Alex is upstairs suppose to be bathing the kids and I just see a post. CiCi's was crazy. I now know why some animals eat their young. Monday can not come soon enough...by the way I like the new icon next to your name. I thought Liams was the Pink Panther. Oops!!!! B)

Yeah Disney!

I tried to make this point the other night but JC was feeling all "militant" and cut me off... (although he does look cute in his Napoleon costume (I think it's the epaulets and the crazy hat). wub.gif

What do the Walt Disney Company, Proctor and Gamble, Kraft Foods, and the Ford Motor Company have in common?

All have been threatened at some point with boycotts from the Christian Right for their Pro-gay policies.

And all of them said to the Religious Right, "we love and support our gays".

Disney & P&G basically ignored them.

Ford’s response: “Ford values all people - regardless of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and cultural or physical differences. And we are glad to see that this spirit of inclusion is evident in the practices of other automakers who do business in this country as well. It is one of the things that makes us proud to be part of the auto industry.”

Kraft’s response: “Diversity is more than a word many people like to say. At Kraft we truly respect all kinds of differences. And diversity is not a selective concept. By definition, it's nothing if not inclusive. We respect diversity of ethnicity, gender, experience, background, personal style and yes, sexual orientation and gender identity. Recognizing, respecting and valuing these differences help us be a more successful business and a workplace where all employees can realize their full potential.”

So spend your hard earned cash where it can do the most good. Not by purchasing products (or watching TV shows) promoting hatred and bigotry.

Alex, you are now addicted aren't you? Before you come downstairs, put the cloths in the dryer please. Next week, I'm bathing the cat. And the catnip was not everywhere...just in half of the kitchen. NiCi told me to put it all over the floor (I think).

Yes dear. And yes it was all over the floor! We have a huge kitchen and it was everywhere. I had to empty the dustbuster 4 times!!

Good night all, I'm beat. DrB..."take me to bed or lose my forever". Anyone remember what movie that is from?

All have been threatened at some point with boycotts from the Christian Right for their Pro-gay policies. My mom was a port of that boycott til her finance guy got an email from her about boycotting Ford and he immediately called and told her how much stock she owns of the Ford Motor Company. Never heard anymore about that. Alex took my nieces and newphew to Walt Disney World that next fall.

I hope everyone is ok with the bad storms.

My new avatar might not last long, but I like it at the moment. It was a gift from a friend, who liked the irony.

I am bushed at the moment, I literally had an ass delivery(which is in my barn for anyone wanting to sleep there). It was a rescue picked up tonight. It is sooo skinny. I was worried about if it would fall over getting out of the trailer. It kinda wiped me out.

I wanted to say thank you again for people who had my back. I think the speed and the responses surprised the attacker. I do appreciate it. wub.gif

I am going to bed.

Booglie, my friend,

I am quite beyond words about what that ... person... posted earlier. You are a wonderful, kind, warm, classy, funny, incredible woman and what was said has absolutely nothing to do with you and who you are, but reveals a lot (and none of it nice) about the person who posted it!

I can't articulate it well, Dear, I hope you can see what I am trying to say... If I try to say more they will surely kick me off the boards for the foul language I will not be able to help myself from using... it gives me a sick headache...

OK, first of all, the cat is only the size of a small FAINTING goat, not a regular size goat. I came home this AM to crap all over the kitchen floor. I don't know if she thought you were suppose to use the whole bag or what, but it was everywhere. He only bothers her when I'm gone, which I thought she exaggerated, but Nannie Cam caught it all. He is really very sweet and loves to cuddle(with me). Do not know who to thank for the catnip tip but don't encourage her. Someone told her to bath him for god's sake. Called from London and she announces she is going to bath Morris.

BUSTED! blink.gif

blush.gif Blame me for the catnip tip (I did NOT tell her to use the whole bag! I think she is REALY afraid of him though... more is better?!)

blush.gif Blame Liam for the bath tip (he also recommended that she simultaneously point at him and laugh when he was wet)

We were fighting over whose tip was best (it was a slow night) and so I think she decided to do both... huh.gif

What can I say? When you get me and Liam together,
you get TROUBLE! blink.gif

We both realize how lucky we are. It takes a ton of work but we not only love each other, we really like each other. I can't think of anyone who I respect more Al. She is one in a million. But we can get in to it, don't get me wrong. It's just you learn to remember why your fighting, what the boundries of the fight are and you don't bring up other stuff during this particular fight. We both communicate fairly well so we talk a lot...but mainly we laugh, at ourselves and at each other. And she is gone 10 days a month. LOL!!

Of course, once I saw that big fluffy kitty looking all skinny and sad, I did point and laugh! (did I mention I was a kid?) I thought it was the ugliest critter I had ever seen! QUOTE (KariAna @ May 22, 2008 - 01:20 PM) *
The thing is, the anti gay thing for me does not exist. It is very difficult

having people discount how difficult it is seeing someone bully others no

matter what the reason and no matter how many problems the person

being bullied has that makes them a target. Any hidden agenda I might

have isn't really hidden at all. I was badly bullied as a child and as well

as a young adult. The reasons for me being bullied was my size and

that somehow I always seemed to say the wrong thing. Not trashing

people, just trying to fit in and not doing it very well.

It has been a slap in the face for

anyone to come on here and make it clear that they believe that there

is no way that what we are doing MUST be anti-gay. How bigoted are

these remarks???? I had some very close friends that I grew up with

who were beaten up badly, lost jobs, all kinds of anti-gay actions. So

for me to be accused of anything Anti-Gay just gets me upset. I sat

at one friend's hospital bed after his beating. It was difficult to even

recognize him from the swollen features. Speaking for myself, stop with the

accusations of my stand against Jackie Warner's behavior in this show

as being Anti-Gay. I don't deserve it, and I'd bet neither do the others

who are also standing against the bad behavior of Jackie Warner. It

is wrong and extremely hurtful. Why is it so difficult to believe that

having loved this show and Jackie Warner and then seeing her take that

love for her to a place where she believed that because we love her

we will understand Lisa and she trashing a client and then lying about

trashing the client. Firing Peeler because he wanted an apology from

her. I think that once you see the heartless behavior of someone who

you thought was an incredible human being you simply cannot go back

and love her the same way ever again. Whatever the reasons behind

my feelings it is not Anti-Gay and never would be. I have made a lot

of mistakes in my life but that area is not one of them.

Kari Ana

Kari Ana,
I teared up reading this, I shortened your post (for space) but I encourage everyone to click the return arrow above and read the entire post.

I too have spent a night in the emergency room with a friend after a brutal anti-gay attack.

He was on a gurney in a full body and neck brace for almost 12 hours waiting for a specialist.

They had kicked him so hard in the head, the staff on duty at the hospital thought they had almost severed his spinal column at the neck.

He was told to remain absolutely still, that any movement at all and he could become paralyzed. He was 19.

And 4 of those 12 hours he spent alone because the hospital would only allow "Immediate Family" in to see him.

We finally fought and argued enough that a kind nurse took pity on us and let us in one by one.

He was so scared lying there strapped down, tears streaming out of the corners of his eyes, trying not to breathe, afraid to even blink.

This was in Rhode Island when I was 20. His parents arrived from Florida the next day.

Thankfully when the swelling went down they saw his spine was only badly bruised.

Yeah that's something you don't forget too soon. That's why I also got upset on these boards when I was called anti-gay.

To any parents reading this please, don't teach your kids to hate. Teach them to love and respect everyone even if they are different.

You have got to be kidding me!" I started laughing so hard, I knew right then I might have overdone the catnip. Then when I stop laughing, all of a sudden I hear the dust buster going and I about soiled myself. She finally came to bed and she said, "You heard that damn dust buster going and all you did was lay in here and laugh, didn't you?" I started laughing all over again, I had tears streaming down my face.

I don't know how many of you remember Laugh In. [expletive deleted] Martin has

passed away at age 86. I can't help but feel very sad. He was such

an influence for so much of my life. Not directly of course. I have

always thought that comedy after Laugh In was influenced by it.

Saturday Night Live appeared to me to be a more grown up version

of the Dan Rowan/[expletive deleted] Martin style. I remember a talk show with

I think it was [expletive deleted] Martin who was a guest and there was this young girl

who was maybe 12 years old singing a song sounding like Ethel Merman.

I can't remember who that girl was, but I know Dan Rowan pissed her

off when he was discussing Saturday Night Live. He told her that it

was a show filled with Not Ready For Prime Time Players, and that she'd

be perfect for it. Well, of course the young girl thought he meant she

wasn't good enough for Prime Time, not that her sound was something

that would work on SNL. Anyway, that is one of my [expletive deleted] Martin Stories.

Anyway, sad day.

You both made me cry. I've never had to deal with this type of hate. I can't even speak now. Just know that there are people in the world that are not that way. We have to keep educating folks that this is not acceptable behavior. And we definately need to raise our children to be open to all walks of life. I was never exposed to a gay person (that I know of) but my children have been (in a positive way). The words are so insignificant, but really I feel for all of us.

Will they allow Peter? Wang? Harry Balzac?

I know on a forum other than this once I got Jerry Van Dyke's brother

whose first name is the same as Mr Martin's. The reason it was deleted

was that the last name was Van Dyke.

Yeah, a guy on another board was talking about a very well known sports figure with the same first name who came into a restaurant he was working in and they "expletive deleted" him too! He had to spell it with the i as an upside down exclamation point in order for it not to be ED'd!

This show was started by the guy tht did the movie Supersize Me. He ate McDonalds for 30 days and it documented his fitness levels. Now he has this show that puts people in different situations for 30 days. It is pretty cool to see how people open they minds to different situations.

Hey NiCi
Snagglepuss
Saw this on another site and thought it was hysterical...
I do believe the original author may be around this neck of woods if they'd like to take credit for it...

In reference to jackie's new restaurant List:

She probably named it "List" because she has a "list" of unethical behavior that potential employees must agree to before being considered for employment..

I can see the "list" on the "List" application already...

Attention To All Filling Out This Application To Work For Me, the wonderful, Jackie Warner:

By signing below, (whether I hire you or not) You give up all rights to dignity, respect and a life other than the one I decide you will (or will not have), until I decide to destroy you and your life, in order to save myself.

The undersigned females seeking employment, (who I feel are sooooo beneath me to begin with):
Agree to always kiss owners A$$.
Agree to allow owner to swap spit with you, rub your hair and fondle you, anytime owner wants to, ESPECIALLY in front of customers.
You furthermore agree to give 95% of all tips to owner, since I am your Madam (er Boss)...

Hey Gyspy...fires out?

Dr. B, Thank you for asking. In my neck of the woods they're either out or under control. We got rain yesterday. Supposed rain again today. Has some viscious storms yesterday.
(sighs) But at least it isn't Kansas here with all the tornados.

Gypsy forgive me for not responding to your question sooner. I had a hard time finding your post (page 132 not 131 BTW wink.gif ).
And although, Jackie not being in charge is a nice thought....
Everytime I would try to read your post, (I guess the words "Fantasy Work Out" have a bit of a different meaning for me) my mind would begin to wander.... and thoughts of Chris Evans & Ryan Reynolds would begin to creep in... (I can't go into details but it does involve a shower scene...).
I tried several times to force myself to answer acurately but... although I am a GAY man, I'm still only a man. I guess I have a "one track mind" and it's a dirt track!
Here is an emoticon I found online & thought of you (& Kari Ana) feel free to copy it and use it.

What's up with the weather this weekend? Bizarre weather across the Nation...
Here in Southern California, after several weeks in the high 80s and constantly sunny, it's now grey and cold (50s which is cold for us) with isolated thunderstorms. We may get rain occassionally (usually Jan.-Feb. is the rainy season and "man it pours") but we hardly ever see thunder and lightning... this would be my third time in 5 years (I'm New England born & raised.)
And JC had flash flooding in the desert... just seems weird.
