Hey NiCi! We had a great weekend. Golf tourney, gardens got finished and we left Sunday evening to go to the lake house for much needed rest and relaxation. Al had worked out with my mom to come get the kids (my niece and nephew) Sunday evening so that was great. The goat-cat is somewhere in this house but Al doesn't fly until Thurs so he won't attack til then. Did ya'll have a good weekend? I miss Liam...if you are out there, Liam, we love you. wub.gif

Family reunion to see 90+ grandma who was here to visit - she is a hoot! biggrin.gif Then spent time with the neighbors (who are also "family") I am very lucky! Other than that, rested for the most part (which was sorely needed).

Oh, but I forgot to share the best part, I unexpectedly met a new friend, the tall dark and hadsom type blush.gif ! A single girl never knows when that is going to happen (so the maid thing is off for good, sorry! tongue.gif )! Thing is, he has facial hair and while attractive (in a Paul Bunyan sort of way) I have very delicate skin, so will try to talk him into shaving when I get to know him better. Do you think that is awful of me? huh.gif

So, good weekend, YES!

...All but having our beloved Snagglepuss depart! sad.gif (first time I have used that smiley!) Feels less...bouncy around here without him...

I did want to see the pic again...LOL!! Sorry to hear about your Mom. That is a hard road to travel. You will be in my thoughts.

The wedding is still pending...for a little while there we thought we might be having a double wedding with NiCi and Booglie joining in but NiCi is not a member of the club so unless we get her really drunk and perform the ceremony with her in a drunken stupor, it just looks like a single wedding. If we hadn't renewed our vows in March, we could have joined the festivities. Oh well!

I told you what you had to do, just show me a nekkid pic of Miguel. I'm pretty sure that would do the trick, it sounded like that might even switch Liam! But good luck finding one so, yep, single wedding. Guess we will have to jazz it up even more to make up for it! biggrin.gif

Of course that is NOT awful! I make Alex shave her legs for me. laugh.gif

It feels empty without Snagglepuss...which reminds me of a story...which I shall share later. Have a client coming soon and must get professional for a while. rolleyes.gif

1st of all, I shaved my legs long before I met D. 2nd if she tells the story I think she is then we might have to find a counselor because we swore we wouldn't tell that story to anyone. That's all I have to say. Come back liam and JC. sad.gif

Your wife tells some...interesting stories! biggrin.gif But if you all swore you would not tell it, then let her know that NiCi says she should not tell it! We have so much else we can talk about!

And about leg shaving, I know! You shave them and next thing you know, hair, again! blink.gif As a single girl I can let things go a bit, blush.gif but when I am dating it is a bit of a pain! But if I am going to insist that my new friend shave, I better go out and buy a razor too (darn!) laugh.gif ! Maybe facial hair is not so bad after all... biggrin.gif

How did you read her as a person? I know that isn't what usually goes into the interview proper. Sincere, thoughtful, powerful, willful, intelligent, dismissive, inpatient......?????

Was she angry when you brought up the dui, boycott, eason?

Did you think about asking about the supposed knifing of her gf?????

Is there a way as a member of the press for you to check to see if she did have a ticket for dui???? or went to court for it?

CY: Were you surprised sponsors pulled out after the episode and incident?

JW: "Well, one sponsor and surprised? Nothing surprises me in television. Not one thing. I thought it was a little too soon. I think it was an error because the show is really positive and increases in positivity each episode, but that's a choice. If people can't take the heat and can't take the controversy then they shouldn't be involved in advertising of reality TV because there is so much heat and controversy in reality TV."

Jackie Warner is either lying in this interview or woefully uninformed about her own show. We all know Propel pulled it's plug and this morning I finally got this response from SoyJoy. I have also heard Maybelline yanked it's advertising dollars, but I have to check that to be sure. Olivia Cruises yanked theirs, and banned any of Workout's employees from their property but that was due to many things, but basically Workout did not live up to their contract with them.
------
On behalf of SOYJOY, we want to thank you for contacting us and sharing your concerns about theTV show Workout, specifically around the episode that aired May 6. We have watched the episode in question and have notified Bravo we no longer wish to be associated with Workout andwill be pulling our commercials. We hope our actions send a message that we greatly value what you have to say, agree with your sentiments, and appreciateyou taking the time to share your concerns with us. Best, The SOYJOY Team

What did you think about our response to it? It sounds like she "spun" some of her answers to your questions (or outright lied to you) to make herself sound better and in the right. Ever think of doing a follow up article giving the other perspective on the subject? After all, we really are not just a "couple of crack jobs" are we? (a petition with over 680 names says we are not, and if you will read the articulate posts that express our concerns - written by many different posters you will also have to conclude that her rather snide label for us does not truly apply!)

Listen to the interview off my website. You can draw your own perception. Some records are attainable, but usually you have to go and sign for them I believe. I am in Florida, but I could probably do some research and see regarding the DUI. Jackie Warner is who she is. I think we had a normal conversation, but I am respectful in how I ask the tough questions. I am not a 100 percent follower of the show. I saw the incident before I did the interview, but other than that, I have not seen a full episode of the show. We all say things we regret. Not applauding anyone's remarks, but that's the truth of the world.

Just when I think I can't be more surprised by Jackie, she goes and sticks her proverbial foot in her mouth. How is 680+ people considered a couple of crack jobs? Did anyone notice yesterday, Bravo ran a "marathon" of sorts of Housewives of NYC instead of Work Out leading up to last nights new show? That is the first time that I am aware of that has happened. Most of the commercials during the show were from Bravo it's self about it's line up and few if any sponsor commercials. Interesting. Wonder what Jackie has to say about that?

You'll notice that Top Chef is on tonight and all day starting at 11 am they are showing reruns of Top Chef, not something else. Very interesting. Jackie, call Dr. Shirley...you are going to need extra therapy time. Oh and by the way...your DVD is now 1/2 price at some book stores.

Hey CY...what was your experience Like with Jackie when you interviewed her? Did she seem concerned or was she full of bravado? I have LOVED the show until the middle of last season. I think the turning point for me was when see made out with Rebecca at the restaurant and then the "other" girl showed up and Jackie just pushed Rebecca out of the way.

Reality does not seem to be one of Ms. Warner's strong points. Perhaps that is how she has gotten herself into the current situation she is in. She is so used to being "the boss" and having everybody do as she orders them to, that she does not expect to be questioned about or held accountable for her words and actions. As has been said, countless times before, but must (unfortunately) be said again, if she had just addressed this issue (like the professional she claims to be) and apologized for the unacceptable things that had been done to the clients in HER gym, from the start, things never would have come to this place!

Dahling, I'm way more than a "cocktail away from being gay". I don't think that any gay person (except for Jackie Warner) is out to snap us straight folks up!! I have worked with lesbians and never felt uncomfortable. I have my gay "boyfriend" that I love so very much and am so proud of for living openly even here in the "buckle of the Bible belt". Jackie is not indicitive of the way most people live, gay or straight, famous or not. She is completely out of her mind!! From one nut job to another, life is good!
The concert was great, except for my one drama child, that got way too drunk and needed her attention fix! We missed our friend's (Zach Harnon) performance, but did catch Reckless Kelly, Jerrod Birmingham and Pat Green. They are all West Texas Country bands, for those not in the know. You can catch all of them on MySpace.com.
I'm so sorry that Liam decided to go back to real life. I wish he could balance us all out, but I do understand.
Love to all, I'm off to go get my step daughter from the airport!

You must be trying to rationalize your poor eating habits. Why am I not surprised. A woman who claims to be a lesbian and then spews hatred about those with AIDS is a sad case in every way.

Anyway here you go you grown woman living with your mother seeking message boards for friendship, this article is old but you can do your own research harpy. Here's ONE article from the Society of Neuroscience. Can you read? Maybe you should write them letters? You have all day don't you?

Jackie doesn't claim to be a nutritionist. She's just not a fatty and is attempting to explain to others why she's not. You don't have to listen to her dear. You can write your own book, 'Why immoral people die from AIDS and how I survive alone in my parent's basement on Sugar' By Kiasmama. Maybe you could sell the rights to Lifetime?

Sugar Addiction Clearly your love for the grocery store's cookie aisle is extreme. Scientists, however, never really thought that a person could become hooked on sweets like they were a drug. Now a batch of findings is making researchers reexamine the concept. The studies, mostly in animals, provide evidence that overeating sweets may share some characteristics of serious addictions. Further insights may lead to new types of eating disorder treatments.

You tried it for Lent, as a New Year's resolution and to shed some pounds before bikini season hit. Yet each time your ban on sweets was derailed by a desire for Ben and Jerry's. Friends who regularly observe your weakness for desserts claim that you're a sugar addict.

Sugar addiction has long been joked about. Most researchers, however, believed you could not get hooked on sweets and lose control over consuming them, as if they were drugs. Now studies compiled over the years are making some scientists revisit the idea. The results do not indicate that donuts are in the same category as addictive drugs like heroin, alcohol or nicotine. They do suggest that some brain actions and characteristics associated with the intake of sweets and drug addiction may overlap. The findings are leading to:
  • A better understanding of how the brain controls food intake and how this system may go awry.
  • New ideas on how to treat people with extreme compulsions to overeat sweets.
Studies that focused on brain chemicals, known as opioids, provided some of the first clues that an overlap may exist between sweets and drugs. Some addictive drugs like heroin or morphine activate the opioid system to produce a pleasurable response that many believe helps fuel a longing for more drugs and is key to the addiction process. In one study, compounds that blocked the activity of opioids made animals less interested in eating meals, particularly sweetened versions. Researchers found similar results in tests of humans with eating disorders like bulimia, marked by a habit of binging on foods that are typically sweet. The blockers cut in half the consumption of sweets packed with sugar and fat including candy bars and cookies. The intake of low sugar, low fat snacks such as popcorn, saltines, breadsticks and pretzels did not decrease. Some believe that the studies hint that sweets, like some drugs, have a pronounced affect on the brain's opioid system (see image), although direct proof is still lacking.

Whether through opioids or some other brain chemical, the scientists suspect that sweets like drugs can activate an "incentive system" in the brain that helps reinforce behaviors. Activation by food is generally beneficial. It makes us want more and keeps us alive. Sweets, however, packed with calories, may create extra activity that helped us in primitive times when food was scarce, but is not needed today. Some also believe that gorging on sweets may alter the system so that it caters to addiction rather than survival, propelling some people to repeatedly binge.

Recent behavioral tests in rats further back the idea of an overlap between sweets and drugs. Drug addiction often includes three steps. A person will increase his intake of the drug, experience withdrawal symptoms when access to the drug is cut off and then face an urge to relapse back into drug use. Rats on sugar have similar experiences. Researchers withheld food for 12 hours and then gave rats food plus sugar water. This created a cycle of binging where the animals increased their daily sugar intake until it doubled. When researchers either stopped the diet or administered an opioid blocker the rats showed signs common to drug withdrawal, such as teeth-chattering and the shakes. Early findings also indicate signs of relapse. Rats weaned off sugar repeatedly pressed a lever that previously dispensed the sweet solution.

Plans are under way to study binge eaters and further determine whether molecular and behavioral signs common to drug addiction exist. If confirmed, the research could lead to new ideas for treating eating disorders. It also may give you more incentive to steer clear of that pint of chocolate fudge brownie. Well maybe.

http://www.sfn.org/index.cfm?pagename=brai..._sugarAddiction
Research indicates that compounds that block opioid receptors, specific nerve cell areas where the opioid chemicals carry out their actions in the brain, can reduce the intake of sweet foods. Although direct proof is still lacking, some scientists believe that this finding indicates that sweets create a release of opioids that activate the receptors and create a pleasurable response. When the reaction is blocked, so is the urge to consume sweets. In addition, it's known that some addictive drugs, like morphine, directly target the opioid receptors and create an intense response. This suggests that there are parallels between drugs and sweets. Drugs, however, likely cause much more powerful actions in the brain.

Sorry you lost your leader but I have a feeling that he was the real thing. Meaning, someone who had true feelings about what he spoke unlike the some of the lonely dredges just trolling around looking for friends and any excuse to espouse their hate.

DrB, I'm really sorry you can no longer have conversations with yourself. I don't think it's healthy. Have you considered "therapy?" laugh.gif

Bye forever you small-minded hapry trolls of hate! I found some photos of your kin but since this harpy isn't obese, it's unlikely that it's actually any of you.

To those who really want to discuss Work Out or Jackie (good or bad), this message board has been hijacked by trolls who will attempt to befriend you for no other reason then their boredom. They'll tell lies to draw you into to their sick little world. Not a word of it is true.

I'm not pointing fingers DrB, just issuing a word of a caution. I would think that most therapists would do the same. In fact, I think many would even suggest that it's not normal to give out so much personal information on a message board to people you don't know. Just sayin.

She just seemed to be who she was. She seemed in a good mood and just answered everything. She didn't back down from my questions in any way.

CY...thanks for posting the interview...I still find it unbelieveable that Ms. Warner continues to defend her position. Even if she herself did not make any comments, she still tolerated her staff doing so. Obviously, as she said, she is not concerned about viewers being upset with her.

I want to thank you so much. You did a wonderful job with the interview, and I want to thank you for taking time to answer my questions. It is a rarity that anyone gets a chance to ask the writer of an article a question. I sincerely thank you for your time and energy you took. smile.gif

I have a question or two, if people have the time.
I was wondering which trainer you would have train you, and why?

I would want Erika as a trainer. She is patient, intelligent, and well versed in training. She is not just eye candy, but a good trainer with great credentials. She is both N.A.S.M and A.C.S.M. certified. (I need the ACSM because of the strength training it pushes, and I do have a disability. My doc recommends it more than the others. This only applies to me. I would think most of you would not have this concern, or problem.) What bothers me the most about some of the other trainers, training is not their lives. They seem to have certificates that 3 days, and 500 dollars will get you.

Gregg is pushing other things, singing I think, and some of the others, just seem to be hanging around for camera time. Jesse I have not figured out yet. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, and he is not cooking. I know a few chefs, and quite a few foodies. They would die before putting anything before that. I wonder why he gave up that passion. He is so devoted to Jackie Warner, and she doesn't seem to appreciate his devotion. The poor thing will never get what he deserves from Jackie because he is a guy.

JC...dying to hear all about Cher...was she just wonderful? rolleyes.gif

I agree, Erika does seem to be very sincere in her desire to actually train people with patience and expertise [sp] rolleyes.gif

I know I'm going to get hate message responses because of this but....
I would pick Jackie!
I've always really liked the bitchy characters on every Tv show (Alexis Carrington, anyone?). And her personal brand of "bring the pain" is just what I would need to get me off my ass and actually moving. LOL
Sorry, I just love bitches. Don't hate me....

I was going to say Jesse but.... I'm afraid I would be too distracted by his boyish good looks and I would be needing his help scrubbing my back in the showers far too often! smile.gif

I don't really care about anyone else on the staff.

Anyway here you go you grown woman living with your mother seeking message boards for friendship, this article is old but you can do your own research harpy. Here's ONE article from the Society of Neuroscience. Can you read? Maybe you should write them letters? You have all day don't you?

Jack123...Kiasmama lives with her mother because she is dying. Why am I not surprised you would so disrespect someone who is in a very hard, low spot in their life. You are just like Jackie, making comments that continually make you look horribly insensitive and mean. Just like what you did to Booglie, you have made fun of someones misfortunes for your own need to hear yourself spew hatred. I don't agree with Kiasmama view on those with AIDS but I would never use her lot in life to dismiss her voice. Kiasmama does not have all day to write letters. Her mother is dying and it takes a majority of her time.

Yes, Al and I use the same Internet provider, we live in the same house.

And there it is! Been waiting hours for you DrB....also...turns out Jack123 has clarified everything! You have a split personality (DrB/Alexrb) and neither one of you is REALLY gay! laugh.gif

Booglie...I would take Erika any day of the week. I do like her workout ethic. She seems to have just the right combination of toughness and compassion.

Now my secret is out. What can I say? I feel horrible for deceiving myself all these years and now I have to go tell my family I have been hiring an actress all these years to play the role of Alex. I'm going to hate giving her up though, she really is good with the dust buster... sad.gif

Here, here...I don't care what your views are, just be respectful when you give them. I was extremely angry at Dacia and posted something that was not respectful and I sent her a PM apologizing for that. I also apologized for calling Jack123 a name on Sat. (I think it was Sat.). I will send him a PM today and see if he responds. I would really like to know where he got the picture of my sister that he used today. I have told her over and over not to take the satan pill before getting her picture taken, but does she listen to me, NO! Oh well, what's a sister to do... blush.gif
