Yes, I still cannot stand Tom C for his constant bashing of Dave.
Dave did an excellent job last season and also he was a big team player in the team challenges.
That's why I do not care what Tom says about the Marcel incident, to me the man has not credibility.
How many times did Tom rewrite history last season in his blog?
Too many to count as far as I'm concerned.
Ummm I am SO sorry...But Dave had some issues..he was freeking crying all the time....lol
I KNOW you will all hate me for this but I didn't think Dave wasall that great. I didn't hate him and he could be cute but he was a bit over the top at times.
Lee Ann and Tiffany could cook circles around him in MHO!!!
I mean if we're gonna get on Elia for losing it all the time.
Tom may have been reacting to things we did not see in all fairness.
He also drank a whole lot too.
I didn't think Tom was that brutal towards him.I godda go listen again...All I'm saying is Dave wasn't a saint either.
I sensed a nasty undercurrent there.
Please don't hurl knives at me...... Please!!!!
well, not to get into bed with you either, but i agree. Although i never liked the way Tom seemed to pick on Dave and diss him in public, like he did to Michael, I though Dave was overly histrionic (although histrionic is already overly). Kind of a gay male form of Betty (though not as extremely mean)...comfort food and a slightly rough around the edges baitch...and yes, he is someone's baitch!

Anyway, Dave being emotional is irrelelvant to Tom's bashing, also his emotions never factored into his dish nor did it hurt any of his team in the wedding/ restaurant challenges.
I think Tom's an ass toward Dave for some reason and his bias shows. I have no respect for that.

I always thought it seeemd that way anyway b/c when someone who was really good generally or that they liked did something really not good, they let it slide. like when tiffany made the cake and people found eggshells in it. they weren't about to send her home over it. or harold and that absolutely AWFUL idea for a street dish? I apologize if I've been somehow cryptic or unncessarily vague. My Grandmother--poetess, fiction writer, wordsmith and librarian extraordinaire, as well as the woman who singlehandedly engendered a love of the English language in me, and who encouraged me to pursue a degree in English--was rushed to the hospital tonight after a series of strokes.
I'm still here because my employer has determined that my input on a "presidential" article appearing tomorrow morning is a project more important than my family. You'll forgive me, I hope, if I don't comment further on that. All I can say is that my request to fly home today has been refused.
I do apologize, though, if my comments tonight are even more ascerbic than usual. It's not you, believe me, so I hope you'll forgive me if I seem out of sorts.
Lia,
I'm sorry about your grandma. I know how that feels. In 1982 I couldn't go see my grandpa before he died (and he only lived 2 hours from here) for much the same reasons. When Grandma got sick in 1996, I made sure I was there and told the PTB (powers that be) they could kiss my fat white ass and fire me, but I was going. It is amazing what a little age can do for a person!
As soon as you can, just go. They can find someone else or you can email/fax/mail it. The electronic age is a wonderful thing.
You are in my prayers.
Zip/Pam
Thank you so much, Pam! And you're absolutely right, I'm going to get there just as soon as I humanly can!

So, you think marcel is lying in the interview when he says the girl specifically asked whether he was the guy from TopChef?
No the girl may have infact asked that, I don't know. I do believe however that there was a lot being left out between that question and a bottle hitting his head. As a person who's face has been on the reciveing end of a fair bit of abuse 30 stiches seems like a large exageration as well. Also I had a friend who got hit with a bottle in the face and was cut and got 60K in court because of it so if he really did nothing the police would be invoved at the very least.

LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!! It was the last one before he died. He was trying to get away from the "Animal House" characture he was perfect for. Everytime we watch Animal House, I get so pissed. He is in front of the sorority house looking around and hopping back & forth (I can't describe that scene any better), I laugh so hard and then I get pissed at him for being so stupid. Well I don't think he is ever going to admit to being vetod. That would kill his rep. The only reason why he is letting this veto out in public is that he comes off looking like a moral champion of the wronged, not a judge who's decision was trumped in favor of drama.
And the producers only said that he couldn't send everyone home and end the contest right there. I bet as long as he finished the allotted programming the producers would have no problem with him just hosing the rest of them and make sure Marcel wins if he wanted to.

Ok I see your point, but most people are going to see that comparison and coupel it with all the "Ilan the stalker" garbage that has been posted here and put two and two togeahter.
As far as disgracing Long Island, thats a bit of a stretch. I don't know how anyone takes one person on a reality TV show and draws a conclusion about an entire reagon of a state unless there is a pre-exsisting stigma that being re-enforced.
Well, he is stalking marcel, isn't he? i mean Ilan says in an interview that he still talks to Marcel and in another interview, Marcel says Ilan's been leaving all these messages that Marcel doesn't return because of the way Ilan treated him.
Isn't that a form of stalking...persistent unwanted attention?
First your assuming that Marcel is telling the truth and Ilan is lieing. Its plainly a he said he said situation. And even if he is telling the truth its hardly stalking. More like harrassment.
Repeated harassment, even by phone, is a form of stalking.
Stalking is a legal term for repeated harassment or other forms of invasion of a person's privacy in a manner that causes fear to its target. Statutes vary between jurisdiction but may include such acts as:
* repeated physical following;
* unwanted contact (by letter or other means of communication);
* observing a person's actions closely for an extended period of time; or
* contacting family members, friends, or associates of a target inappropriately
* cyberstalking
So are you saying Marcel is afraid of Ilan? LOL thats a stretch.
fear of sociopathic behavior in anyone is healthy.

The laughing aside I have asked myself the same question.
I have a VERY hard time believeing that a strange woman smashed a bottle in his face at a bar , that it was entirely top chef motivated, and no charges were filed.
Also I had a friend who got hit with a bottle in the face and was cut and got 60K in court because of it so if he really did nothing the police would be invoved at the very least.
but how do you know no charges were filed? it's just pure speculation.
and there are PLENTY of examples of celebrities being targetted by the dimmest among us...those who take tv for reality. not hard to believe at all...esp the way bravo defined his character....and the way they showed the active hatred of Betty, Frank, Sam and Ilan etc towards him.
We would have heard about this much earlier through the press and not from Marcel. Every newspaper and clelebrity related blog in the country has people going over the police blotters looking for celebrity related stories.
This would have been a fairly intersting bit of news.
Hell we don't even know if it was a bottle or not. He could have been punched or elbowed by someone else, perhaps that girl's boyfriend? But being hit by a bottle sounds much more outragous/victimizing.
Just my opinion, but I don't buy it.

I think once you come from the perspective of him being younger..and not agewise...he really has endearing qualities...I KNOW...someone is going to smash me for saying. But how can you watch him on the roof rapping and then think of doing him physical harm...maybe because I'm a mom of a boy I am able to see people in their growth process but...Marcel is just immature in certain ways...we all hae those issues...some people just pray in other's weaknesses...
Who would smash you????
It was charming...lol
He is charming ...To me at least at times he is..I like sweet sensitive guys yet I also like them to be macho too....When he smacked that camera ....I was like good for you!!!
he did have cause to in my eyes.
BTW.My B/F was not a jerk...It was 10 years of a very complicated realtionship..He loved me deeply and I him.I kid ..as he was not a rock star type at all..A VERY serious musician but I saw him that way.I was his biggest groupie. He NEVER cheated or drank or did any bad stuff lke that to me..He just went crazy....Literally!!!Part of the reason is that he was a failure at making a living at his craft.
I wanted a real job and the music..He is not capable of that....Oy!!!!
REALLY f&ucked up childhood and lots of other problems ....But much beauty too.....After 10 years..I still miss him so sorry for the sobs y'all....We only broke up around August( I think) for good......Ah well..Such is life..I swear you can never get both.Strong and take care of you or sensitive and listen to you!!!!...Or rarely.
I was joking about the jerk thing...sorry...We've all had someone like that in our lives. One of my friends once said to me after I got dumped by a guy I considered really important in my life..."Sometimes the people we are most in love with and passionate about cannot be the people we end up with...it's too hard." He was right to an extent. So that happened to you but sometimes you have to put you first in situations like that. Self preservation should always win out.
Again sorry about the jerk thing...

The fact is there is no police report. Where is it? Given this incident has been known since the 21st someone had to have found it right?

Oh please, he was in a PUBLIC nightclub with dozens of other people around and you still want to say it wasn't true or try to make an excuse for what could easily be verified by the other people at the club/Marcels friends- oh I know you'll say their liars too/and the hospital where he got the stitches.
And we all know Marcels propensity towards turning the other cheek and letting bygones be bygones or assh*les be assh*les right?
Maybe that is why no charges were filed or there was nothing about it in the paper. UGH!!!
That's it for me, have to close this board off before I start spewing molten lava out of my ears.

Thanks, everyone, for your inquiries on my Grandmother. She's in stable condition at this point, and is now expected to recover, however she's becoming less and less "herself" with each successive stroke. I'm planning on going to Ohio to see her this weekend, since her condition has been upgraded and there's not as much urgency. It was definitely a scare, though!
Thanks again for your kind words, and for asking about how she's doing.
