Mayonnaise Recipe courtesy Alton Brown Show: Good EatsEpisode: Mayo Clinic 1 egg yolk*
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 pinches sugar
2 teaspoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 cup oil, safflower or corn

In a glass bowl, whisk together egg yolk and dry ingredients. Combine lemon juice and vinegar in a separate bowl then thoroughly whisk half into the yolk mixture. Start whisking briskly, then start adding the oil a few drops at a time until the liquid seems to thicken and lighten a bit, (which means you've got an emulsion on your hands). Once you reach that point you can relax your arm a little (but just a little) and increase the oil flow to a constant (albeit thin) stream. Once half of the oil is in add the rest of the lemon juice mixture.
Continue whisking until all of the oil is incorporated. Leave at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours then refrigerate for up to 1 week.

Now this is the recipe I like(I have other mayo recipes for other things). I buy all my spices from Penzeys.com They are fresh and if you buy the bagged (I have my own tins), it is cheaper than in the store. I even buy the vanilla beans and make my own vanilla extract. One other thing about Penzeys, if it is a bad year for a certain spice, they will tell you. I switched from California paprika to Hungarian, and I will never switch back. The website is plain, but they are selling spices not web design. I also buy their soup bases and keep them at all times, for quick soups and sauces.

OH hell! My crazy cocker spaniel was chasing a lizard and fell in the pool. She HATES the pool...she totally panicked...I had to literally save her. Never in my life have I heard of a dog, a spaniel no less...that would just freakin trip out and drown. Ughhhh...she is totally traumatized.

So, now you know...I have a dog..2 actually....was witholding that info due the perilous state of your cat

The bed is wood so he came and checked out my room. Then we went

and bought the wood. Then he worked on it to get it sanded and stuff.

Then he brought it here and I stained it. Staining took two days. Then

he came back and built it. It took about one week and it just knocked

me off my feet. I wrote here and there but nothing like the week

before. I am sensitive to people's energy so it took a lot out of me.

Also, staining wood is not as easy as people might like you to believe.

I love to get old antiques and strip them and stain them. It is a TON of work but it helps me clear my head and connect to something besides the stress of life and work and relationships. It is probably the one thing that I do by myself that brings me the most joy and satisfaction. Did you stain the wood in your garage? The smell can be quite something if you do it indoors. What size is the bed?

The deck is covered so I did it out there. It rained, sunshine, then more

rain and the staining was safe in the weather.

(throat bleeding, now gagging) and just to make sure, Mom, that you feel like complete and utter sh*t...I'm gonna have my little dog bite you on your way to bed.

I find Jackie's Mom a little odd and you can tell there is allot of tension between her and Jackie. I feel it was unfair of Jackie not to tell her Mom what was going on prior to her arrival. I also think that she probable would have not come for a visit if she knew, she did state Are we going to have some time together". I think Jackie's Mom is really shy.

Her Mom is clearly a bit odd...clearly uncomfortable with her daughter's lifestyle...so why blindside her? I don't get it. Tell her what the deal is and leave it up to her if she wishes to visit or not.
