But this? No, I disagree about fighting for it. I mean, turn off the tv then. Join the american cancer society and really fight. They need volunteers. I just did a relay for them, and believe me, they can use more volunteers. So, that is where the fight is, not here, on workout.

As I prefaced my post earlier: "It doesn't matter what the issue or issues are, if someone thinks it's important enough to fight for or against, they have that right. It also doesn't mean that's the only issue someone fights for, or believes in."

Everyone has their own beliefs in what they want to fight for or against. It also doesn't mean that just because one fights for a cause, that's the only cause they are fighting for. I'm certainly not going to tell you that your cause is the ONLY one that should be looked at, nor will I belittle anyone's belief in what is important to them. I would expect that same respect in return.

I don't need to justify what I feel here by also saying what else I'm involved in or what other causes I have. How do you know I'm not an advocate for the autistic, or for breast cancer, or for seeing eye dogs? I am, but that has nothing to do with how I feel about the Jackie's conduct or this show. Those are for other forums and fights. I'm posting here about Work Out, not other causes. Isn't that what you are asking for, talking about Work Out?

Sucking the life out of this board? Bravo shut down the two forums for Season 3, we're posting in the Reunion Show for Season 2. ROFL. I mean, what board are you talking about? There are a ton of other boards/forums to talk in, like the general board: "Work Out: Episodes".

I think we've been rather inconspicuous posting under last year's board. LOL

..and, sure it could go on for weeks or months, but imo, it sucks the life out of this board, thats all. Plus, when someone new comes on, the territorial ones freak out and push them awy. That is why its not good. And, to protest a show is one cause that should be shifted to other things in the world. My neighbor is fighting a horrible disease. I wish money could be raised for it (I don't know the name of it as I sit here) and those people that are fighting for those people are angels. Or, MDA, or cancer. Those are the true soldiers, and warriors. But this? No, I disagree about fighting for it. I mean, turn off the tv then. Join the american cancer society and really fight. They need volunteers. Okay, Chef-hi, Skates here, one of the quiet lurkers, and let me ask you something after this quote. What if your neighbor had gone to work out and gotten ridiculed by the owner of the gym because of how they looked? Or one of the employees?

How about if you, as the trainer found out and went to talk to the boss about it and got rejected for asking about it. Then fired because you pushed the issue.

That's the main issue here.

Thanks Larceny and Skates for staying in there. I am continually disappointed by those posters who claim they wish to just have a respectful debate and within minutes jump on the Jack123 wagon of spewing personal attacks. mellow.gif

Good Morning Alex....are you catching up on the latest poisonous, personal attacks that took place last night? Nice! Unbelievable to me that anyone could launch such vicious personal attacks on anyone.

Hey fgnelson...sort-of. D told me when I had time to go back and read the last day or so. Our plane is delayed out of Moscow so I thought I would check. Does anyone know who Chefdaddy123 is? He/she sounds a lot like Jack123 but maybe that is coincidence. Why is he so set on having y'all move to a yahoo board? In one of his post he said something about his wife being on yahoo and they were really mean on there. Who would want to go from the frying pan into the fire? Good luck to his wife if she comes after D. She won't win. Trust me I know from experience. How is Florida? Glad to see Liam back.

Florida is sunny and beautiful today. Yes, Liam made a couple of brief visits and Farmgirl finally showed up. Please tell DrB how sorry I am that she was attacked yet again last night. Hope she makes an appearance today. You guys seem like such a nice couple and DrB entertains me with her humor.

Don't mean to jump between your conversation with another, but Chefdaddy was referring to the "personal" issues, i.e.: catnip, weddings, etc. From what I understood from his posts, he wanted just Work Out discussion, but didn't want any anti-Jackie discussions as he felt it was played out. Hence, my several early morning posts that went on and on LOL

He suggested all the "personal" conversations move to Yahoo.

You are right. I must say, I was not welcomed by a few because of my opinion liking jackie. But, there were some that were nice, so I stayed. I think that this board should be used to discuss the show, like I said in the beginning. there are yahoo sites for those that want to discuss their lives and loves...I am not being rude..I just think that sometimes a group forms and they tend to become very protective of the group and dont want outsiders. This board should not be used for that purpose. Yahoo is the perfect place for that (my wife is in one, a moms group....man, they are brutal to newcomers. Not cool, I try to tell my wife that) because people can be really open to everything and even plan events, etc. Just my opinion....

Well if you think about it, it was when Jack opened up about his experiences was when we actually started a dialogue and I personally got an understanding of where he was coming from. I'm glad that we discuss our lives, I think it gives all of us an understanding of where we are coming from. Maybe we get a little crazy here and there, but isn't that just life? Any hoo I am really glad that I got to have a discussion with Jack and it was very brave of him to open up the way hed did. I really appreciate hearing about where he was coming from and his life perspectives.

Andre still works for SkySport & Spa. I think the producers didn't find Andre interesting or maybe he just didn't want to be on the show but he's still a trainer there. There are some very attractive and qualified trainers on the SkySport website and yet, the producers still cast people from the outside.

I'm not sure why you would care? I'm sure she has some trust issues. I think a lot of people do. You're so up in Jackie's ass and her business in addition to the over generalized business of gay men, I'm not sure who you are to question any of it? I think it's strange that someone overly concerened with a this woman's business is questioning her actions?

You think that all adults who contract AIDS deserve to die and now you question someone struggling with trust? Who are you? Are you God? I would love to see your life on camera but hours of you sitting in your mother's basement probably wouldn't provide a great deal of entertainment.

To everyone complaining that as a consumer, they have rights. Please tell me which Amendment that is. I'm unfamiliar because I thought that as a consumer, you have the CHOICE to buy or not to buy. That's very different from spreading hate, disdain and attempting to destroy someone's life. We live in a free market society. That means, you don't have to buy or watch.

Do some of you know why I call you harpies? I'm sure you know what harpies are but mostly, I think of the harpies in His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. If you've read those books, you know exactly what I'm talking about and it would be hard for you to argue that you behave any differently than they do. (they fly around with their blood-stained lips and whisper the sinful thoughts and lies that the dead made while living. For all eternity, they don't allow the dead to rest or forget their mistakes. No one can escape it. Not even the most pious for the harpies are relentless. Get it? They are miserable creatures who live for casting eternal misery on others.)

MommaKelly, I'm sorry if you think I'm being overly mean but I've seen some awful things said on this board and it's always rationalized and justified in the name of "values" or something as equally as lame. Yes, it makes me angry but Kiasmama comments about AIDS sent me right over the edge. It was unacceptable. It makes me turn into the guy on Seinfeld, "WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING THE RIBBON" Puerto Ricans had that episode banned but you know what! That's as close to me as anyone I've ever seen on TV! I thought it was wrong to ban that episode and I think it's wrong to ban Work OUt.

I understand about the AIDS comments, they upset me also. No one deserves that disease any more than people deserve to get cancer. I like you a lot better when you open up and talk about your experiences and give me your insights on Jackie.
I think Jackie has (had) trust issues with Brianna because of her own behavior. Jackie wasn't exactly Ms. Faithful, so she is turning it around on her partner. What do you think?
Does anyone know how Doug's ex partner Cheo (sp) is doing? I pray for him and hope that he is doing well.

Well, I do the best I can given the double life and all. It's really quite tiring, but someone has to do it. I wonder if I have to give back all the money? Hummmmm...Things to ponder.

Alex...I would say hi to you but Chefboy doens't want chit-chat on a posting board. wub.gif

So...these are my issues with Jackie Warner and the show workout.

1. She uses her position of authority and power to exploit others for her sexual gain.

2. She participated in a conversation about a client and lied about that her role or Lisa lied about it. She has yet to apologize for her words and her role in the afore mentioned issue.

3. She promotes herself as a strong lesbian woman in the world of business but her ethics that she maintains in that business are nothing short of atrocious. Kissing female employees, cussing at employees, talking about clients in derogatory ways.

These are the issues I have with Jackie Warner and the show Work Out. I will continue to write letters, I will continue to voice my issues on this site and I will gladly debate the issues but if and when I am attacked I want to make it clear, I will land on your head like a ton of bricks. Be forwarned.

QUOTE (DrB @ May 29, 2008 - 09:17 PM) *
In my opinion, there is a disconnect between Jackie and her Mom because her Mom, just like mine, believes that homosexuality is a sin and we are going to hell for being gay. Jackie wants her mother to change and her mother wants her to change. Hugh disconnect. If you go back and read my past post, you will see that there comes a point when you just have to let people be where they are and know what boundaries are necessary to maintain your own sense of stability.

Alex and I renewed ours vows this past March and my mother did not come and I knew she wouldn't but I still was devastated because I want her to accept me as she does my siblings.

It saddens me that a parent can't accept a child they way that they are. Maybe she feels guilty, maybe she thinks she caused Jackie to be gay? As parents we are constantly questioning how we have handled situations. I always tell my oldest she was my guinea pig child!! Just kidding, but really it has to be hard as the parent to feel disconnected from your child. I believe in God and I don't feel that a merciful God would condemn people since he made them they way they are. Homosexuality is not a choice, Lord knows if it was, most would not choose it, because there is so much prejudice in the world and it is literally chosing the hard path. If you are born a homosexual, isn't that how God made you? My opinion any way.

Ah, a new round begins. I wonder if there is more than board graffiti on the walls at Bravo headquarters? There could be a series of memos and action papers making the rounds that foreshadow the end of Work Out. I would initial them. Not for the concept, not for the show that was promoted prior to Season One ... any program director worth their salt could have seen the potential. Let's imagine the pitch:

• Positive portrayal of exercise and healthy living against the backdrop of a trendy high-end gym, where employees showcase their own work-out regimens and adapt them for clients

• Diverse training staff led by a successful business woman who is gay and fully self-actualized.

• Behind the scenes film of client-trainer follow-ups, life changes and interpersonal relationships

• Continuing focus on core group of physically hampered clients and their constant struggle to overcome unhealthy habits

• Close-up instruction on specific aerobic and strength exercises

• Built-in advertising potential from expanding wellness market and spot-advertising from guest appearances

Who wouldn't leap at the chance to air such a program, particularly in today's climate of health consciousness? After 2-1/2 seasons, how much of the "pitch" remains? Was the original concept sent flying off the tracks almost immediately? There had to be a breaking-in episode, where "the cast" was introduced, but, as I recall the first show, the emphasis went right to talking-point 2 (Ms. Warner and her inter-personal relationships) and never fully developed anything else.

I say keep the concept, terminate the cast, and start fresh. Star Trek had to re-tool how many times before it became a franchise phenomenon? (Silly analogy, I know, but most are on the surface.)

As to the show that has actually aired (something that might have been developed into a successful summer blockbuster, filled with sex, angst and hard-bodies), I wonder if the teaser might be misdirection. I immediately thought this is going to explain Ms. Warner's comment about wishing Rebecca had stayed out of her personal life. Could this be where she (Rebecca) puts a textgnat in Brianna's ear about the "cruise"? Doesn't matter ... it all works better as a movie than reality TV.

My husband and kind of keep our own stuff private. He works out of state so much that if I didn't trust him i would be crazy wondering what he was doing. Since it is both a third time around for us, we don't worry about stuff like that.

I feel so bad for her having to watch and/or hear about all that Jackie was doing behind her back. She is just too young to be looking so worried. Every time I see her on the show it reminds me of how it was with my ex husband. Kind of wondering if this is it, are they going to go crazy, are they going to leave? It's a very stressful way to live.

Jack123 here are some great articles about The First Amendment and Freedom of Speech.

Freedom of Speech on the Internet
In a rare 9-0 decision, the Supreme Court extended the full protection of the First Amendment to the Internet in Reno vs. ACLU, a decision which struck down portions of the 1996 Communications Decency Act...
The court's decision identified the Internet as a "free speech zone," and extended the same Constitutional protections given to books, magazines, films, and spoken expression to materials published on the Internet.

Internet censorship and freedom of thought
A Screenshot of a blocked website in Iran.

A current example of censorship and therefore attempted suppression of freedom of thought, is the control of information on the world wide web in such countries as Iran, Saudi Arabia, UK, Egypt, China, Germany and others. In October 2006, Iranian mullahs ordered internet service providers to reduce connection speeds for home and café computers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_information

Freedom of information (or information freedom) may refer to:
  • whether particular information can be freely created, read, modified, copied and distributed—see Free content (as well as Free Culture movement and Free software);
  • freedom to express one's opinions or ideas, generally, within a society—see Freedom of speech;
  • the accessibility of government-held information—see Freedom of information legislation (as well as Open government).
Are these the First Amendment Rights you were talking about?

I guess kinda of disappointed cause I thougt some day it would be great to get enough $ to work out or apply for to attend Skylab.

Micah is an actor? Are they casting the clients as well now? Sad, there are so many actual people that could benefit from training with some of the trainers.

Quick fly-by. I had to see if anyone else was getting "exercised" by producers suggesting one thing then showing the opposite. It appears that Brianna is the one disrespecting, but previous behavior makes that highly unlikely ... gotta' be Rebecca. So much drama, so little substance.

I wholeheartedly agree. I wouldn't wish Aids on an anyone. NO ONE deserves the devastation of that illness, or any illness for that matter.

I did understand where SHE was coming from, her frustration over the matter. I mean, Aids Awareness has been promoted for years now, along with the importance of using condoms, etc. I mean, we can't force individuals to not have unprotected sex, but it IS frustrating when they don't. If you truly read her experiences I think that speaks for itself where she is coming from. At least I could feel her pain with her involvement over the matter.

Do I equate frustration though to deserving? NO.

anyway, done posting and subjecting others to my long winded verbiage. Heading out to the airport to pick up the hubby. He's in for a surprise with our outstanding Florida weather, since he's coming from Chicago.

Snagfuss, there are so many horrible media wh*res out there. I don't even pay attention to any of them anymore. Peeler is one, Paris is one, even Ellen is one. Yes, one could easily call Jackie a media wh0re but since not many people know who she is, I'd say she's either much less a media W or maybe just a very unsuccessful one.

I would rather discuss the show. Jackie is stressed. She wanted success but she's terrified. She's not anywhere near the fitness level she was when she started. Briana was just a quick emotional fix for Jackie. She seems like a very intelligent girl but she's not perfect. Jackie's back with Mimi now. Anyone who works in the mental health field knows this pattern. Jackie is recreating chaos. It's comforting to her. If pain is all you know, then pain is comforting. It takes years to change this sort of pattern. I would love to see Jackie try EMDR. I roll my eyes a lot at this kind of therapy but everyone swears by it.
I read Renessa's blog and have concluded that she is a snide little idiot. Where is this girl's child? If Jackie was behaving this way and then blogging about how her impulsive behavior is how she lives her life in the moment or some bullsh1t like that, you'd be on a war path about what a horrible skank mother Jackie is! I feel sorry for that child! Mommy is just another hollywood skank tryin' to make it big. It's not going to happen. The girl is cute but barely has two brain cells to rub together. I guess that's why she likes Peeler. She can relate on his level.
Greg P is an attractive robot. Rebecca is just as much a media [expletive deleted] but I like her. You have to see her and her "boyfriend" on The Amazing Race III to really appreciate her. She's beyond b1tch on that show and it's very entertaining.
I have to go now.

Snagfuss, I would never "Flame" back at you. wink.gif

There was a book that I had to read after my 2nd divorce. It was called Women Who Love too Much. It basically goes through what your talkig about with Jackie. That some women (me) associate love with that roller coaster feeling. That sick feeling in the pit of your stomach that makes you want to fix everything. We pick men/women that we think we can save. As you go through the book, you see that love is not a roller coaster, and you learn to stop your pattern of choosing bad partners. That the good ones aren't boring (because you don't have that sick feeling) but are stable. Not a great synopsis, but I can totally see where you are coming from regarding Jackie.
Still don't like the name calling, not nice at all.

There is one kid named Peglam who I am pretty sure is a pimply faced teenager that got bored with World of Warcraft online gaming and "Granny Tranny" porn sites and came on here to rile everyone up.
But I recognize his kind from the AICN website, we just shout out "Nerd Alert" and ignore him. Other than that there are a few heated debates that I'm trying to steer clear of....

that is too funny! Can't believe you recognize his name!! Did you ever corner him?

That was way too funny. I think you may be right!

Wow.. the mean spirited personal attacks against those that are protesting Jackie's actions on the show has just gotten so out of hand. Our entire country is based on the right to protest and demand changes, and everyone here has the right to protest for, or against, something they believe in. It doesn't matter what the issue or issues are, if someone thinks it's important enough to fight for or against, they have that right. It also doesn't mean that's the only issue someone fights for, or believes in.

I would of been more than willing to give Jackie a second chance if she had ever asked for it or even apologized. The majority of people are good people and willing to forgive, but you can't forgive someone who never takes responsibility for their actions and asks for forgiveness. In fact, a person who goes on and lies about their participation and feels it was no big deal to make fun of another woman's body on national television in their own gym. Why should anyone forgive and move on when that person sees nothing wrong with what they've done? How can anyone forgive that?

If people don't want to drop the Jamie incident until an apology is given, they have that right. If people feel strongly enough about it and want to push for the show to be canceled, they have that right too. Just as the people who think otherwise, they too have the right to support it, but geez, support it without name calling, accusing posters of things they have no idea as to whether it's true or not , or saying they have no right to protest in any way.

Just because people are angry and upset with Jackie, doesn't make them anti-gay or evil people. From what I've seen, it makes them people who don't want to see another human being verbally degraded on national tv; on a program that they watch that is advertised supposedly about building one's mental and physical well being.

Just because you disagree doesn't mean that others should move on or drop what they feel is important. If we all dropped issues that we believe in, then change would never happen.

Well said.

Well, I do the best in can given the double life and all.

Honey you give Alex all the love you want on this site!
Those are the issues I also have with Jackie. I know they need drama on the show, but damn did she really have to go overboard with it? I wish she would see herself as an average viewer does. Hollywood can really screw with your head, she needs to get away from there for awhile get back to a normal life.

I strongly disagreed with some of Kias comments as well, however there are ways to voice your disagreement without resorting to the inexcusable personal attack by Jack123 on post # 3717.

I totally agree with you. However I will say that Jack and I have had some good conversations regarding the show. I'm not supporting the name calling and rude tone, but when speaking directly to him we had a great dialogue about his life and why he feels the way he does. He is just a bit too passionate, just as some of us are.
I would like to tone down the venom though.

Whew I think I'm caught up now. Seems I missed a lot. So DrB you are now not 1-A lesbian, 2-a therapist and 3-a cat owner? Sorry didn't get it all. Oh my goodness can't we all just get a long?? Any way, I saw Alex on, hope she has a great flight home. Got to spend some time with 4 out of 6 kids last night! Yea, after next month we will have 4 kids in college! What an amazing job, patting myself (and my husband) on the back right now!

Passion is one thing, but resorting to the horrible personal attacks in an effort to intimidate and embarress someone whos views you disagree with is inexcusable. Why not take the high road and use these incidents as an opportunity to educate and dispell the ignorance?

I agree with you, but we don't all have the same happy life experiences and some people when pushed resort to that kind of behavior. It's not right, but it's how some people react. If you think about it, Brian Peeler, has kind of the same gut reaction when pushed at. I'm not excusing it, I'm just trying to understand where people are coming from.

I think Jack123 would do well to understand that the minute he begins with the poisonous attacks he loses all credibility. And any point he is trying to make is instantly devalued. Regardless of one's experiences it is still possible to express yourself without resorting to such tactics.

Yes that's true, most of the time I would not even attempt contact with someone that continues to browbeat and name call. I just feel like if you can't speak without that, your not intelligent enough to speak with. It's true I didn't take him seriously until he actually opened up. I don't normally read all of his posts, because they are so nasty, but have found some insight into what makes him tick.
HOWEVER there is no need for personal attacks at all.

Oh, I will. Very rarely do I get pushed the way I have by some on these boards but that is changing today. If you go back and read the post that I gave in the very beginning, one of the first questions I asked was why was everyone so angry at Jackie. I just was curious by the level of anger. I joined the boards the day after the Jamie incident took place because I was shocked by the whole ordeal and Jackie lying to Brianna about the cruise. I didn't know at that time Jackie lied about the Jamie incident until she blogged later that day. Again either Lisa is lying or Jackie is. I want to know who lied.

I was accused by Dacia of not being a real lesbian because I was dissappointed with Jackie's behavior and she suggested I spend time with things that really matter. When I listed for her the issues Alex and I are involved with, suddenly she knew for sure I wasn't gay because I knew TOO much about the LGBT issues. Which do you want...I know about the issues or that I don't know too much about the issues?

Fg-You're welcome. I'm one of those people who do know it is a TV SHOW, but the attitude presented afterward is unnerving. Does anyone remember life before reality TV? I once had the chance to have a long talk with Judd Winnick, who was on the third season of "The Real World" on MTV.

There was more realism on that show than this one, watching Pedro deteriate before your eyes was more educational than most shows and I got the chance to thank him for being the voice of reason on that show. I think that stunned him, but he remembered me for that the next year we met up at the same event.

Sadly, the voice of reason on this show was Doug. Everyone else, with the exception of Gregg Plitt and Brian Peeler is a yes person to Jackie. Sad, isn't it?

The drama is real life. It's a shame that Jackie doesn't want to face it since she's in control of the show.

Jack, I see your reasons for your anger, but Kisamma has asked you several times to produce evidence of your anger in her post. Have you found that post? I know she'll answer you to the best of her ability if you don't mind pointing out what the problem is. She's entitled to her opinion, as you are yours, hence the first amendment comments by many, including you, but to strengthen conversation, why not tell her exactly what the problem was you had with her post.

Who cares what Dacia thinks? She's just jealous she's not having as much fun with a cool chick like Alex and a she doesn't have a goat-cat to force cat nip on!
I also want to know the truth about what happened, but we may never know. At least we have a chance to discuss our feelings and opinions about the show and life the way we see it. How lucky for you to get to meet and talk to Judd. I loved Pedro and cried so much when he died. He gave us all hope for a better world. He was a beautiful person inside and out. Judd was so open and as you have said the voice of reason. Sadly since Doug (as you said the voice of reason) is gone, there just isn't reason. As I've said Hollywood is an unreal world and some times the people that live there need to step back and figure out how to live normally.

I was at one of Pedro's fundraiser, he was so uplifting even when he knew he was dying...

Thank you for your response to Jack and Chef.....

If Doug were still alive he probably would have left Workout this season with all of the drama....

More I think that Doug would have asked her WTH she was thinking, pulled her aside over the Eason stuff and told her to get a room when they were having dinner where her and Brianna were making out. He had an element of class that the show now lacks.

That's what I liked about Doug. He was classy. You liked the person that he was, didn't care about what his sexual preference was and noticed that he was best friend to his clients.

And you're welcome JC, nice to see you.

He then does a google search on Kia (pot call kettle black) who is obsessed.

I didn't agree with allot of things she was saying regarding HIV. However I saw her point, Why put yourself at risk when there are ways to protect yourself from transmission of HIV.

She made her point and even apologized for offending others. I cannot fault someone for an opinion expressed with a different belief.... She was also volunteering with an a HIV prevention group.
