I hope nobody here told you otherwise?

No, just thought it worth confirming, as I had already said you had the right to yours (and it seemed a little confusing that you responded "sure is!" to my assertion that you had the right to like Jackie).

Not only was I not questioning your right I was stating it. Just checking that it went both ways, thats all. I am still just getting to know you, after all, and I just want to make sure I understand what is being comunicated.

Hmmm. How moral of you. Shouldn't you be at a PTA meeting or something?

I'm not a defender of Jackie as much as I am a defender of the First Amendment and the right to conduct your adult life as you see fit within the law. You, however, think you are the police of all moral code and have decided to spend your days and nights ranting about something completely insignificant. Understand the diff sweetie? Even your beloved leader Clayim (Liam) admitted that he (and that would include you) was a nuts for going on like this. I loved how you just sidestepped that admission.

See, I respect your right to speak about whatever you like but many of us like the show and you have decided that only what YOU think is morally correct or right should be allowed on television. That's what I have a problem with and clearly, I haven't been alone. True called you out on your veiled bigotry which Kia ended up revealing as true, Dacia attacked you on your inability to respect Jackies' rights long before I came on board. I agree with everything they said and they're not the only ones.

You don't like cussin? Please. Know what I hate? People who attempt to control my life with their hidden moral agenda. People who think I'm a perv because I'm gay. People like Kia who think that because I'm a [expletive deleted], I must bareback in the bathroom stall. You all claim to be tolerant. It's a lie. If you were tolerant then you would realize that it's just a television show. It's not your life. Jackie is a human. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves second chances but not according to you moral bigots. Nope. You have decided that those of us who actually enjoy the show and use it as pure entertainment on OCCASION, should no longer be allowed to watch it or discuss it. You want it off the air and Jackie destroyed. What's sad is that I'm just repeating the same thing that others have already said here but you're totally intolerant to anyone's difference or disagreement.

Yep. I'm the mean one. No cussin. WTF? How OLD are you? No cussin. Okay, harpy of hate, go to church and get the F off the message boards!

Kia, Doug's ex-partner was HIV+, I wonder what Doug would have thought of your comments? Would you care to expound upon it?

Boog-when I said my colorful post a ways back was the Flag of our Nation. I thought you understood because you were "gay." However, it was totally lost on you. You then went on some rant about the US Flag (and that's great. I'm a proud American) but I'm not totally certain of your orientation. You're a nice gal. You don't have to be "gay" to talk to people about a gay show. I hope you find your way dear. Friendships on message boards are not healthy or safe but I'm guessing most of you know that. You simply have no other options.

I sure would hate to know that anyone here would hate gays. I think that would be awful. My sis is gay--------------we are going to Key West next weekend, for gay pride. Can't wait!!!
Like I said, I would love to discuss the show with you. It is my ever humble opinon that nobody has the right to kick you off the board, or make you feel like you are trespassing just because you have a different opinion. I guess some people here don't like Jackie, and that is fine. But, we can all discuss the show, right?

I don't want to sound mean, but I though Ol' sally kirkland was dead?? YIKES!! I have to watch it. I am so pissed i missed the last episode.

Oh she's alive! I thought the last episode was boring. Next one should be pretty good.

Gregg B. performed on the last show. He's good but I'm not sure the world needs another Lenny Kravitz.

Jackie and her mom. I think Jackie is pretty good with her mom. She wants love and I can see why she has such bad relationships. It comes from that rejection. She's looking for love but will destroy before getting hurt. I can understand that. As a a gay latino, I was quickly abandoned by most of my family when I was outed. Yes, outed. I didn't want to be disowned by them so I tried to hide it. Not so easy. If you met me, you'd understand. I see it everyday. People who have been harshly judged will often mask their pain with a cold toughness. I see this in Jackie. I don't know her. Maybe she's just crazy. Either way, the SHOW presents something familiar to me.

You know, I think her mother is jealous of her. I know it sounds freakish, but that is what I get from her. Maybe I am crazy. I am sorry that you were outed. People are really sick. I know too, in the latin community, it is sometimes harder to be out. Kind of that machismo thing, maybe (I don't want to offend you, please tell me if I have). So, its hard, I am sure. but, man. I think, at this point, that point is moot. I mean, there aint gonna be an apology! Right or wrong. So, maybe we need to discuss things outside of that. A lot of back posts mention this, and it goes on forever. But, that is not going to happen. So, we should move on and maybe discuss those things happening now (not that I can, since I missed the show). I don't mean to sound rude, but its hard to emote on a board....but, truly, that is how it is. The apology is not going to happen. As much as some want it. So, we would be best served to move away from that since its kind of a dead issue at this point.

You are not the only one who can not duscuss the current happenings on the show as many (not all) of us have not seen it since the episode in question, so we are somewhat limited to discussion of past happenings on Work Out. But most of us have seen over two seasons of it, so hapily there is much to discuss!

I am curious as to why you are so sure it is "not going to happen". Perhaps I am an eternal optimist, but I think there is always at least a little hope!

Not so true Nici. When I first showed up, you were attacing a poster who was on your side I believe. You went batsh1t crazy on her because she said the Peeler was an idiot. He/She was someone who didn't like Jackie but that wasn't okay enough for you! You went nutso on her as have many of you whenever someone has posted an opinion that you think is INCORRECT! Per usual, I don't have time to play your games but I think I'll definitely spend some time digging some of those up for you later and reposting. M'kay! wink.gif

I'm the mean one and Jackie's the liar. Check yourself babe. You post so much, you're forgetting what you said and did.

First don't call me sweetie, I'm not your sweetie.
Second I believe if you actually read my posts, you will see that I have said Jackie is human after all. And that I was truly inspired by her in the first 2 seasons.
And third I'm not a member of the pta, because they are intolerant (in my neck of the woods) of any member that is not of a "normal" family and since I've been divorced (yes they are that bad) I'm not normal.
Yes it is just a show, a show that I was a proud supporter of. Now not so much. Yes anyone CAN say anything they want (my husband fought in the military for 20 years for you to have that right), but that does not mean that they SHOULD say anything they want. No one wants to stop your freedom of speech. Just state your opinion in a civil manner.

Well, since it has not happened, I doubt very much it will. I think it is alive only on this board (the issue of the apology) and not in her life currently.

THANK YOU for finally posting something to discuss! I haven't been able to watch, I have admitted to recording the show and watching it, I'm still hooked, and our hotel doesn't have Bravo, but from the last time with her mom, I could see why she would be the way she is in relationships. It would be very hard to trust when you feel judged by your own family. I'm sorry for your experience. Seriously we're not all out to get you. Why do you think she has such a problem dealing with men. I did appreciate the way she dealt with Greg P, but you can tell she doesn't trust men very much. She likes the gay men more, but still not much trust. Maybe because of her father and way he was before he died?

Chef...As long as I have a voice and a view, the point is not moot. Why should it be? I am a consumer, I am a viewer who has chosen to not watch, I am a writer of letters, I am a voice. Apparently my voice has made a difference because Tuesday Work Out showed only in it's time spot and did not have a 'marathon' as is the norm. Wednesday, Top Chef was on from 11am CST and was repeated last night and now tonight. Work Out will not be on again until Sat and only for 2 hours. Why do you think that is? If you do get the chance to see the show you will notice mostly Bravo shows were advertised during the show and few, if any companies.

So...until Jackie apologizes, I do not think this is a dead issue. If that does not happen, it will be a dead show. Therefore, I don't think it is a moot point. Money (advertising money) speaks volumes!

NO no no! YOu don't offend me at all. Probably just depends on your family and what they've been exposed to but boys are the center of the world in my culture and you better be a strong boy and then a strong man capable of taking care of the family. (I would like to point out that homosexuals are very capable of taking care of their family) I think it's a bigger issue with the men than the women. I don't judge them for being fearful or ashamed. It's how they were raised and it takes time. I only know the pain of being shut out. You don't stop having feelings because you're gay. I do have a number of friends who have very good relationships with their families no matter the culture. That's what's great about this country. It has allowed many to be more open in their hearts. It wouldn't happen in other places.

Jackie's mom jealous? Maybe. From what we know about her life, it was pretty sad and bleak. Jackie escaped from that and made her own life. Yes, I can see why her mother would have some resentment toward that. She probably never wanted Jackie to leave her. Yes, I can see that it is probably more than the sexuality issue.

That's a good point. I do think she has a problem dealing with men who try to challenge her. But, you know what? I have heard men talk about lesbians in a very negative way. They think I am one of them as far as that goes, and they are awful. so, she probably got a lot of that crap, and its just so hard. My sis is a model and NOBODY believes it when she says she is gay (stupid), so she never had to deal with that because she was not out to most people. but, I know some stories about how men have treated other gay women and MAN. No wonder they are reticent of some men...

I thought Jackie's Dad committed suicide either before she was born or when she was really young...
I can see how she has a great dislike for straight guys...
Anyone know if there was a step-dad involved?

I understand about the Latino culture. I work with a closeted individual that people constantly talk about. He works in another part of the state, but I've heard the talk and the comments. I know that he takes care of all of his sisters and their children. He works 2 jobs so that his mother can be taken care of. He is a truly wonderful man who basically lives only for his family.
I wonder how much of Jackie is because of her father and losing him so early. Also he had PTSD from Vietnam and that can't have been an easy childhood. I do think she could have some lingering anger issues.

I am glad I didn't offend! You are right, homosexuals are VERY capable of taking care of their family. Its pretty sick that they are judged just because they are attracted to the same sex. Its so archaic. When will it stop??? Yuck.
There is just something that creeps me about Jackies mom. I can't put my finger on it. I think Jackie is great to accept her MOM. I mean, she would have every right to shut her out, you know?

That's a good point. I do think she has a problem dealing with men who try to challenge her. But, you know what? I have heard men talk about lesbians in a very negative way. They think I am one of them as far as that goes, and they are awful. so, she probably got a lot of that crap, and its just so hard. My sis is a model and NOBODY believes it when she says she is gay (stupid), so she never had to deal with that because she was not out to most people. but, I know some stories about how men have treated other gay women and MAN. No wonder they are reticent of some men...

I can see that how that would happen and it would be hard to have to deal with the "good ol boys" that don't understand women in positions of power that don't find them attractive.

Yeah, its sad that he had PTSD..I think she actually said it was schizophrenia that emerged as a result of the trauma. Really sad. I mean, those things are hard, and to put them on tv, that has to be hard too.
What a horrible thing, to have people talk about you because you are gay. People are horrid sometimes.

I thought Jackie's Dad committed suicide either before she was born or when she was really young...
I can see how she has a great dislike for straight guys...
Anyone know if there was a step-dad involved?

I think he killed himself when she was 19, and living in California. She had to go back to Ohio for the funeral.

If you don't watch/support the show, then why hang out on its message board? Its absurd. You apparently have no plans to watch it again, so why not move on with your life?

I have addressed this in an earlier post, but will gladly do it again, despite the rude way in which it was asked. I am here because I am a loyal Bravo viewer who has watched several seasons of this show and has an opinion about this show that I want to express. Bravo puts these boards up so that it's viewers can discuss it's shows, that is what I am doing, and I am well within my rights to do so. I also am in the right place to express to Bravo, an opinion from one of it's loyal viewers. You see, being an optimist, I still believe both Ms. Warner and Bravo can do the right thing, and I hope both of them will. What Bravo (especially) chooses to do about this, will effect whether I remain a loyal viewer (this is not the only show on thier network I watch, I have and do watch quite a few of it's shows, as a matter of fact!). So, I stay here, discussing this show, and interacting with other of their viewers in hopes that I and we will be heard and that this issue will be addressed. I wish to remain a loyal viewer of Bravo's, their action on this will help me decide whether I will or not. This is the correct place to do that.

Those are my reasons. I choose to share them. I do not owe them to you or anyone else. I would not presueme to ask you to "move on with your life" as I know nothing about your life and have nothing to say about what you choose to do with it. I would ask the same courtesy from you.

Now, many have come on this board and said that people have not been welcoming and have asked them to leave for having an opposing view, and have acted like they own the board. I do not necessarily agree with this claim (as it has been paired with name calling, swearing and other rhetoric), but Bravo owns this board. No poster or group of posters does. And Bravo is the only one who can rightfully ask someone to leave. We all agreed to certain things when we signed up for these boards. If posters are breaking these rules, we can report them to the moderator and ask them to intervene. Bravo Board Boss is the only one who can throw someone off the boards.

Well her dad was mentally ill so I don't know how much they really communicated. It was most likely a stressful life growing up. I can't say why she wouldn't like men. That sounds weird coming from me but I wouldn't have liked Brian either. She seems to get along well with Gregg B and he's straight. Peeler was pushy and seemed to be completely unaware of his surroundings. I don't care if she's Godzilla. It's her gym. She can do and say what she wants. There are people who create their own success and those who try to ride on their coat tails and others who try to tear them down. Hey, she did it. He didn't do it. He was cast on the show. I didn't know he was a highschool dropout until the article was posted here. Maybe Brian's mental instability and lack of education reminded Jackie of A. her father or B. the idiot bully boys she knew growing up. Peeler admitted to being a bully. Since he left school in his sophomore year of high school, he must have been a very young possibly cruel bully. I wouldn't be surprised if he did tap into some horrible memory for her. He tapped into mine that's for sure. Anyone who has been harrassed or had the crap beat out of them can smell that kind of ignorance from a mile away.

Well, she has been good with both Gregs and I don't remember if we've seen her around many other straight men. Maybe she just doesn't like angry uneducated straight men? They scare me too.

I guess you can keep writing about it, but it won't change. that is my point. after awhile, its like beating a dead horse, in that there is nothing that it will accomplish. I am not, in any way saying you dont have a right to keep on writing about it, but I think it hampers the discussion somewhat since it has been written about forever on this board and nothing is changing. So, maybe opening the board to fresher happenings would be nice too. but, still, you can keep it alive....I am not saying you cant!

I think he killed himself when she was 19, and living in California. She had to go back to Ohio for the funeral.

I can not immagine how awful that was for her. I was so glad to see her and her mom get together at her dad's gravesite and just be able to talk about him. And cry together. Jackie said she had never had the chance to cry for him. When you are a teen you have not even formed your own self yet, and to loose your parent at such a formative time... I felt so bad for her! And was proud of what she had been able to do with a start like that.

Thats what makes me so sad now, she seems to have changed, to be loosing herself, or the one I thought I knew. She has so much going for her, so much potential (and more than potential) but she seems to be slef-distructing...

Chefpapa...Why do you keep trying to get others to move on from this board? Do you have an agenda? I am here because the board that was started to discuss the issue of Jackie was shut down and those who had opinions about the episode in question came here. If you want to discuss the newest episode (that you have not seen) then go to that board. But I have an agenda...I have an opinion about the personification of Jackie as it relates to her treatment of others, of her lying, of her portraying lesbians as having revolving doors on their pussies. That is my agenda. So I will not be moving on until she apologizes or the show is removed. If that makes me a bad lesbian, I could care less. She has hurt the cause by her junior high behavior more than Pat Robertson(sp?).
