NO. I didnt say "how dare anyone question Peeler" I say its not about Peeler. Its about Jackies behaviour. Theres a huge difference there. You are not paying attention to these posts and just making things up to support yourself.
If you really read these threads and posts since the episode aired you'd see the "gay" word was never thrown around or used against Jackie. The only ones who brought it up first were the ones trying to use it as "the reason we hate Jackie" which isnt true and not that diffulct to understand unless you are bias and want perpetuate that propaganda. The posts are on these boards and they are all time stamped showing this.
There was no hidden agenda, thats fabricated by people like you. The very people who were fans of this show one day and disgusted with it the next were all well aware of Jackies orientaion from the begining and didnt have a problem with it. That episode wassnt that "gay." There were plenty of same sex make out scenes in other episodes and they didnt evoke any rage because no one was offended by it. They were offended by Jackies BEHAVIOUR. Get that? BEHAVIOUR. NOT THAT SHE WAS A LESBIAN. Its not that hard to see if you open your eyes and your mind. Even the 700 club doesnt monitor every gay related tv show to pick parts out and vilanize homosexuality. You dacia and true need to get some therapy to sort whatever issues in your lives make you see these conspiracies or just get glasses or share a brain that works. You are calling homosexuals homophobic and dont see how ridiculous you look doing it.
NO. I never mentioned that event. You are creating more things in your head there.
You really are confused and should start paying more attention if you want to go quoting and putting words in peoples mouths.
I still find it interesting how you gloss over Nama's first post about how she talks like an "insider" and blasts Peeler's friendship with Doug and downplays it as if Doug didnt really like him, her opinion on behalf of a deceased person. Thats someones friend, no matter how another person percieved their friendship there were feelings there. Saying something like that is just as wrong as Jackies behaviour on the show. But you cant see that either. Thats what you are siding with. Its disgusting.
Huh? It's been a very busy day. I'm a bit blurry right now but this is kind a mean.... no?
You kind of took all of my posts and a small part of one and jumped all over it out of context. I'm sorry if I confused you with another poster.
If you read my posts you'll see that I was here ripping into Jackie. You'll see that I'm the one who started it up on this thread.
You aren't the only ripping into me which is kind of strange and I think when it starts getting scary because.... well, it's just not nice.
The anti-gay agenda is very real and very much alive in this country and yes, there are some fundamentalist groups even ones affiliated with Pat Robertson that track gay programming and do make moves against it. If you see my post after this one, I think it pretty well explains my position. I didn't claim there was an anti-agenda here but I did say that it can never be completely discounted. It simply can't.
Kiasmama... sorry if I mispelled but you also took my comments how of context. I'm not the enemy but I might quickly become Jackie's biggest fan if this continues. I'm not going to attack you.
My brother who is my best friend is HIV+, outside of the work I do as a trainer, my life is dedicated to AIDS research and education. I even discussed right here on this board how I work with at-risk young men quite a bit as meth has become a problem which leads almost instantly to high-risk sexual activity. I think your comments about going to gay bars was a bit generalized and a bit of an underhanded insult and not worth me repeating. It's something that should be discussed but I tend to think it needs to be discussed with tact, sensitivity and with all facts present. Humans are flawed on every level.
I never said that this... thing... right here on this board was an anti-gay movement but I do understand True and Dacia's passionate pleas. I've seen their frustration before, I have been at a funeral protested by the lovely Fred Phelps and his followers. No parent, no friend, no one should ever be faced with such hate upon the passing of a loved one. I think this is where Dacia and True are coming from. Do I agree with how they approached it. No not really but I think you and Blahvo have been equally unkind to me without even reading my posts.
I'm not excusing anyone who attacks anyone else who has a different opinion.... I understand True and Dacia's passion for their cause. There are many people out there giving their every waking moment and heart and soul to defending gays and lesbians.... I think that's where their passion comes from.....and sometimes it becomes extreme. People who hate can also become extreme as well as violent.
I guess out there in the world, I would definitely align myself and back True and Dacia over anyone who promotes hate. That has nothing to do with this board. That's just where my heart is in that bigger whole picture thing.
As for Brian, go read all of my posts. I discussed it with DrB today....
And Nama.... all I know besides that he is a black man... is that he posted some interviews with Brian Peeler and they were very insightful and really didn't reflect Brian in a very positive way. Other than that, Brian fell off my radar....
I'm not even close to being your enemy but your responses (Kia & Blahvo) to one part of one post, is a bit unsettling to say the least.
So, I'm a trainer, a former world level athletic competitor and I have a BS in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition and yes, sugar is evil. Aside from being one of the leading contributors to obesity in the United States, it leads to a variety of other health issues. The problem with sugar in the US, is that it is in almost every single processed food. If it's not cane sugar, then it's high fructose corn syrup which is the evilist of all the evils. I only have a couple of clients outside of the athletes I work with but one thing I always tell them is that if they must have Coke, if they absolutely must treat themselves to that special nectar of the Gods then make sure it's a Coke in a glass bottle that has a Mexican Label on it. They're still using cane sugar and our bodies are much better equipped to process that over high fructose corn syrup.
I could go on forever about sugar but just know that we eat too much of it. Sugar in fruit is okay. Small amounts of pure cane sugar in desserts on occasion is okay. Where we run into problems.... well really here in the US it's because our lifestyles are heavily dependent on processed foods. Look at the labels. Try to find bread without high fructose corn syrup in it!! It's alarming! Even Wheat Thins!!! (that one totally pisses me off) And as I said, it's not just the obesity... it's very damaging. Even if you're someone who doesn't gain weight, these products are causing harm. I'll save that for another day..... but start by eliminating high fructose corn syrup (and that in itself is very difficult) and then you eliminate a great deal of the ordinary refined sugar. But once you elimate the high fructose corn syrup, you'll find that you're eating almost an entirely natural diet. At that point, the refined sugar will often be coming via homemade cookies and cakes, YUM! So if you can get to that point, you are way ahead of the game and then it's easy to limit yourself to occasional cookie or brownie (as long as it's homebaked).
Sorry- I love this stuff.... I never get to talk about nutrition these days.
Anyhooha... I'm not the enemy. I'm really not.
I'm waaaay too tired to proof. Hope this makes sense.... Liam, your Clay Aiken response just cracked me up...... thanks for that!!
