Well, if you "used to be fans." Why are you on the message boards?

I can only speak for myself on this one. I "used to be a fan" of Work Out. I am still here because I am an optimist. I had (and I suppose I still have) the hope that Bravo would step up and address it's longstanding fan's concerns. You see, Work Out is not the only Bravo show I have watched and there are others I am a fan of and watch now and some I had been planning on continuing to watch. I am still waiting for Bravo to address this, and what better place to wait than on the Bravo board for the show that is being addressed? I still hope that they do, and if they do, I will be here to hear about it. If they do not, well I have already stopped watching Work Out, I will probably stop watching all the shows I have been watching and had planned to continue watching on Bravo. That is why I am still here.

I WILL TYPE THIS OUT IN CAPS AS YOU SEEM TO BE HARD OF HEARING. WE DO NOT HOLD JACKIE'S LIFE AND CHOICES AGAINST HER - MOST OF US USED TO BE FANS. WE HAVE GREAT CONCERNS ABOUT THE CRUEL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNJUST WAY SHE TREATED SEVERAL CLIENTS AND TRAINERS EARLIER THIS SEASON (AND THE WAY SHE HAS LIED ABOUT THE INCIDENTS SINCE). THIS IS NOT ABOUT BRIAN AND NEVER HAS BEEN. (AND YOU KNOW IT, OR IF YOU REALLY DON'T, GO BACK AND READ THE POSTS, GUYS, SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, PLEASE!)

You are typing in caps because they are hard of hearing? Go to bed, its past your bedtime, Jackie hater.

QUOTE (KariAna @ May 20, 2008 - 07:21 PM) *
Yes, I know it is a television show. The thing is, it is a reality television

show which I know is scripted. In know way does this give Jackie

Warner or any other person to treat people who are employeed by

them in the manner that Jackie is treating them. Uh well, I think the producers decided that a big Kum-bay-ya Work Out cast would be boring. In addition, they're all adults! All of them! They signed releases! They're grown ups! It's their problem. When you say something like that, I think I've stumbled into an Amnesty International site discussing human rights violations! Go there! This is not a "cause."

I'm not even going to address boobgate. Again, all adults.

I let it go because it appeared Jackie and Rebecca were falling in love. I know Rebecca is an actress. Some things are not acting. The hurt I have seen in Rebecca's eyes from Jackie's behavior is not acting. Now see Kari Ana, as sweet as your statement sounds, it's really just frightening. Rebecca didn't care about Jackie. (You should really watch her on the Amazing Race.) But let's just say she did care about Jackie, who cares? Why would you care? Rebecca is a grown up. I think she can handle her real and totally made-up relationships. There are, however, many women who are victims of abuse who could use your support. The yellow pages should list all of the shelters in your area.

Perhaps if you stop defending Jackie's horrible behavior and just went elsewhere we all might go back to making cookies and our choice to not listen to the lies and baiting of Jackie Supporters will not offend you anymore.

Again, just scary. You'll spend day and night here but when "this" is over you'll just retreat to your June Cleaver world and all is okay? No global warming, no crime, no nothing? Jackie Waner be gone, you be good?

All you do is insult people. None of us Hate Jackie.

We despise her behavior. Rude behavior has not happened

on this board EXCEPT WHEN JACKIE SUPPORTERS BEGIN

VERBALLY ASSAULTING US. That is the difference between

those of us upset about Jackie's bully behavior towards

anyone who she claims is disrespectful to Jackie Warner.

The thing is, as viewers the only disrespectful person I

and others on here have seen is Jackie Warner. We wouldn't

be so upset had we not truly enjoyed this show the first season

and a big part of the second season. This sort of dismantles

all the pro Jackie's supporters arguments. If we were just the

way you say we would not have been watching the show for two

seasons and then decided to stop watching and begin complaining

about her behavior during the third season. This is what happens so

one more bit of proof that your claims are absurd.

And so? Brian isn't just a dumbass, he's a compulsive liar with major conflict resolution issues. It's already been said but there are people who lack a formal education who are very well-read, intelligent and so on, that's not Brian Peeler. I suspect he was seriously behind as a sophomore in high school and I pretty much think that's where he's remained emotionally and intellectually.

That's fantastic! You're a poet and I didn't even know it. I'm sorry I couldn't resist. I've seen this a lot on the board, I'm a this and I'm a that and it's all used to justify why you are somehow more valid as a person therefore, you are allowed and obligated to call Jackie Warner (a person you don't know) out on her behavior. I don't think it matters what someone has been through. How many outraged breast cancer patients or people who have lost 'many' to breast cancer were outraged here and yet, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation along with others haven't said a word? ( BTW: if you are someone who has lost 'many' to Breast Cancer then you really need to address your environmental surrounding because there's something dangerous going on there.)

QUOTE (clarakotka @ May 20, 2008 - 07:23 PM) *
My family is in California, Oregon, Georgia and Illinois, so I doubt environmental factors play that big a part in it all.

I was being sarcastic. I've seen many posts stating, "I have lost MANY friends and family to breast cancer." Sorry. I don't buy it. Unless by MANY they mean 1 or 2. Any loss is tragic but these people are just exploiting the issue in an attempt to validate their argument. Again, cancer had nothing to do with this.

Regarding your response:

so I doubt environmental factors play that big a part in it all.

YIKES! In general to that, YIKES! No one is immune or exempt to toxic exposure in their area. We still can't explain the exponential increase in breast cancer cases. Theories about increased estrogen are strong but remain unproven, water supply, oh I digress again. Another important cause, this is not one.

I am really a published poet. Would you enjoy links to my work to prove this fact? I can supply them for you. I'd love for you to buy some of the lit-zines I'm featured in.

That really is great. I'll take a pass for now but I am a big believer in artistic expression.

EDIT: I just noticed I spelled California wrong! Silly.

Okay, so I have finally been provoked into posting my thoughts on here. I have watched Workout sporadically over the previous seasons and found myself drawn to watching this season. I have spent a good long time reading the unbelievable number of posts regarding the whole Jackie controversy. I am left with the following observation: Many people want to justify and/or defend the posts on this board using a myriad of reasons/excuses/ prejudices, etc. The personalities and lifestyles and various issues regarding both Jackie and Peeler really dont have the slightest thing to do with the heartfelt reaction of many fans regarding what they feel is unacceptable behavior for anyone in a business setting. I am a manager of a service industry staff. The catty remarks directed at a customer are unacceptable, whether the customer is a cancer survivor or the biggest pain in the ass ever. They are your customer, show respect. Same thing goes for an employee, there are ways to deal with employees and ways not to.

That Jackie and Bravo have chosen not to validate their viewer's reaction is really the reason this has continued. Regardless of whether or not this is reality or just a show that's scripted; the only real reality is that the viewers, the fans, are Bravo's and Workout's "customer". Without us, they can't exist. Its obvious from these boards that a large number of their "customers" have felt let down, and unhappy with the content of the show. Instead of responding to that we have gotten pretty much a "hey if you dont like it, tough [expletive deleted]" attitude. It's not so surprising therefore that behavior like Jackie's seems to be Bravo's idea of entertainment.

Do any of you realize that just by being on this board, by clicking, by posting, you are supporting Bravo and Work Out? You know that, right?

Would you please provide the number of the post where is stated that I hate Jackie?
You will find me writing that her behavior was disgusting in the Breast incident and toward Peeler when he tried to talk to her about the situation. But hate?

I find it alarming the way Jackie has been acting out, i.e. drinking, workplace inappropriate behavior, Brianna. It makes me wonder if she's really doing okay or if she's going down a bad spiral. Which would be a shame, she has things to offer and its disappointing to see her possibly falling apart. I wonder what her therapist thinks if she even watches the show.

Here's the biggest problem with that argument. The people stirring up this little storm of outrage don't come close to the number of people still tuning in. You see, numbers like that get reported in AdWeek and Advertising Age and the mainstream press in general. So far, the number of people who are "outraged" is small. What you're doing is trying to be a great big party pooper over a show you DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH! Most people watching the show are totally unaware of this controversy. They're not reading Bravo Boards and AfterEllen. No one is paying attention. I have a problem with a small group of people trying to dictate what I watch! I want to watch the show! You don't have to watch! You're not a fan! I don't believe it anymore. I really think many of you are bent on getting this (in your head) immoral perverse show taken off the air because liberal open-minded people wouldn't care but most importantly, fair, open-minded individuals understand the value in the First Amendment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To gay viewers, you're playing into the devil's hand. These are the same people who protest gay marriage and wanted Ellen off the air! You believe they're not anti-gay? Think again! It took decades to get Gay and Lesbians on television and now you're fighting to have them taken off? Be careful what you wish for!

The same way a retail establishment or a restaurant can say, "hey just go somewhere else, dont come here" Not good business! That is the point I'm trying to make here. Yes we can not watch, but why alienate so many people when a simple statement or just an acknowledgement would make a difference. Also by locking these boards and not allowing the discussion a few days ago, it was a pretty definitive non-answer. Along with the fact that these fans when pushed can rally to affect sponsorship, it seems very arrogant of Bravo to ignore the issue. I'm not saying the show should even be taken off the air, or that Jackie "has to go". I'm just amazed by the way this has all played out.
clarakotka
Dacia, I've lost 5. That's nothing to be sarcastic about.

I'm sure envirnmental factors do play a part. I think in the case of my clan genetics plays a bigger part. Which is scary.

You let me know when you're ready for some poetic confections. The latest issue of the online zine wicked alice is excellent (and I'm in it).

As far as being on here, I'm a frequenter of the Top Chef and Step It Up boards, too. I've stated before, I'm not giving up my Top Chef. Spike ... yummy!

That was really good point about how just being on these boards supports bravo through ad revenue.

I have been a long term viewer, I have posted on numerous Bravo boards and blogs. I've spoken to Andy Cohen on the phone during some of the online post shows. I have been doing this since 2005.

I hadn't thought that I do have proof that I am a long term Bravo viewer! That all of my posts and emails and conversations are right here on this site!!!

That should carry some weight, that me, a long term Bravo viewer with proof to back it up, is unhappy! I can prove I'm not somebody who is pretending to watch the show.

I am writing to the president of Bravo immediately with proof of my long term Bravo loyalty. Thanks Dacia!

and others on here have seen is Jackie Warner. We wouldn't

be so upset had we not truly enjoyed this show the first season

and a big part of the second season. This sort of dismantles

all the pro Jackie's supporters arguments. If we were just the

way you say we would not have been watching the show for two

seasons and then decided to stop watching and begin complaining

about her behavior during the third season. This is what happens so

one more bit of proof that your claims are absurd.

Well said Tessie, welcome- I can't offer you Kool-Aid (as one of the posters implied) but how about a cookie and a hug?

Dacia, I've lost 5. That's nothing to be sarcastic about.

I'm sure envirnmental factors do play a part. I think in the case of my clan genetics plays a bigger part. Which is scary.

You let me know when you're ready for some poetic confections. The latest issue of the online zine wicked alice is excellent (and I'm in it).

As far as being on here, I'm a frequenter of the Top Chef and Step It Up boards, too. I've stated before, I'm not giving up my Top Chef. Spike ... yummy!

Oh, Clara, Spike ... really? With all his ratty hats and his squash soup and his sexy salad, and bathing with the kiwi and the "wheres the 'maters?"...That Spike? Bleh! blink.gif Only one worse is Lisa!

Absolutely! I second that!

Well, that episode puts the -30- to my viewership. Eight minutes of quality sandwiched between soft porn and absurdly inappropriate behavior. I have no idea what demographic Bravo is trying to reach, but I cannot be on the list. I'm going the old-fashioned way with my criticism this time ... stationery and a stamp. I'll exercise that right and then change channels.

Okay, my little brainchild, you do realize the show is heavily edited. It's about 6 hours of footage. How many hours in a whole year? You do the math. I think the therapist is pretty aware that the show is very much taken out of context, pieced together for entertainment and that unless you were there, you have NO idea what actually happened.

I think you need to study up on MLK. The quote and the man stand in complete opposition to your trivial so-called cause. It's insulting. Jackie Warner is on an entertainment show. Everyone involved is a consenting adult. No one is a victim.

Martin Luther King gave his life fighting for the civil rights of African Americans!!!!! We're talking about extreme racism, segregation, lynching, KKK!!! It's really sick that you would even suggest that you are speaking out on a "cause" by putting his quote on your posts.

You are severely misinformed and bordering on complete ignorance. Defending Brian Peeler? Catty comments? Consenting adults? Not anywhere near the same category as not having basic civil rights. I think I’m seeing red right now.

Thank You for your post biggrin.gif After reading all of the other pages, I was glad to see something that was on topic and without the bashing of other viewers.

Yeah!!! and, while you are at it, why don't you ask them to remove you from the board too? Yeah, write to the President of Bravo, I am sure she will write back pronto. Careful, she may hate Kool aid.

Gee, all these folks coming onto the boards posting messages about how stupid it is to post on a message board.........

What I say doesn't matter, so I am going to keep saying it.
What I think doesn't matter, so I am going to keep thinking for myself.
What I do doesn't matter, so I am going to keep doing it, won't hurt anybody.... since it doesn't matter!

If what I am doing here is an exercise in futility, then what is your insistence that I stop? Sounds like another exercise in futility......

Come on everybody time to exercise!

I skipped a lot of the post to get to the end to see what people were saying about tonight's show, so I maybe resaying what someone else has said. I was very mad at Jackie 2 weeks ago, but on tonight's show she handled herself well. First round Peeler, second round Jackie. He was understandable upset, but he really made himself look like a jerk. Sorry Dude!

You really are just an uneducated child aren't you? You really have no idea. You're just a little girl with a crush on Peeler and a crush on Spike. Probably have posters on your wall. Yeah, the lonely girls in my high school always belonged to the drama club and wrote poetry. I should have recognized the clues. Sorry about that.

You don't know enough about MLK to understand his quotes, where they came from and in what context. Going to a quote webpage doesn't count.

Advice: give up the poetry and drama and crack some text books.
