but some of us DEAL with those so called demons. Even though I have depression, which you've so clearly pointed out, I make a decision, a choice on how I want to deal with that depression. I can sit around and use it as an excuse for snapping at people, or and excuse to sit on my butt and collect a check, but I don't.

I've been living with depression for about 15 years now. It was a struggle at first, but a great therapist, medication and the desire to change, got me where I am today (which is a lot better off than a lot of "so called" healthy people) I made the CHOICE to change my behavior. I DID what needed to be done. Frankly I think that puts me in a better spot to give an opinion on jackie's lack of change. I've DONE it. I walked what I am talking about. Jackie hasn't. She's using her poor decision making as a blame game.

I think what you said about Jackie is dead on.

He did some cooking with the Sky Lab clients one season - I thought that was very cool. Taching them how to cook and eat healthy (that was using his talent - and he seemed to really enjoy it - and the clients did too!) and it is a skill that people need to have to maintian the healthy way of living they are working toward. I never did understand why they stopped doing that. It seemed like such a good fit!

I mean really, It is great to have meals delivered, but how may people can affoard to continue to do that? And they have not learned new habits, so will probably just return to old bad habits when the meals stop being delivered...

I do wonder why Jackie brought on that chef, when she had one in house???????

There's nothing shameful about mental illness and depression. You can't control brain chemistry, misfiring synapases or life crapola that is difficult to deal with. I take anti-depressants myself.

Calling people "mentally ill" has been used as a weapon several times on this board. Prejudice against psychological problems is still seen as acceptable. Its not.

People are up in arms (and rightfully so) over issues like homophobia, sexism, racism, but its okay to pick on people with a recognized illness. Taking anti-depressants is no different from a diabetic using insulin.

Its essential to know how to choose healthy food and cook it to your best advantage.
I'm not sure I'd enjoy boxed food all the time. Nobody makes chicken to my liking the way I do! And I enjoy cooking up something damn fabulous! Its very soothing.

Cooking is such a personal preference, not only in what methods are used but the ingredients and seasonings. Boxed foods to me would limit learning about the various ways to cook healthy and to enjoy food that satisfies your own taste buds.

I think it's really important that we all learn to eat healthy and in ways that taste wonderfully.
