YES!!! And I do find it sickening. I mean... it would have been one thing to show it how it happened & then everyone could eventually get some closure. But to drag this sh!t out week after week after week with all of these adds on TV alluding to something being about Doug: only to watch the episode & to see the last minute of it is dedicated to him really makes me wonder about the sanity & decency of these people.

At least the last 4 (& now next week is when they will finally put him to rest) episodes have advertised that they would be about Doug. It's a disgrace to say, in the least, that they didn't just pay tribute to him without using his death to promote their show. *totally disgusted* mad.gif Way to go Jackie... wooooooo

SOOOOO GLAD I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED MH biggrin.gif

WITH FOCUS ON DOUG'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS CLIENTS

THE DRAMA AND FINAL APPOLOGY FROM JESSY

YOU HAD TO KNOW SOMETHING WAS COMING

WAS IT KIKI THAT WAS HIS SKYTHINGY VICTIM???

MAYBE THATS WHY SHE WAS SO MIA

Kiki was Gregg's or Andre's client.

Doug had the white gal who came to his birthday party, I am drawing a blank right now, but maybe Laurie? I am sure she's going to be devasted, because I know Doug was working on a relationship of personal and physical fitness.

Another reason I loved Doug, he was/is such a great man.

I think there just should have been an announcement before the series began stating Doug had died. How he had died and then nothing more.

I guess they have strung it out as it happened while they were filming. They may film all the episodes in a two week period, but it takes 6 or 7 weeks to play out on television.

Yes this is a show about Jackie and this year it was more slanted towards her, at least in my opinion. Maybe next year it will be more about all the other trainers. Either that or be more centered in the Skysport & Spa. I found it interesting all the traveling but when that happened it became more about Jackie.

No matter what the put on the tube next year some of us will not be happy about it. As the lady in the high school announced, "Jackie Warner, star of the reality show Work Out."

I would love to see them do character development. It can still be about Jackie, but each week, focussing a little more on someone different.

I guess they did that a little bit with Zen and her stand up comedy, and Erika and the Angelina look-alike thing. And even Doug with Cheo training and his birthday party.

I would love to see Jesse outside the gym, they really don't discuss it. Gregg and Andre deserve some personal camera time as well. Peeler's getting married...

I agree it would be nice to see something personal about Gregg, Andre and Peeler. I do remember seeing Peelers girlfriend at a party last season I think it was the one where Mimi let go with the drink in Jackie's face. I also think at the same party because Jackie was talking to others Mimi started to hang all over Peeler. Other than that we know little about those three. It would be nice...but then when it comes down to it we really know very little about the trainers.

Who knows what next season will bring?

EXACTLY!!! I mean I have no problem with the show being all about her & all... but then the advertisements for the show should reflect that. Instead they have essentially used Doug's death as a rating grabber. And THAT I do have a problem with. Especially since they are only giving him about a minute or so of air time. If they used his death & appropriately payed their respects to him I wouldn't have such a hard time with this.

I really hope his friend/ex-lover is doing okay. My heart really goes out to him.

And yes, you are right about this happening everyday to people. Loss is the downside of life... but at least we will leave our loved ones to mourn in solitude instead of being publicly disrespected & used for someone else's personal gain.

You are too cute girlfriend!!! Speaking of the cute & the unattainable... I was just saying to WAJ that I would be all over Jesse if he were a straight guy. blush.gif I think he is adorable... but I do agree with WAJ in that he is a douchebag.

I just read somewhere the blogs are taped closer to the airing on television. I still feel that when Jackie learned of it Rebecca and Jackie were under a lot of stress and just remember it differently.

I have a friend that reads these posts and does not post, but these discussions about this particular program are making her laugh. Her opinion of this reality show is this: Jackie signed up to do this program to do nothing more than advance her business enterprises. In some way I might agree with her, but boy has she become cynical about this particular show.

Blogs are not taped. They are the written thoughts of the trainers that they actually post on the site after they view the episode, which is one day before the television airing. Jackie posted her blog on May 2nd. Rebecca posted hers on May 1st.

My posts were not related to them notifying the viewers of detailed information of Doug Blasdell's passing. What I am referring to is the fact that these blogs were written by the "cast" weekly. There should not be a discrepancy in these writings – why would there be of someone's death? When I look back at personal events such as someone's passing in my life, I know where and when I was when I received the news. When Rebecca and Jackie look back to January when Doug passed, this should not be an issue – in my opinion.

I will say again, I agree it doesn't matter where Jackie was when she received word. She could have been in Australia – who cares. But it does matter (at least to me) that Jackie and Rebecca cannot get their stories straight.

As for the issue of re-enactment, I was responding to someone else's post about the possibility of some of the scenes being re-enacted.

Their blogs are clear. I was reading them and was shocked at the inconsistency and felt the need to add my opinion about it. I became more shocked that more viewers did not notice this. Because of that, I dropped it. In the end, what's important is that Doug Blasdell is gone and my sympathies go out to all at Skysport, Skylab and to all who knew and who were touched by him.

Sorry I meant to say written instead of taped, thanks for your correction.

As others have said, the mix up could have come as to when he had been returned to ICU because of and bad turn in his health and when he actually died. The whole thing seems to be a little off center as to when he died and when he was transferred back to the ICU.

As for that discrepancy tainting the creditibility of the show, etc., it is reality tv not a documentary.

EXACTLY!!! I can recall with every minor detail what I was even wearing when told about someone SIGNIFCANTS passing. I can tell you the exact words which were said to me as well as my exact response. It's just sorta like time slows down for a few moments of surrealness.

With that said... I don't think Doug meant as much to either of these two ladies. And to try and fake that just to play on your viewers heartstrings or to make yourself look like less of a selfish jerk than you really are is pretty pathetic.

I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT

THE ONE WITH THE KNEE INJURIE

AND REGAINED HER WIEGHT I THINK RIGHT?

ALL IN ALL THOUGH

I DO FEEL AFTER WATCHING THE PROGRAM

THE LACK OF ENTHUSIASM ON THE PART OF THE CLIENTS

SEEMS ALOT OF FOCUS WAS ON THE TRAINERS AND THIER PERSONAL

LIVES

UNFORTUNATELY INCLUDING DOUG

I THINK THAT WAS A CLEAR GIVE

AS NOW IT SEEMS IT IS NO LONGER ABOUT THE CLIENTS

GAINING ANYTHING

BUT THE GAIN OF JACKIE IN HER PERSONAL ENDEAVORS

QUITE FRANKLY

I COULD GIVE A RATS OKOLE ABOUT IT

I DO FEEL SHE DID DO A GREAT INJUSTICE

USING A COLLEGUE'S DEMISE AS A STEPPING STONE

Ok, you just jogged my memory, the gal with the knee injury was Gregg's client, so Kiki belonged to Andre'.
FitNatalie
kiki is so annoying. what a lazy person. look at this oppurtunity she was given...its like 5-800 dollars a single session with any of these trainers (which i personally think is ridiculous) but anyway they get that for free PLUS expense paid retreats?? plus personal time with jackie to go food shopping and what not...not to mention they get to be on TV, if that matters. and kiki still cant stick with the program? if she cant lose weight this way then she NEVER will. Im so sick of her saying she has school....WOW everyone has school or a full time job plus kids and whatever else, all she has is school and she cant make it to the gym once a week or better yet STOP eating??? what a quitter. i pity you Kiki. what a wasted experience.
aquariaqueen
Yep, Kiki may have school, but education won't do you much good when you're overweight and stuck in your house for the rest of your life and you start losing toes because of diabetes.

I am not overweight, but would have jumped at the chance to have personal trainers, guidance and a free trip!!!

Maybe Kiki just wanted to be on TV, she didn't want to have to work at it.

AND I am glad that Jackie did not fault Andre' for it.....I wouldn't have been surprised if she had!

Anybody remember the conversation Jackie had with her mother, and her mother made reference to reading about hormonal changes when a pregnant mother is traumatized during the pregnancy and this could have a reason why Jackie was gay?

My very first thought was Jackie was going to go off on her. And I was stunned but pleased that Jackie was proud of her for trying to learn about homosexuality.

Those who remember the conversation, please fill in or correct my comments.

And there's no denying that her mother loves her, homosexuality is just hard to digest for some.

there is a discrepancy - this show seems alot more fake than real but I don;t know why they would lie but someone lied. those are two very different sceneario's - sitting with the crew crying in ohio and chilling with rebecca in LA are 2 very distinctive things - i would think in a situation like that the truth would stand out
AlliJo
It was rather surreal to me when I watched the episode... I live in a small town in Ohio. I could almost swear they were filming here or something, it was so similar. Sadly, what's also similar is that I was terrified of being outed like Jackie was. This whole series hits home to me, but this episode was especially moving, even if Doug's passing hadn't been included in this episode...

I just wish my mother would do something like Mrs. Warner was doing. At least she admits her daughter is gay rather than sweeping it under the rug and trying to set her up with guys all the time. But I digress.

Wonderful episode. Makes me want to buy the series on DVD eventually.
