Holy Mother of Pearl...you still ranting?

You are spewing your interpretation of translations from several different languages. Don't you think something got lost in one or more of those translations? If the text is truly ancient, don't you think times have changed a bit in the past thousand years (give or take a few)?

Has pure science found its way into your realm of knowledge yet, or are you still a decendant of a rib? Are ghosts of neaderthals still looking forward for a cross or the wheel...or fire? Did God create dinosaurs? The Bible doesn't say so.

Are you one of those people who read Playboy/Playgirl for the articles? Did you decide to watch the show out of some deep hidden curiosity? Did you most notice the guys in leather on the Pride TV show because of disgust or curiosity?

Pullleeeze, either jump out of your closet and experience life in the here and now, or jump back into the closet with your books. All too many of you Bible totin, verse quotin so-called-christians are the worst liars of all - those who lie to yourself, while hiding behind a book you claim to be the word of your God. The ones that fall don't fall from Grace, they merely fall off their pedestal....yeah, humans...equal...no special preferrences. Guess what, you'd even be welcome into my community. We don't bar a-holes from membership, heck, we even let straight people in!. We actually do know forgiveness at that level. I can't give you more information about my congregation. If I do, I'd have to teach you the secret handshake and pick up my novelty toaster oven for recruitment.

Are you more upset with me because I believe you to be a fake, or because somehow I managed to hit the nail of truth of you on the head? Believe me, the Truth Will set you free; Not free from your God or your salvation, but from the hate-filled path others are leading you down.

I pray that something, someone touches you; your heart, to open it to all humans, not just those who read your favorite book.
ohiofarmgirl
Micrwaveho....I wasn't referring to you in the "You still ranting..." post

Actually I admire your wit and sarcasm...yes, sometimes biting, but such is life, no?

Me hostile towards scripture??? NEVER! When did I EVER say anything against scripture?

You don't have to say it. It's obvious.

So you are without sin? ZOMZ ladies & germs: We've got the messiah herself on this board.

Who said I was without sin? You're just hostile in general, aren't you? It seems you think that only those without sin should be able to speak on the subject and how God feels about it and what He teaches. You'd be very wrong.

And where are the rest of the scriptures??? HUH? I'd like to see what type of "bible literate" person I am dealing with here.

You gave a long list. And it will take time to give it the attention it deserves. Besides, I have a feeling you aren't at all interested in what the Bible says on the issues. You seem very hostile toward the Word. Hostile in general actually. You know, you could actually pick UP a Bible and read it for yourself. Just a thought. But if you're expecting me to spoon feed you it will take time given the lenghty list.

Yup, print the scriptures out.... as if I were some foreign African from some long lost tribe who you feel you must witness to.

You're not a foreign African. And you CAN pick up a Bible and look the scripture references I give you up like a half way intelligent person.

You see baby, there is where we disagree. YOU ARE NOT GOD, and I find it highly egotistical that you put yourself on the same plane as Him/her.

Actually we DO agree. I don't think I'm God either. I just stubbed my toe on the way in here. God NEVER would have done that : )I have to admit thought, how you could come up with something so stupid is making you look like you just want to argue. Let me know and I won't waste my time.

He wrote it huh?

Through the Holy Spirit. But you being hostile to it I don't expect you to accept that. And that's your choice. God won't drag anyone kicking and screaming into heaven.

I knew you'd pick THAT one out... haha. Too easy of one, I shouldn't have included it for that very reason. Can you speak intelligently about how God feels about racism, slavery, child molestation, & child pornography based on scriptures alone?

I have been speaking intelligently. You might want to try it. Easy, huh? If it was so easy why didn't you tell US what God has revealed regarding life. Racism. Of course it can be addressed on scripture alone. Everything can. But you have to be willing to actually READ and study it. Again, not sure why you would CARE what it says but...by racism do you mean how does He feel about races or about one race thinking other races are inferior simply based on the color of the skin?

Since I'm not sure I'll just give you some scriptures that you can reject. The first is John 3:16, which says "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever will believe in Him shall not persish, but have eternal life." It says WHOSOEVER WILL. Whosover means whosoever. But feel free to twist it into saying what you would PREFER it to say. No distinction between the races in God's eyes regarding salvation. Read the entire book of Romans. It talks about those who are born again being adopted into his family. Clearly adoption strips away race and biology. We become brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of race or biology. A scripture I already mentioned tells us that salvation is first for the Jew, then for the gentile. Again, multiple races that both are offered salvation. Also read Galations 3:28 which says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." There is no room for racism biblically.

LIES!!!! You know you've seen it and have no justifiable argument for it. Hang on a sec, I'll pull it up for your lazy butt.

Still waiting on all of the scriptures....

You are too lazy to read the scriptures for yourself, want me to spoon feed you and I'M lazy???Funny. And VERY judgmental I might add.

I have to laugh at your posts. When I read it in my head I can hear the voice of an old boyfriend. He talked exactly like you write. It's kind of funny. He was self appointed king of the smart-ass club.
SLOTH I TELL YOU!!! It's either that or you don't have the goods to back up your claims. BACK IT UP GURL!!! Unless of course, you can't... wah wah waaaaaah

Yet you want me to tell you all about what the Bible says. Hmmmm.....

Sorry, I don't embrace sin, though your poop analolgy was cute.

Don't pity me, I'm a sinner saved by grace.
And so are we all!!!! Thank you for making my point CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!

Wait... is what you are saying is that having your poop smell is a sin too? Sign me up!!! My poop smells like doritos today. blush.gif

The only points you have made clear :

1) You have no IDEA what God says about salvation.

and

2) you don't WANT to know what He says.

You clearly aren't truly interested in learning about what the scriptures say about your "list". But if you are prove it and email me at newrealityaccount@yahoo.com. .
Clearly you have NO idea of what you speak of.... No idea of what I know... and no idea of what I want to know.

I have stated earlier that I would like for your to "stake your claims" on what you have said about the bible... But clearly you have failed to do so.

I have no interest in speaking to you privately... as this is a public board, & anything you say here is fair game to our scrutiny.

My whole point was:

1) that the Bible may just be an incomplete work? Or are you saying that these issues (the ones I have listed) are "okay" with God because they aren't discussed in the bible?

2) And what about prophesy? I thought that God had the ability to know all about everything... surely He/She could've foreseen all of this muck. Why isn't it addressed in the bible?

3) BECAUSE THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN BY PEOPLE... FALLIBLE FOLKS... just like you & me baby... The problem with folks like you is that you take bits & peices of the bible & use them to benefit your own selfish/scared/homophobic views on the world, but you leave out the most important of life's lessons in there when you do this.

I REALLY feel sorry for you for that.

"Thanks for the teachable moment.

You're God haters and are clearly written about and warned of in the scriptures. It's just neat to read it and actually put a NAME with it!

I would think God would be quite sad that your "teaching methods" continue to drive people from God instead of towards God.

You'll pray? To whom? A false god? Knock yourself out. Someone has touchD my heart, the Holy Spirit. Why your heart is hardened to Him is a mystery to me. And I am open to all humans. But don't confuse that with being open to sin. God hates sin. And He tells us we should too. Therefore I wil.

God hates sin. Shanshan2006 hates sin. It's still hate. Directed at me. It's certainly not love. As God's servant of his word, you are teaching hate. If I reject your version of the word of God, we must certainly be God haters?

Just let me point out your hypocrisy again. You are open to all humans, except of course the ones who oppose your sin and your false god, right? See the catch22? You just DID what you claimed you would pray for me about. Hypocricy. Thanks for displaying it again for all to see first hand though.

So now you are saying the God of Abraham is a false God? That all Jews pray falsely? So are you rejecting the old testament as false also? That only the new testament relating to the Christ is important? Hmmmm, that is something to chew on.

Marital laws are currently EQUAL.

You're fighting a battle of semantics and definition.

Much like laws governing the education of whites as opposed to blacks before Roe V Wade, the laws governing the marriage of heterosexuals as opposed to homosexuals can be said to be "SEPARATE but equal." That's because the law's "black and white" definition of "equal" is limited to "man" and "woman," and does not take into account any "gray areas" (or maybe I should say "gay" areas in this case) of variation from that very limited and skewed definition. Sure, you can purport that marital law is EQUAL because you're adhering to the limited, closed-minded, antiquated and archaic views and definitions the current laws stipulate.

What marital law is NOT is equitable. What it is NOT is fair. It does not provide for fair "treatment" for all because it does not take into account any type of diversity.

Everyone has choices, just because you don't see eye to eye with someone's choice is not up to anyone to judge. "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Right you are. This forum is about a show and the issues it brought up. Amidst the hooplah of the drama about Jackie Warner. There were some very pertinent current issues that the show touched on. The folks posting in here of late are exercising their freedom of speech as well as their freedom of choice....BRAVO!!!!

Remeber all the stuff Jackie said she had to deal with growing up? Well, Shaunshaun is doing her best to show you exactly what kind of treatment it is that drives people away.

Relax and grab a cup of tea, Aquaria. Let the folks exercise their freedoms for a bit. They might shed some light on the issues scirted throuout the show. Jackie said she had become a gay "Icon". Well, personally, I would have to disagree with her on that, but if her show can open the doors of communication...even if it has to start a bit rough, isn't it all worth it?

...or would you prefer we only discuss things you saw and are interested in? :-) Peace out.

To get back to the show. I taped the Reunion Show and just recently watched it. Did any of you notice the look on Rebecca's face when Jackie said she knew her and Mimi were over when she said I hate you in therapy? Rebecca looked shocked. Rebecca may be flirty and likes attention but underneath all of that I think there is a sensitive caring person. She just lets her sexuality and looks overshadow the sensitive part of her. I was so glad she went over and comforted Peeler when they were talking about Doug. The guy needed a hug. I never really cared for Peeler but I think we saw another side of him dealing with Doug's passing. As for Rebecca and Jackie, I don't think Jackie ever took their romantic relationship seriously. I do think they are good friends and may be friends with benefits on occasion. I think Rebecca is the one who got too attached and may have gotten alittle hurt in the end. How many times did we hear Rebecca say " I don't jealous about Jackie..." She was jealous you could just tell. I believed her when she said she didn't start dating Jackie for extra camera time. They both had a spark in their eyes during the season when they were together. That is something even the best of actors can't pretend. I wish the other trainers would have expressed their true feelings about Rebecca and Jackie's relationship. Jesse seems to think everyone feels the way he does, Jackie says differently. Let the others speak.

I am sure there will be a seaon 3. Not sure it can live up to Season 2 but lets hope it can. For some reason I have a feeling Rebecca may not be there. She seems to be getting a lot of attention and my find work else where. I would love to see Bravo put together some additonal never seen footage like they showed on the Reunion Show.

Like I said in previous post, all of this recent debate on this forum is interesting to read. Whether you think people are born gay or not, seuxal orientation is not a choice. You feel how you feel. It is true you can choose not act on those feelings. My choice is you conduct your life in such a way that allows you to achieve happiness and self-worth. As long as how I live my life is not hurtful to others in my life, I choose happiness or suppressing my true feelings. I think the trainers on Workout have chosen to live their lives being true to themselves.

I totally agree and I'm not a Christian! Wow, what that infers is that even though our organized religious structures may differ, we can find a common ground of respect. It honestly amazes me how hard this is for a very vocal few to grasp.

But I already have a cup-o-tea. Why is it so wrong to want to discuss and/or debate something, especially when the topic is actually relevant to what's been showcased in the show itself? I mean, the show is over, and so is SG, so there's really not much else to talk about right now.

It would be awesome if it were all that simple. Agreeing to disagree, that is. It's hard to agree or disagree any point without having some sort of discussion. The subjects that were being touched on are quite pertinent in everyone's lives or you wouldn't have noticed the heat rising from some of our keyboards.

I honestly didn't think much of the show or the actors, but somehow got hooked on it. I absolutely LOVE the discussions that came from it, especially the ones of late. Some of us saw more in the show than the actors. We could find a few issues in being portrayed in either a dim light or an over-colored one and talked about it...sometimes rather sarcastically, but what a great discussion...and such diverse senses of humor and backgrounds...you guys and gals are great! ...better than the actors even!!!

I honestly hope some more discussions dribble out of all this...we'll see. Sorry Aquaria if I bore you...can't please em all, huh? There's a box-o-wine in the fridge. Go on over and pour yourself a tall one.

It's like that person on the PR boards last season who went off, then went on and on and on about the "Bravo needs to apologize for making the unspoken statement that dogs are fashion accesories" argument. To this day, I still want to wring that little troll's neck for using and hijacking my posts about my beloved Girly-cat's illness and death for her own trollish trash.

As much as I do believe in the old adage that religion & politics are topics that don't belong in venues of polite conversation, in this case the show's topics do warrant it, IMO. When someone becomes increasingly immature and unresponsive to reason, though, and resorts to third grade tactics and the unwillingness to even entertain another's opinions or beliefs, that's where civility has no alternative but to end.

I do continue to find it interesting that It hasn't even seen fit to acknowledge my own reasoning, but then again, I kind of expected that, since trolls tend to be a surlish lot who turn cowardly at best when confronted with logic and reason.

"Approach-Avoidance" reigns supreme in her small-minded, delusional little world, which is only natural for a small-minded, delusional little creature.

Can't be helped, eh? wink.gif

Marital laws are currently equal for everyone. Sexual behavior is a choice regardless of orientation. Rendering your "we're born that way" argument useless.

And why are homosexuals so intolerant of anyone who opposes homosexuality? Isn't that a catch 22 considering that they demand tolerance for themselves? That's a contradiction. Simply being intolerant of INtolerance itself makes you a hypocrite. It makes no sense and just makes you all look silly. Until you answer that question you will never be taken seriously by society.

I don't read the messages here.

What you consider intolerence is defending myself in my book. You say a few words in an ancient text should condemn me to a loveless life. I say I'm free to live and love who I want. Your words or ancient book cannot stop what I was born to be. That would be living a LIE, and since God gave me this orientation, I won't hide it to make you happy. I'm happen to think I'm here to teach YOU a lesson about love and acceptance. What are you so afraid of? So afraid that you won't even allow yourself to READ the dreaded lesbians words. Me thinks she dost protest too much.

Wait, you want a group that's been subjected to routine, linear intolerance to be tolerant of the intolerance? Good grief, delusion and lip-service must have no limits whatsoever in your labyrinth. So, everyone who feels discriminated against is just supposed to turn a multitude of cheeks instead of fighting for what they believe should be inalienable? Try telling that to the African Americans, the Jews, or any other long-suffering "group" that doesn't conform to your puerile standards of who gets into your version of "Heaven" and who doesn't. You talk in teeny little circles while dancing around the issues themselves, and that only makes you look repeatedly like the fool who can't be taken seriously.

And ... seriously--overgeneralize much? The Bible tells us to "love thy neighbor." It doesn't say "Love thy neighbor, but only if they're just like you." For the record, I'm not homosexual and I'm not heterosexual. I'm bisexual, so I guess that puts me smack dab in the center of some special circle of Dante's Inferno you've already pinned me to with your assumptions. Well, continued good luck with that.

ORLY? You seem to read the messages here just fine, and quite frequently, even--hence your continued Spam 'n Spew. Everything that can be said has already been said here, and you've proven yourself to be unable to entertain reason, so why on earth would anyone want to put themselves out by regurgitating it all over again elsewhere?

If you can't fight it out here, where it all started, then don't hide behind an addy that makes you the cowardly little "man bahind the curtain" when you've wanted to make yourself into "Oz The Great & Terrible" all along, and if you can't defend your POV out here in the open where you first made it known, then don't bother to defend it at all.

Moving things behind the scenes doesn't cut it, especially when you were one of the self-proclaimed "big guns" who put it up where everyone could see it in the first place.

LOL If you go there. Go to Swenson's and pick me up a Cheeseburger (Best burgers EVER) with a side of fried mushrooms.
If by some chance your plane flies over Arizona on your way back, open a window and toss one out to me. I'd be forever grateful.

Careful now with all this food talk or we'll have to take it to the top chef boards. And if the burgers are that good, you must think I have incredible will power to save one to toss out the window. Meat good!

Here is another topic to throw onto the fire. My partner and I decided we wanted to have a family. We wanted one of us to have the baby. We decided she would be the one to carry the baby. We had artificial insemination. We had a wonderful baby boy. What should be one of the most amazing experiences of my life has issues I have to be concerned with. 1. I have no physical connection to this little boy; 2. If something were to happen to my partner where would that leave me as far as custody? We can't legally get married. We got a lawyer and made sure everything was done legally to ensure both of us have parental rights. Don't get me wrong, whatever extra time and expense it took to make sure everything was done correctly is not the point. The point is we had to take the time to deal this these issues. I basically had to adopt a baby I already thought of as my son. If anyone could marry regardless of sexual orientation some of these issues would be easier to deal with.

I consider myself bisexual because I have always been equally attracted to both men and women. It just happens the person I truly feel in love with is a women. If I had found a man I feel in love with I would be married to a man right now. People should have the same legal rights as far as children go regardless of your sexual orientation. And there is also the issue of health insurance.

That's so awesome--KISMET!!! Mom and I moved around a lot until I was in 5th grade, and we lived in the Highland Square/Highland Park area when I was in 4th grade--I went to school that year at Highland Park Elementary, right next to the local cemetary! Hmm ... maybe that's why I'm so quirky, LOL! laugh.gif

Congratulations!

Child issues easy? As a mother myself, I'd have to say every part of parenting regardless of the sexual orientation of the parent (s) is tough. As far as having to adopt your son to protect your rights (and more importantly, his to you) ...you gotta do what you gotta do - for him. It doesn't matter how hard.
As far as the health insurance issue...get this...that "Save the Family" organization tried in the last election to ban gay marriages. They lost out here in AZ because they failed to realize who else they effected with their campaignes to rid the world of those things not fitting their molds (religious beliefs).
It isn't going to be easy, but some day, hopefully soon, you will be afforded the same rights and benefits to protect and raise your son. Keep the faith and hope some more progressive-thinking elected official get into government.

Best of luck to you and your family!

Sucks doesn't it. To make sure your child is legally yours. All the legal hopes we jump thru to be "equal". I hope, not too many years into the future, we look back and say, how crazy was that.

Girlfrien - you be preachin to the choir on that point.

My seester went back for a visit and I forced her (threats of inhuman bodily damage)to Fed-Ex me a Swenson's Cheezeburger. Even though it took an over-night to get here, it was still better than anything the great Southwest could ever do.

To anyone listening: You haven't lived fully until you've had a burger from Swenson's and a Californian (soft drink mix they concoct for you). The God's of Mt. Olympus would gladly give up their ambrosia for just one bite of a Swenson's burger.

But I don't want crabs!!!

"Swenson's burgers" means hot, juicy, sizzlin' morsels of seasoned beef-almighty-meat sandwiched between your choice of crisp lettuce, crazysweet onion, sweet, hot or fiery peppers, the incomparable and absolute power of cheese, hearty, beefy 'n fresh tomatoes, sweet, salty or garlic pickles, relish and/or whatever else your heart desires as "burger perfection," all on an inconsequential yet somehow equally perfect bun.

Crabs, though? "Crabs" are just ... well ... nasty sex cheez. And ...
