Welcome to the Bravo message boards for "Shear Genius" Episode 102. Tonight, the hair stylists first face their short-cut challenge: take their brunette mannequin heads and dye them blonde! (They need to be something called "Level 8 blonde", to be specific, which I personally think could be a good band name. But I digress.)

The top three stylists from that challenge get first dibs at the elimination challenge: take gorgeous models and give them the celebrity hairstyles of their choice -- the models' choice, that is. And some of the models choose celebrities who are so very, very wrong for their hair color and hair texture and skin tone...

(Hint: Raven-haired women should not attempt to transform themselves into platinum blonde pop stars. Especially not when their poor stylists are working on a tight two hour schedule...)

Okay, this bit o' fluff show is actually quite entertaining. I just loooove Dr. Boogie. His enthusiasm is infectious, especially when he pats himself on the shoulder in self-congratulation. Nice to see contestants with a healthy dose of personality for a change.

Gotta say, this episode was very interesting but really weird. All those brunettes who expected to be blond and came out redheads. Makes you appreciate the chemical torture a woman submits herself to if she goes from brunette to blond.

Hilarious that the woman who was the hair colorist didn't finish and her customer was a soggy mess.

Blah, so I have yet to watch the new episode, but it's coming on in an hour anyways. Atleast this show is more entertaining than Top Design, although a monkey with banana would even be more entertaining than that mess.

Well, this is definitely a step up from a monkey with a banana. The contestants have funny, bitchy, quirky, braggart-y and outgoing personalities, so they're a hoot to watch. The judges just can't control their faces, so we get to see them smiling derisively or vainly trying to hide their "Oh, crap, is that ever God-awful" expressions.

And Rene Fris is hilarious with his attempt to sound breezily, metrosexually stylish while speaking through his strangled Danish accent. "Na weer gawan thu thzee yawr Kwaaashuns" had me rolling on the floor.

Who'da thunk that hair could be funny?

Boy, I just have to learn how to do that!

It is too bad about Jim, but his model's hair looked exactly the same before and after except for the weird new color. Funny how the token old guy usually gets eliminated early on in these shows.
