I don't have any gay friends, I have never had cancer & no one in my imidiate family has had cancer. I was just a loyal viewer of the show. Maybe to you that makes my point of view invalid, but I will say it again...

I do not (can not) believe that Jackie knew about the cancer when she said, or allowed to be said, the comments that were made. Yes, we all say stupid things when we think we are alone with a friend (nothing that bad I hope, but still..). However, she got caught & was then told about the cancer. At THAT POINT she needed to stand up & say I am so sorry, it was not said to hurt you or your girlfriend, we are just mad at Peeler, or whatever.
Jamie seems nice enough & I don't care why she had implants... that's not the issue for me, you don't talk about clients that you don't know, or clients at all for that matter. If all the comments were about Peller, well, they had a relationship & they both said stuff about each other. Jamie was an innocent victim of catty back-bitting & that should of been addressed.

WOW just had to come out of the lurk for this thread!

First things first, I am a lesbian, (though that normally doesnt matter, but before I get accused by one of the "jackie egos" for being a biggot, I thought I better start there.)I can't remember anyone dissing jackie because she's a lesbian. She, imo, does innapropriate things in public for a striaight or gay relationship. She acts like a sixteen year old with a hard on and it's just not what I think adults should do...but...to each his own.

Second, her therapist. I mean in the show, not the retreat. I wonder what she thinks about all this after seeing the show (maybe she doesnt' watch it) Remember, a therapist is ONLY as good as the information they are getting from the client. We've all seen how jackie has her own little reality so she's probably relaying that to the therapist for an hour a week. I would guess if the therapist has some other inputs, she might have a different opinion about jackie and treat her differently.

Third, I neither love nor hate Peeler. I think it's GREAT that he stopped by here to chat with the fans. I will buy a Peelerbuilt shirt from him. I don't think he's a homophobe. He didn't like jackie because of her character, not because of her sexuality.

Fourth, as much as I hate it, jackie is a decent business woman. She pitched a show, and is marketing her products thru it and probably making some nice cheddar thru sponsors (though a few less now..lol) Have to give her credit for that. HOWEVER, I in no way consider her in any way some sort of fitness expert. Herserf and many of the trainers are extremely uneducated when it comes to body mechanics and exercise. And to send an office manager out to tell a trainer to change his shirt in front of a client?!?!? Oh Lord... Oh and umm...Mr Greg...you do know that people don't need two good legs and ankles in order to do cardio...right? I mean, those people that do wheelchair races must pray for downhill!!

Jackie has no idea about proper nutrition or exercise. I didn't get to watch the last show, but did she really make the SL people work out without eating breakfast? She doesn't know how to work out people with injuries. She thinks everyone should be at a fitness level that SHE wants for the SLers. Uggh... I've taken up too much of your time already.

I enjoy the banter that's gone on...especially the jackie egos. They are very funny. Keep up the good work guys. I'm a Jamie Eason fan for a long time and I'm glad this is happening. She deserves respect for what she has brought to the real fitness industry. Not the Work Out psuedo industry. Sorry for the long rant. Nice post Kiasmama. This is the first message board I ever mentioned that I was a lesbian. I felt I had to pull that badge out so I would not be lumped into the "I hate Jackie Warner because I fear/disgusted by/ haunted by her being a lesbian" gay hating label. I don't hate her, I feel sorry for her, she has to be miserable inside when the noise stops, but I am frightened by these people who call her a lesbian icon. I would hate to imagine young teenage lesbians thinking she is a role model to follow.

I really don't know why I am posting this, but I wondered if others have a comment on this subject.

I have watched Work Out since the first episode and found it interesting as to the development in the player's personalities. People who you thought were just eye candy have become major players in this program. Those that were basically nice or victims behaviourwise have become repulsive because of their actions. Those that were sometime jerks have become standard bearers. I just find this interesting and wonder why these changes? Is it that their true colors are rising to the surface or have the editors and producers been told to introduce more friction into the program. If the last is the case do you think the program was on its way out because of a lack of viewers?

I am not excusing anyone's behaviour I am just curious. I still believe in apologies when you are wrong.

From what I could find.... (And feel free to correct me if any info is wrong):

The first season was produced by Lori Kaye (Curl Girls, "The Ride: Seven Days to End AIDS") & Hope Moore (Monster Garage, Women Behind Bars).

This season, some of the producers are, Bruce Toms (Nanny 911, Boarding House North Shore) & Billy Taylor (Flipping Out, 8th & Ocean).

So although always in "reality show" format, the show shifting from instructional & inspirational to controversial & sensational, may have something to do with the "changing of the guard".

I wanted to make a couple of quick points.

In my opinion, the level of outrage over Work Out is in direct proportion to the level of emotional investment people had into this show. If no one cared about Jackie and Work Out, then no one would have cared about this. I think people felt betrayed.

I thought this was an interesting reality show. Sure Jackie was a B sometimes, but so was everyone else. I enjoyed the dynamics of the personalities. However, from the first episode of season 3, the tone and vibe seemed totally different. Jackie came across as very callous and she seemed to be very negative about everything. Jackie can blame the editing, but she can't change what she said.

What blows me away is how easily she could have squashed this. All she had to do was post something like this in her blog after the show:

I noticed last season at the end how callous and negative she was becoming. (Jackie, Rebecca and the other girlfriend, when Jackie just pushed Rebecca away and permitted the new girlfriend to take over at the restaurant.)

Had I been Rebecca at that restaurant, I would have gotten up, left and been only civil to Jackie after that.

JC! I'm so sorry about what happened to you but so happy you're doing better now. The gym I go to is nothing like SpySport, they're respectable and I too had gained like 15lbs (due to my back problem) and know what it's like to not feel comfortable in your own skin regarding the weight. To see such absolute blatent disregard for someone's body parts becoming "a couple of bad jokes" by an owner of a gym and her assistant is just sickening. Then to see the owner put down a paying client due to her obesity is sickening and then see the same owner of this so called professional gym tell her trainers it's okay to be late and disrespect their clients and that if their clients complain she'll throw their fat asses out of there is insane, then to watch her make out with her staff, sleep with them and party with them then turn on them when they don't respect her is also insane and then to watch this same gym owner peddle her goods and force her subcontractors to wear her girly stuff as men and then FIRE one of her best trainers so she could hide what she did to a client and post a blog about how right she was...well could only make a girl just roll over and die laughing at her downfall..there's nothing else to do at this point. She's in therapy but no need to drag us all there, lol. I liked the show I honestly did, but I can't watch it without Peeler knowing he was fired for something that Jackie did and tried to cover up. Jackie has confirmed all our fears about walking into a gym and not being in shape, heck I weighed 110lbs and went to a yoga class and thought I was going to DIE, I couldn't keep up with the 200lb woman next to me, I'm sure that would have make Jackie laugh her smug ass off! I'm just done with her behavior and it's sad because there was a time that I wouldn't miss a minute of the show, now I won't miss it but in a different way, I just won't watch it.

I am waiting to see what that prepared statement says because Peeler gave me the impression it would answer some questions that we have.

I know this is a late reply to LiaminLB post about the changing of the guard/producers/directors.
(I had a goat that decided to have triplets off season, wayyyy down in the bottom pasture)
It could be that the first group were more willing to overlook and hide the bad behavior because they did not want to present them that way, and the newer group just lets the warts hang out. I find it hard to believe that Jackie is the same Jackie from the first season.
This is only a suggestion, not written in stone, just an idea.

Well judging by the producers and their respective shows, I believe the bad behavior from Jackie was there from the start, however the first set of producer's seem to have morals and decided to make it a likeable show and hide Jackie's flaws (aka ego). The second set however, come on they're looking for drama and to their surprise they got it alright and they got it good! They went too far and now they have to live with the consequences. Afterall, if Peeler wasn't fired, I have a sneakin suspicion that NONE of us would have even been privey to what happened that evening and it all would have been internet rumor debate.
