who might eventually become respectful equals turn their backs on each other unneccessarily.

I don't remember who said it, but I believe in it to a degree: "Many great friendships begin with one small act of vengeance."

The problems arise on messageboards when the line is crossed and a poster goes from discussinig the issue to attacking the opposing poster.

I understand why people do it. Sometimes they attack because they are trolls and get a perverse thrill from disrupting a messageboard. Sometimes they do it because they are inexperienced. Sometimes they do it because they want to distract their opponent, who has the stronger position, into defending themselves. Sometimes it's because they are frustrated, have been argued into a corner, and can no longer defend their position with logically reasoned opinion.

I believe with WhatAJoke and now brilke it's a combination of the latter two reason.

I think there are also a lot of people on this message board who strongly supported Elia, Cliff, Sam or Ilan, are disappointed/angry over their actions and, instead of directing the anger at their cheftestant, are projecting it out to those who criticize what the chef did. They can't defend their cheftestant actions (or if they try, their reasons are easily refuted), so they turn their anger upon the poster criticizing their cheftestant.

I've been posting on messageboards, and working as moderators on messageboards, for easily over 15 years. I don't attack the poster unless they attack first, and in a way that I feel has to experience return fire to avoid a bigger calamity along the way. I usually give them the benefit of the doubt, figure it's been a tough day for them, and just skim past their posts, hoping that with a new day they will have gone back to normal.

I have purposely quit posting to WhatAJoke and brillke because I don't want to fuel their trollish behavior. They have continued to post page after page of unopposed attacks on me.

If I was reading these boards, I would think they were obsessed, unstable individuals.

I don't think there is a "middle ground" you can meet someone when they have descending into obsessed attackers.

I hope you can understand, as well, that when either of the two asks in a question about a situation involving me, that it's not a "rhetorical question." They are obviously far past that, and are seeking new ways to gouge at me, since I am no longer feeding their disruptive behavior. It then becomes an issue of responding to your opinion.

I hope you also understand that you also can play a role in continuing the board disruption by commenting about the behavior or actions of anyone involved.

As my mom often said, "Life's too short and the grave's too deep." If they can't see that, I can.

Don't know if I'll watch the new Design show, or if I'll post on the boards about it. There is a small, tight clickque here that--despite what I originally thought--really is not welcoming to newcomers.

I don't have to be part of a clique to enjoy a posting environment, but it becomes more problems than its worth when one or two of the clique have the power to align the rest against a newcomer.

I don't know Kani, and only had that one experience with her, but--from my point of view--much of what I remember her saying has turned out to be true.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughtful post.

I've never really gotten the Marcel-hair thing, either. It carried over onto the boards, too.

Ilan's hairstyle was what that dude on the Blowout show wore (or used to wear). I've seen lots of guys wear it.

I like people who think outside of the box, and who aren't afraid to do something nobody else is. I think Marcel's hairstyle is original, although it does remind me of Tom Waits (whom I adore).

Ian McShane!! That would be too cool. I always have liked him but grew "foolishly devoted" (damn! have to stop watching these reality shows...I've been watching the Grease/AG one) to him after seeing him in Deadwood. He was so powerful, it took my breath away. Do you think you'll get to meet him (if he takes the part).

I thought he had balls the size or oranges to take on the role of Al Swarigen. He said in an interview that part of the reason he took the role was because of the character but part of it was because he wanted to work with Milch.

Amazon not only meet him work with him if he takes the role we are offering him a butt full of cash...we shall see!

What an experience...hope it happens!

What is being ignored here is the fact that I am trying to NOT fuel the board disruption. I quit responding to WAJ and B's posts because they were nothing but attacks. They continued to attack me, when unopposed.

What is not being said here is that I have been continuously attacked now for days by two members of the clique, without anybody really calling them out on it.

to holster in a previous reply: yeah, I could always tell Chef Tom liked Stephen b/c he'd take up for him about crap and say, he was "young". I think stephen was incredibly innovative and his food was beautiful but...I am glad harold won.

I also hope there are no previous contestant guest judges in hawaii, not just b/c they'd single out marcel if possible, but last season, it really took away my enjoyment seeing them as the high rollers. they knew too much about the contestants foods to really be objective and personally, i'd have like to see how real high rollers would have voted

I can see where your resonse, Amazon, could have been misread as being disrespectful to actors as a profession and to Actor himself. Sometimes your humor is off. I know mine can be and I try to apologize when it's been misunderstood. But you seem unable to put yourself in someone else's shoes and try to ubderstand why they might misunderstand you...but come all guns blazing immediately and create hostility towards yourself where now existed prior.

The internet is an extremely imperfect mode of communication and demands extreme flexibilty.

You obviously may do as you wish, but Actor's response has validity, if only because your responses often can be read a number of ways.

As you said, everybody's response can be read a number of ways. And I'm not the only one who posts "blazing" posts here.

I thought I was posting a funny post. If someone posted to me, "Hey, I hear Brad and Angelina are moving to San Luis Obispo. Maybe you can set up a fajita cart in front of their home, sell fajitas to the crowds, put up pictures of the landscapes you've designed, and maybe they'll offer you a job landscaping their house, just to get you to move the cart down the road" I would NOT have taken offense. It is, in the first place, such a ludicrous situation. In the second place, I see no dishonor in selling food from a food cart. I see no dishonor in any job; it's the quality of your work that defines who you are.

I don't feel sensitive about my career or the work I do. I think Actor waaaaay overreacted. That's my opinion, and I can only base it on how I would react if someone had said a similar thing to me.

THEN....Ilan gets mad cause he needs a burner....he took up all 10. Is that why he wanted 2nd course???? ..What SHOULD have Marcel done??? ...

The thing about washing the vegetables...as I've said, the kitchen there is very, very small. If Cliff needed to wash the vegetables, why didn't he wash them and then remove them? To just leave them in a sink, in a kitchen with limited working space, is a major inconvenience to everybody.

For Cliff to say he was pissed over that is par for the course. Again, Cliff is the one who appears childish and immature here.

Yes, I think the producers are trying to spin this to the fantasyland stage. IMO, they wanted to show how the CrackPack was mad enough at Marcel to assault him, to try to lessen the backlash from the assault having occurred. Then, when their editing spin didn't work, they then tried to spin it off as a prank gone wrong.

And the Ilan/burner issue...if Ilan knew in advance that the kitchen facilities were so limited, and if he chose to go before Marcel, then there is always the possibility--given his obsession with Marcel--that he purposely chose a dish that would require a lot of burners and would limit Marcel's access to do his own course.

I doubt that they knew ahead of time that the galley was so small. But he may have conspired (we know Ilan's penchant for conspiring) with Sam/Cliff to go before Marcel, with the idea of inconveniencing Marcel where possible.

Both scenarios sound plausible, based on what we've seen of Ilan, his immaturity, and his obsession with Marcel.

But if they all got to the kitchen without knowing it would be so small, and Ilan's dish just happened to require all but one of the burners, then he really had no option but to use what he needed to in order to complete his course on time.

Someone said that some of the pans were empty and were just sitting on the rangetop, but I don't remember that.

I think their anger at Marcel for reminding them to close cabinet doors, etc. is in line with Cliff's anger about the vegetables in the sink. There are common courtesies that professionals perform when sharing galley facilities. That Marcel had to remind them of it made them look like they were not professional enough to remember to do it themselves...which is obviously the case.

I'm glad we are all in agreement about their unprofessional behavior and immature selfishness! haha. I woul dhope watching the shows would make them see that as stephen did, but I guess not.

well, I was looking at just that part of the episode again and it does look like at least two of the pans marcel is gesturing too are empty and one is a pot with a lid on it. i *think* he is just trying to ask about stuff that has been left there so if he can move it he can get to work. again, I could be wrong, it might have some sauce in it or something. but they look pretty empty to me and definetly don't have fideo in them.

i know it may sound crazy saying this, but after some of the exactness of last years "debates" about TC...on my Itunes vid it is at 19:58-the shot I am looking at.

Well, evidently Hawaii paid Bravo to come and film the finale there. If you've already taken the money, hard to back out.

that is what I was thinking too, but next season? it would just look bad for Collichio to let his prof. opinon be overrun like that and then come back for more. I guess unless he already signed a contract for 3rd season before this happened. Even then, I'm sure he could get out of it. and...if Bravo feels the show must go on then the show will go on. Chef Tom could have walked and believe you me, they would have found a "guest" judge to step in a take over. probably that guy they served tg dinner too.I know...I know, how can I not know his name! but I know who he is. anyway-point being, if tom feels that strongly about it, as he claims, I hope he turns them down for 3rd season, if at all possible.

personally, I think Sam "broke" at the restaraunt supply store b/c he isn't as nice as he tries to come off. I think that was for show. and Ilan saying Marcel drives him tosay things he wouldn't normally say to a person. I don't buy that either. he's simply childish. they are both hotties, imho, but not great people. I think Sam likes to be in charge and is used to people practically worshiping him. he isn't very humble at all.

also, anyone else notice this. it's pretty gross....almost the level of Ken putting "the finger in the sauce and in the mouth" as keller said! After sam asks marcel if he can help him and marcel says no, Sam bites or scrapes under his finger nail with his teeth and appears to spit it out. yuck!!! they must have really wanted to show that bit with marcel saying no to inspire drama to show that nail biting yuckiness, or am I alone in thinking that was not a good thing to do in the kitchen!

You posted some plenty hurtful things to me, Actor, things that I don't believe I deserved. My "clubbing" posts--until I started getting personally attacked--were for the show, producers, cheftestants, etc.

If you don't like the length of my posts, there isn't much I can do. I think a lot when I post, and it sometimes gets reflected in the lengths of the posts.

I've explained my reasons for teh IGNORED statement. If you can figure out a better solution, let me know, because before I started putting it on brillke was slamming me for not answering WAJ's posts when, in fact, I had quit reading them long before.

I don't like being singled out, especially when I've tried to not participate in the disruption.

Again, my apologies if I unintentionally disrespected you. It certainly wasn't my intention.

I don't know what Amazon's problem is but for me when you accuse someone of something that they haven't done or call someone lair then you cross a line.
I said my peace and even posted the responce I had to a similar situation I had last year in which there was an apology given. I'm dissapointed that Amazon can't bring herself to do so but that is entirely her problem.

I don't know if you've read the posts from the two on ignore or not, but if that kind of attention was always directed to you from the same poster(s), wouldn't you simply ignore their posts?

As I said, I haven't read WhatAJoke's posts for awhile now, but didn't note that in a tag line because I thought he would find another target once it became clear I wasn't participating in his game.

But then Brillke also started the constant attacks, and used (as one of her excuses to attack me) that I hadn't responded to WhatAJoke's questions, indicating that I hadn't done so because of some kind or another of personal fault in my character.

So I added the IGNORE tagline. On boards that have the "IGNORE" feature, this is quite common. It prevents confusion from other posters who don't understand why you don't respond to certain posts.

I seldom put posters on IGNORE. In fact, I've only done it 2 or 3 times in the past, on boards that had the IGNORE feature. Usually I just scroll past the attacking posters (like most people scroll past trolls), but on busy boards it's easier just use the IGNORE feature, if it's available.

Anyway, that's my reasoning for a solution to a problem.

I actually have been in that position before. Instead of posting to the rest of the board that I was ignoring certain people I did something you may not have thought about. I just ignored them.

I understand in an age where we advertise every thing we do this may not wash with you, but, if I'm that irked with someone, then why would I point out the folks I don't get along with? Give them free advertising, if you will.

It just seems kind of pointless. You are, in effect, letting people know that you can't deal with certain people. You are giving them the focal point of your post, and admitting their power over you.. What you say is incidental to your dislike of two posters.

Yup filming on the 3-4th on a short film for Steven Speilbergs show Back Lot...Have the lead in a Indie Film called The Master starting in Sept. We are still waiting to see if my last film Dead Girl makes it into South By Southwest Film Festival keeping my fingers crossed on that one would be cool cause I could see AI again. We shall see!

ALERT: We are getting an extra 15 minutes of the show tomorrow like "Seven" a couple weeks ago!! Be sure to check it out the 1st couple days; they edit it back down to one hour after that!! This had better be good!! I feel nothing complelling with this cast of characters!! There is nothing special about what they cook; most of it is what they've done in the past (especially Elia)!! She is no Top Chef!! Ilan and Sam are the best chefs, but they aren't presenting anything outside of the box as they say!! Marcel is all presentation!! Get over yourself dude!! Good luck to all!!

But a lot of those far-out styles, years later, start showing up in boutiques...modified, of course, but still the basic concept.

When Yves St Laurent came showed his "man's suit" but for women, it rocked the world. Now look--it's a standard in the business world.

What is being ignored here is the fact that I am trying to NOT fuel the board disruption. I quit responding to WAJ and B's posts because they were nothing but attacks. They continued to attack me, when unopposed.

What is worse is that they've reined in members of their clique to fuel their board disruption.

Sorry I wasn't yelling directly at you..I was usng you to post...I'm just tired of this...when I joined the boards back in PR world everyone was sooo nice to me and welcoming...but then it got crazy and people got there feelings hurt...so due to that and my wrting for a blog I decided I wouldn't do alot with the TC board but as the season's progressed I've been popping back in now and then to see what's going on...Well, I feel like I'm back at high school this clique doesn't like this person and that person said Boo! and that person...it's rediculous and last night I got side swiped by someone trying to teach you a lesson...that's it. I really believed that most people on this bored were intelligent, kind hearted, and here to share in the fun...but leaving people out or tryng to embarass people or hurt their feelings ...I didn't like it in high school and I don't like it now. I don't know what you, if you did something...personally if I wanted to read drama I'd go to the library...I'm not going to go searching through hundreds of pages to try to figure out who's right...so, anyway, I just wanted to apologize for looking like I was yelling at you.

Do that Amazon, I tell you it was amazing...looked more like a science lab than a kitchen. He and his crew all wore head sets with microphones too. Almost like a shuttle launch..lol Don't miss it when it comes on again, although hard to do since everyone shows repeats for weeks!

Owww Keckler's recap is SCATHING this week.

And..well savvy..Don't wanna' say funny cause he isn't too amused.

I am still trying to process why this was so hard to watch..One thing...If Cliff had said ANYTHING to Marcel...Like..hey man we're gonna shave your head and was laughing...it would have been different for me...The silence is what gets me.Creepy!!!

Of COURSE Ilans screaming Come on come on... wasn't too fun to watch either.

IF they hadn't all been telling us how much they hated Marcel all season...if he had been doing that to Sam...it wouldn't look as bad...But would Cliff dare to do that to Sam????

I think NOT which is why it just doesn't seem like some cutesy prank to me...Hey..Sam never shaved his head.Wouldn't he be the one next to get held down in a MOCK head shaving ritual if it was such a cute boyish prank???
About the camera..Cliff's slip about a plan..I don't know.

Do I think Cliff wanted to hurt Marcel????...Not physically...no....But that sort of power 'prank' always hurts the 'victim' unless you are really good friends.

It did what it intended to do.......Humiliate someone.
It wouldn't even had been as bad if they had not continued...Following him and throwing chocolate bars on him....YUCK!!!!

Agree on your assessment of the crack pots. I agree with the person who said to send Sam, Ilan and Elia home and bring back the 3 previously dismissed chefs. Assembling 2 knockout dishes out of mid air and getting butchered by a dentist and then getting eliminated for not buying bread plates? Than Clippergate with footage obviously taken after the attack.

Throwing the sponsors chocolate bars at a contestant...Than a full extra day take before Judges table to make extra confessionals. I think the judges should have seen the video tape before making their decsision, Chef Eric would have walked out. and that dinner Seafood, Seafod, Seafood, Beef than a few berries and chocolate.

I dont like Clams, Scallops, Salmon or rare beef.. I would have gone home hungry.. Where was the salad. vegetables side dishes???? At least the told them to buy wine this time.. Where there a budget for this episode? And why after cliff was DQ did they make it appear only 2 were going to Hawaii?? This season is WACK!

That's a good point. The producers are jackasses and ruining a good show. time for some new producers.

The thing about washing the vegetables...as I've said, the kitchen there is very, very small. If Cliff needed to wash the vegetables, why didn't he wash them and then remove them? To just leave them in a sink, in a kitchen with limited working space, is a major inconvenience to everybody.

For Cliff to say he was pissed over that is par for the course. Again, Cliff is the one who appears childish and immature here.

Yes, I think the producers are trying to spin this to the fantasyland stage. IMO, they wanted to show how the CrackPack was mad enough at Marcel to assault him, to try to lessen the backlash from the assault having occurred. Then, when their editing spin didn't work, they then tried to spin it off as a prank gone wrong.

And the Ilan/burner issue...if Ilan knew in advance that the kitchen facilities were so limited, and if he chose to go before Marcel, then there is always the possibility--given his obsession with Marcel--that he purposely chose a dish that would require a lot of burners and would limit Marcel's access to do his own course.

I doubt that they knew ahead of time that the galley was so small. But he may have conspired (we know Ilan's penchant for conspiring) with Sam/Cliff to go before Marcel, with the idea of inconveniencing Marcel where possible.

Both scenarios sound plausible, based on what we've seen of Ilan, his immaturity, and his obsession with Marcel.

But if they all got to the kitchen without knowing it would be so small, and Ilan's dish just happened to require all but one of the burners, then he really had no option but to use what he needed to in order to complete his course on time.

Someone said that some of the pans were empty and were just sitting on the rangetop, but I don't remember that.

I think their anger at Marcel for reminding them to close cabinet doors, etc. is in line with Cliff's anger about the vegetables in the sink. There are common courtesies that professionals perform when sharing galley facilities. That Marcel had to remind them of it made them look like they were not professional enough to remember to do it themselves...which is obviously the case.

This is very similar to when Marcel refused to take his eggs out of the pan so Ilan could make breakfast. Where the hate for Marcel's actions?

AWWW, thank Kristl. Appreciate the compliment. I too am going to miss this show. They all piss me off to no end, but how crazy are we for getting so wrapped up with people who REALLY don't affect our lives...lol I wish there would be a reunion show too. But only if they don't spend the whole time bashing Marcel. That would make me turn it off. I had not problem with any of the regular judges. Tom, Gail or Padma. I don't think it really matters what any of them are wearing, unless it is flamable and they are standing on a burner..

I do really really really hope next year resembles season 1!!! This year was not a true TOP CHEF kind of show, as some say, was more like Jerry Springer. LOL

BTW read the description of the position. It sounds alot like a glorified Line Cook.

Maybe Ilan is finally trying to apologize. Remember when Padma apologized to Marcel at judges' table for what happened to him? Marcel replied "No apology necessary from you." The key words there were "from you." Did you see the other contestants' faces when he said that? I think the only one who actually did apologize was Cliff.

perhaps it was Ilan who cooked nothing or served nerthing or whatever it was that Chef Tom said in the preview and he is asking why they should keep him and not boot him and he says b/c Marcel is an A$$ and not a team player, a "virgin" etc and tom says, we aren't talking about your attitude in the kitchen but your cooking....that is my hope anyway. also, on that note, if someone didn't serve something or cook something when they were supposed to they darn well better go home since dave had to last year when the cirque de freaks preferred his dishes to the others. sorry, i'm still scarred

to holster in a previous reply: yeah, I could always tell Chef Tom liked Stephen b/c he'd take up for him about crap and say, he was "young". I think stephen was incredibly innovative and his food was beautiful but...I am glad harold won.

I also hope there are no previous contestant guest judges in hawaii, not just b/c they'd single out marcel if possible, but last season, it really took away my enjoyment seeing them as the high rollers. they knew too much about the contestants foods to really be objective and personally, i'd have like to see how real high rollers would have voted

Bringing back the eliminated contestants seems to be a given. Soneone on TWOP says that Betty and some of the other eliminated were seen in Hawaii.
